Astral Mining Corporation (\"Astral\" or the \"Company\") (TSX VENTURE:AST)(PINK SHEETS:ASMGF)(FRANKFURT:A7D)(WKN:A0JDX3) and Kootenay Gold Inc. (\"Kootenay\") (TSX VENTURE:KTN) are pleased to provide results for the first 2 holes (of a 20 hole program) completed on the JJ Main Gold Zone from the ongoing Phase I diamond drilling program on the Jumping Josephine (JJ) Gold Project in southeast British Columbia.

The first batch of results from HQ diamond holes 07JD001 and 07JD002 include 10m averaging 9.95 g/t Au (32.8 feet at 0.29opt(i)) from 07JD001 (see attached map). Based on current information this zone has an estimated true width of 7.80m (25.58 feet). Assays are pending for the remaining 18 drill holes and will be released in batches as assays are received by the Company.

At the JJ Main Gold Zone (which remains open at depth and along strike) 1,461m in 20 holes have been completed along 5 fences, testing the gold-bearing quartz stockwork zone over a strike length of 180m and to a vertical depth of 100m. Surface trenching on the stockwork zone during 2006 by Astral returned channel sample intervals of up to 31.19 g/t gold over 7m, including 133.91 g/t gold over 1m (see Astral\'s December 14th 2006 news release).

Astral is earning a 60% interest in the JJ Project from Kootenay (see April 12, 2006 news release).

All drill core samples comprised 1m intervals of HQ drill core halved by diamond core saw. All analytical results reported herein are from 500g samples analyzed using the Metallic Gold method by Acme Laboratories in Vancouver B.C. Observation of gold concentrations in the coarse versus fine fractions from these analyses has prompted Astral to forward mineralized intercepts to a second independent laboratory for confirmatory metallic screen analysis using a larger, 1kg sample size. Core logging, cutting and sampling of drill core is proceeding and all quartz stockwork zones encountered in JJ Main holes have now been submitted for analysis. Results will be released in batches as they are received. Drilling is continuing on the Bonanza Pass target on the southern portion of the JJ Property.

Drill Hole Summary

Hole 07JD001 collared approximately 7m southeast of the surface expression of the stockwork zone delineated in last year\'s trenching (Figure 1) and was oriented towards 315 degrees azimuth at a dip of -45 degrees below Trench 2a which averaged 31.19 g/t gold over 7m (December 14, 2006 News Release). The hole encountered sericitized quartz monzonite, strongly silicified between 7.0m and 16.62. This zone is characterized by cross cutting and sheeted quartz veins up to 15cm wide with arsenopyrite, pyrite, sphalerite and galena mineralization. Visible gold was observed in one discrete 15cm vein within the stockwork zone.

Hole 07JD002 was drilled from the same pad towards the same azimuth at a dip of -65 degrees. Similar lithologies were encountered and the silicified stockwork zone was observed between 10.4m and 19.1m. Quartz veins within the zone were similarly mineralized with pyrite, sphalerite, arsenopyrite and lesser galena.

Mit lediglich 17,7 Mio. ausgegebenen Aktien und einem Kurs von 0,34 Euro ist die Börsenbewertung im Vergleich zu fast allen anderen Explorationsgesellschaften minimal.
Die zwei wichtigsten Projekte von Astral weisen zudem enorme Goldgehalte auf und befinden sich in den USA und Kanada. Ein politisches Risiko kann somit ausgeschlossen werden. Im Projekt Jumping Josephine in British Columbia ergaben die Bohrungen einen Goldgehalt von bis zu 9,9 g pro Tonne, was weit über dem Durchschnitt liegt, in den aktuellen Bohrungen konnte dies nun auf 43 g/t Gold gesteigert werden und übertraf somit das Top-Ergebnis von Carolina.
In der Liegenschaft in South Carolina konnte man bis zu 31g/t Gold im Boden finden, was ebenfalls weit überdurchschnittlich ist.


