      Tesla temporarily freezes store closures and layoffs in chaotic sales strategy change
      https://electrek.co/2019/03/08/tesla-freezes-store-closure-l…

      =>
      ...Sources familiar with the matter told Electrek that Tesla has now closed the first 29 stores in the US and Canada.

      An unconfirmed number of employees estimated in the few hundreds have been laid off with severance.

      Tesla sales management held a call with regional management earlier today and they told retail employees that Tesla was freezing any change from the transition until the end of the month.

      Some stores that didn’t close were told to stop booking test drives last week. They were told today that it’s back to business as usual for them, but retail employees don’t have access to commission and bonuses – resulting in much lower compensation.

      According to sources, some retail managers have presented this freeze of the transition as an “opportunity to prove themselves.”

      That said, sources told Electrek that many employees are walking away due to the significant pay cut. Some employees told Electrek that they are suspecting Tesla is extending the transition period and cutting their salary in order to push them out so they don’t have to pay severance.

      When asked about the situation, Tesla declined to comment and referred back to a blog post about the move to online sales in which Musk wrote that it will take “months” for Tesla to transfer most of its sales online.

      In an announcement to employees, Musk also said that the review of the retail and marketing department would take a few weeks...

      ...Tesla employees say morale has fallen drastically as stores close and workers are let go

      ...
      Not only are workers invested morally in Tesla's mission — some have moved thousands of miles to work for Tesla — but financially, too. Large fractions of many employees' pay is in the form of restricted stock units, which are shares given to workers on a pre-determined vesting schedule. The ultimate value of shares is dependent on where the company's stock is trading on the date of maturation.

      Look, Just Quit Tweeting, OK? Investors Sue Tesla and Musk Again

      =>
      ...Enough with the tweets already.

      That’s the message a group of institutional investors in Tesla Inc. is sending the electric-car maker and Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk in broadening its claim against him Thursday, saying his “repeated misstatements” continue to harm the company and its shareholders.

      Their new lawsuit, filed in Delaware Chancery Court, seeks to permanently block Musk’s “unchecked use of Twitter to make inaccurate statements about the company,” lawyers for one of the investors, the Laborers’ District Council and Contractors’ Pension Fund of Ohio, said in a statement.

      After tweeting last year that he had secured funding for a plan to take the company private, Musk allegedly stepped over the line again in February by estimating on Twitter that Tesla would produce about half a million vehicles this year. The suit complains that Musk and Tesla directors have breached their duties to investors.

      Tesla didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment on the suit...

      Tesla encouraged its employees to buy cars using their paid vacation days

      • Tesla offered employees many discounts on buying cars last year, including the ability to cash in PTO and free Autopilot software, two current employees and a source close to the matter told Business Insider.

      • The company also used in-store sales staff to deliver cars in its aggressive end-of-quarter run last year, employees said.

      • As Tesla closes its retail stores, salespeople are unhappy with a lack of communication from the automaker as it pertains to their jobs.

      ...
      Many employees were excited by the discounts, which were also offered to SpaceX employees.

      Tesla (TSLA) VP of Engineering Dr. Michael Schwekutsch Resigns
      ..und hier ist auch der Grund dafür:

      March 7, 2019 4:40 PM EST
      Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) VP of Engineering, Dr. Michael Schwekutsch, resigns, according to a LinkedIn post.

      From Dr. Schwekutsch:

      "After almost 3.5 years, yesterday I have decided to leave Tesla. I had an incredible time with a team that is by far the most talented that I ever worked with. Tesla’s products are hands down the most efficient and exciting eVs in the world. And I’ve enjoyed working at a company with such a great passion, with such incredible customers and with a mission that is so “electrifying.” All the best, Tesla! Now for me it is time to try something new. I did not decide yet what’s next but I am eager to explore and find out."
