VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMIBA, Sep 24, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- ATAC Resources Ltd. CA:ATC -1.15% is pleased to report results of 28 diamond drill holes recently completed at the Conrad Zone within the Nadaleen Trend, at the eastern end of its 100% owned 1,600 sq/km Rackla Gold Project in central Yukon.

Conrad Zone
The Conrad Zone is one of four significant drill tested zones of Carlin-type gold mineralization located within a 3 by 4 km area at the eastern end of the 40 km long Nadaleen Trend. The other zones within the cluster are the Osiris, Isis and Isis East Zones.
Mineralization at the Conrad Zone is contained within several structural and stratigraphic settings. Characteristic Carlin-type hydrothermal alteration, consisting of decalcification and silicification accompanied by the arsenic sulphide mineral realgar, is focused along the contact of limestone with an overlying pyritic siltstone cap unit, with the thickest and best mineralized areas in or near the crest of an anticline fold. Drilling continues to outline at or near-surface mineralization along this 200 m wide corridor with consistently greater thickness and higher gold grades than encountered in previous widely spaced holes that had largely tested the anticline limbs.
Holes OS-12-130, 141, 163, 165, 169, 175 and 183 intersected the well mineralized crest of the anticline (see table below). Previously released 2012 Conrad Zone intersections in the crest of the anticline include 42.93 m of 18.44 g/t gold (OS-12-114), 46.06 m of 11.24 g/t gold (OS-12-103) and 40.30 m of 10.10 g/t gold (OS-12-098). Drilling at 50 m spacing, both horizontally and vertically, has been completed along the crest of the anticline for a distance of 350 m. The overall strike length of the Conrad Zone is 475 m based on results received to date, but the downward plunge of the anticline crest at both ends of the Conrad Zone leaves it open to extension to the east and west under cover rock. Three drills are currently working to extend the length of the Conrad Zone with wide-spaced holes beyond the 475 m strike length.
Well mineralized solution collapse breccias also occur lower in the Conrad limestone below the gold-enriched anticline. They occur at the intersection of a flat-lying fault zone with a near vertical fracture system. Hole OS-12-130 intersected 7.80 m of 10.21 g/t gold on Section C650E which is within the fracture system and adjacent to the previously released 56.93 m of 4.68 g/t gold in hole OS-12-116. Wide-spaced drilling on adjacent sections has recently intersected 28.46 m of 5.20 g/t gold on Section C450E (OS-12-149), 42.68 m of 6.19 g/t gold on Section C400E (OS-12-170) and 2.66 m of 21.34 g/t gold on Section C350E (Hole OS-12-148), which may represent on-strike extensions. A number of other lower intersections occur on other cross-sections, one of which intersected 4.38 g/t gold across 24.39 m in OS-12-149 on Section C450E. These additional lower intersections may be from other parallel zones of similar structurally controlled mineralization but, are currently too widely spaced to make specific correlations.

Drilling Update
A total of four diamond drills continue to test the Conrad Zone and the newly discovered Anubis Zone 10 km to the west of Conrad. Three drills are currently testing the on-strike extensions of the Conrad Zone while the remaining Anubis drill is testing a parallel lineament 500 m northeast of the initial Anubis discovery hole (AN-12-001). The proposed two phase 2012 drill program of 30,000 m was achieved in late August and under budget. To date, a total of 35,000 m of drilling has been completed. Diamond drilling will continue into early October.

ja das ist bei den meisten yukon werten ein nachteil. die kosten in den griff zu bekommen. deshalb sollten die grades je tonne hoch sein. bei atac scheint das erstmal der fall zu sein. ich bin gespannt was in ein oder 2 jahren bei der nadaleen resource rauskommt. da erhoffe ich mir persönlich mehr potential.
Anubis ist eine schöne Entdeckung.
Ich glaube aber, der Markt wartet aus Step out drillings zu Conrad und Osiris - bisher wurde von dort nur Ergebnisse aus der selben Sektion berichtet.
Im Juli wurden in den news 58 Löcher als fertig gebohrt angegeben, davon wurde bisher nur ein Bruchteil veröffentlicht.
ATAC wurde ja deshalb von 10 auf 2.50 runter geprügelt, weil eine sehr lange und teure Strasse dorthin gebaut werden müßte. Wichtiger als alles andere ist daher die Größe. Es sollten auf Osiris im Bereich des Trenches mit 80 g Gold bald Ergebnisse kommen

(ATC.V) announces that it has made a major new Carlin-type gold discovery within the Nadaleen Trend on its 100% owned 185 km long Rackla Gold Project, Yukon. The discovery hole tested a prospecting find located approximately 10 km west of the Conrad, Osiris, Isis, Isis East gold zones in a new area not previously drill tested. This new gold zone has been named Anubis.

