Der Rohstoff Zink befindet sich seit dem Jahr 2016 offiziell in einem Angebotsengpass. Soll heißen, die Nachfrage ist höher als die Produktion inkl. Recycling. Dieser Nachfrageüberhang kam durch die Schließung von großen Zinkminen und den sinkenden Zinkreserven zustande. So wurde letztes Jahr z.B. die Century Mine von MMG in Australien geschlossen, und auch Glencore musste in einigen Minen die Produktion zurückfahren. Insgesamt werden im Zeitraum der Jahre von 2014 bis 2020 elf große Zinkminen geschlossen. Das wäre alles nicht weiter dramatisch, wenn es genügend Nachschub geben würde. Allerdings befinden sich keine nennenswerten Projekte in der Entwicklung, welche die zur Neige gehenden Projekte ersetzen könnten. Zwar werden aktuell auch neue Zinkvorkommen entdeckt, und bis zum Jahr 2020 werden auch neue Zinkminen in Produktion gehen, doch wie der Branchenprimus Teck in einer aktuellen Produktion vorrechnet, werden diese neuen Vorkommen die ehemaligen Mega-Minen nicht vollständig ersetzen können. Die UBS geht in einer Studie sogar davon aus, dass bis zum Jahr 2020 die weltweite Zinkförderung durch weitere Minenschließungen nochmals um 8 bis 20% zurück gehen wird.


Altair Resources hat erst vor kurzem in Nevada, USA mit der Pan American und der Prince Mine, zwei ehemalige Zink/Silberminen nebst 2.000tpd Verarbeitungsanlage erworben, welche unter dem Pioche Zinkprojekt zusammengefasst werden

DIE PROJEKTE

Zum Pioche Zinkprojekt in Nevada zählen die beiden ehemaligen Zinkminen Pan American und Prince. Die Caselton Mühle mit einer Verarbeitungsleistung von 2.000 tpd (Tonnen pro Tag) befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe der beiden Minen.

Die Pan American Mine wurde zuletzt in den 70er Jahren im Untertagebau von Bunker Hill Mining mit einer Leistung von 1.500 Tonnen pro Tag betrieben.



Die Bunker Hill Co. hatte das abgebaute Erz in der Aufbereitungsanlage Caselton Concentrator, die sich 12 Meilen von der Mine entfernt befindet, mit einer Tagesleistung von 1.500t verarbeitet. Das verarbeitete Material beinhaltete im Schnitt 2,7% Zink, 1,8% Blei, 1,6 Unzen (45,3g) Silber sowie 8,6% Mangan pro Tonne. Die Bunker Hill Aufzeichnungen zeigen eine historische Ressource von 1,7 Mio. Tonnen wovon 732.000 Tonnen umgehend abgebaut werden können. Die anstehenden Arbeiten für die Pan American Mine beinhalten die Bestätigung der Ressource, sowie der Erlangung von Entwässerungsrechten und den Entwurf und die Zulassung eines neuen Abgangsbeckens. Altair wird mit diesen Arbeiten unmittelbar nach Abschluss der Akquisition beginnen. Cash Flow aus den Projekten für Q4 2018 erwartet.

Der Caselton Concentrator (Aufbereitungsanlage) befindet sich lt. Angaben des Unternehmens in einem exzellenten Zustand und umfasst alle notwendige Infrastruktur zum Betrieb, inklusive Strom, Wasser, Büros, Lagerhallen, Versorgungseinrichtungen usw. Zuletzt wurde die Anlage 1989 von Bunker Hill mit einer Leistung von 1.500 Tonnen pro Tag betrieben. Die Anlage hat eine Auslegung von 2.000 Tonnen pro Tag. Aufbau und Genehmigungsverfahren werden unmittelbar nach Abschluss der Akquisition begonnen.

Altair Resources verfügt mit dem CREPULJE Projekt über ein hochgradiges Zink-Projekt im Nordwesten Kosovos. Die Mine enthält gemäß historischer Ressourcenschätzungen (nicht NI 43-101 konform) durchschnittlich 15% Zink und 5% Blei sowie ein wenig Silber. Die Top-Geologen von Altair Resources Inc. trauen dem hochgradigen Invictus-Zink-Projekt auf der anfänglichen Explorationsfläche von 500m x 300m x 50m einen durchschnittlichen Zink-Gehalt von 10% zu. Das würde 2,25 Mio. Tonnen Zink entsprechen. Beim aktuellen Zinkpreis je Tonne würde dies einem Metallwert im Boden von mehr als 5 Milliarden USD entsprechen.

Aktuell läuft auf dem Zinkprojekt ein Bohrprogramm, von welchem zuletzt Bohrergebnisse der ersten beiden fertig gestellten Bohrlöcher vorgelegt wurden.



