Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 74.467.305 von Oginvest am 12.09.23 11:48:11Sept 12 (Reuters) - Several airlines and aerospace suppliers warned of a hit from U.S. firm RTX's disclosure of a rare manufacturing flaw that could ground hundreds of Airbus (AIR.PA) jets in the coming years.
...
The latest GTF problem relates to a rare powder metal defect that could lead to the cracking of some engine components and comes on top of a spate of durability issues that the engines are facing.
It also adds to the troubles of the airline industry, which has been grappling with shortages of staff and new planes, while piling pressure on suppliers who were just beginning to see an easing of supply chain woes.
Aerospace suppliers who have a stake in the troubled engine program also outlined their share of costs.
London-listed Melrose Industries (MRON.L) said it faces a potential cash impact of around 200 million pounds ($249.20 million).

GKN Aerospace owner Melrose flags potential $250 mln cash impact amid Pratt & Whitney inspection
Sept 12 (Reuters) - Aerospace supplier Melrose Industries (MRON.L) said on Tuesday it faces a potential cash impact of around 200 million pounds ($250.32 million) over the period to 2026 after Pratt & Whitney parent RTX Corp (RTX.N) warned of grounding of some engine variants for quality checks.RTX's warning on Monday of a one-time grounding any time in coming years comes after the company in July said a rare powder metal defect could lead to the cracking of some engine components.
RTX now estimates it would have to pull a total of 600 to 700 engines off its Airbus A320neo jets for lengthy quality inspections between 2023 and 2026.
Melrose said its GKN Aerospace unit has a 4% programme share on the engine variant impacted by the issue, adding that the full potential cash impact was on the basis of the assumption that this was all a programme cost.
The London-listed Melrose said there was no change to its profit and balance sheet guidance, and that the share buyback programme announced last week would proceed as planned.

News von Dowlais (GKN Automotive), das Spin-off ergibt wohl Sinn:
GKN Automotive owner Dowlais retains 2023 outlook after strong first half
GKN Automotive owner Dowlais retains 2023 outlook after strong first half
Zitat von Oginvest: Sept 12 (Reuters) - GKN Automotive owner Dowlais Group (DWL.L) on Tuesday maintained its 2023 outlook and said its first-half performance was ahead of its expectations on the back of robust margins and the rapid transition to electric vehicles.
The car parts supplier, reporting its first set of results after it was spun-off from Melrose Industries (MRON.L) in April, said its adjusted operating profit rose about 39% to 177 million pounds ($221.41 million) for the six-month period ended June 30.
"We have also secured record new business bookings, the majority of which are related to EVs, at attractive margins," CEO Liam Butterworth said in a statement.
GKN Automotive, which makes the lion's share of the group revenue, supplies drive system technologies to the likes of Ford (F.N), General Motors (GM.N), Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE), Geely (0175.HK) and Toyota (7203.T).

Ein möglicher Grund für die (heutige) Schwäche:
MTU-Kurs sackt ab - Belastungen wegen Triebwerksproblemen
...

GKN Aerospace owner Melrose's CEO to step down
(Reuters) -British aerospace supplier Melrose's CEO and co-founder Simon Peckham will step down in March after more than 20 years and be replaced by Chief Operating Officer Peter Dilnot, it said on Thursday, paving way for new leadership as it changes course. The owner of GKN Aerospace, publishing its first set of results after completing the spin-off of Dowlais Group in April, also announced a 500 million pound ($625 million) share buyback and lifted its full-year profit expectations on higher than expected margins at its engines division.
...
Melrose's adjusted pretax profit from continuing operations was 134 million pounds for the six months to June 30, compared with 9 million pounds a year earlier.
The company, which makes airframe and engine structures and counts Airbus and Boeing as its top customers, now expects full-year adjusted operating profit between 375 million pounds and 385 million pounds, up about 8% from a forecast in May.

Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 74.447.478 von Oginvest am 07.09.23 17:11:35Melrose Industries PLC (“Melrose”, the “Company” or the “Group”), an Aerospace Engines and Structures Group, today announces its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023 (“the Period”).
...
CHAIRMAN’S STATEMENT
I am pleased to report a strong set of interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023 (the “Period”), which have underpinned the confidence in making an upgrade to the full year results. Furthermore, as we have evolved into being a long-term aerospace group in line with previous announcements, we are providing details and timing about the intended executive management changes scheduled for the first half of next year to take this exciting new strategy forward.
...
STRATEGY AND PURPOSE
Since being founded in 2003, Melrose has created significant shareholder value through its ‘Buy,Improve, Sell’ strategy. Following completion of the Demerger, Melrose has now changed strategy to being purely an aerospace business, and thus will now report publicly as two divisions: Engines and Structures. The Board has already confirmed that it will not seek to undertake another acquisition of an unrelated industrial business or, in the near term, a material aerospace business.
For the next few months the focus is to complete the current restructuring plans. These are well underway and are expected to be largely complete by the time of the 2023 preliminary full year results announcement in March next year. As part of this strategy, Aerospace is continuing to invest heavily in sustainable technology as it pursues its mission to be a highly trusted and sustainable aerospace partner in the sky.
OUTLOOK
The Board is confident of achieving its upgraded full year expectations. In Engines, our RRSP portfolio looks towards continued market growth and an upcoming lucrative aftermarket phase. Operational efficiencies and the benefit of ongoing restructuring means that we expect full year 2023 to show an excellent improvement in performance, with the Aerospace business positioned for further profitable success over the coming years.
