Neuer Thread!
Wer weiß was über Microvision?

Hallo Michael_III
hört sich erstmal sehr interessant an!
Kannst Du die WKN-NR. sowie noch
zusätzliche Infos über Microvision posten?
Aktienzahl
Handel
Marktkapitalisierung
Links etc. etc.
Wäre für alle Boardler mit " Weitblick " eine
sehr lohnende Aktie wenn die beschriebene Technik
sich realisieren läßt.

marktkap angeblich bei etwa 300 Mio$
chart: ab Dez steiler Aufstieg, weil deren Technik fasziniert

Company Press Release

Dr. Michael DeBakey and Baylor College of Medicine to Act as Beta Site For Microvision Display System
Clinical Studies to Use Retinal Scanning Display Technology in Minimally Invasive Cardiac and Abdominal Surgery
BOTHELL, Wash., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Microvision, Inc. (Nasdaq: MVIS - news) today announced that Baylor College of Medicine has signed an agreement under which Baylor will perform studies using visualization tools based on Microvision`s retinal scanning display (RSD) technology in surgery. Baylor is interested in the potential for improved surgical visualization in minimally invasive cardiac and abdominal procedures. The agreement was signed by world renowned cardiac specialists Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., Chancellor Emeritus and Director of the DeBakey Heart Center, Patrick R. Reardon, M.D., Chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery and F. Charles Brunicardi, M.D., Chairman of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery.
With powerful advances in computer graphics technology, the output of traditional diagnostic imaging tools such as MRI and CT can now be turned into enhanced visual reference models that are valuable for both preoperative planning and as a visual guide to assist navigation during surgery. The potential benefits include improved surgical outcomes, greater efficiency, reduced patient trauma and faster recovery, and the ability to rapidly teach and develop new procedures. The ability to overlay these images and other visual guides on the anatomy enables fast and accurate localization and improves eye-hand coordination to more precisely control instruments during microsurgery. Under the terms of the agreement, Baylor and the supporting surgeons will host clinical studies as part of the development of an advanced head worn display system that will provide surgeons with this revolutionary ``inside the body`` view. Clinical studies are anticipated to begin during the second half of 2000.
``We endorse the potential of the Microvision technology as a valuable surgical navigation visualization tool,`` stated Dr. Reardon. ``This technology appears to have all the ingredients of a winning solution. Overall, we anticipate better surgical visualization, greater efficiency, reduced stress on the surgeon and, as a result, improved patient care. We believe that this is a technology that will enable us to develop new surgical procedures and to improve upon existing ones. We are impressed with Microvision and their dedication to bringing this new visualization aid to the marketplace.
Baylor, under the leadership of Dr. DeBakey, has been a pioneer in advancing surgical research leading to the development of new devices and new operations to improve patient care around the world. This has allowed us to restore good health to the lives of so many patients. Now, with the appointment of Dr. F. Charles Brunicardi as Chairman, we welcome the opportunity to assist in this exciting new technology and product development. We look forward to continuing in Dr. DeBakey`s tradition of `pushing the envelope` as we use this technology to develop new and improved minimally invasive surgical treatments to improve the lives of patients.``
Rick Rutkowski, Microvision President and CEO said, ``This agreement builds on our ongoing work in the neurosurgery arena, and is an important step in our effort to provide tools for a complete range of surgical applications. The ability to work closely with leading physicians in the various medical specialties is essential to defining and delivering winning surgical visualization products. We believe that the ability to create an enhanced view of key areas of a patient`s anatomy will be one of the most powerful advancements in surgical medicine. We are honored to have the opportunity to work with Dr. DeBakey, Dr. Reardon, Dr. Brunicardi and the Baylor College of Medicine. These individuals and the institution that they represent are revered by their colleagues and acknowledged in their profession as innovators and pioneers.``

Danke s`Zwerg! Will man etwas größer machen, wird es unpraktischer, schwerer usw., also muß eine neue Technik her.

Marktkapitalisierung gering. Ich wuerde nur mit Limit kaufen. Meine NMGC Anteile
habe ich ueber die Nasdaq gekauft.

