Martha Stewart Revs Up for Chrysler Deal

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Martha Stewart, the domestic lifestyle icon known for her magazine and soothing cooking and gardening television show, is now revving up for a deal to help sell cars.

The media and merchandising firm she heads up, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. (NYSE:MSO - news), is set to unveil a marketing partnership on Tuesday in which the Chrysler arm of German-U.S. auto giant DaimlerChrysler AG (DCXGn.DE) will exclusively sponsor Internet, radio, TV and print ads.

The Martha Stewart Living magazine kicked off the pact with a two-page ad in its April issue for the Chrysler Town and Country minivan.

The ad is part of a four-page montage beginning with a feature article on road trips, followed by the two-page ad and ending with the rest of the article and other editorial items. Stewart said similar ad-editorial combinations will run throughout the year in her magazine.

On Tuesday, the companies are expected to launch a broader campaign, extending ads to the http://www.Marthastewart.com Web site, the Martha Stewart syndicated daily television show and spots in the "askMartha" radio program, Stewart said in a conference call earlier this week, calling it a "multimillion dollar deal." The companies declined to discuss further financial details.

"It`s an interesting content area for them to be tackling," said Laura Richardson, an analyst for Adams, Harkness & Hill. "It`s fairly unique."

Richardson pointed out the similarity to retailer Eddie Bauer`s pact with Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F - news). Since they teamed up in 1983, Ford has made more than 1 million "Eddie Bauer Edition" trucks and sports utility vehicles -- souped up versions of standard Explorers and Broncos, among other models.

But Martha Stewart spokeswoman Elizabeth Estroff said she doubted the partnership will entail a special edition "Martha Chrysler."

Also noch einmal langsam:
Ausnahmslos fast alle Aktien sind ca. 1 Prozent im Plus bei Lang und Schwarz im Sekundenhandel bei der DAB Bank. Da wird auch Sonntags gehandelt-für die, die es noch nicht wissen.....
