Permis de construire 6 MW solaire en Guyane Française

VOLTALIA a obtenu le permis de construire une centrale photovoltaïque au sol d’une
puissance installée de 6 MW. Située au lieu-dit Carrefour d’Organabo, sur la commune
de Mana, cette installation délivrera au réseau public d’électricité environ 8 millions
de KWh par an, soit l’équivalent de la consommation annuelle de plus de 6 000
habitants. Elle permettra également d’éviter le rejet dans l’atmosphère d’environ
6 800 tonnes de CO2 par an.

Ce parc photovoltaïque est le 1er parc solaire « autorisé » en Guyane Française. Sa
construction débutera dans les prochaines semaines et sa mise en service devrait
intervenir avant fin 2009.

Une expertise multi-énergie, renforcé par un solide partenaire financier

Après le lancement de la construction de la centrale hydraulique de Mana (4,5 MW) et
l’achèvement de la centrale biomasse de Kourou (1,9 MW), cette nouvelle opération
solaire confirme l’expertise multi-énergie de VOLTALIA. La société poursuit ainsi avec
la Caisse des dépôts, entrée récemment au capital de VOLTALIA Guyane, un
développement très dynamique sur ce territoire.

Filialisation du portefeuille solaire de 221 MW
en France et en Grèce







Fort d’un portefeuille solaire atteignant 221 MW sur un total de 1 912 MW actuellement en
développement, VOLTALIA va mettre en place une filialisation de son activité énergie
solaire en France et en Grèce dont les projets en développement portent respectivement
sur 87 MW et 134 MW.


Cette organisation des activités en filiale permettra à VOLTALIA d’accueillir des
partenaires industriels et financiers (par filière d’énergie), à l’instar du partenariat
récemment noué entre la Caisse des Dépôts et VOLTALIA Guyane.


La stratégie multi-énergies mise en œuvre par VOLTALIA depuis l’origine offre ainsi, grâce
à une organisation par pays et par filière métier, une flexibilité de ses modalités de
financement en fonds propres et dettes, permettant de s’adapter à l’évolution du
contexte économique.

La Caisse des Dépôts entre au capital
de la société VOLTALIA GUYANE


Le Groupe VOLTALIA SA et la Caisse des Dépôts s’associent pour le développement de projets de
production d’électricité à base d’énergies renouvelables en Guyane. La Caisse des Dépôts investit
3,1 M€ pour entrer à hauteur de 20% au capital de la société VOLTALIA Guyane. Cet apport sera
réévalué en 2009, 2010 et 2011 en fonction du développement des projets dans les filières
biomasse, photovoltaïque et hydraulique, au-delà d’une puissance cumulée de 20,1 MW.

Au travers de ce partenariat, le groupe VOLTALIA assure le co-financement de ses projets et
conforte son objectif de devenir le premier producteur autonome d’électricité à base d’énergies
renouvelables en Guyane, par la complémentarité de ses savoir-faire de développeur et de
producteur.

En entrant au capital de VOLTALIA Guyane, la Caisse des Dépôts entend contribuer à la réalisation
de projets locaux de production d’énergie, conformément aux objectifs des pouvoirs publics de
développement de capacités de production non émettrices de gaz à effet de serre, enjeu essentiel
pour ce territoire ultra-marin.

VOLTALIA Guyane disposera à fin 2008 d’une centrale biomasse (1,7 MW) couplée à une première
unité solaire en toiture (0,2 MW). Le chantier d’une usine hydroélectrique de 4,5 MW sur la MANA a
été ouvert pour une mise en production fin 2009 et un parc solaire de 6 MW doit être mis en
chantier dans les prochaines semaines.

A ces premières installations s’ajoutent une dizaine de projets pour une capacité supplémentaire
de 30 MW environ, portant l’objectif des deux partenaires à une quarantaine de MW installés d’ici
cinq ans. L’ensemble du programme portera sur un montant total d’investissement devant
atteindre 180 M€ pour une production annuelle cumulée d’environ 130 Gwh.