Was ist Laser?
Michael_III
ps.

jeder potentielle Kunde einmal.

Bin gespannt, was da dahintersteckt.......

www.biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mvis.htm
Ruhig mal alles durchstudieren!

Abend!

email bitte an: bernie007@gmx.de

Former U.S. Army Chief of Staff General Dennis J. Reimer Joins Microvision Board of Directors
Reimer Brings Decades of Leadership, Information Technology Experience
BOTHELL, Wash., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Microvision, Inc. (Nasdaq: MVIS - news) today announced that General Dennis J. Reimer, has been unanimously elected to its Board of Directors. A visionary in marrying high technology and national defense, Reimer recently retired as the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, the highest-ranking officer in the Army and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Reimer fills the board seat vacated by renowned visual effects innovator Douglas Trumbull who will shift his focus to forming and leading Microvision`s newly created technical advisory board. Microvision board membership remains at nine.
General Reimer`s military and operations career spans nearly 30 years. Serving from 1995 to 1999, as Chief of Staff, of the U.S. Army, Reimer is internationally recognized as a force in bringing digitization to the U.S. Army. General Reimer`s ``Army After Next`` vision provided a strategic focus for modernization of the Army to meet rapidly changing operational requirements, through the application of information technology. He developed leadership, mentoring and training programs and established the strategic vision, core competencies and information technology plan for the next 20 years. As a senior military spokesperson for the Army and member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Reimer worked closely with the President, Secretary of Defense, Congress and international, national and state leaders to detail the Army`s mission and requirements.
``General Reimer has had a unique strategic perspective on how information technology can be deployed to increase knowledge and productivity, in combat operations, and in a broad variety of logistics, maintenance and support activities,`` said Rick Rutkowski, president and CEO of Microvision. ``The Army continues to be an important customer for Microvision, not only because of their particular requirements for advanced displays in airborne, armoured and dismounted environments, but because their emerging needs are a very accurate indicator of where the rest of the world is headed. General Reimer`s views and experience in information technology planning, coupled with his extensive experience in government and industry partnering will inform our strategic plans for revolutionizing mobile platforms for computing and communication. I look forward to his active participation in Microvision`s future.``
``The combination of computing, communications, and sensor technology has given us an extraordinary ability to collect, process and disseminate huge amounts of information,`` Reimer said. ``The next important step is to improve the means by which we present that information to users. New kinds of user interfaces enabled by Microvision`s Retinal Scanning Display are going to add a powerful new dimension to virtually every use and application of electronic information. If that sounds like a big idea it`s because it is! I believe that the technology and products enabled by this company will have a profound and positive impact on our information-hungry world. I`m looking forward to serving Microvision`s shareholders and to contributing to the continued success of a very exciting enterprise.``

