Glance Technologies Inc. has appointed Kirk Herrington as chairman of the board.
Mr. Herrington has been on the company's board of directors since October, 2015, providing Glance with his extensive experience as a software executive.
"It's very exciting to see Glance take a leadership position in the mobile payments industry with best-in-class security and support for the cryptocurrency payments," said Mr. Herrington. "I am honoured to be appointed chairman and excited about the future for Glance."
Mr. Herrington is an accomplished technology industry executive who has played a key role in the success of a number of prominent software companies. He has over 30 years of senior-level experience in the design, development and commercialization of advanced software technologies, as well as extensive strategic and management expertise. Prior to co-founding GaleForce, Mr. Herrington was executive vice-president, products, and chief technology officer of Pivotal Corp., a leading vendor of mid-market customer relationship management (CRM) solutions to the financial services and health care industries. During his tenure, Pivotal was recognized as one of the top 10 fastest-growing technologies companies in North America.
Previously, Mr. Herrington co-founded Simba Technologies Inc. and was chief technology officer then chief executive officer. In the position of chief executive officer for his last two years with this data access middleware company, he developed new strategies and restructured the company to capitalize on growth opportunities and managed a new e-business product unit that ultimately led to a $30-million acquisition by Pivotal. Among his business achievements, Mr. Herrington has won Business in Vancouver's Top 40 Under 40 Award, which recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs and executives. He holds a bachelor of applied science from the University of British Columbia.
In connection with the appointment, the company is granting Mr. Herrington 250,000 options to be vested over one year.

Manitoba has been ranked as the world's second best jurisdiction foe mining investment by the Fraser Institute.
Company's prospectors collected 60 representative rock chip samples from historic trenches and pits in Dykes 2,3 and 4. These samples were analyzed for multiple elements including lithium and related metals.
High grade lithium with maximum values of 1.42% and 2.71% Lithium Oxide (Li20) were documented from Dykes 2 and 4 respectively.
These results increase the number of known high grade lithium-bearing pegmatite dykes on the Zoro property thereby providing targets for upcoming diamond drilling.
Keith Anderson, President & CEO, stated: "The number of significant lithium-bearing pegmatite dykes on the Zoro property continues to grow as our geoscientific data becomes available. Two prospecting teams are now on our newly acquired ground at Zoro to explore for new lithium-bearing pegmatite. We also anxiously await assay results from our recently completed drill program on Dyke 1. The geological setting and exploration of our Zoro property and results from research into new exploration guidelines for the property will be presented at the upcoming Manitoba Mining Convention where we will also have a booth."

The company has a second property, the Winston Project in New Mexico, a historic mining property with potential for silver and gold.
The shares are trading at $0.42, and with 91 million shares currently outstanding, the company is capitalized at $38.2 million.
