      hallo,
nun, gemäß dem allgeinen blutbad, steht grange recht gut.
leider mit 0,455 wieder stark am 38er und 100er durchschnitt.

müsste nun wieder innerhalb seiner seit langem ausgeprägten
      trendtendenzlinie (0,45 - 0,51) hoch gehen.

Airport, port receive state cash infusion
      quelle:
      http://www.timesunion.com/business/article/Airport-port-rece…

ALBANY — The Port of Albany and Albany International Airport received millions of dollars in state funding Thursday under the Cuomo administration's new regional economic development council approach.

The port's application to replace a wharf on its Rensselaer side, prepared by Tom Owens, the port commission's general counsel, was chosen to receive $11.5 million — the biggest award received Thursday by a Capital Region project.

Richard Hendrick, the port's general manager, said the money will be used to replace the last 600 feet of original wharf at the Rensselaer port on the east side of the Hudson River. That wharf, he said, dates to the 1920s.

A separate part of the Rensselaer wharf was replaced in the 1970s, and more recently, a project to replace the Albany wharf was completed.

The Albany County Airport Authority, meanwhile, will receive $3.78 million to double the size of the Colgan Air maintenance hangar, airport authority CEO John O'Donnell said.

Colgan, a unit of Pinnacle Airlines, maintains its fleet of Q400 turboprop aircraft at the airport.

The planes have become more popular with regional carriers, which are using the 74-seat aircraft to replace older, fuel-guzzling regional jets.

Colgan operates the planes for United and Continental airlines.

"Colgan has been reluctant to sign a long-term lease because they can't maintain two Q400s at the same time," O'Donnell said. "Now, they can."

Colgan, which already employs 50 people at the airport, is expected to add 30 aircraft maintenance jobs, which pay about $50,000 annually, O'Donnell said.

Total cost of the hangar project is expected to be about $4.2 million, with the airport authority contributing approximately 10 percent of the amount.

O'Donnell said Colgan has sought the expansion of the airport-owned building for at least 18 months.

The port project, meanwhile, is expected to cost between $12.6 million and $12.7 million, Hendrick said, with the port providing a 10 percent match. He said he hopes construction will start in the spring and continue through 2012.

The port has been talking with shippers to move barges loaded with aggregates such as sand or stone used by cement contractors in the New York City area.

"We're looking at six to eight" barges a month, to start, Hendrick said.

      http://www.theresourcechannel.com.au/index.php?q=blog/grange…

Grange Resources Limited owns and operates Australia’s largest integrated iron ore mining and pellet production business located in the northwest region of Tasmania. The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine, 100km southwest of the city of Burnie, is a long life mining asset set to continue operation to 2023 with current reserves estimated to extend the mine life to 2028. At Port Latta, 70kms northwest of Burnie, is Grange Resources’ own pellet plant and port facility producing approximately 2.3 million tonnes of premium quality iron ore pellets annually with plans to increase annual production to 2.7 million tonnes by 2010. Long term supply contracts see these pellets shipped to major steel producers in Australia and Asia.

As well as this profitable magnetite operation, Grange Resources is developing a world class magnetite development project at Southdown, 90kms northeast of the Port of Albany in Western Australia, which has just received the final all-clear from the Western Australian Environment Minister. The green light was also given for the proposed pipeline infrastructure that will accompany the mine.

The US$1.6bn Southdown development project is forecast to supply nearly three times the amount of ore iron from Savage River, being 6.6 million tonnes of premium magnetite concentrate annually. Plans are to ship this concentrate to a dedicated pelletising facility to be built at an as-yet undecided location.

Grange Resources Limited is Australia’s only commercial producer of magnetite pellets. Development of Southdown will see Grange Resources becoming one of the major suppliers of iron ore pellets in the region. The Southdown Magnetite Project is a joint venture between Grange and Sojitz Corporation, a Japanese trading house in which Grange has a 70% share.

It is proposed to mine the Southdown Magnetite deposit using proven open pit mining methods with the magnetite mineralisation being crushed, ground, screened and then magnetically separated to produce a magnetite concentrate at a planned ultimate production rate of 6.6 million tonne per annum (Mtpa). Coarse production waste (tailings) will be dewatered and deposited as solid tailings while finer material will be deposited in a slurry form into a tailings storage facility. Overburden is to be placed in waste rock dumps for the first five years of production following which progressive backfilling of the pit with both waste rock and tailings is planned.

The magnetite concentrate will be pumped as slurry, approximately 100 km to a concentrate storage facility at the port of Albany before being loaded on to vessels and shipped to the yet-to-be-constructed iron ore pellet plant. Filtered water recovered from the slurry will be pumped back to the mine site for re-use in the concentrator via a return water pipeline buried beside the slurry pipeline.

At Albany Port, the construction of a new berth will be required and the Albany Port Authority will reclaim land to accommodate a concentrate storage facility and ship loading infrastructure.

Widening of the existing shipping channel into Princess Royal Harbour and extending the channel into King George Sound is also proposed to facilitate the access of capesize vessels.

Grange intends to export the Magnetite concentrate from Albany to a new pellet plant located at a suitable location. The design capacity of the pellet plant is 6.8 Mtpa. These pellets are forecast to be suitable for use in producing Direct Reduced Iron (DRI).

The magnetite resource within the Grange mining leases is sufficient to support the planned production rate of 6.6 Mtpa for a period of approximately 22 years. Known extensions to the magnetite deposit within the adjacent exploration licence could extend the project life considerably.

An extensive team of consultants has been engaged for some time on the Bankable Feasibility Study. Grange Resources is now awaiting final Commonwealth approval for the project, expected in the near future, in order to commence construction.

This is further good news for the southern region, most recently impacted by the closure of the BHP Billiton Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation. Not only is there talk of the BHP Billiton operation soon being sold, but Galaxy Resources is now on track to commission the Mount Cattlin Lithium Tantalum project by quarter three of 2010, and with recruitment already underway. The site will employ up to 100 people post construction.
In addition, Tectonic Resources also plan to develop a gold mine - with an anticipated life span of ten years - at their Phillips River site between Hopetoun and Ravensthorpe. The soonest it could start construction is early in 2010, creating 120 jobs.