Ohio Surgeons Test Goggles
By JAMES HANNAH Associated Press Writer
KETTERING, Ohio (AP) - The future of brain surgery just might be strapped around a plastic foam bust in an operating room at Kettering Memorial Hospital.
The helmet-like device with square-framed goggles and reflective lenses is waiting to play its part in another operation.
``It is going to be useful,`` said neurosurgical specialist Tim Gillum, who has worn the device during an operation. ``Nobody else I know of is using this technology.``
The goggles project computer-generated images and data into the surgeon`s eye. Called Virtual Retinal Scanning technology, it uses low-power laser beams to paint rows of pixels onto the retina, creating a high-resolution, full-motion image that appears to be an arm`s length away.
The prototype, which is being tested by the hospital, is designed to allow surgeons and surgical assistants to operate without having to stop and look up at computer screens to read a patient`s vital signs, tumor scans and other data that could affect the operation.
Martin Satter, a physicist with the hospital`s Wallace-Kettering Neuroscience Institute, said surgeons sometimes have to swivel their heads so often, it looks like they`re watching tennis.
``We were looking for some new technology to kind of break through this problem,`` he said.
Satter checked the Internet and found the Web site of Microvision Inc (NasdaqNM:MVIS - news)., a Bothell, Wash.-based company that made retinal-display products for the military.
Satter talked the company into developing goggles for the medical field. Several members of Congress helped get funding for the project through a cooperative agreement with the Air Force.
Researchers at nearby Wright-Patterson Air Force Base helped develop the technology in the 1980s so pilots can fly with their heads up.
``We really got the first of these devices that wasn`t planned for military use,`` said Satter.
U.S. Rep. David Hobson helped hospital officials get $4.9 million in federal money to help fund the project. The Ohio Republican has long been interested in transferring technology developed by the military to the private sector.
``This looked to me like a good one,`` said Hobson. ``I thought it was a win-win for everybody.``
Hobson said the goggles might eventually be of use to the Veterans Administration and federal health agencies. In addition, he said, the military might get some new ideas on how to use the technology.
Steve Lake, president of the Dayton Regional Development Alliance, said it is a good example of technology transfer.
``And it`s a way to develop our region as a high-tech area,`` said Lake.
Surgeons wearing the goggles can focus on the surgery while images of critical data float right before their eyes. The images are transparent and do not obstruct the surgeon`s view, Satter said.
He said the goggles should not only reduce fatigue created by the constant head-swiveling but also enable surgeons to respond faster to any problems.
Dr. Theodore Bernstein said he has used the goggles for short periods during surgeries. ``It`s a very interesting way of looking at things,`` Bernstein said. ``You can look through the display at the patient.`` But not everyone is convinced of the value of such goggles at a time when hospitals are under pressure to reduce costs.
``It sounds as if you`ve got an interesting technology looking for a reason to exist,`` said Dr. Joseph Piepmeier, professor of neurosurgery at Yale University`s medical school. ``The most useful tool a surgeon has is between his ears.``
Piepmeier said vital-sign data is not something he would normally look up to check ``unless the roof was caving in.`` However, he said the goggles could be helpful if they displayed the right information.
``There`s an enormous outpouring of technology that`s being transferred to the operating room, and this is just a piece of that,`` he said. ``It probably expands capabilities.``
Microvision spokesman Matt Nichols said the goggle systems, depending on the quality of computers and lasers included, could cost anywhere from $10,000 to more than $100,000 when they go on the market.
``It`s not just a technology looking for a home,`` Nichols said. ``What we`re looking at is a marketplace coming to us saying we have a problem.``
Nichols said Baylor College of Medicine in Texas has agreed to test the technology in heart and abdominal surgery.
Surgeons at Kettering are expected to continue testing the prototype helmet on selected surgeries over the next few months and let Microvision know how it can be improved.
``We haven`t yet ironed out all the bugs,`` said Satter, adding that the helmet can get heavy after a while.

Xybernaut Corporation (Nasdaq: XYBR), the leader in wearable computing
solutions. Under the agreements the companies will collaborate on
co-marketing a wearable-computing system featuring the world`s first fully
daylight-readable and "see-through" virtual display to a common group of
target customers. The initial focus of the relationship is to sell systems
featuring Xybernaut`s Mobile Assistant(R) IV (MA IV(R)) wearable computer
interfaced with Microvision`s wearable "augmented vision" displays for use in
a variety of medical and industrial applications for mobile computing.
The companies have also agreed to collaborate on the technical
specification of a new display connection interface to optimize performance
and quality of wearable computing systems.
Rick Rutkowski, Microvision president and CEO said, "We are excited to
announce this very important collaboration between Microvision and Xybernaut.
Both companies are pioneers in delivering new kinds of products that deliver
improved access to electronic information for a broad range of applications.
Microvision has recently entered the beta phase of a wearable display product
launch in which we have demonstrated systems using Xybernaut`s MA IV(R), with
very positive results. As Microvision prepares the launch of this product,
Xybernaut`s strong and highly visible presence in mobile computing will
provide a powerful complement to our own sales and marketing efforts."
Edward G. Newman, president and CEO of Xybernaut Corporation, added,
"Microvision continues to advance the state-of-the-art in wearable display
technologies for an impressive, and rapidly growing, customer base across
aerospace, defense, medical and industrial markets. We fully expect that our
combined offerings will enhance our respective leadership positions in the
market place."

Morgen liam_ank!

