UMC Energy plc (“UMC” or “the Company”) has noted the rise in its share price today.



The Company is in the advanced stages of negotiation to acquire an 80 per cent. interest in a Madagascar corporation which owns eight permits to explore for uranium in Madagascar.



This acquisition would represent a reverse takeover (within the meaning of the AIM Rules) for the Company and consequently trading in the Company’s shares on AIM has been suspended until the publication of a re-admission document.
