Kinofilmproduktionen können ein lukratives Geschäft sein - wenn man weiß, wie
man sie macht. Die Manager unserer heutigen Vorstellung Motion Picture Group
(WKN: A0JEFL) wissen dies sehr gut, und Anleger können von den hohen Chancen
profitieren, die sich hieraus ergeben.

Filme machen kann jeder - in der Theorie. Aber Kinofilme zu drehen, die auch an
der Kasse ein Erfolg sind, ist eine Kunst für sich. Das fängt an bei der Story,
das Drehbuch muss stimmen, man muss den richtigen Regisseur auswählen, die
Schauspieler müssen passen und miteinander harmonieren. Bei erfolgreichen
Kinofilmen läuft nichts ohne die Männer im Hintergrund, die Produzenten sind
das Salz in der Suppe, sie sind die Geldgeber und Organisatoren. Ohne einen
guten Produzenten wird der beste Film kein Erfolg, denn der Produzent hält das
Geld zusammen, gibt es aus und vor allem muss er es besorgen.

Die großen Studios konzentrieren sich dabei vor allem auf die Blockbuster, sie
produzieren für den Massengeschmack. Das wahre Leben wird in den meisten
Blockbustern nicht gezeigt. Dafür sorgen meist andere Filmunternehmen. Die
kleinen Studios, die unabhängigen Produzenten sind in diesen Genres daheim. Zu
den ganz neuen Produzenten im Filmgeschäft gehört die amerikanische Motion
Picture Group. Das "neu" bezieht sich jedoch nur auf das Alter des
Unternehmens, die Männer dahinter sind alte Hasen in der Branche.

Erst im Februar entstand nach einem Merger die Motion Picture Group. Der nächste
Schritt war die Ernennung eines neuen Vorstands. Die neuen, starken Männer auf
der Kommandobrücke sind Henri Kessler, Pliny Porter und Scott Franklin, in der
Branche beileibe keine unbekannten Namen. Diese drei renommierten Filmexperten
haben sich nun ein gemeinsames Ziel gesetzt: Sie wollen aus der Motion Picture
Group eine erfolgreiche Produktionsgesellschaft machen. Ziel ist es,
kommerziell erfolgreiche Filme für den nationalen und internationalen Markt zu
drehen. Erfahrung haben die Manager genug, unter ihrer Führung sind rund 25
erfolgreiche Kinofilme mit einem Umsatz von mehr als 1 Mrd. Dollar entstanden.
Für die nahe Zukunft haben sie feste Ziele. Sie wollen 15 Kinofilme machen, die
jeweils ein Budget von 1 Mio. Dollar bis 15 Mio. Dollar haben.

Die drei Gründer kennen alle Kniffe und Tricks für eine erfolgreiche
Filmproduktion. Und die wollen sie auch einsetzen. Vor allem was
Steuerangelegenheiten und die Filmförderung angeht, wollen Kessler, Porter und
Franklin eigene Wege gehen. Bei aller Unterstützung und Co-Finanzierung wollen
die Filmemacher eines aber sicherstellen: Sie wollen die Mehrheit an den
Filmrechten behalten. Man will eine schlagkräftige Filmbibliothek aufbauen und
mit den weltweiten Verleihrechten noch zusätzlich Geld verdienen. Aus diesem
Grunde muss das Copyright in den Händen des Unternehmens bleiben.

Motion Picture Group will also seine Unabhängigkeit bewahren und sich nicht an
eines der großen Studios binden. Bisweilen sucht man aber die Hilfe einer
großen Verleihfirma. Dies geschieht aber auf einer Fall-zu-Fall Basis, so dass
man für jeden Film die optimalen Bedingungen rausholt. Die Verwaltungs- und
Entwicklungskosten will die Motion Picture Group aber auf jeden Fall aus
eigenen Mitteln begleichen, um die Unabhängigkeit zu bewahren. So will man
einen Weg finden zwischen der Zusammenarbeit mit den Großen der Branche und dem
eigenen (auch finanziellen) Erfolg.

