Rallye Anleihen bleiben interessant:

By Robert Williams
(Bloomberg) -- Carrefour SA denied a report it’s
considering a bid for rival Casino Guichard-Perrachon SA, a move
that would create France’s biggest grocer and a new market
leader in Brazil.
Big-box store operator Carrefour has spent several weeks
studying an all-shares offer of 4 billion euros to 4.2 billion
euros ($4.4 billion to $4.6 billion) for Casino, though it could
raise the price to 48 euros a share by adding cash, according to
BFM Business, which cited several people it didn’t identify.
There is no such offer nor any intention to make one, a
Carrefour spokeswoman said.
Casino’s iconic Monoprix chain is prized by French shoppers
but its owner is saddled with billions of euros in debt.
Casino’s parent company Rallye, through which Jean-Charles
Naouri controls the retailer, entered creditor protection in
May.
Casino shares have gained 27% in the past month, giving the
retailer a market value of 4.8 billion euros. Carrefour doesn’t
aim to make a hostile bid, BFM said.
It’s not the first time the two companies have been linked
by merger speculation. About a year ago, Casino said it got
approached about a merger by Carrefour, which denied making any
proposal.
Since taking over as chief executive officer of Carrefour
in 2017, Alexandre Bompard has called for consolidation in
France’s highly competitive grocery market, where the group has
been losing market share amid the rise of hard discounters like
Lidl and franchise-based groups like E. Leclerc. A push to focus
on organic food and private label products hasn’t been able to
make up for eroding interest in its sprawling suburban stores.
Mergers and acquisitions were key to Bompard’s past tenure
as CEO of retailer Fnac Darty--which he prevented from going the
way of Border’s books and RadioShack by focusing on omnichannel
services and negotiating a takeover of a home appliance chain
popular for its warranty programs.
Carrefour’s investors include LVMH Chairman Bernard
Arnault, Brazilian retail tycoon Abilio Diniz, and the Moulin
family, which owns the Galeries Lafayette department store.

Interessenbekundung initiiert habe. Das Ziel der Verhandlungen sei eine
verbindliche Offerte.