Solar energy in France:
A new 104 MW project


VOLTALIA has signed the land access to 340 hectares over 40 years with the municipality of
La Barben (Bouches du Rhône département - 13330) located in the south of France,
thereby adding to the 71 MW already under development in metropolitan France.

This project, representing an installed capacity of 104 MW, will be made up of 472,000
panels that will generate 147 million KWh of renewable energy each year, which will meet
the electricity need of the 140,000 residents of the 17 municipalities of Provence
agiopolis.

The energy produced by this solar farm, in line with the national objectives set during the
Grenelle Environmental process, will avoid the emission of about 17,600 tons of
greenhouse gasses each year.

VOLTALIA will implement this project in lots of 10 MW, allowing investments by minority
financial partners that will facilitate the structuring of the financing.

Construction of this power farm is scheduled to begin during the summer of 2010 and
production is expected to start by the end of 2011.

With this new solar farm of 104 MW, VOLTALIA's solar-energy projects in metropolitan
France aggregate 175 MW and its whole solar-energy plan is developing 335 MW in
three geographies (metropolitan France, Greece and French Guyana).


VOLTALIA's full IFRS results pursuant to the accounts closed on 31 December 2008
will be released on 25 May 2009 after the closing of the markets.

Voltalia has strengthened the performance of its multi-energy portfolio based on wind,
biomass, small hydraulics and solar power in its four zones of activity, i.e., France,
French Guyana, Greece and Brazil.
The share of secured-production of the pipeline thus increased from 56 MW at the end of
2007 to 119 MW at the end of 2008, thanks to an efficient implementation by Voltalia's
teams. It was increased, in particular, thanks to the start of production of significant
new projects such as the two wind farms of Saint Félix du Lauragais (10 MW + 8 MW), the
biomass factory in Kourou (1.7 MW) and an integrated solar roof (200 KW).
The secured production mix is therefore distributed as follows: wind (42 MW), solar (7.9
MW), biomass (51.2 MW) and hydraulic (17.8 MW).
The share growth of the portfolio under development, now at 1,126 MW, benefited from
the growth dynamic of wind (782 MW) and solar power (299 MW) in France as well as in
Greece and Brazil. This distribution confirms Voltalia's goal to be an effective player on
each of its markets.
In line with its strategy, the maturity of the development activity made it possible to
develop MW for its own account as well as the cession of projects in full and/or in part.
This step-up in activity was accompanied by first-rate transactions including the
signature in Brazil in October 2008 of the Altran-Voltalia partnership offering
environmental consulting services to Brazilian companies, as well as in November 2008
with the Caisse des Dépôts for the development of power plants based on renewable
energy in French Guiana. The Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations made an investment
representing 20% of Voltalia Guyane's share capital enabling the subsidiary to widen the
scope of its new projects development, especially in the isolated areas of the French
Amazon.
At the heart of this dynamic growth, Voltalia teams have been reinforced by new
experts in renewable energy thus increasing the total number of employees to over 55.
• First Positive and healthy results
In line with its development plan, Voltalia posted its first positive results for the 2008
financial year.
The €7.9m in turnover includes the sale of electricity, which represented €1.2m, and the
income from development activities, which represented €6.6m.
Following the group's improved results, the personnel expenses increased to €1.9m,
whereas the other operating expenses were controlled at €3.8m.

Therefore, the current operating income increased sharply at +€1.2m compared with
-€2.9m in 2007.

Net income, thanks to the contribution of the activities sold and low financial expenses,
was of €2.3m compared with a loss of €1.4m in 2007.

