Olympus Pacific Minerals – Das Vietnam-Goldinvestment!

      WKN: 856218

      Akt. Kurs: 0,49 Euro

      52-Wochenhoch: 0,56 Euro

      52-Wochentief: 0,15 Euro

      Einstufung: Strong Buy

      Kursziel 12 Monate: 1,50 Euro

      Hochgradige Goldfunde versprechen enormes Zukunftspotential

Bong Mieu plans to tap more gold mines
      14:19' 12/05/2006 (GMT+7)
Bong Mieu Gold Mining Co. Ltd. plans to put more gold mines into operation in the coming years more than one month the joint venture opened Bong Mieu Mine in the central province of Quang Nam.

The joint venture between Canadia's Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. and two local companies Mideco and Minco looks to start with the Nui Kem Mine next year and the Ho Ray - Thac Trang in 2008, an official of the venture said.

Charles Barclay, director general of Bong Mieu Gold Mining Co. Ltd., confirmed with the Daily that the underground mine Nui Kem was currently being evaluated and was the next target for processing in the operational plant of the company.

The company put the total resource of 1,438,700 tons of ore for the Nui Kem, which is an old mine abandoned in the Second World War.

Barclay said the Ho Ray-Trac Thang were not yet identified as mines but "we are hopeful that we can find enough ore to start up new projects there."

The Nui Kem and Ho Ray-Trac Trang are part of Bong Bieu, which also includes the open pit Ho Gan. Bong Mieu Gold Mining Co. started the mine construction in Ho Gan in 2004 and mining activity in the third quarter of last year.

The company estimated a recoverable reserve of more than six tons of gold in the Ho Gan and Ho Ray-Thac Trang mines.

Barclay said the company had only quarried about 30,000 tons of ore from the Ho Gan as it only started in early January to process the ore. "We eventually will be yielding twelve thousand ounces per annum from the Ho Gan pit."

Barclay revealed Bong Mieu Gold Mining Co. had plans for further exploration around Vietnam as "Vietnam is very prospective and deserves to be explored more than it has been to date," said Barclay, who is also the country manager of Olympus Pacific Minerals.

Olympus Pacific Minerals acquired the Bong Mieu Gold project area covering 30 square kilometers in Phu Ninh District in 1997, and commenced fieldwork on the property in the second half of 2003.

Olympus Pacific Minerals owns the US$25-mil Bong Mieu Holdings Ltd., which is the foreign partner of Bong Mieu Gold Mining Co. in the 80:20 joint venture with Mineral Development Co. (Mideco) and the mineral company Minco.

The company has spent roughly US$15mil on acquisition and exploration. It will pour more money into road, education, health and welfare projects in Bong Mieu Village to benefit the local community

Vietnam near the port of Danang. As a first mover in Vietnam, Olympus is on the fast track to
becoming a leading gold producer and explorer in Southeast Asia and has proven so by
commissioning the first foreign owned gold mine to be operated in Vietnam since the 1940s. Its
management team is strongly committed to Olympus’ vision of making major discoveries in the
      region and increasing shareholder value.
      Bong Mieu Gold Property
During the quarter, Olympus poured its first 8.0 pound gold doré bar which contained 77.7% gold
(90.95 ounces) of and 10.6% of silver (12.41 ounces) after being refined. A second doré bar of
26.1 pounds was refined in May and contained 83.5% and 9.4% (316.5 and 35.6 oz) gold and
silver, respectively. The plant at Bong Mieu is still being fine tuned to achieve maximum gold
recoveries. The expansion from 500 to 800 tonnes per day is planned to proceed once the plant
reaches a steady state and is fully operational for three months.
At Bong Mieu Underground (“BM Underground”), the Company continued the rehabilitation of
previous workings. Subject to further metallurgical testing, the Company believes that higher gold
grade ore (6-9 g/t) from the BM Underground could be processed at the current plant at a rate of
approximately 200 tonnes per day and may result in increased cash flows. BM Underground is
fully permitted to mine and is located within 1 kilometre of the BM Central plant.
At Bong Mieu East, up to May 5, 17 drill holes totalling 1,170 metres have been completed and
assays are pending. This drilling consists of exploration holes in the Thac Trang area and in-fill
and metallurgical holes at the Ho Ray deposit. Trenching was completed to improve exposure in
three main showing areas located northeast of Thac Trang and west of the BM Central mine site.
      Phuoc Son Gold Property
On January 25, 2006, the Company received approval of its Mining Licence for the Dak Sa
Underground deposits located on the Phuoc Son property. The Dak Sa Underground is now fully
permitted and the Company expects to complete the scheduling of development and construction
by the end of June 2006.
The Measured and Indicated Resource at the North Deposit (Dak Sa) increased approximately
80% following an internal resource update based on the drilling completed in 2005. The resource
at Phuoc Son now stands at 203,700 ounces at an average grade of 13.6 g/t. The North Deposit
remains open with substantial potential to add further resources.
The 2006 Phuoc Son drill program commenced on April 24, 2006. Three drill rigs are currently
active. The potential for significant resource expansion at Dak Sa is excellent and the trend has
now been defined over a total strike length of approximately five kilometres.

