GM, Hydrogenics form fuel cell alliance

TORONTO, Oct. 16 (Reuters) - General Motors Corp.(NYSE:GM - news), the world`s No. 1 automaker, will boost its stake in
fuel cell developer Hydrogenics Corp.(NasdaqNM:HYGS - news)(Toronto:HYG.TO - news) as part of an alliance to hasten the
development of vehicles and other products powered by fuel cells, the companies said on Tuesday.

The alliance will include shared intellectual property rights and joint efforts in fuel cell product development, engineering,
prototyping, testing, branding and marketing strategies.

Under the agreement, GM will receive 11.3 million shares of Hydrogenics common stock, or about 24 percent of Hydrogenics` outstanding shares. Hydrogenics will
also issue GM warrants to acquire an additional 2.4 million Hydrogenics common shares, bringing GM`s stake to 28 percent of outstanding equity.

``GM and Hydrogenics share a joint vision to commercialize fuel cell technology and develop the energy and propulsion systems that will use this technology,`` said
Larry Burns, GM vice president of research and development and planning.

Hydrogenics, based in Toronto, develops and commercializes proton exchange membrane fuel cell systems for clean power generation -- including associated testing
      and control technology.

Die Zusammenarbeit General Motors mit HYGS scheint immer
      intensiver zu werden.

Ebenfalls scheint GM auch weitere Aktien aufzukaufen.

Ein sehr interessanter Wert, diese HYGS.

Hydrogenics and GM Sign Contract for Engineering Support Services
TORONTO, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Hydrogenics Corporation (Nasdaq: HYGS - news; TSE: HYG - news), a leading designer and manufacturer of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell systems, today announced that it has signed a contract to supply General Motors with engineering support and related services at a GM fuel cell research facility in Honeyoye Falls, NY.

To support this initiative, Hydrogenics has agreed to hire fifty-five employees currently working at this facility under three separate engineering contract firms through GM. Effective today these 55 engineers, technicians, and administrative staff will become full-time Hydrogenics` employees. They will continue working at the GM facility. This effectively increases Hydrogenics` headcount by almost 50 percent bringing the total number of employees of the company to 167.

``We are excited to welcome such a highly skilled workforce to the Hydrogenics team and believe this new collection of expertise has the potential to build significant momentum and synergies in our corporate development``, said Pierre Rivard, President and CEO of Hydrogenics. ``This contract is a further indication of the extent and strength of the GM-Hydrogenics alliance. We look forward to contributing to GM`s research and development thrust in a meaningful and encompassing manner with the end goal of accelerating our joint commercialization efforts.``

In October Hydrogenics and GM formed a strategic alliance to accelerate the commercialization of fuel cell technology, with GM acquiring a 24 percent stake in Hydrogenics.