Momentan sind rund 4,97 Mio. Aktien der Motion Picture Group auf dem Markt, etwa
20 Prozent sind im Freefloat. Dies entspricht aktuell einer Marktbewertung von
gerade einmal 6,2 Mio. Dollar. Um Filme erfolgreich zu produzieren und damit zu
finanzieren, kann das Unternehmen jedoch weitere Aktien auf den Markt bringen.
Bis zu 100 Mio. Aktien sind genehmigt. Damit steht in Zukunft genügend Geld für
erfolgreiche Filmprojekte zur Verfügung!

Die erste Filmproduktion der Motion Picture Group ist bereits erfolgreich
angelaufen. Seit kurzem steht auch fest, welches einer der nächsten großen
Filme der Kalifornier werden soll. Er trägt den sehr deutschen Namen
"Autobahn". Folgerichtig wird er als oktanhaltiger Actionthriller
angekündigt, der vor dem Hintergrund der Alpen spielen soll. Schon in diesem
Frühjahr hat mit "I trust you to kill me" ein anderer Film der Motion
Picture Group Premiere feiern können, in dem Kiefer Sutherland eine Hauptrolle
spielt. Uraufgeführt wurde das Rockdrama auf dem Filmfestival in Nashville.
Dabei gefiel er Kritikern und Publikum so gut, dass er gleich in zwei
Kategorien nominiert wurde.

Seit kurzem wird die Aktie der Motion Picture Group auch an der Frankfurter
Börse Frankfurt gehandelt. Für Anleger bieten sich derzeit ideale
Einstiegskurse. Man hat nicht oft die Gelegenheit, bei einer Firma, die auf

Such subsidies allow the Company to significantly mitigate the financial risk of each picture because these government funds are “nonrecoupable”. In other cases, when a project is U.S. based, the company intends to make use of any city, state and federal tax credits (for example the 2004 US Tax code 181). The Company intends to retain the majority of the equity in its slate of films in order to build significant ownership in a film library. The company will, according to its financing model, retain copyrights and international distribution rights wherever possible.

With regard to distribution and print and advertising, TMPG envisions a first look/co-financing arrangement with a leading international sales organization. Domestic distribution will be arranged on a case-by-case basis to assure the best possible distributor for each project. Unlike many first look and vanity deals, the Company will finance its own overhead and development costs. This strategy will allow the Company to retain the majority of the equity in its projects, while still benefiting from the studios’ unparalleled sales, distribution and marketing infrastructure.

Deftly mixing alternating tracks of playful rowdiness, thoughtful introspection, ferociously slamming rock and not-so-quiet desperation, helmer Manu Boyer scores impressively with "I Trust You to Kill Me," arguably the best rockumentary since "Some Kind of Monster." Surprisingly compelling pic accompanies Kiefer Sutherland on tour as road manager for Rocco DeLuca & the Burden, up-and-comers signed to the actor's Ironworks Music indie label. But even though Sutherland figures prominently, and confides revealingly, doc's theatrical and homevid prospects may rely more heavily on whether DeLuca and his group can achieve breakout chart and concert-hall success.

Frequent performance sequences showcase the dynamic DeLuca -- wailing Robert Plant-style vocals to sliding Dobro guitar riffs -- as a soulfully intense talent who fuses jazz, rock, blues and folk elements to potent impact. Off-stage, however, the sad-eyed singer-songwriter comes off as far more reserved, if not downright melancholy, as he candidly discusses his ambivalence about the music industry, and recalls an unhappy childhood spent neglected by distant parents.

Without ever pushing too hard, helmer Boyer pointedly suggests that Sutherland's own mixed feelings about his famous father, Donald Sutherland, may have led him to view DeLuca as something of a kindred spirit. Sutherland virtually admits as much during interview sequences shot in moody black-and-white.