-- First diamond drill hole at Anubis (AN-12-001) intersects 8.51 metres of 19.85 g/t gold; -- Four surface outcrop grab samples above the discovery hole graded 139.0, 125.0, 122.0 and 84.2 g/t gold; -- 1 km long gold-in-soil anomaly outlined along a well-defined regional- scale northwest trending lineament in an area of poor bedrock exposure; -- Hand pit profile samples 600 m northwest of AN-12-001 along the lineament returned gold grades up to 5.59 g/t gold; and, -- A hand pit grab sample taken from a parallel lineament and geochemical anomaly 500 m northeast of the 1 km long gold-in-soil anomaly returned 0.88 g/t gold.

The Anubis target area is underlain by a sequence of mid-Paleozoic carbonate rocks with interbedded calcareous siltstone and shale. This package of rocks is younger than those hosting Osiris, Isis and Conrad mineralization. Systematic grid soil sampling identified a 1 km long linear northwest trending gold-in-soil anomaly with intermittently coincident arsenic, antimony and mercury soil responses. The trace of the gold-in-soil anomaly coincides with a well-defined recessive regional-scale lineament interpreted to represent a steeply northeast dipping fault analogous to the structural setting of the Conrad Zone. Exposure along the Anubis structure is generally poor due to accumulations of talus, overburden and moderate elevation; however, prospecting at two sites in areas of relatively thin cover identified significant gold mineralization approximately 600 m apart.
The Anubis discovery outcrop consists of an outcrop exposure of highly fractured, strongly folded, silicified and decarbonatized sanded limestone breccia within a sequence of calcareous siltstone and shale. Four grab samples collected along the exposure returned 139.0 g/t gold, 125.0 g/t gold, 122.0 g/t gold and 84.2 g/t gold. One grab sample of less altered calcareous siltstone talus collected beneath the outcrop occurrence and along the slope returned 5.01 g/t gold. The first diamond drill hole at Anubis targeted the down-dip extension of this surface outcrop material and intersected 8.51 m of 19.85 g/t gold within a broader 20 m interval of alteration and elevated arsenic response.
The reported intersection is drilled thickness and is believed to represent approximately 85% true width.
Hand pits were excavated 600 m northwest of the Anubis discovery outcrop beneath a 134 ppb gold-in-soil sample site that occurs within the Anubis lineament. Four pits dug to depths of up to 2 m along an 18 m section perpendicular to the structural zone contained multi-color clay alteration and associated breccias. Samples of this material collected from pit profiles between 0.10 and 0.50 m thick yielded values ranging from 1.01 g/t gold to a maximum of 5.59 g/t gold. A location map for Anubis and drill core photos are available on ATAC's website.
Diamond drilling at Anubis is ongoing with two additional holes completed on section with AN-12-001 to test beneath the discovery intersection. Two holes will then be drilled 600 m to the northwest of the discovery intersection to test beneath the anomalous pits and, if time and weather permit, several drill holes will also test the parallel lineament/geochemical zone 500 m northeast of the Anubis structure. Three diamond drills continue to test the Conrad Zone 10 km to the east of the Anubis Zone. Results for all remaining holes will be announced as they are received and compiled.

QA/QC
Samples were forwarded to ALS Minerals in Whitehorse, Y.T. or North Vancouver, B.C. where they were fine crushed before a 250 gram split was pulverized to better than 85% passing 75 microns. The pulverizing circuit was cleaned with quartz sand twice between samples. Pulps were then analyzed at ALS Minerals in North Vancouver where gold determinations were carried out and splits of the pulverized fraction were routinely dissolved in aqua regia and analyzed for 49 elements using inductively coupled plasma (ICP) together with mass spectrometry (MS) or atomic emission spectroscopy (AES). Gold analyses were by the Au-AA26 procedure that involves fire assay preparation using a 50 gram charge with an atomic absorption spectroscopy finish. Mercury analyses are performed using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Overlimit gold analyses were performed using the Au-GRA22 method that involves fire assay using a 50 gram charge and gravimetric finish.
Rigorous procedures are in place regarding sample collection, chain of custody and data entry. Certified assay standards, duplicate samples and blanks are routinely inserted into the sample stream to ensure integrity of the assay process.

