GOSSAN`S INWOOD DOLOMITE TESTS POSITIVE FOR MAGNESIUM
Gossan Resources has received positive test results from a characterization study conducted on a mini-bulk sample of Inwood dolomite by Mintek, a leading South African-based mineral and metallurgical technology firm.
A 75-kilogram sample of dolomite was subjected to a variety of tests and measurements by Mintek, confirming the suitability of the Inwood dolomite for magnesium production using the silicothermic process. Testing of Gossan`s high-purity Inwood dolomite found that it was chemically superior in most respects to the benchmark dolomite used by Mintek for technical evaluation, and when calcined, the Inwood dolomite shows favourable behaviour similar to the calcined benchmark.
Mintek is developing an advanced thermal magnesium process based on silicothermic reduction of calcined dolomite. Silicothermic technology is potentially superior to both the Pidgeon and the Magnetherm conventional vacuum processes as it operates at atmospheric pressure and at slightly higher temperatures for better recoveries and throughputs. This new technology will likely provide for substantially larger production units than the Magnetherm process, with expected improvements to capital and operating costs. Manitoba Hydro`s low-cost industrial electricity rates could also provide this energy-intensive project with a significant cost advantage. Gossan`s efforts are being supported by the Manitoba government`s Industry Trade and Mines Branch, which shared in the cost of the characterization study. The company plans to continue with prefeasibility studies to assess the economic potential of producing magnesium from its Inwood dolomite deposit.

The 1640 hectare Inwood Magnesium Property is located in south-central Manitoba. In total Gossan’s regional land package covers 6,245 hectares as its strategy is to hold all of the area’s near-surface beds of high-purity dolomite that are well above the water table.
The results of a 5-hole drill program which was undertaken during the summer of 2003 have yet to be reported upon. A 75-kilogram bulk sample of dolomite was also sent to Mintek in South Africa to assess its amenability to the extraction of magnesium by their new silicothermic process. Positive test results would lead to a pre-feasibility study in order to prepare the property as an attractive target for a major producer.
Results from the drilling program and bulk sample are expected this fall.

Gossan ist auch auf meiner WL. Ich finde die Firma/ Aktie gut. Einzig die Leute dahinter hielten mich bislang von einem Einstieg ab. Aber der Nebel lichtet sich langsam

Die Aktie ist witzig. Es ist absolut ruhig. In den letzten Wochen ging in Deutschland einiges um, ohne daß man irgendetwas über die Aktie gelesen oder gehört hat. Aber wenn man mit einigen Leuten in der "Szene" redet, kennen sie die meisten bzw. haben sie auf der Watch-list. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, daß das nicht von ungefähr kommt und wir noch einiges von der Aktie erwarten dürfen.