Highlight war dabei Bohrloch CRP008, welches über einen Abschnitt von 9,8 Metern 10,11% Zink und 0,46% Blei zu tage förderte. Darin enthalten war ein Abschnitt mit 5,8m der 14,56% Zink und 1,27% Blei enthielt. Ein zweites Intervall im selben Bohrkern über 8,5m, erstreckt sich von 32,5m bis auf 41m und zeigt Werte von durchschnittlich 23,18% Zink und 1,53% Blei.

Diese sehr hohen Zinkgrade aus den Proben sind bedeutend für das gesamte Zinkpotential der Liegenschaft und bestätigen zudem die erzielten Werte der im Graben Trench Nr. 2-1 a gesammelter Zinkoxidmineralisation. Wie auch von Perry Grunenberg in einer NI 43-101 Studie berichtet, zeigt dieser Graben 4m mit 25,6% Zink, 1,56% Blei und 11m an 20,1% Zink und 1,83% Blei.

Diese Resultate bestätigen die hochgradige Natur der Zinkerscheinungen, die in früheren Proben auf der Crepuljie Zink-Blei-Silber Liegenschaft gefunden wurden. Diverse Oberflächengrabungen wiesen hochgradige Zink-Blei Mineralisierungen auf, von 17% bis 35% Zink und Blei über 2m bis 4m Breit innerhalb der bekannten mineralisierten Zonen.

WELTKLASSE BOHRERGEBNISSE

Insgesamt gibt es nur wenig ökonomisch sinnvoll abbaubare Zinkvorkommen die ein Zinkgehalt von mehr als 5% besitzen. Reine Zinkprojekte mit mehr als 10% sind schon extrem selten, und dann nur durch Blei und Zink als Beiprodukte zu erreichen.



Das erste Bohrergebnis von Altair Resources auf dem Crepulje Projekt kann daher ohne Übertreibung als Weltklasse eingestuft werden. Umso interessanter ist es, dass diese Bohrungen außerhalb der festgestellten Anomalie stattgefunden haben, um die vermutete Ressource besser einzugrenzen, und eine etwaige Ausdehnung zu erkennen.

Darüber hinaus ist man bereits bei Bohrloch #3 bei einer Tiefe von 130m angelangt, und Bohrloch #4 bei 240m. Läuft alles nach Plan wird man hier bis auf 300m in die Tiefe bohren. Die Geologen werden anschließend entscheiden ob es Sinn macht noch tiefer zu gehen.

Bohrloch #3 und #4 sollen ans Labor gesendet werden, sobald man mit den Bohrungen von #4 fertig ist. Die Ergebnisse erwartet man innerhalb der nächsten 3Wochen. Da diese zwei neuen Bohrlöcher innerhalb der zuvor festgestellten Anomalie gebohrt werden, kann man davon ausgehen, dass die Zinkgehalte nochmals höher ausfallen. Nach diesen beiden aktuellen Bohrlöchern, sollen noch 3 weitere bis in eine Tiefe von 200 bis 300m stattfinden. In Summe stehen also jetzt erstmal Ergebnisse von 2 Bohrlöchern aus, anschließend sollen nochmals 3 Bohrlöcher folgen.


DAS MANAGEMENT

Harold (Roy) Shipes: President, CEO und Director
Er kann auf eine 40 jährige Erfahrung in der Bergbaubranche zurückblicken. Seine Stärken liegen in der Entwicklung von Basis und Edelmetallprojekten bis hin zur Produktion. Er war Vizepräsident und Minenmanager bei Southern Peru Copper Corp. Als CEO von Ok Tedi Mining entwickelt er eine der größten Kupferminen der Welt. Aktuell ist er ebenfalls CEO von Atlas Precious Metals Inc.

Stewart Jackson, PhD, PGeo, Geological Consultant
Er hat mehr als 55 Jahre Erfahrung im Bergbau, sowie Öl- und Gassektor. In seiner Karriere war in zahlreiche Entdeckungen und den Aufbau von großen Minen involviert. Darunter z.B. die Red Dog Zink-Blei Mine im Nordwesten Alaskas für Cominco, oder die Borealis, South McCoy und Manhattan Goldminen für Houston Oil and Minerals. Er war Gründer von Crown Resource Corp. die ein 4,5 Mio. Unzen Goldprojekt entdeckten, und nun von Kinross geführt wird.

Vor kurzem vergrößerte Altair seine Crepulje Liegenschaft durch den Erwerb von einer dritten Bergbaulizenz in die westliche und östliche Richtung der Zink-Entdeckung.

CEO, Harold Shipes sagte dazu folgendes: "Unsere Auswertung der Gravitätsstudie und der hochgradigen Bodenproben, zwangen uns praktisch dazu, auch die Anomalien zu testen, die sich auf die umgebende Fläche erstreckten."

