      Alternative Energy Trader: Buy Alert
      By Jeff Siegel
Last month, Brian Hicks and I took a trip out to California to visit a couple of wind farms operated by Western Wind Corporation (WND.V).

The company currently owns and operates 34.5MW of wind farm assets in California, but is now seeking to expand capacity to 160MW by 2009.

Now here's what I like about the company...

They're expanding capacity in a market that's pretty much guaranteed them long-term power purchase agreements with the utilities. The expansion isn't even done yet, but they already have a buyer!

Better yet, because the utilities are scrambling to beef up their renewable energy generation(because California requires 20% of energy sold to come from renewable sources by the end of 2010), these guys are getting paid top dollar for the juice they send to the grid.

And here's what I really like...

While so many other renewable energy companies are still "building up" capacity, Western Wind's generating revenue right now from capacity that's been in place for decades.

Now before the market melted down, the stock was staging a major comeback after it reached a settlement with Pacific Hydro Limited (in Western Wind's favor) back in June, 2007. In fact, by November, 2007, the stock got as high as $2.19. It moved, and it moved fast.

Today, however, thanks to a market sell-off, the stock is trading back down around $1.65. But overall, it's been weathering this market pretty well.

Over the long-term, this is going to be a major player. But for now, we see an excellent opportunity to pick up shares below $2.00. When the market does come back, we believe this stock will head right back up over that $2.00 mark.

Bottom line: It's the largest producing pure wind energy, publicly-traded company in North America. Plus, over the past couple of years, the company has executed or acquired over $1 billion of power sales agreements from two separate utilities.

Renewable energy investors looking for a way to play the wind energy sector in California's golden renewable energy market will definitely find it here.

So let's pick some up now and wait for the next bounce to take us up over $2.00.

When that happens, we'll re-evaluate our position.

Sprich, was mir das speziell schöne scheint,

"Western Wind Energy secures additional 100 MW project site in California
Thursday February 14, 3:16 am ET

Toronto Venture Exchange Symbol: "WND" Issued and Outstanding: 29,173,968
VANCOUVER, Feb. 14 /CNW/ - Western Wind Energy Corporation ("Western Wind Energy") is pleased to announce that it has secured a new, 100 MW wind energy and solar site located near Barstow, California. This site is located on 2,400 acres and is in an area with proven, high-energy wind speeds. Previous testing indicates a mean average annual wind speed in excess of 9 meters per second or over 20 miles per hour, capable of generating net operating capacity factors in excess of 40 percent. Unlike a number of wind energy developments in the region, this property is not located in a critical habitat area for the Desert Tortoise and therefore, Western Wind Energy anticipates a normal permitting process in achieving production. The Barstow Project is the first announcement of many new acquisitions that Western Wind Energy is currently developing as part of the previously announced "California Initiative." As a result of California's large appetite for renewable energy and the extreme scarcity of sites to satisfy this demand, Western Wind Energy is uniquely positioned to capitalize on this imbalance. Jeff Ciachurski, CEO states "there was tremendous competition from the largest players in the investment banking and energy industries to acquire this exact piece of property. Western Wind's access to proprietary information dating back to the 1970s allowed Western Wind to make and complete the opportunity, literally, a few weeks before our competition. We are extremely proud of this accomplishment."

The Barstow Wind Resource Area is the largest wind resource opportunity in California outside of Palm Springs (San Gorgonio Pass) and Tehachapi. Barstow is also the home of over 400 MWs of solar thermal generating facilities making our site a perfect candidate for the dual purpose of the solar/wind generation profile. Western Wind Energy is currently conducting environmental studies to complete the permitting process. Western Wind Energy is North America's largest producer of pure wind energy. Western Wind Energy currently produces 34.5 MW of clean renewable electrical energy from over 500 wind turbine generators located in Tehachapi (Windridge) and San Gorgonio Pass (Palm Springs), California with annualized energy output is approximately 75 billion watt hours per year. "Nacel Energy "buy"
      Trading INSIDER

(Analyse vom 11.03.2008) (11.03.2008/ac/a/a)"

      "Windenergiemarkt wächst mit hohen Raten
      Berenberg Bank

(20.03.2008/ac/a/m)"

Ongoing negotiations for project financing, turbine delivery and construction funding
Tuesday March 18, 8:01 am ET

Toronto Venture Exchange Symbol: "WND" Issued and Outstanding: 29,378,218
VANCOUVER, March 18 /CNW/ - Western Wind Energy Corporation ("Western Wind Energy") is pleased to announce that it is in ongoing negotiations with several parties regarding funding for the build-out of Western Wind's 120 MW Windstar Project in Tehachapi, California. The parties include affiliates of wind turbine manufacturers and national energy companies with current supplies of wind turbines. Also, included in the funding discussions is the expansion of the Mesa Project, from 30 MW to 50 MW. This new construction totals up to 170 MW of new facilities.

The dynamics of the project economics call for a direct project cost of between $2.3 - $2.5 million per megawatt with a further project developer profit payable to Western Wind Energy for up to $1 million per megawatt or up to $170 million of net present value potential profit payable to Western Wind Energy.

