There Are Significant Differences Between the Anonymous Letters V1 and V2?
      b.
The Anonymous Letter V1 suggested that Silvercorp only has US$7.0 million of cash on hand while in Anonymous Letter V2 the authors now acknowledge that Silvercorp has US$87 million but state that “we remain, at this time, unconvinced that the Chinese cash balances are present in full, or 2) if present, unencumbered by liens.” The Company notes that the authors do not provide any information to substantiate this false accusation which the Company contends is in keeping with the fraudulent actions of the authors.  The Company has posted its bank statements online, and its bank balances have been audited by a top international accounting firm.

You have to follow the money and examine who the shorts really are.

This was a professional operation. A small group of individuals, I will call them the professional shorts, accumulated 25 million shorts slowly over the course of 2 weeks. By reading the short volume reports you can determine that their average short price was around $8.65.

When they went public they were counting on the amateur shorts and the panicked longs to destroy the price of the stock. I refer to amateur shorts as the blog followers and short wannabees that plague the message boards. There are a lot of them.

The company, SVM, fought back and the shares did not fall as the pro-shorts had expected. They had to resort to alternative tactics (more letters, etc). I think the pro-shorts realized that they were cornered.

Two weeks ago, over 70 million shares changed hands in 2 days at an average price below $7. The short interest before this attack and after this attack did not change substantially. I strongly believe that the pro-shorts covered and took a profit below $7 and handed the shorts over to the amateur shorts who would have entered the game (albeit late) below $7. Basically the pros used the amateurs to cover their positions.

At this price ($7.80) the shorts are trapped. Exchanges are reporting that there are no stocks available to borrow, so no new shorts can be legally created. So they won't be helped by more shorts. I think that they are sitting there with a small loss ($0.80) hoping for a small dip in price so that they can cover and minimize their losses. If that dip doesn't happen soon, or the price rises substantially, they will get spooked and they will all cover en mass.

The door is small and the longs are determined. There are 25+ million shorts at $7 that need to cover. A spike to $20+ is not unreasonable.

I would watch the daily volume. The longs are looking to see what happens with that 25 million shares. I am not going to give an inch to the shorts. I refuse to sell a single share until I see some significant volume crossing the tape. Which by the way I am expecting to also correlate to a significant jump in price.

I will also be a buyer on every move above a break of a resistance point. If other longs are also playing this technique it will make it even harder for the shorts to cover.

sollte es wirklich so eintreffen werden die longs alle einen schönen
spätherbst bzw. eine fröhliche weihnacht feiern können.

Mine Tour Rumor 27-Sep-11 11:25 am
Rumor has it that on the first day of the SVM mine tour, due to business circumstances, the 7 analysts were not aloowed into the mine, but were able to observe outside. Towards the end of the day, a truck leaving the Ying mine, dropped several rocks, which the analysts then fought over. One of the analysts, contrarian Alfred Little, upon jumping for a rock suddenly felt a sharp pain in his back, which he attributed to a rock hitting his back. On the way to the hospital, he was heard saying "I knew it. SVM has unsafe practices in their mining operations!"

However, upon examination at the hospital, the doctors told Little, "we ghave some bad news for you and some good news for you." "What's that" Little queried. "Well" the doctors told him "the bad news is that it wasn't a rock that hit your back, it was a round from a shotgun." "So what's the good news?" Little asked. The doctor responded, "given what happened, we had our forensics department look at the buckshot, and found it to have the highest lead quality of any shells we have ever seen."

It was later rumored that Little, disgusted by the results, decided to leave China and pursue another hot tip he had on a fake coal mine overseas, and is currently on the way to Peru for a deep tour. Interestingly, the company to which he is visiting, only paid for a one way ticket...

A Monster Rally for Silvercorp Metals

      Don't let it get away!

Under the right conditions, incredible strides can be made by simply standing still.

Technically speaking, Silvercorp Metals (NYSE: SVM ) has gone nowhere fast over the past few trading sessions. But when observed within the context of the sharp and destructive selloff that has battered silver stocks over that time, the ability of Silvercorp's shares to hold the line while those of its peers collapsed marks a truly noteworthy achievement.

The following five-day chart from Yahoo! Finance shows recent highflyer First Majestic Silver (NYSE: AG ) shedding some 17%, Silver Wheaton (NYSE: SLW ) and Endeavour Silver (NYSE: EXK ) each careening lower by more than 20%, and Great Panther Silver (AMEX: GPL ) faring slightly worse still. Needless to say, this long-term silver bull considers all four stocks outstanding values amid the selloff.
      anImage

Meanwhile, an outlying 24% retreat for the iShares Silver Trust (NYSE: SLV ) thus far distinguishes this correction from prior selloffs where mining equities had tended to fall farther and faster than prices for the underlying metal. Correspondingly, as of Friday the silver-bullion proxy had seen none of the significant outflows that one might expect to have accompanied such a severe and sudden price drop.

What makes the relatively stable performance by shares of Silvercorp Metals so very remarkable is that the company had recently been under concerted attack by anonymous individuals leveling serious allegations that briefly rattled the nerves of longstanding investors. I did my part to help set the record straight after the company revealed the existence of the first anonymous letter earlier this month, but of course the company itself deserves all the credit for mounting a rapid, transparent, and highly effective refutation of the various allegations on the company's website.

Having exhaustively reviewed the publicly available claims and supporting documents from both sides of the discussion, it is the concerted opinion of this Fool that Silvercorp Metals will continue to emerge from the allegations of these anonymous short traders with its reputation and credibility intact. I also note with interest the disclosure from the anonymous entity Alfred Little circulated last Thursday, stating that because of "a lack of ability to borrow SVM shares to sell short, contributors to today's report currently have no position in SVM but may initiate new positions at any time." That is certainly encouraging news for Silvercorp investors like myself, and it may help to explain the stock's noteworthy resilience in recent days -- although it doesn't necessarily mean the short-attack is yet complete.

I believe the longs will carry the day here, though the road ahead could be fraught with volatility. Although I reduced my own position slightly to favor silver stocks that are not in the crosshairs of vocal shorts, I must say … the stock's performance over the past few sessions thus far has me second-guessing that decision. But I'm more interested to know how you've reacted to this complex and fluid situation. Are you long, short, or sticking to the sidelines? Post your comments below, and to follow this developing story, be sure to add Silvercorp Metals to your Watchlist.
