      Der Hersteller von Wechselspeicherlösungen Iomega hat ein neues Mitglied derCD-RW-Laufwerksfamilie mit ATAPI-Schnittstelle angekündigt.

      Iomegas internes ZipCD CD-RW 8x4x32 ATAPI Laufwerk soll "das schnellste Laufwerk" aus der Produktpalette bisher sein und wird zusammen mit der Adaptec Easy CD Creator und der Adaptec Direct CD Software ausgeliefert. Es passt in den 5,25 Zoll Schacht eines Desktop-Computers.

      Das Laufwerk ist Windows 95, 98, 2000 und NT 4.0-kompatibel. Ab Mitte Juni ist es zu einem empfohlenen Verkaufspreis von 499 Mark im Groß- und Einzelhandel verfügbar.

      Iomega`s Q2 operating profit tops forecasts

      PALO ALTO, Calif., July 13 (Reuters) - Iomega Corp., a maker of removable and portable storage devices for personal computers, on
      Thursday reported second-quarter operating profits that topped analyst forecasts, its third consecutive quarter of profitability.

      Roy, Utah-based Iomega (NYSE:IOM - news) said that for the period ended June 25 it had net income of $40.4 million, or 15 cents a share, compared with a loss of $47.1
      million, or 15 cents a share, in the year-ago period.

      Excluding five cents a share for a tax-related item and 1 cent a share for a restructuring charge, Iomega had a per-share profit of 9 cents a share, topping the 6 cents a
      share in operating profit expected by analysts surveyed by First Call/Thomson Financial.

      Sales fell 13 percent to $303.6 million from $348.8 million.

      Iomega shares rose 1/8 to 4-1/16 in New York Stock Exchange trading. The shares have traded in a range of 2-15/16 to 5-11/16 in the last 12 months.

      Iomega Announces Two Key Executive Appointments

      Doug Collier Appointed Vice President, Product Management and Business Development; David Campbell
      Appointed Vice President, Marketing

      ROY, Utah, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM - news), a global leader in data management solutions, today announced two senior executive
      appointments -- J. Douglas Collier as vice president, product management and business development, and David Campbell as vice president of marketing. Collier and
      Campbell will both report directly to Bruce Albertson, president and CEO.

      Whirlpool-North America where he served as director of business development, and later gained international business experience as a product director with Whirlpool`s
      European division. Collier holds an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba.

      alliances and negotiating contracts. Campbell has held other high-level positions with companies including Service Leadership Network in Seattle and Maritz