Unlike the financing of Canadian wind energy projects, none of these financing structures in the US involve the sale of corporate equity. The sale of corporate equity is not required in US project finance structures. All equity and potential debt facilities can be done at the project level allowing the corporate parent, Western Wind Energy to remain dilution free during this capital-intensive process.

Pacific Hydro Pty. Limited has agreed to provide an extension of the repayment of the Mesa acquisition loan from the current repayment date of April 28, 2008 to June 24, 2008 in exchange for a $100,000 extension fee. This will allow Western Wind Energy ample time to support adequate process for extracting the best value for the Western Wind Energy shareholder.

Jeffrey Ciachurski, CEO of Western Wind Energy states, "Mesa and Windstar are the most financially lucrative wind opportunities in North America. Each project is blessed with the best wholesale power rates on the continent and coupled with the record setting 9.92 meter per second wind regime at Mesa, which is the highest wind energy resource anywhere on the continent, project economics generate discounted net present values of approximately $1 million per megawatt. With $170 million of profit potential to be negotiated, it is of the utmost importance that we have the adequate time to negotiate the best deal for all of the Western Wind Energy shareholders. The California market has allowed us to build some of the best assets in the wind energy marketplace, own a fleet of over 500 wind turbines in production capacity and yet, have only 29 million shares issued and outstanding."

With no coal production in the State of California, California derives all of its fossil fuel electrical production from oil and gas. California has rightfully decided not to subsidize coal production as the true cost of electrical generation is reflected in the State's energy prices.

Western Wind Energy is North America's largest publicly traded non-income trust producer of pure wind energy. Western Wind Energy has the capacity to produce 34.5 MW of clean renewable electrical energy from over 500 wind turbine generators located in Tehachapi (Windridge) and San Gorgonio Pass (Palm Springs), California with annualized energy output capacity of approximately 70 billion watt hours per year.

Western Wind Energy also has over 145 MW of expansion power sales agreements with the associated projects in the late stages of development. In addition, Western Wind Energy has a credible pipeline of over 1,300 MW of site locations in the State of California. April 03, 2008

Coquitlam, British Columbia - Western Wind Energy Corporation (“Western Wind Energy”) is pleased to announce that Loewen Ondaatje McCutcheon Limited of Toronto, Canada has successfully placed the 6 million shares of Western Wind Energy previously held by Pacific Hydro Pty. Limited of Australia at $2.15 per share.

Western Wind Energy wishes to thank Priya Patil, LLB, Managing Director, Investment Banking of Loewen, Ondaatje McCutcheon Limited (“LOM”) and her team for the superb effort in finding new, long term shareholders for Western Wind Energy. This great effort by LOM brings a diverse base of new shareholders and removes the perceived market overhang that was a limiting factor in the upward movement of Western Wind’s share value.

Mr Jeff Ciachurski, CEO of Western Wind states “LOM’s professionalism, strategic marketing efforts and its focus and dedication to the renewable energy industry has allowed Western Wind Energy’s shareholders to now fully realize the value of the Company’s assets. We congratulate the entire team at LOM.”

As reported in our March 18, 2008 news release, Western Wind is currently engaged in advanced negotiations regarding the financing and build-out of over $350 million of capital investment in wind projects at the project level.

The dynamics of the project economics call for a direct project cost of between $2.3 - $2.5 million per megawatt with a further project developer profit payable to Western Wind Energy for up to $1 million per megawatt or up to $170 million of net present value potential profit payable to Western Wind Energy.

Western Wind Energy is North America’s largest publicly traded non-income trust producer of pure wind energy.

During the past two years, Western Wind Energy has executed or acquired over $1 billion of power sales agreements totaling 145 megawatts from the sale of wind energy electrical generation. Western Wind Energy was the first to execute a "wind" PPA in the State of Arizona, and in California, is expanding from management's 27-year continuous operating history in the Tehachapi Pass.

Western Wind Energy is in the business of acquiring exceptional land sites, capital and technology for the production of electricity from wind energy. Western Wind Energy conducts its operations through its wholly owned subsidiaries in Arizona and California. Management of Western Wind Energy includes individuals involved in the operations and ownership of utility scale wind energy facilities in California since 1981.

WESTERN WIND ENERGY CORP.: Laufende Verhandlungen zur Projektfinanzierung, Turbinenlieferung und Finanzierung der Bauarbeiten

Although Western Wind was offered $228 million for all development rights of its 120 MW Windstar Project including royalty payments pursuant to a land lease, over a 30-year period, Western Wind believes that, given the market for renewable energy, developing its own projects will provide a greater return.

(WKN 157 027, Kurs

WESTERN WIND ANNOUNCES THE STATUS OF ITS VARIOUS PROJECTS AND FINANCING ARRANGEMENTS

      June 04, 2008

Coquitlam, British Columbia - Western Wind has issued several news releases in the past two years announcing the development of new projects and the status of existing projects and financing arrangements. Western Wind is pleased to provide this update on the status of projects and financing that were previously announced.