      General
On April 3, 2006, the Company started trading its common shares on the Toronto Stock
Exchange continuing under the symbol “OYM”. Applications for additional properties in Vietnam
and adjacent countries have been filed and other acquisition and expansion opportunities are
currently being reviewed by the management in the region and elsewhere.
      Results of Operations
As at March 31, 2006, the Company was still in the process of commissioning its gold plant at
Bong Mieu. Full production has yet to be attained on this property, therefore, does not have
significant revenues or cash flows from operations. Up to the date of this Management
Discussion and Analysis, two doré bars were produced via the commissioning process and the
proceeds of approximately US$275,000 were credited against the pre-production expenses.
During the quarter ended March 31, 2006, the Company’s total operating expenses of $921,961
representing an increase of $477,932 compared to $444,029 for the same period a year earlier.
The difference is principally due to: a non-cash increase of $144,199 in stock-based
compensation related to the grant of options which vested during the year; $124,468 increase in
regulatory fees due to the TSX listing; $97,035 in management fees and salaries mainly related to
the addition of new staff; $63,184 in travel expenses related to the mine opening ceremony in
Vietnam in March 2006 and the temporary relocation cost of our CEO in Toronto and; $35,066 in
investor relations and promotion for a presentation in the first quarter of 2006.
Other items such as interest income decreased by $3,807 to $2,164 for the first quarter ended
March 2006 as the average invested cash balance was lower during this period than last year’s.

      Resources
      Liquidity and Capital Resources
Until the Company has its BM Central mine in full commercial production, the Company receives
cash for use in operations mainly from the issuance of common shares, the exercise of
warrants/stock options, investment income generated by its cash position and the occasional sale
of selected assets. To date, two doré bars were produced via the commissioning process and
      the proceeds of approximately US$275,000.
During the last quarter, Olympus increased its cash position by $14,826,463. The increase was
mainly due to a $15,660,000 private placement closed on March 31, 2006 where the Company
issued 27,000,000 shares at $0.58. The net proceeds will be directed mainly to exploration
activities in Southeast Asia, the rehabilitation of the BM Underground, early stage development of
the Dak Sa deposits at Phuoc Son and for general corporate purposes. In February 2006, the
Company also entered into a US$2.0 million loan facility (the “Facility”) with Macquarie Bank
Limited (“MBL”) of Sydney, Australia. The Company drew down the US$2.0 million in the first
quarter. The Facility bears an interest rate of LIBOR plus 2.75% and is repayable on June 30,
2007 but may be extended to June 30, 2008 at the option MBL. In consideration for setting up the
facility, MBL was paid a US$50,000 fee and was granted 5,376,092 purchase warrants to acquire
the same number of common shares of the Company at an exercise price of $0.4347 until June
30, 2007 and $0.4514 until June 30, 2008, if the loan is extended. The Company can also
accelerate conversion of the warrants if its common shares trade at a 100% premium to the
exercise price for 30 consecutive trading sessions.

On March 21, 2006, the Company issued 3,406,758 common shares to Zedex in full repayment
of the US$1,024,000 advance exploration contributions repayable. This amount was originally
owed to Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. but on January 1, 2006, Ivanhoe assigned it to Zedex Minerals.
Because such payment in cash would reduce the Company’s working capital to less than $1
million, the Company was entitled to settle such remaining amount by issuing common shares of
the company having an aggregate market value equal to such remaining amount, determined on
the basis of the average closing price of the Company’s shares over the preceding 20 trading
      days.
Also during the quarter ended March 31, 2006, Olympus invested $1,442,439 in exploration and
development expenses, $94,712 in acquisitions of fixed assets.
The Company received its mining permit at Phuoc Son on January 25, 2006. The cost for
construction and working capital of approximately US$12 million is currently being updated. Any
significant changes will be communicated upon completion. The Company expects that the mine
at Phuoc Son should be operational 18-24 months after the beginning of construction. The
Company will evaluate how these required funds will be raised and, currently, debt financing
looks like the most favourable option taking into account the short payback of the project.
The Company has been successful in accessing the equity markets in the past; and, while there
is no guarantee that this will continue to be available, management has no reason to expect that it
will not be able to access the equity markets in the future. The ability of the Company to continue
operations beyond 2006 is dependent upon obtaining the necessary funding to continue its
exploration programs or the realization of proceeds from the sale of one or more of its properties
      and/or assets.
      Transactions with Related Parties
During the quarter ended March 31, 2006, the Company entered into the following transactions
      with related parties:
      a) Paid or accrued $3,635 in legal fees to a company controlled by a director of the
      Company.
      b) Paid or accrued $127,063 in management fees and $40,285 in reimbursement of
expenses incurred on behalf of the Company to companies controlled by officers of the Company
These transactions were in the normal course of operations and were measured at the exchange
value which represented the amount of consideration established and agreed to by the related
      parties.
      Other Information
      Outstanding Share Data
As at May 11, 2006, the Company had issued and outstanding 164,147,958 common shares or
      182,997,157 on a fully diluted basis (December 2005 – 131,846,200 and 144,414,867,
respectively). Included in the fully diluted number are 7,266,092 warrants and 11,583,107 stock
      options.
      Critical Accounting Estimates
The Company’s consolidated financial statements have been prepared in accordance with
Canadian GAAP. A comprehensive discussion of Olympus’ significant accounting policies is
contained in note 2 of the audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2005
and note 2 of the unaudited financial statements for the quarters ended March 31, 2006 and
      2005.

