Vor einem Monat lag dieser Abschlag noch bei über 20 Prozent, und seit der Ankündigung der Übernahme betrug er durchschnittlich 18,5 Prozent. Dies spiegelt das erhebliche Risiko wider, dem Übernahmen im Tech-Sektor im derzeitigen regulatorischen Umfeld ausgesetzt sind. Und dieses Risiko ist noch nicht gebannt. Die endgültigen Entscheidungen der britischen und europäischen Aufsichtsbehörden stehen noch aus, und die Federal Trade Commission in den USA hat bereits Klage eingereicht, um die Übernahme zu verhindern. Im Fall der FTC ist eine Anhörung für Anfang August angesetzt – also 2 Wochen nach dem 18. Juli, dem letzten Termin für den Abschluss des Deals laut der Fusionsvereinbarung.
So lange werden die Anleger wohl nicht warten müssen. Man geht davon aus, dass sowohl das Vereinigte Königreich als auch die EU bis zum 26. April ihre endgültigen Entscheidungen zu dem Deal treffen werden. Matt Perault, Politikanalyst bei New Street Research, ist der Ansicht, dass diese Urteile wahrscheinlich einen großen Einfluss auf die Entscheidung der FTC haben werden, wie sie in ihrem eigenen Fall weiter vorgehen wird. Er glaubt auch, dass die Chancen für Microsoft gutstehen, und schrieb in einer Mitteilung vom Freitag: „Wir halten eine Einigung für wahrscheinlicher als eine Blockade. Denn Microsoft kann Zugeständnisse machen, die auf viele der Hauptbedenken der Regulierungsbehörden eingehen.“

Mit der japanischen Fair Trade Commission stimmte eine weitere Behörde der geplanten Übernahme von Activision Blizzard durch Microsoft zu. Wie es in der 43 Seiten starken Begründung heißt, sehen die Wettbewerbshüter in der Übernahme keine Gefahr für den freien Wettbewerb.

Reuters reported, citing three people familiar with the matter, that the European Commission viewed Microsoft’s (ticker: MSFT) efforts to offer licenses for Call of Duty content to rivals as likely enough to address the regulator’s concerns. The report also said the Commission isn’t expected to demand Microsoft sell assets to close the deal. A decision is scheduled for April 25.

Aber auch wenn Activision Blizzard unabhängig bleiben würde, sehe ich da keine Probleme.
