US invests millions more in hydrogen and fuel cell researchPrint12 June 2013

The US government is investing millions of dollars more in hydrogen and fuel cell technology, the Department of Energy has confirmed.

Some $9 million in new funding is being made available for the development of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies for use in vehicles, backup power systems, and hydrogen refuelling components.

It is hoped the money will help bring these technologies into the marketplace at lower cost.

"Projects selected for funding will demonstrate, deploy, and validate hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in real-world environments," the Energy Department said.

"These efforts aim to reduce the costs of hydrogen and fuel cells industry-wide, expand critical infrastructure, and build a solid domestic supplier base."

Projects selected for funding represent a wide variety of applications with potential for widespread commercialisation.

Fuel cell hybrid electric medium-duty trucks, advanced hydrogen refuelling components, rooftop installations of hydrogen fuel cell backup power systems and hydrogen meter research and development are some of the areas to benefit.

The Energy Department is accepting applications for the funding now. It will make available up to $9 million for up to eight projects from industry, academia, and national labs.

Bloom Energy ist leider nicht börsennotiert.

Ich frage mich außerdem, was dieses Invesment seitens E.ON für Hydrogenics bedeutet, die habgen eine eine 1 MW-Anlage für E.ON in Hamburg aufgestellt.

Ja und warum das so ist, steht auch im Report:

"Administrative and selling expenses increased in the second quarter of 2013 compared to the second quarter of 2012, due to increased business development activity in the European market and fully consolidating Versa Power Systems."

Die Erschließung eines neuen Marktes kostet nunmal Geld und mit Versa ist die Betrachtungsgrundlage eine andere als 2012.

Das bringt das Unternehmen zwar im betrachteten Quartal nicht näher an den Break Even ist mir aber immer noch lieber als ein Unternehmen, dass Marktchancen verpennt. Die Brennstoffzelle wird nur dann kommerziell erfolgreich, wenn sie in großen Stückzahlen verkauft wird und dazu muss das vorhandene Marktpotenzial ausgeschöpft werden.

Das ist eine kreative Bilanz für 6 Monate wo 0.11 $ Verlust / Aktie ausgewiesen wurde. Die Zahlen sind gestiegen und die Verluste sind gleich geblieben.

Ein Versuchsbetrieb der immer noch in der Abhängigkeit von grösseren betrieben steht. Und weiter stehen wird.

Die Auftragsgeber finanzieren diese Firma und diese Auftragsgeber sollten diese Firma einfach kaufen.