To more fully understand the renewable energy business and the status of its various development projects, Western Wind provides the following brief primer. For more detailed information on the renewable energy industry, please see Western Wind’s Form 20-F filed with the United States Securities Exchange Commission (“SEC”): www.sec.gov.

Wind energy projects are generally developed according to specific milestones. In addition to the necessary financing, each project must meet the following milestones to be a viable project:

      • Site control, i.e., the land on which the renewable energy generating facility (wind turbines or solar arrays) will be located. For wind farms the amount of land and the distribution of wind speed and direction are determining factors in the number of megawatts that can be generated on a given piece of land. Site control is required to apply for interconnection and transmission service;
      • Transmission access, i.e., executed interconnection and transmission service agreements with transmission line owners and/or operators. Prior to execution of such agreements, the transmission line owners/operators must complete system impact studies showing sufficient capacity is available on the transmission line(s) and facilities studies showing the electrical equipment that must be installed to ensure that the generation facility has no adverse impacts on the reliability and operation of the transmission owner’s system. The interconnection and transmission process in the U.S. follows the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (“FERC”) standard generation interconnection procedures, which generally requires that agreements be executed within approximately 14 months from the date of the interconnection request, barring any unforeseen issues;
      • Power purchase agreements (“PPA”) for the sale of energy generated from the project facility;
      • Zoning, if special zoning required (e.g., wind energy zone or, if unavailable, a conditional use permit) and construction permits. Zone change applications and conditional use permits entail archaeological and environmental surveys to ensure that the generating facility has no significant impact to the environment or adverse impacts on nearby residents;
      • Design and engineering of the project site, including the kinds of wind turbine generators or solar arrays, towers and electrical equipment to be used and the layout of the project. The design and engineering drawings and layouts are then submitted to the applicable local government to obtain building permits;
      • Ordering long-lead items, e.g., turbines or solar arrays and transformers (these items can take a year or more from order date to on-site delivery);
      • Project construction;
      • Testing and commissioning; and
      • Commercial operation.

Profitability of renewable energy generation is based on, among other things, the cost per megawatt (referred to as “CAPEX”), the PPA rate, the energy yield per megawatt (“MW”), the annual operating and maintenance cost (“OMEX”), the number of MWs built and, if PPA prices, as in California, are based on prices of oil or gas at specific delivery points in the U.S., then the price of such fuels at those delivery points. PPAs are generally 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 years in duration in California.

In its October 1, 2007 news release, Western Wind reported that it “has a credible pipeline of over 1,300 megawatts of site locations in the state of California.” Western Wind has identified many sites throughout California that could produce up to 1,300 MW based on the level of wind resource available. We have purchased or leased over 6,500 acres in California to date. The 1,300 MW target is based on the exclusive wind resource package of 66 sites presented to us by one of the leading meteorologists in the wind industry today, Rich Simon, M.S. as part of our California Initiative.

In California and Arizona, Western Wind owns or leases 27,480 acres, which comprises the following projects:

Generating Facility Development Stage Nameplate Capacity
      (MW) Land Resource
      (acres) State
Mesa Wind Farm Producing 30 440 California
Windridge Wind Farm Producing 4.5 192 California
      Windstar Project Late-stage development 120 1,389 California
      Barstow Project Early-stage development 100 3,300 California
      Reef City Early-stage development 40 1,200 California
      Steel Park Late-stage development 15 1,108 Arizona
Steel Park Expansion Early-stage development 200 19,051 Arizona
      Howling Dog Early-stage development 15 360 Arizona
      Red Lake Early-stage development 20 440 Arizona

In addition, Western Wind is currently in the process of acquiring additional sites as part of its California Initiative and due to the proprietary nature of site locations, Western Wind cannot disclose the details about future site locations and estimated capacity.

Estimated nameplate capacity for particular projects can increase or decrease based on the following risk factors: limiting construction factors, such as topography and geography; any future or unknown environmental uncertainties; changes in capital cost items; changes in projected operating and maintenance costs; ability to obtain project financing and market conditions in the debt and project equity markets; interest in power purchase entities to procure specific amounts of energy; changes in local zoning policies; and events of force majeure, such as earthquakes, landslides, etc.

Western Wind has purchased or leased additional sites with potential for solar and wind development in California and Ontario and continues to pursue acquisitions of sites with sufficient wind and/or solar resources.

      Windstar Project, Tehachapi, California

      Site control

Western Wind currently owns 1,389 acres of land in Tehachapi, California sufficient to build its 120 MW Windstar Project.

      Transmission Access

Western Wind has submitted the required applications and expects to have all required transmission agreements executed by early October 2008. Western Wind has executed interconnection and transmission service agreements for the privately owned Sagebrush Line. In accordance with the rules approved by the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Western Wind must construct Windstar by December 31, 2010 to maintain its current queue position with the California Independent System Operator. This date may not be extended. If Western Wind is not in commercial operation by December 31, 2010, it will have to reapply for interconnection and transmission access.

