Hallo zusammen,

The world’s top commodity traders have forecast a return to $100-a-barrel oil, as investment in new supplies slows down before demand has peaked and before green alternatives can take up the slack.
Executives from Vitol, Glencore and Trafigura and Goldman Sachs said on Tuesday that $100 crude was a real possibility, with prices already reaching their highest level in two years this week as Brent crude moved above $73 a barrel.

Some of the largest oil producers such as BP and Royal Dutch Shell have said their oil production will start to taper in the coming years as they shift investments towards greener forms of energy under pressure from investors.
Equinor, Norway’s state-backed oil company, said on Tuesday that it would put 50 per cent of its capital expenditure towards renewable and low carbon investments by 2030, but did not expect to see its oil output decline until after that date.

Biden freezes oil leases in Alaska refuge pending new environmental review
A new environmental analysis could impose additional restrictions on development in the refuge or potentially nullify the leases altogether.
https://www.politico.com/news/2021/06/01/biden-anwr-alaska-o…
ist aber nur erstmal ein politischer Plan:
The Biden administration is moving to suspend all oil and gas leases in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge pending a deeper look at the environmental impacts of drilling in the sensitive region, according to a person with direct knowledge of the decision.
The suspension of the leases follows President Joe Biden's January 20 executive order that identified “alleged legal deficiencies” in the original leasing program and put in place a temporary moratorium on any oil- and gas-related activities in the refuge. The executive order also left open the possibility that the department would undertake a new environmental review to address potential legal flaws in the program.