Fazit:

Nachdem Astral Ende Oktober im Zuge der positiven Bohrergebnisse förmlich explodiert ist, bietet sich nun erneut eine optimale Einstiegsmöglichkeit. Nach einer Korrektur von 30% zum Oktober-Höchstkurs liegt im aktuellen Bereich eine massive Unterstützung. Astral Mining überzeugt durch die Unternehmensstruktur, das Management und vor allen durch die hervorragenden Bohrergebnisse. Bei einer aktuellen Börsenbewertung von lediglich 6 Mio. Euro ist der Wert ganz klar unterbewertet. In den nächsten Tagen sollte man das günstige Kursniveau unbedingt zum Kauf bzw. Ausbau von Astral-Positionen nutzen.

dem Goldprojekt Jumping Josephine

Vancouver, BC - Astral Mining Corporation (TSX-V AST) ("Astral" oder das
"Unternehmen") und Kootenay Gold Inc. (TSX-V KTN) haben nun die
vollständigen Untersuchungsergebnisse des Phase-II-Bohrprogramms 2007 in
der
Hauptgoldzone JJ auf dem Goldprojekt Jumping Josephine (JJ) im Südosten
von
British Columbia erhalten.

Innerhalb der strukturell begrenzten Quarz-Stockwork-Adern bei der Hauptzone
Jumping Josephine wurde eine Goldmineralisierung entlang von 15
Abschnittslinien auf einer Streichenlänge von 700 m und bis in eine
vertikale Tiefe von 225 m unterhalb der Oberfläche entdeckt. Basierend
auf
den viel versprechenden Ergebnissen der Bohrungen 2007 ist für das Jahr
2008
ein intensives Explorationsprogramm geplant - einschließlich weiterer
Bohrungen, einer geophysikalischen 3D-IP-Untersuchung sowie weiterer
Schürf-
und Bodenrasterfelder.

Die Highlights der letzten Ergebnisse beinhalten 5,96 g/t Gold auf 1 m in
Bohrloch 07JD068 und 3,57 g/t Gold auf 2 m in Bohrloch 07JD043. Die
vollständigen Ergebnisse sind in Tabelle 1 dargestellt.

Die Highlights der Golduntersuchung des vollständigen Programms 2007
beinhalten:

Aeromagnetische Infill-Untersuchungen, geologische Kartierungen und
geochemische Oberflächenuntersuchungen weisen darauf hin, dass sich die
Struktur des mineralisierten Stockworks bei der Hauptzone JJ auf über drei

Kilometer erstreckt. Die aktuellen Informationen weisen darauf hin, dass die
Hauptgoldzone JJ eine geschätzte Breite von bis zu 12,6 m (41,32 Fuß)

aufweist, wie das bereits zuvor gemeldete Bohrloch 07JD013 ergab (siehe
Pressemitteilung vom 12. Juli 2007).

Die Phase-II-Bohrungen umfassten 5.101 m in 38 Bohrlöchern auf der
Hauptzone
JJ, wodurch sich die bisherige Gesamtlänge auf der Hauptzone JJ auf 6.531
m
in 58 Bohrlöchern und auf dem Projekt JJ auf insgesamt 7.727 m in 69
Bohrlöchern erhöht. Die übrigen, bisher noch nicht
veröffentlichten
Untersuchungsergebnisse sind in dieser Pressemitteilung enthalten. Eine
detaillierte Interpretation der Bohrungen 2007 und eine Kartierung stehen
kurz vor dem Abschluss; auch die Planung von Bohrlöchern für das
bevorstehende Programm 2008 wird in Kürze abgeschlossen werden.

Technische Details

Sämtliche Kernbohrproben, über die in dieser Pressemitteilung
berichtet
wird, wurden von einem HQ-Kerndurchmesser entnommen - ausgenommen
NQ2-Kerngröße in den Bohrlöchern 07JD068-069. Alle Proben
wurden in
Abständen von 1 m entnommen; der Kern wurde mit einer Diamantsäge in
zwei
Hälften geteilt. Die analytischen Ergebnisse dieser Pressemitteilung
stammen von 1000 g Proben, die mittels einer Au-Screen-Brandmethode
analysiert wurden - abgesehen von den Proben der Bohrlöcher 07JD055, 062
und
067, welche mittels einer Brandprobe mit gravimetrischem Abschluss auf einer
30 g Probe analysiert wurden. Sämtliche Analysen wurden von ALS Chemex in

North Vancouver, B.C., durchgeführt. ALS Chemex ist ein international
angesehener Analysedienstleister. Zusätzlich zu den Laborstandards
fügte
Astral auch unabhängig aufbereitete Standards zur Probensequenz hinzu, um
die eigene Qualitätssicherung/Qualitätskontrolle (QA/QC)
sicherzustellen.