      Power Purchase Agreements

Western Wind has a PPA with Southern California Edison Company, which has been amended from time to time to extend the commercial operation date. Currently, the PPA requires that the Windstar Project be in commercial operation by December 31, 2009; however, the Company is waiting for approval from SCE for an amendment to extend the commercial operation date to December 31, 2010. Western Wind may terminate the contract if it cannot acquire turbines at specified prices; however, due to the California Renewable Portfolio Standard requiring utility companies to meet specified targets by specified deadlines, Western Wind can negotiate a new PPA if the price term in the existing PPA cannot be adjusted.

      Zoning and Permits

Western Wind has submitted to Kern County the required applications and associated archeological and environmental reports and expects to receive approval of its application for a zone change for the Windstar Project by the end of August 2008.

      Design and Engineering

Upon receiving approval for the requested zone change, Western Wind will prepare and submit the design and engineering for the project site to Kern County to complete the building permit. The information to be submitted typically includes, but is not limited to engineered plot plans showing turbine locations, engineered structural foundation design and drawings, engineered structural soil reports, civil design drawings for roads and pads, and engineered substation design drawings. If approval is received on or about August 2008, Western Wind projects that the structural permit process can be completed and permits issued by March 2009.

      Long-lead items

In its November 12, 2007 press release, Western Wind stated that delivery of turbines was expected in late 2008 and commissioning expected in the second quarter 2009. Upon securing financing, Western Wind will order turbines and other electronic equipment or turbines will be provided by another party as part of their participation in the project. Generally, turbines must be delivered six months prior to the anticipated construction completion date. The strategic partners with which Western Wind is currently negotiating have wind turbines in inventory.

      Construction

Assuming meeting the above timelines, construction is anticipated to begin in April 2009 and be completed in November 2009.

      Financing

The projected cost to construct the entire project is estimated, at this time, to be approximately US$280 million. Upon approval of the zone change request, Western Wind will be in a position to obtain standard debt financing or project tax equity. Western Wind may also elect to pursue other financing options, such as equity financing through a private placement of its stock or a joint venture with another company. Some of the institutional investors with which Western Wind is in discussions have turbines in inventory or have access to turbines, which would obviate the need to order turbines separately. There is no guarantee that Western Wind will receive financing on acceptable terms.

      Valuation of the Windstar Project

In its May 21, 2008 news release, Western Wind announced that, although it had received an offer of $228 million to purchase the Windstar assets, Western Wind was still reviewing other options. The $228 million offer to purchase Western Wind’s Windstar Project assets is based on a $36 million up-front payment on the commencement of construction and the balance of $192 million payable over the 30-year life of the lease, based on the value of a 7% gross annual royalty from payments on the land, which would be retained by Western Wind and back-end bonus payments based on a confidential formula.

      Risks

A detailed discussion of the general business risks and project milestones are contained in Western Wind’s Form 20-F filed with the SEC. Other than the risks discussed above, Western Wind does not believe there is any particularly increased risk specific to completing the necessary milestones to fully develop the Windstar Project.

      Barstow Project, California

On February 14, 2008, Western Wind announced that it had secured a new 100-megawatt wind energy and solar site near Barstow, California. Western Wind has signed an agreement with the United States Bureau of Land Management (“BLM”) to conduct all required environmental surveys to install meteorological towers to complete detailed micro siting of the wind resource and to complete the installation of the towers. Detailed micro siting is scheduled to begin this summer and Western Wind projects that it will be completed within approximately six months. If Western Wind determines that the project economics are sufficient to justify developing a project, it will conduct the required environmental surveys to install wind turbines and towers and associated electrical equipment and apply for a commercial right of way grant from the BLM of approximately 3,300 acres. Western Wind is first in the queue to obtain this right of way. Western Wind fully expects the wind resource to support developing a project based on Rich Simon’s findings that wind speeds in the area average nine (9) meters per second. This project is in the earliest stages of development and Western Wind has not begun negotiations for a PPA or submitted applications for interconnection and transmission or zoning and permitting.

Mesa Wind Farm Repower Project, Palm Springs, California

The Mesa Wind Farm is an operating 30 MW wind farm, located on approximately 1120 acres leased from the BLM. Western Wind has submitted an application, including all required environmental and archeological studies to the BLM to replace the existing wind turbines with newer turbines to increase the total capacity of the wind farm to 50 MW. As an alternative to a repower of the entire wind farm, Western Wind is considering using a portion of the BLM right-of-way grant for a new 20 MW project. If the BLM approves the plan to repower, expected by the end of August 2008, Western Wind will determine whether to repower the entire project or add a new 20 MW project.

