GoConnect: Speculative Buy
First Berlin vergibt in der Analyse vom 6.

Alle

Successful extension of Direct Assist from Windows Mobile to Java handsets to significantly expand market reach
Official GoConnect Press Release - 14 December 2004
GoConnect Ltd ("GoConnect") launched a revolutionary telephone directory search tool for mobile phone users of Microsoft Windows Mobile devices in August 2004, enabling these mobile phone users to search for global phone number information while on the move at a fraction of the cost of existing directory assistance services. Since the launch of Direct Assist, GoConnect has established a global network of 35 online affiliate sites that specialize in servicing mobile handset users, to market and distribute Direct Assist. Additional agreements will be finalized to add to this affiliate network. These online affiliates significantly extend the global reach and visibility that GoConnnect can achieve by itself via www.directassist.com.au. Satisfied customer feedbacks from the use of Direct Assist have been most encouraging: www.directassist.com.au/about_testimonials.shtml.
The successful launch of Direct Assist on the Windows Mobile platform provided the springboard for GoConnect to further extend this exciting utility search tool to mobile phones with other operating platforms. GoConnect is now pleased to announce that the company has successfully developed Direct Assist for Java enabled handsets with MIDP2 technology (Mobile Information Device Profile version 2). Most mobile handsets introduced to the market recently are equipped with MIDP2 and hence will be compatible with Direct Assist.
Direct Assist can now potentially work on any Java handsets with MIDP2. The First release of Direct Assist on Java handsets by early 2005 is expected to be compatible with a range of Motorola phones with MIDP2 including E398, V600, V525, V550, V620, V3, V535, V303, V300 and V303P, Nokia phones with MIDP2 including 6170, 9300, 7280, 7270, 6260, 6630, 6255, 7610, 9500, 6620, 5140, 6600, 6230, and 7700, and Sony Ericsson phones with MIDP2 including P910, K500i, Z500, K700, S700, P900, and Z1010.
The extension of Direct Assist from Windows Mobile to Java handsets and across multiple major brands and models of each brand has already attracted the interest of a number of mobile content providers and mobile phone retailers. The company is also in discussion with mobile phone retailers to bundle Direct Assist with mobile telephone plans on offer, providing a much value added service and savings to their customers. The increased interest and expanding distribution network are expected to significantly lift the sales of Direct Assist in 2005.

Times Internet Ltd of India and GoConnect Ltd of Australia target to dominate mobile media in India with m-Vision mobile video services
Official GoConnect Press Release - 24 December 2004
The mobile video service scenario in India is set for a radical makeover with Times Internet Ltd (TIL) entering into a major marketing and distribution partnership agreement with GoConnect Australia.
The m-Vision service will broaden the reach of The Times Group`s existing fixed line Internet audience and allow subscribers to access broadcast quality video content through the m-Vision mobile delivery platform.
"It`s an exciting venture and we will be able to redefine the rules of the game in the interests of the consumers," said Mahendra Swarup, CEO, TIL.
TIL`s flagship online media property, www.indiatimes.com is India`s largest web portal, with over 30 million monthly unique visitors, and also has content sourcing relationships with most leading Indian music labels and Bollywood production houses.
"Today our 8888 SMS is the most popular content service provider with 75 per cent market share in India and a daily usage of over 1.5 million messages. Through the m-Vision platform, The Times Group`s marketing power, and our ability to source compelling video content from the Indian music industry and Bollywood, we aim to dominate the mobile media industry in India by taking it to a new multimedia level," said TN Prabhu, General Manager (Telecom), TIL.
TIL, the wholly owned subsidiary of The Times Group, the largest media group in India, and GoConnect Australia, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australian Stock Exchange listed GoConnect Ltd (GCN), are targeting the explosive growth of the mobile user base in India.
The existing 45 million mobile users are set to more than double next year. In fact, the growth this year alone will touch 65 per cent with 1.5 million mobile customers being added to the network each month - more than 37 million phones are expected to be sold in 2005.
"We are delighted to be able to partner with such a substantial media group and we look forward to expanding our existing content portfolio, sourced from famous brands including ABC TV, ABC Asia Pacific, and Naked News, to include Bollywood and Indian music content. Our partnership may well be extended to include a number of significant Windows Mobile device vendors in the future," said Richard Li, Chairman, GoConnect Ltd.
The partnership will also be able to expand the m-Vision subscriber base and advertising revenue by leveraging upon The Times Group`s significant offline and online media properties and customer base from all over the world, including both the local and expatriate Indian communities.