Die dritte Lizenz erweitert die ursprünglichen zwei Bereiche weiter in die westliche und nördliche Richtung. Eine soeben beendete Gravitätsstudie dieser Fläche, entdeckte dort Anomalien, die die gleichen guten geologischen Voraussetzungen aufweisen, wie die bereits bekannten Rohstoffvorkommen.

Im April 2017 nahm Altair Resources im Rahmen einer Privatplatzierung 2,11 Mio. CAD ein. Diese Mittel werden nun für die Bohrungen auf dem Crepulje Projekt, sowie für die Entwicklung der ehemaligen Zinkminen in Nevada verwendet. Einen ersten eigenen Cashflow aus der Produktion erwartet das Management für Q4 2018.

Das 52-Wochentief lag bei 0,16 CAD (kanadische Dollar), das Hoch bei 0,465 CAD. Zum Zeitpunkt der Erstellung dieses Firmenprofils lag der letzte Schlusskurs bei 0,28 CAD, umgerechnet 0,193 EUR.

ALTAIR RESOURCES SIGNS BINDING LETTER OF INTENT TO ACQUIRE A FORMER PRODUCING ZINC-LEAD-SILVER MINE IN GERMANY

Altair Resources Inc. has signed a binding letter of intent dated for reference Dec. 23, 2017, with Rhenium Technology Corp. and its shareholders to acquire the former-producing zinc-lead-silver Grund mine project located in the Harz region of Germany, through the acquisition of all of the issued and outstanding shares of Rhenium. Upon completion of the acquisition, Rhenium will become a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. The acquisition is an arm's-length transaction for the company.

Material terms of the acquisition

The material terms of the acquisition include the following terms, among others:



Upon completion of the acquisition, Altair will issue to the Rhenium shareholders an aggregate of 9.64 million common shares of the company, which will represent approximately 16.2 per cent of the then issued and outstanding common shares of Altair.
Altair will grant to the Rhenium shareholders a 2-per-cent net smelter returns royalty on the silver and zinc produced from the Grund mine project for a term to be agreed upon. Altair will have the right at any time to buy 50 per cent of the royalty (in example, 1-per-cent royalty) by the issuance of an aggregate of 3.5 million common shares of Altair. In the event that the Rhenium shareholders wish to sell the remaining 50 per cent of the royalty, they will first offer it to Altair, in which case the consideration to be paid by Altair will be an aggregate of 3.5 million common shares of Altair.
The Rhenium shareholders will be entitled to nominate one person to the board of directors of Altair on closing of the acquisition, such person to be acceptable to Altair and the TSX Venture Exchange.



The closing of the acquisition is subject to a number of conditions precedent which are normal for transactions such as this, including the completion of satisfactory due diligence; approval of the Altair shareholders to the acquisition if required; the delivery of a title and corporate opinion; the completion of a technical report on the Grund mine project in accordance with National Instrument 43-101 -- Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects; execution of a definitive agreement; acceptance of the exchange. There can be no assurance that the acquisition will be completed as contemplated or at all.

Summary of the Grund mine project

The Grund mine project is located in the Harz Mountain region of central Germany, comprising 15,655 hectares of mining rights, plus a surface lease covering all mine sites and industrial facilities located in the city of Grund. The mine was formerly operated until 1992 by Preussag AG (now TUI AG) and was closed due to the depressed price of zinc at that time.

Prior to the Grund mine ceasing operations, the mine was operating at 450,000 tonnes per year (1,200 t/d). Preussag AG corporate records also indicate that in 1986 approximately 6.6 million tonnes of material was available for potential mining, and that by 1992 when the mine closed, an aggregate of 1.1 million tonnes of this material had been mined.

The historical data referred to herein is based on prior data and records prepared by the previous owner of the Grund mine prior to the implementation of National Instrument 43-101. The historical data should not be relied upon. The company is presenting these historical data for reference only and is not implying that any mineralization is present within the existing deposit. The reader is cautioned that there are no known reserves on the property under NI 43-101, and it is uncertain if further exploration will result in a target being delineated as a mineral resource. There can be no assurance that if discovered that any mineral resource may be economically recovered. The historical data as to the potential quantity of material has been derived from the Preussag AG records as of 1992. No grade is implied, however Preussag AG records are available for the historical production of the mine from 1932 to 1992. Management believes that the Preussag AG historical records and projections were prepared in a workman-like manner by established mining concern personnel and are believed to be reliable, and relevant to the current evaluation of the project.

Historical production for the Harz district totals 37.8 million tonnes grading 5.1 per cent lead, 3.9 per cent zinc, and about 140 grams per tonne silver (Preussag AG records) of which about half came from the Grund mine. The company is presenting these historical data for reference only and is not implying that similar material is still present within the existing deposit.