Critical accounting estimates used in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements
include the Company’s estimate of recoverable value of its mineral properties and related
deferred exploration and development expenditures as well as the value of stock-based
compensation. All of these estimates involve considerable judgement and are, or could be,
affected by significant factors that are beyond the Management’s control.
The factors affecting stock-based compensation include estimates of when stock options and
compensation warrants might be exercised and the stock price volatility. The timing for exercise
of options is out of the Company’s control and will depend upon a variety of factors including the
market value of the Company’s shares and financial objectives of the stock-based instrument
holders. The Company has used historical data to determine volatility in accordance with the
Black-Scholes model; however, the future volatility is uncertain and the model has its limitations.
The Company’s recoverability of the recorded value of its mineral properties and associated
deferred expenses is based on market conditions for minerals, underlying mineral resources
associated with the properties and future costs that may be required for ultimate realisation
through mining operations or by sale. The Company is in an industry that is dependent on a
number of factors, including environmental, legal and political risks, the existence of economically
recoverable reserves, the ability of the Company and its subsidiaries to obtain necessary
financing to complete the development and future profitable production or the proceeds of
      disposition thereof.
      Off-Balance Sheet Arrangements
The Company has no off-balance sheet arrangements.
      Use of Financial Instruments
The Company has not entered into any specialized financial agreements to minimize its
investment risk, currency risk or commodity risk. The principal instruments affecting the
Company’s financial condition and results of operations are currently its cash. The excess cash
balances are invested in short-term investments. Foreign currency exposure is minimized by
timely conversions of Canadian dollars into United States dollars, such amounts representing
approximately six months of requirement. The gold produced in Vietnam is being refined in
Switzerland and sold at the London Bullion Market AM fixing.
      Disclosure Controls and Procedures
Management has established and maintained disclosure controls and procedures for the
Company in order to provide reasonable assurance that material information relating to the
Company is made known to it in a timely manner, particularly during the period in which the
annual filings were being prepared. As of the date of this report, management, including the
President, Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer, has evaluated the
effectiveness of the Company’s disclosure controls and procedures, as defined in Multilateral
Instrument 52-109, and believes them to be effective in providing such reasonable assurances.
      Risk Factors and Uncertainties
The business of mineral exploration and extraction involves a high degree of risk. Few properties
that are explored are ultimately developed into production. Exploration activities rely on
professional judgments and statistically based tests and calculations and often yield few
rewarding results. At present, two of the Company’s properties have a known body of
commercial ore. In addition to specific risks disclosed throughout this discussion, other risks
facing the Company include competition, reliance on third parties, environmental and insurance
risks, political instability, statutory and regulatory requirements, metal prices and foreign currency
fluctuations, share price volatility, and title risks. Mineral properties are often non-productive for

reasons that cannot be anticipated in advance and operations may be subject to risks including
labour disputes, environmental hazards, safety issues, geological issues, weather conditions, and
changing regulatory requirements as examples. The Company is subject to competitive risk as its
ability to finance its activities and generate profitable operations or proceeds from disposal of
assets are subject to the world price for the precious metals and the economic forces that
influence capital markets. As a result the securities of the Company must be considered
speculative. A prospective investor in the Company should carefully consider the following
      factors:
      Regulations and Mining Law
Mining operations and exploration activities are subject to extensive local and overseas’ laws
and regulations governing exploration, development, production, taxes, labour standards,
occupational health, waste disposal, protection and remediation of the environment,
reclamation, mine safety, toxic substances and other matters. Compliance with such laws and
regulations increases the costs of planning, designing, developing, constructing, operating and
closing mines and other facilities. It is possible that the costs and delays associated with
compliance with such laws and regulations could become such that the Company would not
proceed with or would postpone the development and operation of a mine or mines.
      Environmental Factors
All phases of the Company’s operations are subject to environmental regulation in the various
jurisdictions in which they operate. Environmental legislation is evolving in a manner which
will require stricter standards and enforcement, increased fines and penalties for noncompliance,
more stringent environmental assessments of proposed projects, and a
heightened degree of responsibility for companies and their officers, directors and employees.
There is no assurance that future changes in environmental regulation, if any, will not
adversely affect the Company’s operations or result in substantial costs and liabilities in the
      future.
      Permits and Licences
The operations of the Company may require licences and permits from various governmental
authorities. Obtaining the necessary governmental permits is a complex and time-consuming
process involving numerous jurisdictions. There can be no assurance that the Company will
be able to obtain all necessary licences and permits that may be required to carry out
exploration, development and mining operations at its projects.
      Title to Assets
Although the Company believes that it holds valid title to properties in which it has a material
interest, there is no guarantee that title to such properties will not be challenged or impugned.
      Metal and Mineral Prices
The Company’s revenues, if any, are expected to be in large part derived from the mining and
sale of gold and by-products. The price of those commodities has fluctuated in recent years,
and is affected by numerous factors beyond the Company’s control including international
economic and political conditions, expectations of inflation, international currency exchange
rates, interest rates, global or regional consumption patterns, speculative activities, levels of
supply and demand, increased production due to new mine developments and improved
mining and production methods. The effect of these factors on the price of commodities
makes it difficult to predict the economic viability of the Company’s operations.
      Governmental Regulation
Exploration, development and mining of the properties will be affected to varying degrees by:
      (i) government regulations relating to such matters as environmental protection, health, safety

