Feb 7 (Reuters) - U.S. solar company SunPower Corp reported a wider fourth-quarter net loss after taking charges for restructuring its business.
The company's fourth-quarter net loss was $144.8 million, or $1.22 per share, compared with a net loss of $93 million, or 94 cents per share, a year ago.
Excluding items, the company earned 18 cents a share.
Revenue was $678.5 million, up from $625.3 million a year ago.
SunPower is majority-owned by Total SA.

da wird First eventuell mitziehen denn die sind auch bald mit den Zahlen dran,
naja da sind wir nur ganz knapp an den 5 % Tageszuwachs vorbeigeschrammt und nachboerslich gehts munter weiter auch suedlich
du siehst waldi so einfach ist das net, hier ist geduld angesagt
also morgen nach der durch weg gruenen Woche, gehe ich von gewinn mitnahmen aus also wenn dann nur minimale zuwaechse wenn nicht sogar verluste bei unseren beiden zugpferden First und Sun
die Zahlen von Sunpower sind noch nicht draussen, wenn du se irgendwo siehst stell se rein ok
du siehst waldi so einfach ist das net, hier ist geduld angesagt

A few years ago, liberal politicians were saying that solar power was about to take off, that it would make lots of money because demand would prove strong. If you listened to those politicians, you lost money.
Today, conservative politicians say that lower subsidies "put the future of the industry in doubt." If you believe these politicians, you will again lose money.
Notice a pattern? Don't take financial advice from politicians. It's like eating at a place called Mom's, or playing poker with a guy named Slim. Instead, look at any claims with a business eye. Understand the fundamentals of the industry.
In the case of solar, we're talking about an industry based on computer chip manufacturing, which means it's subject to steady reductions in cost and increases in efficiency. But you don't start there. You start with low yields, minimal efficiency, and high up-front costs.
So a policy of subsidy made a lot of sense a few years ago, and a policy of reduced subsidy makes sense now, as places like Hawaii and California pass the point of being competitive with grid energy, and remaining subsidies of various kinds -- public and private -- create growing markets elsewhere. That doesn't mean margins will ever fully recover -- demand will remain met by supply for some time.
But recovery is underway.
The sell side of the market remains the sweet spot, because demand will remain short of supply until crossover is achieved more broadly, so companies like Solar City (SCTY) are starting to make sense to analysts at places like Goldman Sachs (GS).

Kurzes Abtauchen unter die 31 $
ganz gut so: denn es muss ja nur bis Handels schluss 5 % rauf gehen ;-)
Das Abtauchen bedeutet eher kurze Bodenbildung ..
und macht die Heiss die noch nicht haben ...
bis dato noch keine grossen Brocken im Umsatz ;-)
so wenn die kommen wissen wir whon die Reise geht ..

ja das sieht im Pre sehr gut aus sowie fuer First und auch Sunpower,
bei guten Zahlen von Sunpower so gegen 19.00 Uhr koennten sich beide
auf 5% tageszuwachs hcohziehen, wenn nicht sogar mehr
ich dachte erst am Mittwoch sehe ich meine 32.16 wieder aber ich glaube das ist schon heute 15.45 Uhr soweit
danke waldi fuer deine kommentare aber wie gesagt immer schoen ruhig bleiben, First solar hatte fast 5 Wochen vor sich hingekackt um alles in drei tagen wieder aufzuholen, aber es ist nicht gesagt das wir jetzt durchreisen, kann sein das morgen der erste Ruecksetzter richtung 30.50 kommt
die Einigung im Ami senat ist auch noch nicht da wegen schuldenobergrenze
also immer schoen locker bleiben