Pic is appreciably livelier when it is more colorful, literally as well as figuratively, while detailing the difficulties faced by any unknown band -- even one backed by a widely recognized film and TV star -- during its first international tour.

"I Trust You to Kill Me" (the name of group's first CD) is consistently amusing, and occasionally hilarious, as it follows DeLuca and bandmates Ryan Carman (drums), Dave Beste (bass) and Greg Velasquez (percussion) through a series of demanding gigs in small clubs scattered throughout London, Dublin, Reykjavic and Berlin. A highlight is their performance of "Soul," the best tune on their debut CD, which nearly blasts the paint off the stage in a Berlin basement club.

At every stop, Sutherland exploits his celebrity as star of worldwide TV phenom "24" to grant timely interviews that will enable him to plug the band. And whenever that proves inadequate, he's not ashamed to simply patrol the streets outside a club and give away tickets to amazed passers-by who can't believe they're seeing who they're seeing.

Sutherland's avid support for the band borders on the obsessive -- at one point, he gets an elaborate tattoo to express his zeal; in fact, his willingness to risk look ridiculous on camera emerges as his most engaging trait during the pic.

Cynics might be tempted to dismiss "I Trust You to Kill Me" as a feature-length promotional tool. But pic can be enjoyed, and respected, by auds who care little for DeLuca's music. At its frequent best, the artfully crafted doc earns respect as an insightful and arresting behind-the-scenes look at what any band must endure to make that first lunge at the brass ring.

attending the CineVegas Film Festival held June 9-17 in Las Vegas in
an effort to identify and potentially help develop emerging
filmmakers. The Company is putting together a 15-film slate that will
balance larger commercial films with edgy independent films.

Film Festival has emerged as a festival with great talent in

The Motion Picture Group's award winning management team has
produced several films that received many film festival awards
including "SLAM", produced by Kessler, which was awarded the 1998
Cannes Camera D' Or and Sundance Grand Jury Prize as well as receiving
the Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut performances. "SLAM" also
won the Audience Choice Award at the St. Louis International Film
Festival. Scott Franklin was a co-producer on the independent film
"Requiem For A Dream" starring Ellen Burstyn, Jennifer Connelly, Jared
Leto, and Marlon Wayans. The film premiered at the 2001 Cannes Film
Festival to rave reviews and received numerous awards at various
festivals and academies around the globe, eventually earning Burstyn

The Motion Picture Group: Mit ambitionierten Filmen zum Erfolg
Die Börse kennt momentan nur eine Richtung und zwar nach unten. Aktien zu finden, die diesem Trend entgegensteuern, ist ähnlich schwierig, wie die Suche nach der sprichwörtlichen Nadel im Heuhaufen. Aber es gibt sie! Eines der Papiere, die dem allgemeinen Trend widerstehen, ist die Aktie der Motion Picture Group (WKN: A0JEFL).

Das Papier hat in den letzten Wochen eine beeindruckende Performance hingelegt und bis zu 35 Prozent plus gemacht. Zuletzt gab es einen leichten Rückschlag, der aber auf Gewinnmitnahmen zurückzuführen ist. Von der Story und den Aussichten her, ist der Wert nach wie vor bemerkenswert gut.

Alles fing im Februar an. Damals wurde die AFMN, Inc., die sich erst kurz vorher mit der Medical Media Television zusammengetan hatte, in Motion Picture Group umbenannt. Gleichzeitig wurde der Vorstand komplett ausgewechselt. Die neuen Männer in den Führungspositionen waren erfahrene Macher aus der Filmbranche.