      and labour; (ii) mining law; (iii) restrictions on production; price controls; and tax increases;
(iv) maintenance of claims; (v) tenure; and (vi) expropriation of property. There is no
assurance that future changes in such regulation, if any, will not adversely affect the
      Company’s operations.
Government approvals and permits are required in connection with the exploration activities
proposed for the properties. To the extent such approvals are required and not obtained, the
Company’s planned exploration, development and production activities may be delayed,
      curtailed, or cancelled entirely.
Failure to comply with applicable laws, regulations and requirements may result in
enforcement action against the Company, including orders calling for the curtailment or
termination of operations on the properties, or calling for corrective or remedial measures
requiring considerable capital investment. Parties engaged in mineral exploration and mining
activities may be subject to civil and criminal liability as a result of failure to comply with
      applicable laws and regulations.
Amendments to current laws, regulations and permitting requirements affecting mineral
exploration and mining activities could have a material adverse impact on the Company’s
      operations and prospects.
      Exploration and Development
Exploration for gold and other minerals is highly speculative in nature, involves many risks and
frequently is unsuccessful. There can be no assurance that exploration efforts will result in the
discovery of mineralisation or that any mineralisation discovered will result in the definition
reserves. If reserves are developed, it may take a number of years and substantial
expenditures from the initial phases of drilling until production is possible, during which time
the economic feasibility of production may change. No assurance can be given that
exploration programs will result in the definition of reserves or that reserves may be
economically mined. All exploration and development evaluation expenditures incurred by the
Company prior to establishing that a property has economically recoverable reserves are
      capitalized.
The long-term profitability of the Company’s operations will be in part directly related to the
cost and success of its exploration programs, which may be affected by a number of factors,
which are beyond the control of the Company.
      Operating Hazards and Risks
Mineral exploration and mining involves many risks, which even a combination of experience,
knowledge and careful evaluation may not be able to overcome. The work that the Company
proposes to undertake will be subject to all the hazards and risks normally incidental to
exploration, development and production, any of which could result in work stoppages and
damage to persons or property or the environment and possible legal liability for any and all
damage. Fires, power outages, labour disruptions, flooding, explosions and cave-ins, are all
the risks involved in the operation of mines and the conduct of exploration programs.
Although the Company has secured liability insurance and property insurance in an amount
which it considers adequate, the nature of these risks is such that liabilities might exceed
policy limits, the liabilities and hazards might not be insurable, or the Company might elect not
to insure itself against such liabilities due to high premium costs or other reasons, in which
event the Company could incur significant costs or uninsured losses that could have a
material adverse effect upon its financial condition.

      No Dividends
The Company has not paid any dividends on its Common Shares during the past five years.
Any decision to pay dividends on its shares in the future will be dependent upon the financial
requirements of the Company to finance future growth, the financial condition of the Company
and other factors which the board of directors of the Company may consider appropriate in the
      circumstances.
      Dependence on Key Employees
The Company’s future growth and its ability to develop depend, to a significant extent, on its
ability to attract and retain highly qualified personnel. The Company is highly dependent on
the principal members of its senior management group and the loss of their services might
impede Olympus’ business strategy and growth. The loss of one or more key employees
could have an adverse effect on the growth and profitability of the Company.
      Conflicts Of Interest
Certain of the Company’s directors and officers serve or may agree to serve as directors or
officers of other reporting companies or may have significant shareholdings in other reporting
companies and, to the extent that such other companies may participate in ventures in which
the Company may participate, the directors of the Company may have a conflict of interest in
negotiating and concluding terms respecting the extent of such participation. In the event that
such a conflict of interest arises at a meeting of the Company’s directors, a director who has
such a conflict will abstain from voting for or against the approval of such participation or such
      terms.
      Competition
The mineral industry is intensely competitive in all its phases. Olympus competes with many
companies possessing greater financial resources and technical facilities than itself for the
acquisition of mineral concessions, claims, leases and other mineral interests as well as for
the recruitment and retention of qualified employees.
      Future Prospects
A drill programme planned for 2006 is expected to reveal the potential of other known deposits at
Bong Mieu taking into account that the results from the recent IP surveys show excellent drilling
targets and correlate at almost 100% to previous drilling results on the property.
At Phuoc Son, the Company has received its permit for mining at the Dak Sa Underground. The
Company expects to place the deposit in production within 18-24 months from start of
construction. Active exploration programs are also underway at Phuoc Son and Bong Mieu.
Elsewhere in Vietnam, the Company is continuing broad regional reconnaissance programs to
identify other attractive exploration targets. Several applications for exploration licenses have
been filed in Vietnam and other applications are expected to be filed in the near future. The
Company has also lodged an application for an exploration license in Laos.

      Hallo zusammen! :)

Olympus-Excellent Drilling Results At Phuoc Son Indicates Potential Strike Continuity

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 20, 2006) - Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. (TSX:OYM)(FRANKFURT:OP6) is pleased to report additional positive drill results from ongoing exploration on the Phuoc Son Gold property. The company is extremely encouraged with these results. The geological features, which control the gold related mineralization, are now far better understood and a step-out drilling program has already commenced, confirming the model.

Continued drilling at the North Deposit has returned results that have confirmed that the deposit remains open to the north and south. Assays have been received for the initial 5 infill holes of a 6,000-metre drill program, which commenced on April 24, 2006.

Complete assay results from this drilling are set out in the attached tables and include 21.82 g/t gold over 6.14 metres and 48.6 g/t gold over 2.27 metres, in holes 156 and149, respectively.

Mineralization in the deposit area is dominantly hosted within quartz veins and intense silica replacement zones contained within an altered sequence of sedimentary schist, marble and minor ultramafic and mafic rocks that dip moderately to the west.

The Company's 85% owned Phuoc Son Gold property is located in central Vietnam. Phuoc Son to date contains two known deposits (North and South deposits) and is located along the Phuoc Son-Sepon Suture hosting such world-class deposits as Oxiana's Sepon deposit to the east.

Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc., as first mover in Vietnam, is positioned to become a leading gold producer and explorer in Southeast Asia. Olympus is committed to its vision of making major discoveries in the region and increasing shareholder wealth.