Xybernaut jumps on patent
By Tiffany Kary ZDII
Xybernaut Corp. (Nasdaq: XYBR), a maker of wearable computing devices, soared 11 percent Thursday after it said it has been issued a U.S. patent for what company believes is a breakthrough for mobile computing.
After four years of development and patent applications, Xybernaut said it won a patent for "transferable core" technology. Shares rose over 60 percent Wednesday, when the company first announced the patent.
The transferable core, which will be smaller than a PDA, or Personal Digital Assistant, contains the brains of a PC -- its processor, memory and storage and I/O circuitry -- everything but the power supply and display.
Mobile computing has been a hot sector recently, with the maker of popular PDA, Palm, making its public debut in an IPO Thursday.
Xybernaut`s transferable core means that business users and consumers will not need separate devices, such as PDAs, desktop PCs, laptops, cell phones, and pagers. Xybernaut calls the development a breakthrough in mobile convergence, since it will allow users to easily insert and remove the "brains" of their computing or communications device from one device to another -- including its memory, processor, operating system and applications.
"Mobile convergence has been a hot buzzword in recent months, but this is the first time anyone has developed a way to bring everything together in one package,`` noted Edward G. Newman, president and CEO of Xybernaut.
Corresponding patents have been filed in 26 countries for U.S. patent (#6,029,183), the company said.
Xybernaut`s other products include its patented wearable computer, called the Mobile Assistant IV, a full-function Pentium PC that runs Microsoft MS-DOS, Windows, and Windows NT, along with UNIX, Linux and other operating systems that run on the Intel x86 architecture.
Stell Dir vor du ziehst dir deine Jacke an setzt deine Brille auf und here we go Cyberspace!

Du kannst Dir ja obige Werte mal ansehen.

Donner Corp. International Reiterates its Buy
Recommendation on Xybernaut Corporation
SANTA ANA, Calif., March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is being issued
by Donner Corporation International, a member of the National Association of
Securities Dealers, CRD number 37702.
Donner Corp. International, an Investment Banking firm headquartered in
Santa Ana, California, today reiterated its Buy Recommendation on Xybernaut
Corporation (Nasdaq: XYBR), Fairfax, Virginia. Xybernaut holds the largest
number of patents in the wearable computer industry and is recognized as the
leader in wearable computing and mobile convergence solutions with numerous
Fortune 500 customers.
Donner cited several recent developments for reiterating its Buy
Recommendation:
-- Xybernaut reported a 382% increase in revenues for year ended
December 31, 1999 compared to the prior year. Revenue for fourth
quarter increased 481% compared to the same period prior year. Donner
said it believes the dramatic increase in revenue is the beginning of
accelerated growth as general acceptance of Xybernaut products and
technologies continues.
-- Xybernaut and Microvision, Inc. (Nasdaq: MVIS), the leader in retinal
scanning display technology, will collaborate on co-marketing a
wearable-computing system for medical and industrial workers featuring
the world`s first fully daylight-readable and "see-through" virtual
display. "This new PC-to-Display Interface sets the stage for
establishing a standard in the industry," Donner said.
-- Xybernaut has been granted a patent for a "transferable core" which the
Company believes will radically change mobile computing. Business
users and consumers will be able to easily insert and remove the
"brains" -- memory, processor, operating system and applications --
from one computing or communications device to another. The
"transferable core" unit becomes a true personal computer. Donner
said, "Xybernaut`s `transferable core` technology has the potential to
revolutionize the computer and communications industries."
-- Xybernaut is the leader in the hands-free wearable computer market with
25% of Fortune 100 customers including IBM, Ford and General Electric.
Key industries are using Xybernaut products including manufacturing,
distribution, transportation, government and utilities.
-- CNBC`s "The Edge," a daily segment that tracks emerging cutting-edge
products and technologies, recently featured Xybernaut`s Mobile
Assistant(R) IV (MA IV(R)) wearable PC in action at a GE Power Systems`
turbine manufacturing plant. This segment shows how a Fortune 100
company is saving time and money using wearable computers. The
(MA IV(R)) was also recently featured in an episode on Fox Networks`
"The X-Files." "Xybernaut products are getting more exposure and
recognition. Wall Street is beginning to take notice of Xybernaut`s
potential as the leader in the multi-billion dollar wearable computing
and mobile convergence solutions market," Donner said.
"We believe that Xybernaut is in the forefront of the new generation of
wireless wearable computers that could take significant market share from
traditional desktop and notebook personal computers and believe Xybernaut`s
`transferable core` technology has the potential to revolutionize the mobile
computing market," Donner said.