Henri Kessler ist im Filmbusiness äußerst erfahren. Seine Karriere begann als Schauspieler, aber schon bald wechselte er das Fach und wurde PR-Berater. Es folgte eine kurze Periode als Restaurantbesitzer, ehe er Angestellter einer Venture Capital Gesellschaft wurde. Nächste Station war dann seine eigene Produktionsgesellschaft, bevor er zur Motion Picture Group stieß. Seine Filme sind mehrfach preisgekrönt, er gewann unter anderem den Großen Preis der Jury auf dem Sundance Festival sowie die Goldene Palme in Cannes (Frankreich). Sein Film „Le gout des autres“ wurde sogar als bester ausländischer Film für den Oscar nominiert.

Vorstandsvorsitzender Pliny Porter war zuerst für MGM/Odeon tätig. Er schrieb Drehbücher und führte bei Kurzfilmen und Musikvideos Regie. Dann ging es zu Twentieth Century Fox, wo er Julia Roberts traf. Mit ihr gründete er Shoelace Productions, die Blockbuster wie „Erin Brockovich“ und „My best friends wedding“ herstellte. Er wechselte dann zu den Revolution Studios, bevor er freier Autor und Produzent wurde. Porter hat mit vielen Größen Hollywoods zusammengearbeitet. John Cleese, Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding Jr, Andy Garcia oder Anjelica Huston gehören dazu. Auch die Regisseure Jerry Zucker, Steven Soderbergh und Joel Schumacher haben mit ihm Filme gemacht.

Das dritte Vorstandsmitglied der Motion Picture Group ist Scott Franklin. Er hat beim Sundance Festival den Preis für die beste Regie erhalten. Ellen Burstyn wurde für ihre Rolle in seinem Film „Requiem for a Dream“ als beste Schauspielerin für den Oscar nominiert. Neben der Filmproduktion ist Franklin noch auf einem anderen Gebiet sehr aktiv: Er gehört zu den besten Produzenten von Musikvideos in den USA.

Die Motion Picture Group will wirtschaftlich erfolgreiche Filme drehen. Man ist breit aufgestellt, das Augenmerk liegt sowohl auf dem amerikanischen Markt als auch auf der internationalen Schiene. 15 Kinofilme sind in einer ersten Produktionsphase geplant, die jeweils ein Budget von 1 Mio. Dollar bis 15 Mio. Dollar haben.

Obwohl das Unternehmen noch jung ist, gibt es schon sehr konkrete Pläne und erste Erfolge. Ein Film wurde bereits realisiert. Dabei handelt es sich um den Dokumentarfilm „I trust you to kill me“. Die Hauptrolle spielt dabei der berühmte US-Schauspieler Kiefer Sutherland. Inhaltlich dreht sich das Werk um die Band von Sutherland. Die Kamera begleitet die Gruppe auf ihrer ersten internationalen Tournee ist, die von Japan über die USA und Großbritannien nach Irland, Island und Deutschland führt. Seine Premiere erlebte „I trust you to kill me“ auf dem Filmfestival in Nashville. Kritiker und Publikum waren davon so begeistert, dass der Film in zwei Award-Kategorien nominiert wurde. Lob gab es von Variety, einem der bekanntesten Szenemagazine der USA. Die Redaktion bezeichnete den Film als die beste Rockdokumentation seit langem. In Europa wurde „I trust you to kill me“ im Mai von Sky 1 ausgestrahlt. Auch hier waren die Publikumsreaktionen positiv, wie Henri Kessler, Vorstandsmitglied der Motion Picture Group, im Gespräch mit unserer Redaktion sagte. Momentan laufen nach seiner Aussage die Verhandlungen mit weiteren Verleihern, um den Film noch besser zu vermarkten.

Aus seinem nächsten großen Projekt macht Kessler kein großes Geheimnis. Im Gespräch erzählt er, dass der nächste Film seines Unternehmens „Autobahn“ heißen soll. Gedreht wird er noch im laufenden Jahr in Europa. Vorstandschef Porter ergänzt, dass die Alpen die Kulisse abgeben werden, für Amerikaner eine noch immer ganz besondere Szenerie. Das Casting sowie die Zusammensetzung der Crew befinden sich in der entscheidenden Endphase, man liegt also gut im Zeitplan. Von dem Film erhoffen sich die Manager einen großen wirtschaftlichen Erfolg, so dass das Unternehmen finanziell danach auf sehr gesunden Beinen stehen kann.

