BRUSSELS -- EM.TV & Merchandising AG (ETV.FNM), the German children`s TV program distributor, on Monday forecast its sales will rise 63% in 2002 from this year due mainly to acquisitions.
The Munich-based company, which released financial forecasts for the first time, said it expects sales to climb to 2.6 billion Deutsche marks (1.33 billion euros) in 2002 from 2.13 billion marks in 2001 and 1.6 billion marks this year.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization are expected to increase to more than 1.2 billion marks in 2002 from 1.08 billion marks in 2001 and 769 million marks this year.
EM.TV, whose stock has doubled in six months, has gained several major acquisitions this year, including the Jim Henson Co, owner of "The Muppets," in February. In addition, the company in March reported the $1.6 billion purchase of half of Formula One Holdings.
Annelie Hoppe, analyst at WestLB Panmure in Dusseldorf, told EIC News she agreed with EM.TV`s forecasted figures, even calling them "conservative" as they included no synergies from the acquisitions of Jim Henson Co or Formula One Holdings.
Hoppe added she maintained her "buy" recommendation for the company.
Shares in EM.TV rose as high as 92.00 euros in early trade Monday on the Nemax 50, the Neuer Markt`s blue-chip index. EM.TV is the third-largest company on the index. Shares last traded at 90.25 euros, up 0.3%.

Jim
ja ja , sell on good news,