      Windridge Wind Farm, Tehachapi, California

The Windridge Wind Farm is an operating 4.5 MW wind farm, located on 192 acres owned by Western Wind. Currently, the wind farm is operating below capacity and Western Wind is exploring options to replace the older wind turbines with fewer new larger capacity turbines to reach the 4.5 MW project capacity. In its October 24, 2007 news release, Western Wind announced that the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) had approved the installation of three new wind turbines. Western Wind is now in the process of negotiating for wind turbines to use at this site. The site has the potential to be increased to 12 MW with appropriate transmission upgrades and a new PPA for the additional capacity. Such an expansion would require structural permits from Kern County and FAA approval for additional turbines to exceed the maximum height limit.

      Solar Projects, Ontario, Canada

Western Wind is currently obtaining lease options to purchase land in Ontario for solar energy development. The options will allow Western Wind to purchase the land if Western Wind determines to move forward with the project. Western Wind has applied for interconnection and transmission service for two 10 MW projects with the Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator.

      Discontinued Projects

In its February 20 and May 28, 2007 news releases, Western Wind announced that it was in discussions with an international consulting firm regarding the development of a 1,000-megawatt project in the Republic of India. Although the discussions proceeded to an advanced stage, the discussions ultimately failed to result in an agreement on developing the project.

In its January 25 and June 14, 2006 press releases, Western Wind announced that the Grand Manan project had received all permits and approvals and that Western Wind had selected the turbine manufacturer. In its Form 20-F, Western Wind stated that it had executed a PPA with New Brunswick Power, requiring the project to be in commercial operation by October 31, 2006. When Western Wind could not construct the project by October 2006, New Brunswick Power declined to amend the PPA and terminated the agreement. All operations in New Brunswick were discontinued.

      Financial Updates

In its October 1 and 26, 2007 news releases, Western Wind also reported that it had begun negotiations with a major European commercial bank (Norddeutsche Landesbanke) for a debt facility to repay a loan to Pacific Hydro Pty Ltd. used to purchase and secured by the Mesa Wind Farm. Negotiations with Norddeutsche have been put on hold with regard to this loan, pending the closing of a private placement. As announced in its May 27 and 29, 2008 news releases, Western Wind engaged Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon Limited to raise $15 million in a private placement of special warrants. The agents exercised their option to increase the private placement by 20 percent. The net proceeds will be used to repay the approximately $12.5 million balance of the Mesa acquisition loan from Pacific Hydro and for working capital purposes. The closing of the offering is expected to occur on or about June 20, 2008.

Western Wind is in the business of acquiring exceptional land sites, capital and technology for the production of electricity from renewable sources. Western Wind Energy conducts its operations through its wholly owned subsidiaries in Arizona and California. Management of Western Wind Energy includes individuals involved in the operations and ownership of utility scale wind energy facilities in California since 1981.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently released a report projecting that wind power could provide 20% of U.S. electricity by 2030.

To reach the DOE target, wind turbine installations will need to increase to 7,000 per year by 2017.

To put that in perspective, just 3,100 wind turbines were installed in all of 2007.

Make no mistake... Massive numbers of installations are on the way. And investor profits will be just as massive.

You see, getting wind where it currently stands today (producing just 1% of U.S. annual electricity) required a $25 billion investment.

That's nothing compared to the $500 billion estimated to be invested in wind energy to reach that 20% target... And that's in the U.S. alone.

Similar investments are being made across the pond, as Europe significantly ramps up its wind capacity as well.

Western Wind is in the process of purchasing or leasing additional sites with potential for solar and wind development in California and Ontario. For competitive reasons, the details of proposed sites are withheld.

      Windstar Project, Tehachapi, California

      Site control

Western Wind currently directly owns 1,606 acres of land in Tehachapi, California, which depending on what turbine is selected, is sufficient to build its 120 MW Windstar Project.

Western Wind has also leased an additional 280 acres of land in Tehachapi, which may be added to the Windstar Project.

      Transmission Access

Western Wind has submitted the requisite transmission line applications and expects to execute the transmission agreements in the near future. Western Wind already has executed interconnection and transmission service agreements for the privately owned Sagebrush Line. In accordance with the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission rules, Western Wind must construct the Windstar project by December 31, 2010 in order to maintain its current queue position with the California Independent System Operator. As a safety measure, Western Wind is seeking an extension on this date as a result of various delays in the interconnection feasibility study process.

      Power Purchase Agreements

Western Wind has a Power Purchase Agreement ("PPA") with the Southern California Edison Company, which has been amended from time to time to extend the commercial operation date. Currently, the PPA requires that the Windstar Project be in commercial operation by December 31, 2009; however, the Company is awaiting an approval from SCE for an amendment to extend the commercial operation date to December 31, 2010. Western Wind may terminate the contract if it cannot acquire turbines at specified prices; however, due to the California Renewable Portfolio Standard requiring utility companies to meet specified targets by specified deadlines, Western Wind expects to be in a position to negotiate a new PPA if the price term in the existing PPA cannot be adjusted. Western Wind is currently in negotiations with Southern California Edison on a new pricing formula. The California Public Utilities Commission has recommended that long-term prices for renewable projects in California should be US $114 per megawatt hour for a 20-year contract and US $119 per megawatt hours for a 25-year contract. This is in addition to the inflation adjusted US $21 per megawatt hour Production Tax Credit.

