Russia's trade with China may reach the $100 billion mark by the end of the year, Russian presidential foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters Friday. “The outlook for this year is very favorable, judging from the growth rates for trade in the first quarter of 2014, we can go as far as $100 billion in bilateral turnover by the end of the year,” he said.

Zijin Ranks No.1 in National Gold Industry with 2014 Q1 Net Profit of USD 83.87 Million

Due to the sharp fall in international gold price, profit decrease are commonly seen in 2014 first quarter financial reports recently issued by the major gold companies at home and abroad. At the backdrop of decrease in gold price and increase in production costs, Zijin Mining achieved net profit attributable to the parent of USD 83.87 million, which ranked No.1 in national gold industry, coming closely after international gold giants such as Barrick, Newmont and Goldcorp.



In the first quarter of 2014, the average gold price in international market was $1293/oz, representing a decrease of 26% over the same period of last year( $1630/oz), it no doubts brought out greater pressures to gold companies to pursue profits.



Financial Reports show that Barrick Gold Co.,Ltd, the world’s largest gold producer, achieved net profit of USD 88 million attributable to owner of the parent, down by 89.61%, while the net profit of another gold giant, Newmont Mining, decreased by 68.15% to USD100 million. The average profit decrease in other major foreign gold companies are also over 60%, such as Goldcorp(USD 98 million) , down by 87.89%; IAM Gold(USD 4 million), down by 66.06%; and Yamana Gold (net loss of USD 30 million), down by 129.41%.



In the first quarter of 2014, Zijin Mining realized the net profit of USD 83.87 million attributable to the parent, down by 27.64% over the same period of last year (USD 116 million), which is the smallest drop among global gold companies. In addition, it ranked No.1 in net profit in national gold industry, coming closely after Barrick, Newmont and Goldcorp.



Regarding sales revenue, the growth in sale volume in various products is offset by the dramatic decrease in metal prices, the sales revenue of Zijin Mining decreased from USD 1.903 billion to USD 1.742 billion. The sales revenues of other major overseas gold companies are as follows: USD 2.623 billion For Barrick, down by 22.83%; USD 1.8 billion for Newmont, down by 19.38%; USD 898 million for Goldcorp, down by 6.85%; USD 279 million for IAM Gold, down by 8.52%; USD 354 million for Yamana Gold, down by 33.83%....

Laut China Gold Association nahm die chinesische Schmucknachfrage im ersten Quartal um 30 Prozent zu. Dafür wurden weniger Goldbarren verkauft.