The Anubis target area is underlain by a sequence of mid-Paleozoic carbonate rocks with interbedded calcareous siltstone and shale. This package of rocks is younger than those hosting Osiris, Isis and Conrad mineralization. Systematic grid soil sampling identified a 1 km long linear northwest trending gold-in-soil anomaly with intermittently coincident arsenic, antimony and mercury soil responses. The trace of the gold-in-soil anomaly coincides with a well-defined recessive regional-scale lineament interpreted to represent a steeply northeast dipping fault analogous to the structural setting of the Conrad Zone. Exposure along the Anubis structure is generally poor due to accumulations of talus, overburden and moderate elevation; however, prospecting at two sites in areas of relatively thin cover identified significant gold mineralization approximately 600 m apart.
The Anubis discovery outcrop consists of an outcrop exposure of highly fractured, strongly folded, silicified and decarbonatized sanded limestone breccia within a sequence of calcareous siltstone and shale. Four grab samples collected along the exposure returned 139.0 g/t gold, 125.0 g/t gold, 122.0 g/t gold and 84.2 g/t gold. One grab sample of less altered calcareous siltstone talus collected beneath the outcrop occurrence and along the slope returned 5.01 g/t gold. The first diamond drill hole at Anubis targeted the down-dip extension of this surface outcrop material and intersected 8.51 m of 19.85 g/t gold within a broader 20 m interval of alteration and elevated arsenic response.
The reported intersection is drilled thickness and is believed to represent approximately 85% true width.
Hand pits were excavated 600 m northwest of the Anubis discovery outcrop beneath a 134 ppb gold-in-soil sample site that occurs within the Anubis lineament. Four pits dug to depths of up to 2 m along an 18 m section perpendicular to the structural zone contained multi-color clay alteration and associated breccias. Samples of this material collected from pit profiles between 0.10 and 0.50 m thick yielded values ranging from 1.01 g/t gold to a maximum of 5.59 g/t gold. Diamond drilling at Anubis is ongoing with two additional holes completed on section with AN-12-001 to test beneath the discovery intersection. Two holes will then be drilled 600 m to the northwest of the discovery intersection to test beneath the anomalous pits and, if time and weather permit, several drill holes will also test the parallel lineament/geochemical zone 500 m northeast of the Anubis structure. Three diamond drills continue to test the Conrad Zone 10 km to the east of the Anubis Zone. Results for all remaining holes will be announced as they are received and compiled.

QA/QC
Samples were forwarded to ALS Minerals in Whitehorse, Y.T. or North Vancouver, B.C. where they were fine crushed before a 250 gram split was pulverized to better than 85% passing 75 microns. The pulverizing circuit was cleaned with quartz sand twice between samples. Pulps were then analyzed at ALS Minerals in North Vancouver where gold determinations were carried out and splits of the pulverized fraction were routinely dissolved in aqua regia and analyzed for 49 elements using inductively coupled plasma (ICP) together with mass spectrometry (MS) or atomic emission spectroscopy (AES). Gold analyses were by the Au-AA26 procedure that involves fire assay preparation using a 50 gram charge with an atomic absorption spectroscopy finish. Mercury analyses are performed using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Overlimit gold analyses were performed using the Au-GRA22 method that involves fire assay using a 50 gram charge and gravimetric finish.
Rigorous procedures are in place regarding sample collection, chain of custody and data entry. Certified assay standards, duplicate samples and blanks are routinely inserted into the sample stream to ensure integrity of the assay process.

Highest grade gold intersection to date at the Conrad Zone with 46.06 m grading 11.24 g/t gold in hole OS-12-103.
Isis East discovery extended with step-out holes along a 200 m strike length to a depth of 225 m in the crest of an anticlinal fold.
Six drills are operating and 15,000 m in 58 holes have been drilled since the May 22 program start with 4 drills currently on Conrad, and 2 on the Osiris Zone.