      Mr. David Seton reports

SIGNIFICANT EXTENSION OF STRIKE LENGTH AT PHUOC SON

Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. has released additional positive drill results from continuing exploration on the Phuoc Son gold property. The company is extremely encouraged with these results and believes its improved understanding of the ore controls will have significant impact on exploration of the overall tenement.

      Continued drilling at the North deposit has returned results that have: nearly doubled the strike length of the North deposit;
      confirmed the geological model of ore-grade controls to mineralization; 10 of the 14 holes drilled in the North deposit area during 2006 have returned significant grades (see attached assay results table);
established that the North deposit remains open to the north and south; and
a high success or hit rate; only four of 48 holes drilled to date within the ore trend have been under five gram times metres while 25 per cent of the holes have returned intersects greater than 75 grams times metres. Grams times metres calculations are an industry method of assessing the gold content and distribution within a mineralized system; as an example, a 75-gram-times-metre value would be equivalent to intersection of 7.5 g/t gold over a 10-metre width.

      2006-07-25 12:03 ET - News Release

      Mr. David Seton reports

OLYMPUS APPOINTS ACTING CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER AND VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE

Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. is appointing Peter Tiedemann as acting chief financial officer and corporate secretary, and Pamela Campagnoni as vice-president, finance, effective immediately and Aug. 1, 2006, respectively.

Mr. Tiedemann received a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Auckland and has considerable financial and consulting experience spanning some 40 years. His involvement with chief financial officer responsibilities has covered a wide range of companies including Fortune 500 corporations: Canon NZ, Pitney Bowes NZ and DRG New Zealand Ltd. Mr. Tiedemann succeeds Erik Martin who has tendered his resignation as chief financial officer and corporate secretary.

TORONTO, July 25, 2006 - Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. (TSX: OYM,
Frankfurt: OP6) is pleased to report additional positive drill results
from ongoing exploration on the Phuoc Son Gold property. The company is
extremely encouraged with these results and believes our improved
understanding of the "ore" controls will have significant impact on
      exploration of the overall tenement.

Continued drilling at the North Deposit has returned results that have:

      . nearly doubled the strike length of the North Deposit;

. confirmed the geological model of ore grade controls to
mineralization; 10 of the 14 holes drilled in the North Deposit area
during 2006 have returned significant grades (see attached Assay
      Results table);

. established that the North Deposit remains open to the north and
      south; and

. a high success or hit rate; only 4 of 48 holes drilled to date within
the "ore trend" have been under 5 gxm while 25% of the holes have
returned intersects greater than 75 gxm (see attached "gram x metre
figure"). GxM calculations are an industry method of assessing the gold
content and distribution within a mineralized system; as an example, a
75 gxm value would be equivalent to intersection of 7.5 g/t gold over a
      10 metre width.

Assays have been received for 7 additional step-out and infill holes
      and include 7.95 g/t gold over 4.85 metres and 10.81 g/t gold over 2.20
metres, in holes 155 and 165, respectively.

Exploration drilling designed as a "first pass" test of the large scale
potential of the deposit structure returned encouraging results from
areas located approximately 500 metres to the north and 300 metres to
the south of the known deposit. The host deposit structure was
identified, significant alteration encountered (up to 20 m thick in
hole 153) and anomalous gold values obtained, which include 4.95 g/t
gold over 1.22 metres in hole 168.

Assay results from the North deposit and exploration drill programs are
set out in the attached table and figures. To date, 20 holes have been
completed of the 6,000-metre drill program, which commenced on April
24, 2006. Step-out and exploration drilling continues with three rigs
      active on the project.

TORONTO--(MARKET WIRE)--Aug 1, 2006 -- David Seton, Chairman/CEO of Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. (TSX:OYM.TO - News) will be live on MN1 for an exclusive interview with the MN1 radio team August 8, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. CDT.

Olympus is positioned to expand and make major discoveries in a region of the world known for multi-million ounce gold deposits with licenses and applications covering five deposits and advanced, large-scale targets.

Olympus Pacific Minerals officially commissioned its first starter gold processing plant at its Bong Mieu property in April this year, the first modern plant in Vietnam since the French ceased mining the area in the early 1940s. The modular starter plant, which incorporates new technology, was manufactured by Gekko Australia Pty., and has a rated capacity of 500 tpd with provisions to raise capacity to 800 tpd.; the plant was built within budget for $US 5.5M. Olympus' goal is to continue to step up its exploration programs at Bong Mieu and the Phuoc Son properties. Eighteen months after completion of the current Phuoc Son feasibility study, the company will construct its second gold processing plant for start up in early 2008.

Olympus, an emerging producer focused on continued expansion in SE Asia, has exciting exploration opportunities and an experienced management team with a proven track record.

Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 23.361.951 von mao_1 am 08.08.06 23:20:39Eine kurze Zusammenfassung aus den Bullboards!

I listened in on the interview. Unfortunately it wasn't that illuminating. It wasn't David Seton's fault at all it was just that the two interviewers seemed essentially clueless i.e. - "what's a loonie?", "you're from Australia, right?" (he's a New Zealander) etc, etc.

What did emerge was that production did start slowly from the Bong Mieu plant due to some technical issues. However it seems that those have now been resolved and production will be ramping up. Seton said that preparation for the 2nd plant is well underway. Cost will be $USD15 to $20m. He said that exploration is beefing up (5 rigs going)and they expect to make significant discoveries there. He also reconfirmed that OYM has committed itself to proving up a 5 million resouce base and becoming a 500,000 oz per annum producer.

If you believe this of course it would make the shares massively undervalued at current levels.