Die in dieser Pressemitteilung gemeldeten Explorationsarbeiten wurden unter
Aufsicht des Projektgeologen von Astral, Dale Brittliffe, B. Sc.,

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 06/26/08 -- Astral Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE: AST)(PINK SHEETS: ASMGF)(FRANKFURT: A7D)(WKN# A0JDX3) ("Astral" or "the Company") and joint venture partner Kootenay Gold Inc. (TSX VENTURE: KTN) are pleased to announce the second batch of assays from two HQ drill holes of the 30 hole, 5,000m diamond drilling program currently underway on the Jumping Josephine gold property in south-eastern British Columbia. In addition, a 40 line kilometre 3-D Induced Polarization geophysical survey has been completed, preliminary results have been received and final data processing is nearing completion.

Assay results include 8.31 g/t gold over 8 metres from hole 08JD074 and 7.01 g/t gold over 2 metres from hole 08JD073. Detailed results are provided below in Table 1.

08JD073 was drilled on the same section as previously reported drillhole 08JD070-72 (see June 9, 2008 news release) and 07JD074 was drilled on a section 10m south of the section containing holes 07JD001-4.

These infill holes are designed to block-out near surface mineralization on the JJ Main discovery zone where preliminary drill-testing in 2007 identified structurally-controlled gold-bearing quartz stockwork veining over a strike length of 700m and to vertical depths of up to 225m below surface on 15 section lines.

The 40 line km 3D-IP was located to cover a circular 2km diameter aeromagnetic feature that the JJ Main Discovery Zone is centred over. It was carried out to augment currently available geochemical, geological and aeromagnetic data in identifying new JJ Main-style gold zones, assessing the potential for porphyry-style mineralization associated with the circular magnetic feature at depth and extending the 700m strike length of the JJ Main zone.

While final data processing and modelling is underway, preliminary results of the 3D IP survey show a large zone of elevated chargeability (greater than 10 milliseconds) occurs directly below and aligned with the JJ Main Zone structure in a northeast orientation. This anomaly starts at approximately 300m depth and extends 2.4km along strike and is 250 to 600m wide. The core of the anomaly has a chargeability level of greater than 15 milliseconds. Several chimney-like arms of high chargeability protrude upwards into the area of the JJ Main Zone, however, they appear to have been inadequately tested by the drilling completed to date. The deep chargeability anomaly extends 1km north of the current drilling to the northern edge of the survey. This large chargeability anomaly, which has an obvious spatial relationship to the high-grade gold stockwork vein system at JJ Main, represents a compelling drill target which will be tested during the current phase of drilling once modelling of the anomaly is completed. In addition, a number of chargeability anomalies were detected peripheral to the JJ Main trend; several are associated with known surface rock and soil geochemical anomalies. These also will be prioritized for drill testing. Resistivity data demonstrates that the JJ Main zone is related to a linear resistivity low.

Technical Details

All samples reported were taken from HQ diameter core halved by diamond saw. Visible gold was observed within quartz veins comprising the stockwork zone in 08JD074. As with previous work at the JJ Main prospect, samples from the stockwork zone were assumed to contain coarse gold and were analyzed by the screen fire assay method. This method aims to report the total contained gold for a 1,000g sub-sample of each pulverized sample received and is considered more accurate than the routine 30g fire assay analysis when coarse gold is present. All analyses were reported by ALS Chemex in North Vancouver B.C. ALS-Chemex is an internationally-recognized analytical service provider. In addition to laboratory standards Astral has included its own blanks and independently-prepared standards into the sample sequence to assure proper quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC). Samples adjacent to the mineralized stockwork zone do not host obvious quartz veining or sulphide mineralization and are sent for 30gm fire assay analysis for gold.

The 3D IP survey and processing was carried out by SJ Geophysics Ltd. of Delta B.C. Data were collected on a coarse spaced 200m grid utilizing 100m dipoles over a 2.4km x 2.8km area and a tighter 100m spaced infill grid on 50m dipoles over an area 1km x 1.6km. The coarse grid centred on the circular magnetic feature and was designed to test for buried porphyry style anomalies at depth, while the infill grid was designed to characterize the JJ Main zone and help identify parallel or down dip/plunge analogues.

Exploration work reported in this release was completed under the supervision of Astral's Project Geologist Dale Brittliffe, P.Geo. Technical information contained in this release has been reviewed by Dr. David A. Terry, P.Geo., Director and Vice President of Exploration for Astral Mining Corporation, and a Qualified Person as defined in National Instrument 43-101.