Five Carlin-type gold exploration targets were outlined in 2011 by wide-spaced diamond drilling within a 3 by 4 km area in the Nadaleen Trend. The 2012 drill program will expand and better define those known areas of mineralization, as well as test a number of undrilled geochemical anomalies.
Conrad Zone
The Conrad Zone has a current strike length of approximately 475 m and extends 490 m below surface. The zone remains open in all directions. Some of the best grades and longest intersections from previous drilling are located at a shallow depth in the crest area of an anticlinal fold at or near the contact of relatively impermeable silty shale with an underlying limestone unit. The potential for additional deep high-grade gold mineralization as encountered in hole OS-11-036 (8.06 g/t gold over 21.34 m starting from 687.32 m down hole) will also be systematically tested in 2012. Drill hole cross-sections and a plan-view map can be viewed on the Company's website at www.atacresources.com. Significant results for the first five 2012 Conrad holes received to date are tabulated below.
Holes OS-12-098 and OS-12-103 intersected the near surface anticlinal crest while the others tested the Conrad Zone at depth. The anticlinal crest intersections, while wide, are consistently mineralized internally from assay interval to assay interval due to the fine-grained and finely dispersed nature of the mineralization.
Isis East Zone
The Isis East Zone lies along the southern edge of the 3 km by 4 km mineralized area. As with the Conrad Zone and the Osiris Zone that lies immediately to the north, gold mineralization is stratabound and localized in the crest area of an anticlinal fold - in this case at or near the contact of relatively impermeable dolomite altered limestone with underlying unaltered silty limestone. Mineralization has been intersected over an unfolded strike length of 200 m to the current maximum depth of 225 m below surface. The mineralized band remains open to expansion to the east and to depth with further drill testing to be completed in 2012. May 15, 2012 - Vancouver, BC - (TSX-V:ATC) ATAC Resources Ltd. ("ATAC") is pleased to announce that it has begun phase one of a two phase exploration and drilling program at its 100% owned, 1,600 sq/km Rackla Gold Project, which hosts Canada's only Carlin-Type gold discoveries.
Diamond drilling has commenced with one drill on the Isis East Zone, ramping up to three drills there within the month. Drilling at Isis East will continue testing a 450 metre gold in soil geochemical anomaly where initial drilling last year intersected strong Carlin-type gold mineralization of 3.33 g/t gold over 38.10 m (OS-11-040) and 3.13 g/t gold over 51.82 m (OS-11-073).
An additional two diamond drills will begin expanding the Conrad Zone within the week. The Conrad Zone is characterized by multiple stacked, continuous tabular zones of Carlin-type gold mineralization related to the nearby Nadaleen feeder fault system. It has a current drill confirmed strike length of 475 m and has been explored to a depth of 490 m. Significant Conrad results from 2011 include 82.29 m grading 4.08 g/t gold (OS-11-010) and 41.15 m grading 7.33 g/t gold (OS-11-058).
A sixth diamond drill will focus on the Osiris Zone to the north, exploring towards the intersection of the Nadaleen feeder fault system and the Osiris limestone unit. Highlights from 2011 drilling at the Osiris Zone include 32.01 m grading 4.25 g/t gold (OS-11-031) and 26.12 m grading 6.08 g/t gold (OS-11-055).
All the gold zones identified to date are distinct and each has the potential for significant expansion. Given their proximity to each other, they demonstrate the gold endowment potential characteristic of Carlin-type deposits.

Auger drilling commenced mid-April at the Pyramid Target which is located 20 km west of the Osiris Zone within the Nadaleen Trend. It is one of over fifteen early-stage gold targets that were identified in 2011. The Pyramid Target is defined by an extensive glacially dispersed orpiment/realgar (arsenic sulphides) cobble field measuring 150 by 80 m that lies within a larger 500 by 200 m arsenic/thallium soil anomaly. Arsenic sulphides and thallium are strong gold pathfinder elements similar to those found at the Conrad, Osiris, Isis and Isis East Zones. Approximately 60 auger holes will be drilled through glacially transported overburden to vector in on the bedrock source of the cobble field float train.