A qualified person for Altair has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as current mineral resources or mineral reserves, and the company is not treating the historical estimate as current mineral resources or mineral reserves. The historical data must be verified by a QP before any current resource or reserve can be established. Additional work will need to be undertaken to verify the historical estimate as current mineral resources or mineral reserves which will include relogging of relevant drilling data, resampling of available drill cores, resampling underground stopes and openings where available, verify the quality assurance/quality control procedures utilized in developing historical estimates, a review of all detailed production and milling records, verification of all accessible underground mapping, and verification of historical cost parameters relative to current cost parameters.

A conceptual exploration target has been formulated for the Grund mine project based on the Preussag AG historical reports that indicate that the veins were not bottomed and are open on strike. It is anticipated that an exploration program will explore depth projections of previously mined zones, explore strike projections of previously mined zones and evaluate all historical mine data for possible additional vein structures or bedded structures that may be present for future exploration. No estimate of the size or grade of any exploration target additional to the Grund mine itself is presented at this time.

The Grund mine itself is the exploration target for the purpose of this release. The exploration target is estimated at between 4.5 million and 5 million tonnes of material, grading 5 per cent to 7 per cent zinc, 2 per cent to 3 per cent lead, and 120 grams per tonne to 140 g/t silver. These numbers have been prepared by the company based on all materials available from historical records and data. The company is not treating this estimate as a resource or reserve, and additional work must be conducted by a qualified person before any resource or reserve is established. Even if established there can be no assurance that any such resource may be economically recoverable.

The Grund mine project property includes all mining rights for the district, all surface installations, good road access via four-lane interstate highway, water, and high and low voltage electricity, rail access, and complete loading facilities. The concession includes all underground facilities, including six mine shafts, approximately 1,000 kilometres of underground workings, and two main access tunnels. The Tiefen-Georg-Stollen and Ernst-August-Stollen tunnels also served as drainage tunnels for the district.

The two main shafts, the Achenbachschact at 719 metres, and the Hilfe-Gotteser-Schact shaft at 400 metres provide the most recent access in addition to four other shafts. Production at the time of the closure of the mine was mainly from the 21st level at 900 m depth. The remaining mineralization is expected to be mainly below levels 14 and 19. The mineralization is open at depth and on strike with no limits defined by mining to date. Mining and production records indicate that copper levels increased at depth and to the east leaving the possibility open for increased copper levels as mining progresses. The mining concession also includes the Harz Foreland copper productive vein areas to the southeast.

The lower levels of the mine are flooded and will require dewatering. The processing complex will require refitting with recovery equipment to re-establish the heavy media facility and flotation facilities for production of separate lead and zinc concentrates. The possibility of electronic sorting in addition to heavy media separation will be considered for future operations.

The abundant open spaces within the mine workings will allow for underground disposal of any tailings not utilized in the production of concrete and cement.

The exploration possibilities for the concession are enhanced by the availability of geophysical data both airborne and ground, plus the access to all drilling data in the region for which maps, cores, logs and records are available at the LBEG (state authority for mining, energy and geochemistry) for the state of Niedersachsen.

The mineralization of the six main vein structures consists of near vertical veins varying from one metre to several 10s of metres in thickness. These veins extend to depth, and have not been bottomed, and extend on strike beyond all mine workings. The veins are emplaced in a thick series of greywackes, shaley sandstones and conglomerates as well as limestones of Devonian (Givetian) and younger age, all of which have the strength and capability of allowing development of large vertical fractures which were filled by four mineralization events, including development of major breccia mineralization. The great widths and extent of the veins depends on the thick competent host-rock sequences.

All resource estimates referred to herein are based on prior data and reports obtained and prepared by previous operators. The company has not completed the work necessary to verify the classification of the resource estimates. The company is not treating the mineral resource estimates as National Instrument 43-101 defined resource verified by a qualified person. The historical estimates should not be relied upon. The Grund mine project will require considerable further evaluation which the company's management and consultants intend to carry out in due course.

Chairman and chief executive officer, Harold (Roy) Shipes, stated: "The Bad Grund mine represents a very major acquisition in a prolific mining district in a safe and supportive jurisdiction. It holds excellent exploration potential and significant amounts of developed material ready for mining. It hosts an impressive infrastructure with all support facilities, including abundant water, adequate electricity, tailings disposal facilities as well as extensive underground depleted mine areas suitable for paste backfill of tailings, road, rail, and air access, all office buildings, and shops. It should allow fast track to production and complements the company's Pan American mine in Lincoln county, Nevada, USA."

Rhenium gehört zudem das Bergwerk überhaupt nicht, sofern ich das richtig überschaue. Sie haben nur eine "Aufsuchungserlaubnis" erworben. Sie können es entsprechend auch nicht verkaufen.