Auch für die Zeit danach rüstet man sich bei den Filmemachern. Auf dem gerade stattfindenden CineVegas Film Festival knüpft man neue Kontakte. Hier sucht man nach jungen, guten und ambitionierten Filmemachern, mit denen man in Zukunft zusammenarbeiten möchte. Das Augenmerk liegt dabei aber nicht nur auf den größeren, kommerziellen Filmen, die Motion Picture Group sucht auch neue Macher für kleinere Independent-Produktionen. Scott Franklin betont, dass man eine gute Mischung aus beidem sucht, erfahrenen Regisseuren und talentierten Jungfilmern. Dafür stellt man eine Liste von 15 Filmprojekten zusammen, die man dann auf eine erfolgreiche Produktion hin überprüft. So will man an die Erfolge anknüpfen, die sowohl Henri Kessler als auch Scott Franklin beim Sundance Festival, dem wichtigsten Festival für unabhängige Filmemacher, erzielt haben.

Seit wenigen Wochen ist die Motion Picture Group an der Börse in Frankfurt gelistet. Zwischenzeitlich konnte das Papier hier um bis zu 36 Prozent zulegen. Vorstandsmitglied Henri Kessler zeigt sich daher sehr begeistert von dem Erfolg an der Frankfurter Börse. Er hofft, dass das Dual Listing sein Unternehmen weiter voranbringen wird. Momentan sind rund 23 Mio. Papiere auf dem Markt. Es besteht allerdings die Möglichkeit, durch Kapitalerhöhungen diese Zahl auf 100 Mio. Aktien zu erhöhen. So kann sich die Produktionsfirma bei Bedarf problemlos mit frischem Kapital versorgen. Dies ist besonders dann wichtig, wenn die Motion Picture Group neue Filme produzieren will und entsprechendes Kapital benötigt.

Wichtig für den Anleger ist noch eines: Die Motion Picture Group will ihre Unabhängigkeit auf jeden Fall bewahren und sich nicht zu stark mit den großen Filmstudios in Hollywood einlassen. Nur so ist man in der Lage, die Filme zu machen, die man machen will. Und nur so kann man die Gewinne aus den Filmprojekten in die eigene Kasse bekommen. Daher wollen die Männer um Henri Kessler immer die Mehrheit an den Filmrechten behalten. Es soll auch eine hochwertige Filmbibliothek aufgebaut werden, denn mit den weltweiten Verleihrechten kann man ebenfalls gute Gewinne erzielen. Das Copyright für alle Filme soll daher immer beim Unternehmen bleiben.

Dem interessierten Anleger zeigt dies eines: Die Vorstandsmitglieder wissen, was sie wollen und was sie machen. Erste Schritte für erfolgreiche Filme sind erfolgt, weitere Kursreaktionen werden nicht lange auf sich warten lassen.

also die Geschichte hört sich im großen und ganzen ja nicht schlecht an, jedoch halte ich einen einstieg für verfrüht.
Denn die heißen Sommermonate sind Gift für Kinos und ihre Filme.
Wenn sie da einen Film auf den Markt werfen und er nicht die breite MAsse anspricht, wird dieser Floppen.
Ein Film mit Sutherland ist zwar klasse aber eine Doku wird nicht den durschnitts Filmegucker ansprechen.
Mal abwarten was die noch so produzieren werden.
Wichtig ist halt nur, dass sie Filme für das breite Spektrum produzieren und wenn ich das sehe werde ich nach dem Sommer einsteigen

Wichtige Entscheidungen gefallen!

