A MUST READ FOR GOLD BUGS!!!!

Bush war has heart of gold
Central banks all over the world have supposedly conspired to maintain furiously high, Enron-type derivative short positions against gold to keep it in an artificial bear market for, oh, say, the last couple of decades.

Independent sources say the problem is the value of gold reserves in nearly all the world?s central banks is about even with the derivative shorts held by roughly the same banks, at $320 per ounce. So, theoretically, if a margin call were to come in today, central banks would have to pay out all gold in all their reserves worldwide.

According to a recent International Monetary Fund survey, commercial banks in 48 top nations reported holding risky derivative positions on 900 million troy ounces of gold. The actual worldwide gold production is just 50 million troy ounces. With each passing year, the real value of gold becomes increasingly more difficult to suppress artificially and so requires more funds in the derivative market. The game of keeping gold supply artificially high is alleged to serve central banks in keeping their inflated paper currencies artificially valuable, but the buck has to stop somewhere.

It doesn?t stop there. Insiders correctly point out there are only three economic means out of such a debacle: to print money, to default or to borrow. Traditionally, banks have chosen to sell debt and delay decisions in similar cases. But the debt market has dried up, along with the bank accounts of would-be investors.

For example, some say there is five times as much public and private debt in the United States as total dollars in the money supply, at $35 trillion and $7 trillion, respectively. Printing money to meet debts largely owed to the privately owned foreign banks that make up the U.S. Federal Reserve would be economic and political suicide, obviously, and so would be a default, but there is one long shot reportedly in the works: A highly collusive war that engineers a massive wealth transfer, much like Desert Storm but on a larger scale, might just save our economies.

Whoa, wait a minute. Aren?t we at war against terrorists? How did all this get started? The answer is that our world is a dynamic reality where multiple events flow together as streams to a giant river. Unbeknownst to our friends in the mass media, most of our world?s problems can?t be reduced to a single target or personality. Alas, complex issues don?t sell airtime.

Global currencies fluctuate against each other based on emotion and backed by psychology, not by assets as they once did. That is why the U.S. Federal Reserve puts psychology before economics every time. And so, the reasons the central banks would gain by keeping gold artificially low becomes more obvious from this perspective. As long as alternative investments to paper currencies are kept artificially unattractive, as in gold?s 22-year bear market, people will hold paper currency, keeping demand high and inflation at bay.

The clincher is this: The price of gold useful for industry is said to be valued at $350 by the market today, due to inflationary values that have not been figured into the price of gold for more than two decades. If that is true, and if central banks around the world are now losing their hedge against undervalued gold ? threatening their very existence ? then the price of gold will slingshot up and currencies all over the world will melt to 30-60 percent of their current values.

Could we really be at the beginning of a gold boom and concurrent currency meltdown? Can a controlled conflict save us from a certain collapse? Is the possibility of a controlled conflict in the Middle East even possible? And what sensational attack against which political personality will take place when the mass media resume their blame game? These and other questions are being answered by events playing out right now.

I started accumulating gold stocks earlier this week. The bottoming process is being
COMPLETED. I`m a very heavy buyer on all large dips
in GFI, HGMCY, KGC...etc. We are going up
as all the weak hands are now flushed out. Although
I`m very confident I`m still being careful of margin
positions. Let the games begin because I have
plenty of positions now with the buying I did this week.
This was one hell of a correction. Time to move up
with seasonals moving out of our way going into fall.
Our big correction came early and the shares should start
moving up early going into fall. Thats the way I see it.
Good luck out there. Don`t wait to buy when prices are
      alot higher. JIMVHO

Looks like HGMCY, GFI will cross $20 on this next run.
      Can`t wait !!! IMHO

      I agree
Looks like the bottoming is very close to being over according to my charts too. Should be pretty much up moves for the next month or three, starting early next week. :-)

Newmont gets approval for piece of Kinross

WASHINGTON, Aug 19 (Reuters) - U.S. anti-trust authorities have approved Newmont Mining Corp.`s (NYSE:NEM - News) 14 percent stake in a new Canadian gold company, formed by a surprise merger in June.

An Aug. 12 document from the anti-trust authorities showed there were no anti-trust objections to Denver-based Newmont, one of the world`s biggest gold mining companies, taking a 14 percent interest in the new Kinross Gold Corp (Toronto:K.TO - News).

Newmont agreed in June to exchange its 45.3 percent stake in Echo Bay Mines Ltd. (Toronto:ECO.TO) for an interest in the new Kinross, formed by the merger of mid-tier gold miners Echo Bay, TVX Gold Inc. (Toronto:TVX.TO) and Kinross.

Shares of Newmont were down $1.75, or 6.5 percent, at $25.03 in late-afternoon trade in New York.

      KGC = Strong Buy!!!

      August 2002

GOLD PULLS BACK TO LONG-TERM SUPPORT. BULL MARKET INTACT.
IF NOT ALREADY ON BOARD, BUY NOW!

Gold has pulled back to long-term support at the $296 to $300 level, and if you haven`t already repurchased my favorite mining shares, don`t wait any longer! I believe both the mining shares and gold bullion are great buys right now.

The next upward phase in the emerging bull market for gold should begin soon, driving the price skyward, and along with it, my favorite mining shares. My target price for the next leg up is $375, but it could go even higher.

      Here`s why ...