Vietnam gold mine to become tourist destination :eek:

A central Vietnamese province is preparing to put a centuries-old gold mine on the tourism map.

The Bong Mieu gold mine in Quang Nam province’s Phu Ninh district has been exploited in turn by the Chinese, Vietnamese, and French, and remains productive today.

The province’s Tourism Department wants to make it by 2007 a tourist destination where domestic and foreign travelers can see the vault where the gold is stored after processing, the various techniques used since the beginning to mine and process the precious metal, and others.

They can also catch a glimpse of a modern gold-processing line used now by the Bong Mieu Gold company and buy actual ores with gold as souvenirs.:eek:

But the department’s director, Dinh Hai, admitted following a fam trip of Bong Mieu for domestic travel companies that there were still many problems to be resolved before the gold mine tour could be started.

      http://www.thanhniennews.com/travel/?catid=7&newsid=18770

A schedule for commissioning and construction of the second operation at Phuoc Son is expected to be completed during the third quarter of this year and the project is anticipated to come on stream within 18 months thereafter.

As indicated in my last post I caught up this weekend with a broker friend of mine who knows the company well.

Expecting the worst, in light of the recent shareprice movement, I've got to say that I was very much encouraged. It seems the plant is now running up to specifications and higher grade feed has started being processed. Monthly gold shipments are now being made with cashflow coming in the door. Also some great drilling results are being obtained with a major reserve upgrade on its way.

Hope this reassures a few of you who are getting nervous. Just hold tight for a few weeks and I think its all going to work out fine.

"We will have a feasibility report on Phuoc Son next month and we confidently expect to start gold production there in 2008. That mine will produce a bucket-load of cash," said Seton.

Olympus drills 4.54 m of 11.43 g/t Au at Phuoc Son

      2006-09-26 12:44 ET - News Release

      Mr. David Seton reports

OLYMPUS-CONTINUED DRILLING SUCCESS AT PHUOC SON PROPERTY

Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. has provided further positive drill results from continuing exploration on the Phuoc Son gold property. The company plans continued step-out drilling to potentially expand the resource base of the Phuoc Son project.

At the North deposit, hole 179, located on the northernmost drill section, extended the mineralized zone and returned assays of 10.99 grams per tonne gold over 3.01 metres.

Drilling approximately 250 metres south of the North deposit returned significant gold values of 4.95 g/t gold over 1.22 m (refer to Stockwatch news dated July 25, 2006) and 8.2 g/t gold over 1.5 m in holes 168 and 46 extension, respectively.

Additional step-out drilling is under way to further expand and delineate the limits of the mineralized system.

Olympus chairman and chief executive officer David Seton stated that the results were extremely significant, "Not only is our resource continuing to grow with the completion of each drilling program but also the discovery of mineralization between the two deposits as well as the strike extensions are suggesting the potential for a much larger resource."

      Tuesday, September 26, 2006

      Overview of Olympus

Olympus has $c15 million cash in the bank as the result of a March 2006 private placement. The funds have enabled the company to focus on its primary goal: to make a major gold discovery in central Vietnam through its aggressive drilling programs. There are currently five rigs operating in the field--two at Bong Mieu and three at Phuoc Son.

The company recently published favorable drill results and expects to have more drilling news this fall. The developmental stage of the Bong Mieu pilot gold plant is progressing well and gold production is increasing each month with full production expected in the fourth quarter of 2006. David Senton (CEO of Olympus) has recently been quoted as saying they are now producing 650 ounces a month from Bong Mieu and expects to be producing 20000 ounces of gold annually next year.

Cash flow from the pilot plant production will be allocated towards further exploration at Bong Mieu. Partial funding will be dedicated towards a production facility at Phuoc Son. The company is finalizing the latter property's feasibility study for completion in the fourth quarter of 2006. Production at Phuoc Son should follow within 18 to 24 months.

The potential for significant resource expansion at the Phuoc Son deposits is excellent. Drill results in 2005--such as 134.72 g/t gold over 2.51 metres and 6.86 g/t over 9.45 metres--outside the deposit's area suggest the high potential of Olympus' properties. From these findings and other exploration activities the "productive" Phuoc Son deposit trend is now defined over a total strike length of approximately 5 km.

Olympus is well positioned for success as an emerging producer with its current mine development at Bong Mieu mine. The company is an aggressive explorer in areas of known mineralization and has an experienced management team focused on making major gold discoveries throughout southeast asia.

      Olympus-Continues Further Vietnam Exploration Success
Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. (TSX: OYM)(FRANKFURT: OP6) -

      HIGHLIGHTS:

      - Drilling intersects significant Gold-Tungsten mineralization at Bong Mieu.

      - Surface work outlines new areas of mineralization highlighting the Property's excellent, near surface potential for additional major discoveries and resource expansion.

      - Continues on from recent exploration success at Company's second project at Phuoc Son.

Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. (TSX: OYM)(FRANKFURT: OP6) is pleased to report significant exploration results from ongoing exploration on the Bong Mieu Gold property.

      Drill Program

Olympus has recently completed 3,020 metre drill program consisting of 66 shallow holes in the Bong Mieu East deposit area. Drilling results from the program indicate:

      - significant tungsten mineralization is associated with the gold bearing zone,

      - gold-tungsten (W) grades up to 21.5 g/t gold, 0.79% W for a 30.12 g/t gold equivalent grade over 4.0 metres,

      - the associated tungsten greatly enhances the potential value of the mineralization, and

      - 275 metre step-out (hole 183) to the north of the BM East deposit encountered similar gold mineralized lithologies, thus significant untested potential exists to the north.

