CALGARY, AB, Nov. 22, 2021 /PRNewswire/ - Pembina Pipeline Corporation (PBA) ("Pembina" or the "Company") (TSX: PPL) (NYSE: PBA) today announced that Mick Dilger has stepped down as President and Chief Executive Officer to pursue other opportunities. The Board of Directors has named Scott Burrows, Pembina's current Chief Financial Officer, as interim President and Chief Executive Officer. The Board will be working with a leading search firm to identify and evaluate internal and external candidates for a new CEO to lead Pembina in its next chapter. With Mr. Burrows' appointment, Cameron Goldade, currently Pembina's Vice President – Capital Markets, has been appointed interim Chief Financial Officer.

Pembina Pipeline nixes deal to buy Inter Pipeline
Pembina Pipeline (NYSE:PBA) says it has terminated its agreement to acquire Inter Pipeline (OTCPK:IPPLF), which will pay Pembina a C$350 termination fee.Pembina had made an all-stock bid for the company totaling ~C$8.3B, but said it would not raise its offer after Brookfield Infrastructure (NYSE:BIP) revised its previous hostile offer for Inter Pipeline to $20/share in cash or 0.25 of a Brookfield Infrastructure share for each share held by Inter Pipeline investors.
Proxy advisor services Glass Lewis and ISS both came out in favor of Brookfield's offer.

Brookfield Infrastructure Partners' (NYSE:BIP) effort to acquire Inter Pipeline (OTCPK:IPPLF) suffers a blow, as the Alberta Securities Commission rules Inter Pipeline did not engage in any improper defensive tactics to fend off Brookfield's hostile takeover bid, providing a boost to Pembina Pipeline's (NYSE:PBA) friendly takeover offer.
The provincial regulator raised the percentage of shares that must be tendered to Brookfield's bid to 55% support; before the ruling, Brookfield needed to win a simple majority of Inter Pipeline's independent shareholders.
The Commission also dismissed Brookfield's request to remove a $350M termination fee that Inter Pipeline has agreed to pay Pembina if that takeover is not approved by shareholders.
Brookfield, whose offer expires tomorrow, filed a complaint last month alleging Inter Pipeline's tactics favored Pembina.
Inter Pipeline had rejected Brookfield's latest revised takeover offer three weeks ago.
