Macnica, Inc., a TecStar company and $680M semiconductor distributor located in Japan, and Tripath Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:TRPH), creators of 1-bit Delta Sigma Digital Audio Amplifiers, announced today they will co-develop an 8-channel digital amplifier that will be integrated into a single module.

This new-concept module consists of a digital interface, volume control, Tripath`s patented 1-bit delta sigma modulators, its patented high-power digital amplifier drivers, and transistors driven at the final stage that produces digital audio signal to external low-pass filters. The module targets 8 channel, greater than 100W per channel output power, 0.01% total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) into 8-ohm load (speakers). Because the module is being optimized for Tripath`s chipsets, power efficiency of greater than 95% is anticipated.

Den anderen, von 2001, hab ich mir sehr interessiert durchgelesen.

Also ich beschäftige mich nun seit mehreren jahren mit Car-Hifi und muß sagen,
die Class T Amps sind absolut auf dem Vormarsch.

Sind einfach der Verbund von Analog und digital, daher sind sie klanglich auf dem Wege an Analogamps heranzukommen(sind sie bei großen leistungen zwar noch nicht, aber für Tieffrequente Anwendungen optimal), und in sachen leistung halt auf dem stande der Digitaltechnik.
Kleinere Bauformen sind möglich.
Wer sich heutzutage was in sachen HIFI zulegen möchte wird/sollte nach Produkten schauen, die mit TRIPATH chips ausgestattet sind.

The new platform uses a radically different power stage architecture in concert with Tripath`s Class-T controllers and MOSFETs (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors), enabling Tripath to offer the lowest cost and highest performance audiophile quality digital amplifiers in the market.

Sharp erwartet Rekordhalbjahr dank LCD-TV

Tokyo 02.10.03 (asia-economy.de) Der japanische Elektronikgeräte-Hersteller Sharp Corp (ISIN JP3359600008) erwartet im ersten Halbjahr ein Rekordergebnis. Es wird ein Vorsteuergewinn von 50 Mrd. Yen erwartet. Der Grund für das gute Ergebnis ist nach Unternehmensangaben der gute Verkauf von Flachbild-Fernsehern.

Das geschätzte Ergebnis stellt gegenüber dem Vorjahr ein 30%igen Anstieg dar. Auch die Dividende soll im ersten Halbjahr auf 8 Yen erhöht werden.

Auch die anderen Elektronikkonzerne Japans haben den LCD-TV Markt für sich erkannt. Obwohl Sharp immer noch der weltweite Marktführer ist, haben Matsushita Electric und Sony den Kampf angesagt.

trph hat heute in der widerstandszone zwischen gut 3 zund etwa 2,60$ gedreht, was ich grundsätzlich positiv werte. von intraday ca. 5,30$ bis hier war das bis jetzt eine anständige konsolidierung die einem atemberaubenden run folgte.

die bewertung von trph ist natürlich immer noch ambitioniert und enthält reichlich vorschußlorbeeren:

der kurs ist nach seinem run auf 5,28$ ohne news über 2,90$ in der widerstandszone bei 2,90$ abgeprallt. die aktie ist fundamental total überbewertet und lebt von der phantasie des möglichen aufgrund der von unternehmensaussagen herrausragenden chiptechnologie.
deswegen benötigt der chart weiter reale fact, positive news über weitere design wins etc. die dies bestätigen.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 2003-- Tripath Technology Inc. (Nasdaq:TRPH - News) creators of Digital Power Processing (DPP®) and Class-T(TM) advanced 1-bit Digital Amplifiers, today reported financial results for its third quarter of fiscal year 2003.
Revenues for the third quarter ended September 30, 2003 were $3.7 million, a 19% increase over revenues of $3.1 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2003 and an increase of 37% over revenues of $2.7 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2002.

The net loss applicable to the common stockholders for the third quarter was $1.5 million or $(0.04) per share, compared to a net loss of $1.8 million, or $(0.04) per share for the second quarter of fiscal 2003, and a net loss of $3.1 million or $(0.08) per share for the comparable 2002 quarter.