      Zoning and Permits

Western Wind has submitted to Kern County the required applications and associated archeological and environmental reports and expects to receive approval of its application for a zone change for the Windstar Project in the next few months. In the fall of 2008, Kern County notified Western Wind that the County will support the application as a mitigated Declaration of No Significant Impact.

      Detailed Micro-Siting and Resource Assessment

Western Wind's independent consulting meteorologist, Richard Simon, M.S., has completed detailed and definitive micro-siting and long term resource assessment on the Windstar Project utilizing several major turbine models from various bankable equipment manufacturers. The details of these assessments are confidential but Western Wind is pleased with the results.

      Design and Engineering

Upon receipt of the zoning change, Western Wind will submit the design and engineering plans to Kern County to complete its building permit. The information to be submitted typically includes, but is not limited to engineered plot plans showing turbine locations, engineered structural foundation design and drawings, engineered structural soil reports, civil design drawings for roads and pads, and engineered substation design drawings. If approval is received on or about March 2009, Western Wind projects that the structural permit process can be completed and permits issued by February 2010.

Turbines must be delivered six months prior to the anticipated completion date.

      Construction

If the above timelines are met, construction is anticipated to begin in December 2009 and be completed in October 2010. There have been delays in the interconnection study process, the pricing re-negotiations with SCE and the zoning process.

      Financing

In anticipation of the approval of the zoning, price adjustment from SCE and completion of interconnection agreements, Western Wind has begun negotiations with various industry recognized project finance institutions, both passive and non-passive. The projected cost to construct the entire project is estimated, at this time, to be approximately US$280 million. Some of the institutional investors with which Western Wind is in discussions, have access to turbines, which would obviate the need to order turbines separately.

The $228 million offer to purchase Western Wind's Windstar Project assets was based on a $36 million up-front payment on the commencement of construction and the balance of $192 million payable over the 30-year life of the lease, based on the value of a 7% gross annual royalty from payments on the land, which would have been retained by Western Wind and back-end bonus payments based on a confidential formula. Western Wind has continued to discuss proposals from various parties, consistent with the net present value of the above offer.

      Risks

A detailed discussion of the general business risks and project milestones are contained in Western Wind's Form 20-F filed with the SEC.

      Barstow Project, California

On February 14, 2008, Western Wind announced that it had secured a new 100-megawatt wind energy and solar site near Barstow, California. Western Wind has signed an agreement with the United States Bureau of Land Management ("BLM") to conduct all required environmental surveys to install meteorological towers to complete detailed micro-siting of the wind resource and to complete the installation of the towers. Detailed micro-siting is scheduled to begin this spring. This project is in the early stage of development and Western Wind has not begun negotiations for a PPA or submitted applications for interconnection and transmission or zoning and permitting. The project was delayed by the review process of the Bureau of Land Management.

Mesa Wind Farm Repower Project, Palm Springs, California

The Mesa Wind Farm is an operating 30 MW wind farm, located on approximately 440 acres leased from the BLM. If the BLM approves the plan to repower, expected by the end of February 2009, Western Wind will determine whether to repower the entire project or add a new 20 MW project.

      Windridge Wind Farm, Tehachapi, California

The Windridge Wind Farm is an operating 4.5 MW wind farm, located on 192 acres owned by Western Wind. Currently, the wind farm is operating below capacity and Western Wind is exploring various options to replace the older wind turbines with fewer new larger capacity turbines to reach the 4.5 MW capacity. In its October 24, 2007 news release, Western Wind announced that the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration ("FAA") had approved the installation of three new wind turbines. The FAA has, however, indicated that the towers cannot be higher than the current turbines which will make it difficult to repower with new larger turbines. Western Wind may increase current capacity by utilizing several models of smaller turbines.

      Solar Projects, Ontario, Canada

Western Wind is has executed conditional purchase and sale agreements to acquire land in Ontario for solar energy development. Western Wind has entered into such agreements to purchase three (3) project sites. These agreements will allow Western Wind to purchase the land if Western Wind determines to move forward with the project. Western Wind has applied for interconnection and transmission service for three (3) - 10 MW projects with the Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator and has completed system impact studies on all three (3) projects, with positive results.

      Financial Updates

Western Wind anticipates executing project finance term sheets on the Windstar Project within Q1 2009 and will release the details, as soon as possible.

So in etwa, vom Prinzip.

"Vancouver, BC, June 18, 2009 -- Western Wind Energy Corp. ("Western Wind" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it, and its wholly-owned subsidiary Aero Energy, LLC, have acquired, in an arm's length transaction, important parcels of land (the "Property") located in Tehachapi, California from two individuals. The purchase price for the Property was US$1,000,000, which was payable as to US$200,000 in cash and US$800,000 in units (a "Unit") of the Company at a deemed price of $0.65 per Unit. The acquisition was originally announced by the Company in a news release dated March 31, 2009.

