hab ich irgend etwas bei ilex verpaßt...? es geht seit tagen nur noch berg ab.!?!?

Eigentlich haben die einen guten Quartalsbericht vorgelegt,
vielleicht sind aber einige Anleger enttäuscht über eine
Aussage des Firmenchefs bezüglich der Campath-Zulassung.
Richard Love sprach nämlich von "end of the year" als
erwarteten Zeitpunkt, keine Rede von September.
Ansonsten habe ich auch keine andere Erklärung für den
zuletzt stetigen Kursrückgang (akt. 35 1/4 Dollar).

ILEX Oncology Reports 2001 CAMPATH Sales on Target; 2002 Sales Expected to Approximately Double

SAN ANTONIO, Jan 30, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ILEX Oncology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ILXO) today reported that global net sales of CAMPATH(R) reached $27.1 million for the year 2001 in the drug`s first seven months of commercial availability. CAMPATH(R) was launched in the U.S. in June 2001 and in the European Union in August 2001.
"We believe our marketing and development partner Schering AG (NYSE: SHR) and its U.S. affiliate Berlex Laboratories, Inc. have done a good job increasing awareness of CAMPATH(R) among oncologists and hematologists within a relatively short time," said ILEX President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Buchalter. "Early sales patterns reflect those of other oncology compounds which have gone on to achieve market success. Physicians continue to gain experience with CAMPATH(R) and we have not seen any unexpected complications. It is early in the product`s life cycle, and we expect to see an expansion in use as additional data, such as the pivotal study, are published."

Independent market research of hematologists and oncologists, conducted in the fourth quarter of 2001, revealed that among current nonusers, a majority expect to prescribe CAMPATH(R) in the future as they become more familiar with the drug. For the full year 2002, ILEX expects global sales for CAMPATH(R) to reach $50-55 million, reflecting broader physician acceptance and adoption.

Commenting on the initial usage of CAMPATH(R), Michael J. Keating, M.B., B.S., Professor of Medicine in Hematology at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and a lead investigator in the CAMPATH(R) pivotal trial, said, "CAMPATH(R) is a very active agent that has quickly established itself as an important drug for advanced CLL patients. CAMPATH(R) is very effective at clearing the blood and bone marrow of diseased lymphocytes and has an acceptable safety profile. In terms of clinical benefit, we have seen marked improvement and sustained survival among patients who respond to the drug, and even in non-responders. Further studies are under way in earlier stage patients as we continue to learn how best to use this novel agent."

Reviewing ILEX`s plans for CAMPATH(R) in 2002, Buchalter said, "Now that we are full owners of the drug, we anticipate working more closely with Schering and Berlex. As the year progresses, ILEX intends to begin MSL (medical science liaison) field activities in the U.S., for high-level scientific exchange with oncology thought leaders, as we begin to lay the foundation for a marketing and commercialization infrastructure of our own."