Representative material from both sulfide and oxide ore types has been sent to SGS Lakefield Research (Lakefield) in Canada for preliminary metallurgical test-work. The results of the metallurgical test-work and the updating of the Bong Mieu East resource estimates will be released once available.

The mineralization is hosted by highly altered, veined and sulfide bearing skarn, granite gneiss and schist rocks that dip moderately to the northeast. Assay highlights from the recent phase of drilling are outlined in the table attached to this release. Tables of complete drill assay results can be viewed at http://www.ccnmatthews.com/docs/East-Deposit-Drilling-progra…

      Surface Exploration

Field exploration programs consisting of geological mapping, prospecting and trenching on the property has identified three new areas of favorable alteration and mineralization warranting further detailed exploration work and drill testing. These surface results indicate the excellent, large-scale, near surface potential of the property.

      - Trenching programs returned results of 1.86 g/t gold over 14.0 metres and 8.43 g/t gold over 5.0 metres (Thac Trang NE).

      - Surface sampling over a 450 metre by 200 metre area has outlined significant alteration with anomalous gold values including 26.90 g/t gold from grab samples

      (Northwest Prospects).

      - Channel sample results include 56.90 g/t gold over 1.2 metres and 12.54 g/t gold over 0.70 metres (South Trend Prospects).

      - The Company's President, Colin Patterson, said "the ongoing exploration success at Bong Mieu continues to support our decision to build the Bong Mieu Central plant as a pilot operation. We have proven we can operate in Vietnam and that validates our team and the country. Now, as we don't know how large this project could ultimately be, we will need to carefully evaluate any operational expansion plans to ensure that future production capacities are maximized.

      - "The real exploration potential of our properties is now being shown." Patterson added, "the company can look forward to realizing the full value of its world-class exploration assets in the region."

The Company's 80% owned Bong Mieu Gold property is located in central Vietnam. Bong Mieu to date contains three known deposits and is located along the Phuoc Son-Sepon Suture hosting such world-class deposits as Oxiana's Sepon deposit to the east.

Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc., as first mover in Vietnam, is positioned to become a leading gold producer and explorer in Southeast Asia. Olympus is committed to its vision of making major discoveries in the region and increasing shareholder wealth.

Unless otherwise noted, the technical information in this release has been prepared and/or reviewed by Mr. Roger Dahn, Vice President Exploration, a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The Company employs a quality control program to ensure best practices in sampling and analysis of drill core and rock samples. Mineral Assay and Services Co. Ltd., located in Bangkok, Thailand, performs sample preparation and analyses.

To view a map of the Bong Mieu Gold Property Plan please click on the following link: http://www.ccnmatthews.com/docs/Bong-Mieu-MAP.pdf

Brief highlights of the surface exploration areas are below:

      Thac Trang NE

Located along the 6km long North trend which also hosts the BM East deposits and the Northwest area prospects. Trenching programs returned results of 1.86 g/t gold over 14.0 metres and 8.43 g/t gold over 5.0 metres. Two short drill holes (TTNE 1 & 2) were completed to evaluate the trench area. Significant alteration was encountered with the best assay intervals being 0.56 g/t gold over 0.90 metres and 0.58 g/t over 0.70 metres.

      Northwest Prospects

Also on the westerly extension of the North Trend, sampling over a 450 metre by 200 metre area has outlined significant alteration with anomalous gold values to 26.90 g/t gold in outcrop and float. Of the 84 grab samples collected in this area over 40% returned anomalous values greater than 0.20 g/t gold. Of these samples, 30% were great than 1.0 g/t gold with highs of 3.19 g/t, 5.31 g/t, 6.46 g/t, 7.73 g/t, 11.70 g/t and 26.90 g/t gold.

      South Trend Prospects

Sampling of mineralization recently exposed by local artisan activity returned high grade results from two separate vein systems along the South Trend. The South Trend also hosts the Bong Mieu underground deposit (Nui Kem) and the Central deposit. From Area A, significant channel sample results include 56.90 g/t gold over 1.2 metres and 12.54 g/t gold over 0.70 metres. Activities in Area B, located approximately 1500 metres to the west, have exposed what is interpreted to be the westerly extension of the main Nui Kem orebody on surface. The exposed vein returned assay results of 11.74 g/t gold over 1.0 metres and 2.78 g/t gold over 0.5 metres.

      Notes:

      (1) - All holes were drilled at an inclination of -90 degrees unless otherwise stated.

      (2) - Based on current geological interpretation of the drilling results, true widths approximately reflect 85% core widths. Additional drilling is required before definitive true widths can be determined.

      (3) - All assays were performed by the Mineral Assay and Service Co. Ltd. (MAS Laboratory) located in Bangkok, Thailand using the Fire Assay method on 50 grams of prepared sample. The MAS Laboratory is certified by the Thailand Department of Industrial Works and Ministry of Industry.

(A)- Gold Equivalent g/t values including tungsten (W) credits was calculated at a gold price of $575 US per ounce and tungsten price of $160 US per mt (metric tonne unit) which reflects the 2 year mid-price of the APT European free market quote as supplied by the Metal Bulletin.

      Hi,

habe heute folgendes interessantes Interview im BB entdeckt:

Source: The Sydney Morning Herald, December 28, 2006

...David Seton, chief executive of Toronto-listed gold miner Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc, says a major part of working successfully in Asia is employing locals in management and the workforce.

Olympus, which has key assets in Vietnam, is in the process of taking over Australian peer Zedex Minerals Ltd, which operates in Australia, Vietnam and Laos.