The land forms part of a very strategic connection corridor between Western Wind's Windstar Project and the newly acquired Windswept Project. Windswept is in the heart of our major competitor's key resource areas, and currently may support up to an additional 30 MW.

Each Unit is comprised of one common share and one half of one share purchase warrant. Each whole warrant (a "Warrant") will entitle the holder to acquire one additional share of the Company at a price of $1.00 per Warrant Share for a period of 24 months from the date the Units were issued. The hold periods for the Units and underlying securities expires October 11, 2009.

The securities issued in connection with the acquisition of the land will not be registered under the United States Securities Act of 1933, as amended, or applicable state securities laws, and may not be offered or sold in the United States absent registration or an applicable exemption from such registration requirements.

Die haben ein riesiges Portfolio in Kanada("... has applied for or holds licenses on 40 rivers in the province, on which nearly 2000 MW of renewable green power generation could be developed."!!), starke Partner &das erste Projekt soll nächstes Jahr seinen Betrieb aufnehmen.

Western Wind Energy Corp executes major wind turbine reservation agreement with Gamesa

      VANCOUVER, Aug 24, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ --

Western Wind Energy Corp ("Western Wind") is pleased to announce a major wind turbine reservation order with Gamesa for the procurement of up to 120 MW of wind turbine generators. The Windstar Project, located in Tehachapi California, will consist of Gamesa G80 2-MW, G87 2-MW and G52 850-KW turbines. This flexible product mix is capable of harnessing the uniquely varied wind regime of the Windstar site. Although the terms of the deal are confidential, the order is valued at over $160 million.

The decision to select Gamesa was based on an extensive 12 month evaluation of the various wind turbine manufacturers deemed bankable by major lending institutions. Gamesa, having soundly satisfied the above criteria, offers a robust technologically advanced product, comprehensive after-sale maintenance, and a customer-first orientation. Western Wind has paid a deposit and will pay the bulk of the proceeds from the previously announced Manulife Financing subject to financial closing conditions satisfactory to Manulife.

      About Gamesa

Beginning with the research and development of wind turbine technology, Gamesa manufactures the critical components and assembles wind turbines in 32 production centers worldwide. Gamesa offers development, installation and after-sale-service to clients across 20 countries. As one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers in the world, Gamesa has installed more than 16,000 MW of renewable energy from non-depleting sources. The annual equivalent of this production exceeds 5.45 million tons of petroleum (TPE) per year and prevents the emission of over 34 million tons of CO(2) per year. Gamesa's portfolio includes more than 21,000 MW of wind assets in various stages of development across Europe, Asia and the United States. Gamesa sales in 2008 were $5.51 billion with a net profit of $464 million.

Insgesamt dürfte Deren Potenzial IMO v.a. eher im mittel -langfr. Bereich stecken.

"VANCOUVER, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Western Wind Energy Corporation (WND-TSXV) is pleased to announce that it has signed a power purchase agreement with UniSource Energy Services, a subsidiary of UniSource Energy Corporation (UNS-NYSE) of Arizona for a new fully integrated combined wind and solar (photo voltaic "PV") energy project. The new integrated wind and solar project is believed to be the first of its kind in North America.

Jeff Ciachurski, Western Wind's Chief Executive Officer, states; "Western Wind is thrilled to take part in this historic project. It will allow us to utilize our expertise in wind and solar generation while helping UniSource Energy Services expand its renewable energy resources."

Paul Bonavia, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of UniSource Energy Corporation added, "We'll be tapping two of Mohave County's most abundant resources - the sun and the wind - to help us provide clean, renewable power to our customers. We're excited to support the development of this new green energy resource in Arizona."

This late stage development project is located just outside Kingman Arizona, in Mohave County on fully zoned land owned by Western Wind. The agreement allows the site to deliver up to 11 MW...with at least 300 kilowatts derived from PV solar. The rest would come from wind energy. The project, when completed, will increase Western Wind's existing nameplate production capacity
and late stage development assets from both wind and solar generation to approximately 181 MW. The project is expected to complete by June 2011...but could be completed sooner.

Western Wind to develop an additional new 30 to 80MW wind project in Tehachapi, CA - Oct 26, 2009
      www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS33496+26-Oct-2009+P…

"VANCOUVER, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Western Wind Energy Corp ("Western Wind") is pleased to announce that it has secured approximately 575 contiguous acres near Tehachapi, California through land purchases and ground leases and plans to pursue the development of an additional wind energy project of at least 30MW. The new project will be named Windswept. Western Wind is working on acquiring or leasing additional contiguous land parcels that could see Windswept increase to over 1,500 acres and up to 80MWs. Windswept is just west of Western Wind's current late development stage Windstar project and shares similar wind speeds to Windstar's lower resource area. Windswept completion is still several years away and is subject to obtaining wind energy zoning from Kern County, a power purchase agreement, interconnection to Southern California Edison's new transmission line, financing and other development milestones.