"We are pleased with the continued improvement in our operating performance during the third quarter, said Dr. Adya Tripathi, Chairman, President and CEO of Tripath. Dr. Tripathi, added, "We achieved 19% sequential revenue growth over the previous quarter and we were able to improve our gross profit margins from 29% in Q2 to 32% in Q3 as a result of favorable product mix. Operating expenses remained flat at $2.7 million and we increased our cash on hand to $9.1 million. We received approximately $1.7 million in September in proceeds from the exercise of stock warrants that were issued in connection with the January 2002 financing."

"We are again very pleased with our progress in securing a number of major design wins during the third quarter including flat panel TV design wins with JVC and Sanyo," continued Dr. Tripathi. Over 10 million LCD and plasma TV units are forecasted to be sold in 2004 and that number is expected to increase to over 40 million units per year in 2008. zu meiner verwunderung hat der kurs sich ja dann recht gut stabilisiert, bleibt abzuwarten wie TRPH sich heute verhält. wenn sie abwärts geht möchte ich mein geld ungern dort parken.

bei 4,20 setze ich stop- loss um weiter unten wieder einzusteigen. ansonsten bleibe ich investiert.

The Class-T(TM) TAA4100 enables car audio manufacturers to develop the industry`s most powerful 1-DIN car audio head units, which would not be possible to achieve with conventional analog amplifiers. A traditional analog amplifier powering a compact, 1-DIN car audio head unit would cause an excessive amount of heat to be dissipated under the dash due to its poor efficiency. The heat sinks and/or fans required to manage the excess heat take up space that would otherwise be used to improve features and performance to meet the demands of today`s discriminating consumers.

The TAA4100 delivers four channels of 100 Watts into 4 Ohms from a 25-volt power supply. The device is packaged in a single 32-pin SSIP. The TAA4100 signal to noise ratio of 100dB is capable of better than 0.02% THD+N.

The TAA4100 is also capable of driving 2-Ohm loads, which is of particular interest to Automotive OEM and professional audio distribution customers. The TAA4100`s ability to drive high current levels allows electronics designers the flexibility to use a larger supply voltage or smaller load (i.e., more current) to attain a particular power and performance level.

Samsung: Lieferabkommen mit Tripath, Veränderungen im Konzernvorstand


Der amerikanische Technologiekonzern Tripath Technology Inc. hat am Montag nach Börsenschluss ein Lieferabkommen mit dem südkoreanischen Technologiekonzern Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. geschlossen.
Im Rahmen der Vereinbarung wird Tripath seinen digitalen Tonverstärker TA 2024 für verschiedene Flachbildschirm-Fernseher sowie weitere Elektronikgeräte an Samsung liefern. Der Verstärker soll Konzernangaben zufolge unter anderem in zwei Flachbildfernseher-Modelle sowie in verschiedene Computerbildschirme eingebaut werden. Finanzielle Einzelheiten wurden nicht bekannt gegeben.

Des Weiteren gab die Samsung Gruppe am Dienstag verschiedene Veränderungen in der Vorstandsetage der Konzerngruppe bekannt. Konzernangaben zufolge sind insgesamt 15 Vorstandsmitglieder von den Veränderungen betroffen.

So wurde unter anderem der CPO (Chief Planning Officer), Lee Hak-soo, zum neuen Vice Chairman ernannt. Der Leiter der Halbleitersparte, Lee Yun-woo, wird zukünftig ebenfalls als Vice Chairman des Elektronikkonzerns fungieren.

Fünf weitere Senior Executive Vice Presidents der Samsung-Gruppe, darunter Kwon Oh-hyun von Samsung Electronics sowie Lee Chang-ryul von Samsung Heavy Industries, werden zukünftig Verantwortung als CEO der Unternehmens-Gruppe übernehmen.

Der Vice Chairman von Samsung Electronics, Yun Jong-yong, erhielt außerdem erweiterte Befugnisse über den Geschäftsbereich Haushaltsgeräte. Der Leiter der Geschäftssparte Speicherchips, Hwang Chang-gyu, wird zukünftig die Verantwortung für das gesamte Halbleitersegment von Samsung Electronics übernehmen.

Außerdem übernimmt der amtierende CEO und President von Samsung Capital, Je Jin-hoon, die Leitung der Konzerntochter Ceil Industries und löst dabei seinen Vorgänger Ahn Bok-hyun ab. Bok-hyun wechselt zum Chemiekonzern Samsung BP Chemicals Co, und wird dort eine leitende Funktion übernehmen, hieß es weiter.