Xybernaut Shares Decline 25% After Auditor`s Warning (Update2)
By David Evans
Xybernaut Shares Decline 25% After Auditor`s Warning (Update2)
(Updates with shares falling in after-hours trading.)
Fairfax, Virginia, March 17 (Bloomberg) -- Xybernaut Corp.
shares fell 25 percent after its outside auditor warned of
``substantial doubt`` about the wearable computer maker`s ability
to continue as a going concern because of continuing losses and
need for more capital.
Shares of the Fairfax, Virginia-based company have increased
more than 20-fold since September as the company announced a sale
to Firestone Building Products Co. and said it was in talks with
several ``world class`` technology companies, including
International Business Machines Corp., about joint projects.
The stock fell 5 7/16 to 16 9/16 in trading of 7.5 million
shares, almost three times its three-month average daily trading
volume. That values its 36.7 million shares at more than $600
million. They fell as low as 14 3/4 trading on electronic
exchanges after the 4 p.m. New York close.
Grant Thornton LLP issued its caution about Xybernaut`s
future in a letter dated Feb. 25. The letter was filed by the
company today with the Securities and Exchange Commission in its
annual report. Grant Thornton was hired after the company fired
its prior auditor, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP on Sept. 13. That
accounting firm issued a ``going concern`` warning to the company
last year.
``The company feels comfortable`` with the fundraising done
since year`s end,`` Xybernaut Controller Tom Davis said in an
interview.
Grant Thornton cited Xybernaut`s ``recurring losses from
operations`` and said the company, which has accumulated losses of
$48 million, will need more cash to fund its operations.
The annual report also revealed funding arrangements for the
$13 million Xybernaut raised so far this year, including shares
sold for well below market price.
It sold 647,500 unregistered shares in January for $2.46
million, for an average price of $3.80 a share. That`s less than
half the $11.20 average weighted price for the 60.1 million shares
traded in January, according to Bloomberg analytics.
Davis declined to give the dates or the market price of the
free trading stock when the unregistered shares were sold.
Xybernaut also borrowed $3 million in January at 10 percent
interest. The unidentified lenders received an added inducement:
warrants to buy 302,500 shares of stock at 10 cents a share.
In January and February, the company received $7 million as
it issued 1,867,700 shares at an average price of $3.79 to
investors exercising warrants received in prior financings.
An additional $618,970 was raised from employees and
consultants exercising stock options for 231,842 shares, at an
average price of $2.67.
As the company reported in a press release earlier this week,
its 1999 loss widened to $16.8 million, or 78 cents a share from
$13.1 million, or 80 cents. Average shares outstanding increased
to 23.8 million from 17.7 million.
Revenue increased to $3.3 million from $875,560.
Xybernaut had a ``negligible`` backlog of orders on Dec. 31.
It said it holds 13 U.S. patents, with 12 more pending.
Xybernaut CEO Says Company Is in Strongest Position Ever
FAIRFAX, Va., March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Xybernaut Corporation
(Nasdaq: XYBR), the leader in wearable computing and communications solutions,
today issued an open message from Xybernaut Corporation to its shareholders
and interested parties.
Edward G. Newman, President and CEO noted:
"The Company feels that the drop in stock price on Friday, March 17, was
based on reaction to an article released late Friday afternoon and was not
based on any fundamental change in our operations, prospects or financial
position. This article highlighted a disclaimer or qualification section that
is in our past and current annual reports, and fails to mention the positive
aspects of our performance last year. Such qualifications are very common for
fast growing technology companies and do not indicate that the Company is in
financial trouble. It only means that we will require additional cash to
carry out our ambitious plans to be the leader in what we, and many industry
analysts, expect will be a multi-billion dollar market in the near future.
The article did not accurately nor fairly describe our current position,
financial or market, or our future opportunities. We are in a great position
coming off of our record fourth quarter and fiscal 1999 operating performance.
It`s unfortunate that in an annual report that reported a nearly fourfold
growth in annual sales, that the writer of this article chose to highlight a
qualification that has been present since our IPO in 1996. It is also
unfortunate that the writer of this article did not contact the CEO or the CFO
for comment to make sure that he understood our prospects for the future and
the accounting rules behind going concern qualifications.
To clarify the situation and provide an appropriate perspective, let me
share the following information with you that we sent to shareholders and
interested parties in a XyberFlash Friday evening:
* The Company has never been in a stronger position from a product, sales
or cash position. We currently have approximately $8 million cash on
hand.
* The going concern clause in the audit opinion, which has been in our
reports since the inception of the Company, has never in the past been
considered "newsworthy" until Friday, March 17, one hour before the
market closed when this article was released. As mentioned above, this
clause is common for growing companies and only indicates that "the
Company has incurred recurring losses from operations and will require
additional capital to fund its operations."
* The inclusion of this clause is required by accounting practices for
companies that are in the process of establishing a cash flow history
and is not an opinion that the Company is in financial difficulty. In
the past few years, Xybernaut has raised over $65 million in cash, and
we have amply demonstrated our capability to adequately capitalize the
Company to the benefit of our shareholders and customers alike.
* Xybernaut, and our partners, believe that the marketplace is huge and
developing rapidly. We are confident that we have the financial means
to rapidly take that market and maximize the return for our
shareholders.
* We are not a company at risk, and we have a number of financing
alternatives available to us to ensure that the Company remains
adequately capitalized. In fact, during the first couple of months of
2000 we have raised an additional $13 million.
* We are of the belief that the marketplace has been established largely
by Xybernaut, that our products are world class, and that the likelihood
of success for this company has never been greater. Last year`s
meaningful quarter to quarter revenue growth is part of the basis for
this belief, as is the increasing number of inquiries by customers
interested in the benefits offered by Xybernaut`s wearable computing
solutions.
* We have continued to strengthen our patent position, as demonstrated by
the recent announcement of the granting of the "transferable core"
patents and the existence of over 470 patent applications granted,
allowed and/or pending worldwide.
* We continue to be in serious discussions with numerous major vendors
in both the computer and communication markets.
* The obvious should not be overlooked! The Company is enjoying success,
and management is committed to dominating the huge worldwide marketplace
it has created and maximizing the long-term return for our shareholders.
The release of one article does not change this situation."

