SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2000-- Critical Path and HP Join Forces to
Maximize Benefits of Industry Leading Directory Solutions
Critical Path, Inc. (Nasdaq: CPTH), the dominant global provider of business-to-business Internet
messaging and collaboration solutions, today announced a strategic relationship with
Hewlett-Packard Company, (NYSE:HWP) a leading global provider of computing and imaging
solutions and services.
Critical Path and HP are teaming to meet the increasing demands
enterprises worldwide have for effective directory solutions. Through
this relationship businesses can leverage HP`s more than 25 years of
experience providing global IT education solutions with Critical Path`s
industry leading directory technology in order to reduce
administrative costs and increase the quality of information
throughout their enterprise by uniting dissimilar databases,
applications and directories.
Meta-directories are rapidly becoming a key component of network
infrastructures as companies seek effective ways to unite information
from a variety of sources within their enterprise. In most
organizations, human resource databases, operating system
directories, email address books, network databases, telephone
exchanges and database applications all contain their own
directories, leading to the duplication of information, inconsistency
among different systems and high administrative overhead costs.
Critical Path`s MetaConnect joins disparate directories so they can
be centrally managed across the enterprise from a single view.
Enterprises benefit by reducing administrative costs and increasing the quality of information
available to users and applications alike.
"Meta-directories will become increasingly important as e-business proliferates and organizations
work to create a seamless, single source of information in the enterprise," said Larry Gauthier,
senior analyst of the Burton Group. "Critical Path`s innovative and open architecture approach with
MetaConnnect delivers meta-directory functionality without forcing customers to install another
directory."
Strong demand for MetaConnect has lead to the need to effectively train Critical Path`s fast growing
customer base in Europe. The new training program will combine Critical Path`s professional service
organization`s experience in implementing messaging, directory and Value Added Network (VAN)
solutions, with HP Education`s expertise in providing enterprise businesses and IT professionals and
end users with high quality, comprehensive, just-in-time IT education. This partnership will ensure
that Critical Path`s MetaConnect users will be trained to a high professional standard and be able to
maximize the benefits of the industry`s leading meta-directory solution.
"Critical Path`s MetaConnect provides enterprises with unparalleled reliability, scalability and
simplicity in uniting directories," said Dave Thatcher, president of Critical Path. "By teaming with a
top-tier technology trainer like HP Education, Critical Path is demonstrating its commitment to
empower a fast growing European customer base with the knowledge they need to leverage the
power of MetaConnect."
"HP Education targets specific areas of emerging technologies in order to provide the most relevant
training possible to the corporate market," said Phil Lawman, Northern Europe general manager, HP
Education. "Critical Path`s MetaConnect is a prime example of a revolutionary solution that is
changing the way enterprises unite their disparate directories. With our vast experience in
developing technical experts, HP Education is an ideal choice to provide the training MetaConnect
users need to take full advantage of Critical Path`s market leading meta-directory solution."
Courses will also be translated into German and French allowing Critical Path to extend its reach
throughout Europe. Reservations for the courses can be made via Critical Path in Dublin. For further
details, please email: euro.marketing@cp.net.

VerticalNet kaufen
Hornblower Fischer
Millionen Dollar an VerticalNet beteiligt.

Critical Path Strong Buy
SoundView
PS: Heute schon "meine" MSH beobachtet?

Critical Path Strong Buy
SoundView

bleibe. Gestern habe Critical Path den Erhalt eines Großauftrags vom
Telekommunikationsunternehmen US West bekanntgegeben.
Critical Path
sollte hiervon aufgrund seiner führenden Marktposition besonders profitieren ,

Hmmm ... schwaches Feedback -
