At last check, MUX shares were trading 8.18% higher at $4.63, with volume up from daily average of 1.92 million to 2.93 million. The stock touched a 52-week high of $4.65 in today’s trading.

Year-to-date, MUX shares have gained more than 34%, outperforming the S&P 500. The stock has a 52-week high of $6.30.

Markus Bußler von Anlegermagazin "DER AKTIONÄR" hält dies nach dem rasanten Anstieg des Goldpreises in den vergangenen Jahren aber für ganz normal und notwendig. Nun scheint sich das Bild aber wieder zu wenden. "Ich denke schon, dass der Goldpreis irgendwo seine Konsolidierungsphase beendet hat, jetzt wieder ein erstes Lebenszeichen sendet und seine Aufwärtsbewegung fortsetzen wird", so Markus Bußler.

Die US-Notenbank kommt den Erwartungen der Wall Street entgegen: Im Kampf gegen die Stagnation am Arbeitsmarkt und die anhaltende Wirtschaftsschwäche weitet die Fed nicht nur die Niedrigzinsphase aus, sondern setzt auch auf ein umfangreiches Wertpapier-Kaufprogramm. Der Dow steigt ins Plus, Gold zieht steil an.

Die US-Notenbank Federal Reserve (Fed) setzt im Kampf um mehr Arbeitsplätze und ein Ende der zähen Konjunkturerholung in den Vereinigten Staaten auf dauerhafte Niedrigzinsen und eine weitere milliardenschwere Geldspritze.

Das teilte die Federal Reserve nach einer an den Finanzmärkten seit Wochen mit Spannung erwarteten Sitzung ihres Offenmarktausschusses in Washington mit.

Den ersten Angaben zufolge wollen die Notenbanker unter anderem pro Monat für 40 Mrd. Dollar Immobilienpapiere (Hypothekenanleihen, Mortgage Backed Securities, MBS) kaufen, um den schwächelnden Häusermarkt zu stärken. Umgerechnet entspricht das einem monatlichen Engagement von rund 31 Mrd. Euro - und das zeitlich bis auf weiteres unbegrenzt.

Die Hoffnungen der Märkte auf weitere geldpolitische Maßnahmen seitens der US-Notenbank wurden damit erfüllt. Mit dem zeitlich unbefristeten Ankauf von Hypothekenanleihen habe die Fed wie erhofft "Quantitative Easing 3" (QE3) ausgerufen, hieß es.

Den bei faktisch null Prozent liegenden Leitzins wollen die Währungshüter bis mindestens 2015 beibehalten, und damit ein Jahr länger als bislang in Aussicht gestellt. Außerdem soll die "Operation Twist" fortgesetzt werden. Im Rahmen dieses Programms werden langlaufende Papiere gekauft und im Gegenzug kurzlaufende Titel verkauft.

Fed-Chef Ben Bernanke wird die Gründe für den Beschluss ab 20.15 Uhr (MESZ) vor der Presse erläutern.

Diese Loblieder auf Rob McEwen kennen wir doch jetzt schon zu genüge, oder sehe ich das nicht richtig.

Seit er Nevada Pacific und andere kleinere Explorer, die auch schon in geringen Mengen Gold gefördert haben, übernommen hat ist bisher nichts großartiges in seinen Visionen geschehen.

Das Ding läuft doch nun schon über ca. 4 oder 5 Jahre und was ist mit dem Kurs geschehen, soweit ich das sehen und beurteilen kann, nichts.

Hoffentlich geht er nach seinem großartigen Erfolg bei Goldcorp nicht mit seinem neuenUnternehmen McEwen Ming baden. Das wäre für mich nicht sehr gut, habe ich mich doch zu verschiedenen, für meine Begriffe recht günstgen Kursen, einen recht offensiven Depotanteil, an diesem Unternehmen geschaffen.

Sollte es noch bis 2015 dauern das wir andere Kurse sehen, wird das noch eine recht lange und magere Zeit für alle Kleinaktionäre werden.

Aber vielleicht kommt er ja doch noch in die Puschen und wird bald mit der Edelmetallförderung entweder in Nevada oder aber auch in Mexico beginnen ?

Jedenfalls soll die Hoffnung ja zuletzt sterben. Zumindest seheich das so.

Also Rob gib Gas und fang endlich an auch mal den Kurs zu treiben.

Another colorful character in such a big business is hard to find. Billionaire and philanthropist, nationalist and economic libertarian hating your government's restrictions on businesses. And a great admirer of gold. This is the Canadian Rob McEwen, the head of McEwen Mining Inc. company. - One of the world's two largest mining companies yellow metal.

Rob McEwen: Gold wird auf 5.000 Dollar steigen
Während seiner Rede beim Denver Gold Forum riet Rob McEwen jüngst zum Kauf von Gold und prophezeite einen Anstieg des Goldpreises auf 5.000 Dollar.

"Machen Sie sich das klar! Gold ist Geld." So begann McEwen laut Mineweb seinen gestrigen Vortrag. Er sprach eine deutliche Empfehlung für die Aufnahme des Edelmetalls in das Portfolio aus und begründete diese mit dem Verlust der Kaufkraft der wichtigsten Währungen. McEwen zufolge hat der US-Dollar über die vergangenen elf Jahre gegenüber Gold 85% seiner Kaufkraft verloren, das gleiche gilt für den Südafrikanischen Rand. Mit einem Kaufkraftverlust von 68% gegenüber Gold schnitt der Australische Dollar noch am besten ab. Diese drastische Entwicklung wird sich nach Auffassung des Experten auch künftig fortsetzen.

Weiterhin sieht McEwen eine Aufwertung der Aktien von Goldunternehmen kommen und rät jetzt zu deren Kauf.

McEwen ist Gründer und ehemaliger CEO des großen Goldproduzenten Goldcorp Inc. und leitet aktuell das Unternehmen McEwen Mining Inc.