      About Tehachapi Pass Wind Area

Tehachapi Pass is one of the largest wind parks in the world, with over 5,000 wind turbines owned and operated by a variety of different entities. Tehachapi Pass generates over 705 MW of nameplate capacity, the maximum rated output the turbines could produce according to the turbine manufacturer, producing over
1.4 billion kilowatt hours of electricity per year. In Tehachapi Pass, the mean-average annual wind speeds and frequency distributions are well documented due to the long history of wind energy generation in the area and the area is considered to be an "excellent" wind resource according to the American Wind Energy Association ("AWEA"). Capacity factors in Tehachapi Pass are in excess of 40% using modern wind turbines, compared to an estimated
average 36% capacity factor for all 2007 U.S. installations, according to the AWEA. In addition, California's electricity rates are among the highest in the U.S. and, in November 2008, the governor of the State of California signed Executive Order S-14-08 requiring that California utilities reach a 33% renewable energy goal by 2020, exceeding the previous legislative mandate that
electric utilities supply 20% of their total retail power sales from renewable resources by 2010. According to CAISO, the renewable portfolio standard will require 8,000 MW of new wind generation. Approximately 4,000 MW is expected to come from the Tehachapi Pass Wind Resource Area.

      Hi Peschenlo,

"VANCOUVER, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Western Wind Energy Corp. The loan bears interest at 10% per annum. A bonus is payable in common shares of the company at a discounted market price of CDN $1.46. A finders fee is payable to PI Financial Corp., who acted as an advisor on the loan, in the amount of 7% cash and 7% warrants. The warrants have a term of two years and an exercise price of CDN $1.82. The bonus shares total 352,534.

Western Wind Energy Corp. - Windstar financing update - Mar 1, 2010
      www.newswire.ca/en/releases/archive/March2010/01/c5555.html

"VANCOUVER, March 1 /CNW/ - Western Wind Energy Corp. is pleased to provide an update on the 120 Megawatt Windstar financing. Western Wind Energy is receiving considerable inquires regarding the anticipated financial closing date and the perceived implication to the value of Western Wind Energy as a result of such financial close. While management believes the implication to the Western Wind Energy shareholder is significant at financial close, management would like to better explain the process of financial close and therefore, provide greater certainty to the investing public, maintaining full transparency, understanding and clarity.

For greater clarity, the final execution of a Turbine Supply Agreement ("TSA") and final execution of a Balance of Plant Contract from an Engineering Procurement and Construction ("EPC") Contractor occurs before financial close, not after. In fact, most key project components are completed before, or just prior to formal financial close. At formal financial close, the lender will release into an escrow construction account, the funding necessary to construct and commence operations at the wind park.

As previously disclosed, Western Wind Energy has executed a turbine reservation agreement with Gamesa for 60 units of the G8X series - 2 MW wind turbine generators.

Western Wind has selected RMT of Madison, Wisconsin, as the EPC contractor for Windstar. RMT is a world class EPC contractor whose parent company is the multi-billion dollar regulated utility, Alliant Energy of Madison, Wisconsin. (LNT:NYSE). RMT is currently performing substantial activities on the Windstar project which include geotechnical drilling of all 60 turbine sites, calculations of soil dynamic loadings, seismic refraction surveys, electrical resistivity testing, road design, substation design and transmission interconnection design.

Western Wind Energy, Gamesa and RMT are currently formulating the complex delivery, erection, mechanical completion and commissioning strategy and Western Wind Energy expects this construction strategy to be substantially complete within several weeks. However, Western Wind Energy does not foresee any change to the August, 2010 commencement of formal construction start up and March, 2011, Commercial Operations Date.

Western Wind Energy is currently 95% complete on negotiating the completion of the final TSA and such execution will occur just prior to financial close.

Windstar Project financing will leave Western Wind Energy with a full, undivided 100% interest in and to the Windstar Project. Project financing terms and rates will be set at financial close with such terms to be customary and traditional in nature with respect to a wind energy project in the United States.

Upon commencement of the Commercial Operations Date, Western Wind Energy will apply to the US Treasury Department for the 30% tax free cash grant available under the American Recovery and Re-Investment Act of 2009. Such tax free cash grant is anticipated to be approximately $70 Million USD.

Western Wind Energy will make further updates as they become available.

Both projects are planned to commence construction before the end of 2010 with commercial operations before June 30, 2011. Together with Windstar, Western Wind is planning to have 161 Megawatts of projects in construction by year end.

Western Wind is working with its EPC -- BOP contractor, RMT, Inc. ("RMT") on various project activities for both Mesa and Steel Park. Jointly, Western Wind and RMT are conducting various project tasks including preliminary design, system impact and feasibilities studies and permitting at Steel Park. An independent resource assessment has been completed on Mesa by the lender's independent engineer and Gamesa completed a site suitability study. Capacity factors are consistent with a wind resource at Mesa averaging 10.4 meters per second ( 23 mph ) from met tower MT-34 recording over six (6) years of wind data.

Upon commencement of the Commercial Operations Date for both Steel Park and Mesa, Western Wind will apply to the US Treasury Department for the 30% tax free cash grant available under the American Recovery and Re-Investment Act of 2009.