Gleich zwei wichtige Entscheidungen hat die Motion Picture Group (WKN: A0JEFL) für ihr Film-Großprojekt "Autobahn" unter Dach und Fach gebracht. Die Wichtigste sicherlich: Mit dem Produzenten-Veteranen Lou Stroller hat man sich über Hilfe beim Pre-Production-Budgeting und bei der Erstellung des Zeitplans geeinigt. Mit seiner umfassenden Erfahrung wird Stroller, entstanden unter anderem aus Filmen wie Lara Croft, The Rock oder The Cradle of Life, dem Unternehmen sehr gute Dienste leisten können.

Stroller spielte auch eine Rolle bei den Drehorten für das oktanhaltige Filmspektakel, dessen Entstehung hautnah bei vielen deutschen Anlegern vonstatten gehen wird. Neben Rumänien hat sich das Management der Motion Picture Group entschieden, in der rheinischen Medienmetropole Köln zu drehen. Man habe zwei Gruppen in Köln ausfindig gemacht, die über diverse Autobahnkilometer für den privaten Gebrauch verfügen. Damit habe man die Flexibilität, um aus Autobahn einen der rasantesten Actionfilme zu machen.

Nach dem steilen Anstieg, den die MPRG-Aktie seit Februar bzw. Mitte April hingelegt hatte, waren die letzten Tage durch eine wohlverdiente Konsolidierung geprägt. Charttechnisch haben die Korrekturen keine größeren Spuren hiterlassen, denn die Aufwärtsbewegung ist per Saldo intakt. Im Bereich zwischen 1,10 und 1,20 Dollar befindet sich eine glasklar Unterstützungszone. Der letzte derartige Rückschlag war für Anleger eine Nachkaufchance. Angesichts der sehr guten Aussichten der Filmcompany ist auch diesmal zu erwarten, dass der Zug wieder die Fahrt nach oben aufnimmt, sobald die Konsolidierung abgeschlossen ist. Das ermäßigte Niveau daher zum Nachkauf nutzen.

autobahnen sind soweit ich weiß verdammt teuer. sogar so teuer, dass gewisse abschnitte nicht dem jeweiligen land sondern gruppen privater interessengruppen gehören. und die können damit anscheinend machen, was sie wollen. sicherlich mit den nötigen vereinbarungen.

dass der film breites interesse finden kann, ist durchaus möglich. wäre ja nicht das erste mal, daß eine "kleine" produktion voll einschlägt.

logistisch scheint das mit stroller ja recht gut abgedeckt. zumindest waren die filme tomb raider und the rock meines wissens ein erfolg

The Motion Picture Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets:MPRG), a
production finance and services company, announced today that it has
identified the first phase of a financing commitment of $7 million
toward a $29 million credit facility needed to finance feature films
and begin the packaging of its slate of 15 films over the next 5
years. Negotiations are ongoing.
Co-President Henri Kessler stated: "We have been focused on
identifying this commitment since the creation of the Company back in
February. The equity financing group we are working with has a true
understanding of our financing model and the entertainment industry as
a whole. They believe that our approach to film making is very sound
and view this investment as a great opportunity."
From the launch of the business, the Company has taken an
aggressive view toward financing, has secured trading positions of its
Common Stock on the Pink Sheets and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, has
secured a listing on Standard & Poor's Market Access Program, and is
continuing to negotiate the large credit facility needed to finance
its planned feature films. The Company produced its first feature
film, "I Trust You to Kill Me" with Kiefer Sutherland and Rocco Deluca

attend the 46th Monte-Carlo Television Festival to be held June 27 to
July 1, 2006, where the Company's first feature film "I Trust You to
Kill Me," a rockumentary starring Kiefer Sutherland will be screened.
Pliny Porter, the Company's CEO and the film's producer, who will
be attending the festival stated: "It is an honor to have been chosen
for screening at this festival. This will be our first international
theatrical screening and will be a good opportunity to present this