The group's financial structure remained strong.
Voltalia has €33m in shareholders' equity and a net debt of €13.2m.
The group had €12.2m in net available cash at closing for its development plan.
• Future prospects confirmed
From the start, the economic model implemented by Voltalia offered, thanks to its
organization by country and by energy, financial flexibility in respect to debt and equity
thus giving means to adapt to changes in the economic environment. The solid progress
of its development plan allows Voltalia to sell partial or full MWs that are either
authorized or in production.
Capital investments in projects, energy lines or subsidiaries, like wise the transaction
made in November with the Caisse des dépôts in French Guiana, spawn the group's
ability to grow and solidify its prospects.
2009 will witness the implementation of projects started to date.

Voltalia is now becoming a mature player, thanks to the means it continues to
implement and the success of its first projects, and confirms its activity's capacity for
dynamic growth.
To date, VOLTALIA has 27.4 MW in production.
Thus, in France, the two wind farms (10+8 MW) that became operational in 2008 have
been producing since 2 January 2009 at the feed-in tariff.
In Guiana, the Kourou biomass factory covered with a 1 600m2 solar roof was completed
and is in its trial period. Voltalia has also started construction on a 4.5 MW hydraulic
plant on the Mana site which production is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2010.
In addition, the group increased the pipeline of its solar projects in France to 175 MW
with a new agreement with La Barben municipality for the development of a site
allowing an installed capacity of 104 MW.
All of these projects initiated by Voltalia, plus over 646 MW under study, enable the
company to pursue the sequential implementation of its pipeline representing 1 892 MW
as of May 2009.
Thus allowing the group to confirm its target of obtaining authorizations for over 700 MW
by 2014.
Voltalia's General Shareholders' Meeting shall be held on 30 June 2009 at 2:30 p.m.
at the company's registered office.

Was ist von dieser Firma insgesamt zu halten?
So langsam scheinen die ja in Bewegung zu kommen (u.a. in Südamerika). Aber sie nehmen auch den Mund immer ziemlich voll. Können die ihre Pläne tatsächlich umsetzen oder droht ihnen eher das Schicksal von Firmen wie Theolia oder Plambeck?
Ich bin wirklich nicht sicher. Aber neugierig, das zu diskutieren.

Alleine können sie das angekündigte PV-Projekt wohl nicht stemmen. Selbst bei den 10 MW der ersten Stufe bin ich mir da gar nicht so sicher.

Und dann weiss ich nicht, ob die Relationen überhaupt zusammenpassen. Vielleicht habe ich etwas falsches im Kopf, aber ich meine für Freiflächenanlagen bei anderen Projekten etwas in der Größenordnung von 20 MW auf 100 ha gesehen zu haben - damit hätten auf deren Fläche dann nur 60% der genannten Leistung Platz.
Aber bitte korrigier(t) mich, wenn ich mit diesen Relationen jetzt falsch liege.

Mir scheint die "Perspektive" auch extrem ehrgeizig zu sein und ganz sicher nicht mit den aktuell vorhandenen Bordmitteln finanzierbar.

Was mich reizt, ist die -vermutete- starke Stellung in der Projektentwicklung und da insbesondere in Frankreich inkl. der Übersee-Gebiete. Da könnte bei den aktuell sinkenden PReisen enorme Musik drin sein.

Ob sie das MAul zu voll nehmen, kann ich bisher nicht beurteilen, weil ich mir die Meldungen dafür nicht gründlich genug angesehen habe. Nehme deine Anmerkung mal als Warnung und werde versuchen, drauf zu achten.


Was ist Dein "Beuteschema"?
Finde Deine Postings immer bei etwas unerwarteten Solarwerten, aber eigentlich nie im Mainstream. Wonach suchst Du Dir die Firmen aus?

Ob die stark in der Projektentwicklung sind, weiss ich nicht. Ich meine in einem der Geschäftsberichte etwas über relativ viele Kooperationen mit etablierten Projektentwicklern in Frankreich gelesen zu haben (für den Windbereich Valorem). Hätte deswegen gedacht, dass sie da wenig eigenes technisches Know-How haben.

Ich hatte neulich mal beruflich mit einer Aussage zu der Firma zu tun; das war jetzt rein zufällig, dass ich mich damit befasst habe.
