Investment in Index.hu
Index.hu, a leading portal in Hungary, has signed an
investment deal with Intel Capital. Intel Capital has acquired
a minority interest in the Hungarian Internet company.
Index.hu is an Internet portal in Hungary providing news and
the full range of classic portal services including web-site
catalogue, free e-mail, feeweb and chat. Index.hu was founded
in May 1999 and is one of the most successful Internet
companies in the region. The portal - index.hu, creates
approx. 9 million impressions a month and serves over 80
thousands visitors daily. Index.hu properties (tar.hu,
drotposta.hu and aruhaz.index.hu) have 150 thousands
registered users, Index webstore offers over 2,500 different
goods for sale on-line.
"We are proud that Intel Capital has decided to make its first
Internet investments in Hungary in Index" - said Ákos Kõrösi,
Chairman and CEO of Index.hu Rt. The investment funds will be
primarily channeled into content and e-Commerce development
both in Hungary and in the region. Index.hu plans to open new
vortals (vertical portals - concentrated on specific subjects)
in the near future. One of the vortals will deal with the
automobile industry offering user information, comparative
data on cars as well as e-Commerce possibilities. In
cooperation with one of the leading tourist book publishers,
Index plans to start a tourist site offering detailed tourist
information on Hungary, online hotel reservation and other e-
Commerce options. Another new vortal will provide online games
and e-Commerce offer of toys and gaming products. "We are
confident that with the help of the investment we will
strengthen our position on all areas of the content market in
Hungary and become an important player in the region as well"

Dies beweist wieder einmal das net.IPO ein sehr gutes pre-IPO/Beteiligungsgeschäfts betreibt. net.IPO hat wahrscheinlich wesentlich weniger für die Beteiligung bezahlt als Intel.