(Nasdaq: XYBR), the leader in wearable computing and mobile convergence
solutions with numerous Fortune 500 customers, announced today that its
wearable computing solution will be featured on CNBC`s "The Edge," which will
air at 6 p.m. EST this evening.
"The Edge" is a daily segment that "works to give investors a competitive
`edge` by tracking emerging trends in business and the financial markets. It
delves into new cutting `edge` products and technologies."

CFO, John Moynahan, and key representatives of GE Power Systems. It also
includes an on-site look at Xybernaut`s Mobile Assistant(R) IV (MA IV(R))
wearable PC in action at GE`s turbine manufacturing plant. In addition, GE is
currently using the MA IV in the thermographic inspection of rubber rolls in

maintenance and inspection processes for service delivery for our turbines and

drive productivity and enable our customers to minimize downtime. Xybernaut`s
solution falls in line with this philosophy."
"The fact that CNBC has selected Xybernaut`s hands-free computing solution
for a segment on how a Fortune 100 company is saving time and money using
wearable computers reinforces Wall Street`s recent enthusiasm for our market
leadership in hands-free computing," stated Edward Newman, president and CEO
of Xybernaut. Xybernaut has always led this market, with 25% of Fortune 100
customers, 470 granted and pending patent applications worldwide and the most

December 31, 1999 compared to the prior year. Revenue for fourth

Xybernaut Shares Decline 25% After Auditor`s Warning (Update2)