"We have a very strong Vietnamisation policy, where we have qualified people on staff and we're training them on site and sending them overseas as well," he explained.

"There's not shortage of educated people, they just have to be trained up in the industry and having trained them, they work very well."

It's a similar story in Olympus' other key Asian market, the Philippines.

"In the Philippines we're very comfortable because we take a lot of our senior middle management from there and the mining infrastructure in the Philippines is very strong," Mr Seton said.

But perseverance and patience is required.

"Vietnam has very good mining laws, they're just somewhat slow in processing applications," Mr Seton said.

"So I suppose you need some perseverance to stick with it until the bureaucratic blocks have been improved on."

Mr Seton predicts the key areas in Asia in 2007 for exploration will be those where perceptions of political instability have kept foreigners at bay.

"Places that have been overlooked in the last five years because of perhaps a perception of political uncertainties are places like Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia," he said.

"It is the Vietnams, the Philippines, the Malaysias, where the major discoveries are going to be made."

      Olympus drills 41 m of 2.07 g/t Au, 0.60% Cu at Capcapo

      2007-06-05 13:32 ET - News Release

      Mr. David Seton reports

OLYMPUS INTERSECTS FURTHER SIGNIFICANT GOLD & COPPER AT CAPCAPO, NORTHERN PHILIPPINES

Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. has provided assay results from two additional drill holes completed on the Capcapo project, located in Abra province, Northern Luzon, Philippines.

The initial hole, DDH07-09, of Olympus's program intersected extensively altered breccia containing highly anomalous gold and copper mineralization averaging 1.49 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 0.31 per cent copper and 5.6 g/t silver from surface to a depth of 94 metres or 308.4 feet. This interval contained a higher-grade interval of 2.65 g/t gold, 0.23 per cent copper and 7.12 g/t silver from surface to 43.0 metres or 141 feet (Olympus news release in Stockwatch dated April 24, 2007).

Holes DDH07-10 and DDH07-11, which are 50-metre step-outs from hole DDH07-07-09, have both intersected hydrothermal breccia with significant gold and copper mineralization as follows:

Hole DDH07-10 intersected 2.07 g/t gold, 0.60 per cent copper and 7.75 g/t silver over a core width of 41 metres or 134 feet including:
3.33 g/t gold, 1.45 per cent copper and 26.48 g/t silver over six metres; and
      4.02 g/t gold, 1.05 per cent copper and 8.46 g/t silver over 10 metres.
Hole DDH07-11 intersected 1.53 g/t gold 0.35 per cent copper and 2.4 g/t silver over a core width of 47 metres or 154 feet including:
2.55 g/t gold, 0.55 per cent copper and 3.49 g/t silver over a core width of 27 metres; or
      4.05 g/t gold, 0.78 per cent copper and 4.81 g/t silver over 16 metres.

The continuing 2007 program will consist of step-out drilling designed to significantly expand the mineralized zone, as well as ground exploration programs to test and delineated other prospective target areas on the property.

Surface reconnaissance mapping has located mineralized breccia material located in unexplored areas approximately 150 metres south of hole DDH07-09 assaying 3.65 g/t gold and 3.20 g/t gold, and 400 metres east which assayed 0.32 g/t gold from grab samples (Olympus news release in Stockwatch dated April 24, 2007). Mr. David Seton reports

OLYMPUS' BOARD APPROVES SHAREHOLDER RIGHTS PLAN

Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc.'s board of directors has approved the adoption of a shareholder rights plan, subject to TSX Venture Exchange and shareholder approval.

The purpose of the rights plan is to provide shareholders and the company's board of directors with adequate time to consider and evaluate any unsolicited bid made for the company, to provide the board with adequate time to identify, develop and negotiate value-enhancing alternatives, if considered appropriate, to any such unsolicited bid, to encourage the fair treatment of shareholders in connection with any takeover bid for the company, and to ensure that any proposed transaction is in the best interests of the company's shareholders.

The rights issued under the rights plan will become exercisable only if a person, together with its affiliates, associates and joint actors, acquires or announces its intention to acquire beneficial ownership of shares, which, when totalled with its current holdings, total 20 per cent or more of the company's outstanding common shares (determined in the manner set out in the rights plan), other than by a permitted bid. Permitted bids must be made by way of a takeover bid circular prepared in compliance with applicable securities laws and, among other conditions, must remain open for 60 days. In the event a takeover bid does not meet the permitted bid requirements of the rights plan, the rights will entitle shareholders, other than any shareholder or shareholders making the takeover bid, to purchase additional common shares of the company at a substantial discount to the market price of the common shares at that time.

Olympus' 50 Metre Stepout Intersects High-Grade Gold & Copper at Capcapo, Northern Philippines
      HIGHLIGHTS:

Drill results from the 4th hole (DDH07-12) on the main Capcapo deposit intersected significant gold and copper mineralization:

      - 3.06 g/t gold, 0.67% copper and 2.53 g/t silver over a width of 28 meters or 92 feet including:

      - 4.43 g/t gold, 0.91% copper and 3.38 g/t silver over 18 meters

Deposit is open for expansion, step-out drilling continues.

Work to date is evidencing the significant size of the copper gold system at Capcapo, which has similarities to the prolific Baguio-Mankayan Gold - Copper District (approximately 60 million oz. historic production & current resources) located 85 kilometers along strike.

      Holes DDH07- 11, intersect 1.53 g/t gold 0.35% copper and 2.4 g/t silver over a core width of 47 meters or 154 feet including:

      - 2.55 g/t gold, 0.55% copper and 3.49 g/t silver over a core width of 27 meters; or