      * Demand for gold is set to explode again. Although it`s already at record highs in many regions of the world, notably Japan, I expect to see demand rise further due to the long-term decline of stock prices around the world and the declining confidence in paper assets. This will magnify the ...

      * Ongoing severe shortage of physical gold. Many mining firms and hedge funds, still short of physical gold, continue to have difficulty finding enough bullion to deliver against their short positions. This could lead to a short-covering panic :), helping to drive gold prices higher.

      * Higher oil prices. While all eyes are glued on the stock market meltdown and sudden rallies, don`t ignore the skyrocketing price of oil. Oil is up nearly 28% since
      the first of the year!

"Embrace the New Bull" well maybe, but be careful not to get gored.

      COMMENTS FROM JIM SINCLAIR:

This is going to be the toughest call of this entire $300 - $330 sideways movement. The reason why is because, as we enter the $320 - $325 range, there is a knee-jerk reaction in the gold market. The gold market is so used to the arrival of JPM, Lehman, Goldman and Merrill as sellers pounding the market, that gold shares now almost automatically decelerate, as a knee-jerk reaction to gold being at the the $320 -$325 price. At this price, the gold shares` appreciation decelerates and actually stops dead in their tracks.

What the market has failed to realize is that these gold dealers, due to their own liquidity situations, are now no longer the big position takers in gold as they were before. All they have been doing lately is exercising clients` orders. The sellers of gold that have come into gold market at the $320 - $325 area have not been the gold cartel. They have been the local floor traders and speculator computer traders. Again, not the cartel. This is why we have had higher lows as we chop sideways.

I firmly believe the chances of taking out the $330 level to the upside before Christmas is real because the significant enemy of the gold price, the gold cartel, is out of business. They have had their trading capital called back to the parent holding company because of the effects of the credit downgrade on the parent holding companies. When the market wakes up that the enemy is no longer there, no event will be required to take gold above $330. It will simply go there.

Here is how we will determine if gold is going to break out above $330:

Have you wondered how I was able to determine the heads up and buy/sell points in this rally? Well, thanks to RGLD/GG and the use of proprietary measures in the duration period of the chart, the slow stochastic and Williams %R, I have when these leading (action-wise) gold shares entered an oversold condition, began to look for the buy and overbought for the sell. Now as gold approaches $330, if the gold shares (which historically know more about gold than gold does) are not into the overbought condition that have been so accurate, we will assume $330 is going to breach and NOT SELL our 1/3.

This means we are remaining disciplined, but being superbly focused. I will, as we near this situation, be doing daily technical reviews. I consider the market at this time more critically positive than ever before in this 11-month rally. The magnificently symmetric, three-year golden tea cup formation* would break to the upside out of the handle at a close above $330. This type of a formation, over this amount of time, is extremely rare and super bullish. I have in my 43 years never seen a technical formation of this kind for this long a duration with this type of symmetry. It is rare and important. This type of a formation will launch only one thing, a huge Bull market, if resolved to the upside. The probability of failure after gold breaks to the upside above $330 from this type of a formation is less than 10%. Those odds are outrageously good for the long.

We know the bull market in gold started 11 months ago, but history will record the breakout above the handle on the golden tea cup as "The Birth of the Gold Bull Market." This will occur because the amount of appreciation above the handle will be orders of magnitude compared to the 11-month appreciation we have already witnessed. Be assured that I am focused and will be keeping the Gold community as closely focused.

      Outlook
In 2002 the Fort Knox operation will focus on the following: the continued optimization of mining and ore haulage at True North; an increase in mill throughput by rejecting low-grade pebbles from the mill; and construction of a mill tailings thickener to increase recovery and reduce reagent costs. In addition, amendments to the True North mining permits are expected to be completed during the third quarter, thus allowing mining to progress into the Central and Sheppard areas of the deposit.

A total of 34.1 million tonnes of material is scheduled for removal from the Fort Knox open pit mine in 2002, and approximately 14.9 million tonnes of material from the True North open pit mine.

Mill throughput in 2002 is expected to increase to 14.8 million tonnes as a result of the mill pebble reject initiative, with 11.6 million tonnes coming from Fort Knox and 3.2 million tonnes from True North. Combined gold recovery is forecast at 85%. As a result, the operation is expected to produce approximately 440,000 ounces of gold in 2002. The average mill grade for 2002 is estimated to be 1.09 grams of gold per tonne, with Fort Knox ore averaging 0.84 grams of gold per tonne and True North ore averaging 1.99 grams per tonne.

The 2002 total cash costs are forecast at approximately $210 per ounce, higher than in 2001 because of a lower grade mining cycle at Fort Knox. The increase will be offset in part by higher mill throughput and the improvements in gold recovery and reagent costs that will result from the construction of the mill tailings thickener. The thickener will recycle mill solution, providing warmer water to increase leach kinetics and improve recovery. In addition, some residual reagents will be recycled resulting in lower cyanide detoxification and water recycle costs. Further economic improvements will continue to be pursued through the Continuous Improvement Program.

Capital spending is estimated at $16.0 million for 2002, and includes approximately $4.8 million for construction of the mill tailings thickener, $3.9 million for continued exploration and permitting at True North and Gil, $2.8 million for tailings impoundment expansion, $1.8 million for continued dewatering at Fort Knox, and $1.3 million for mine equipment additions.

      Tourism Initiative
Alaska’s rich gold mining history has long been a major attraction. In the Fairbanks area, one local attraction depicting historical gold mining methods reports over 55,000 visitors each summer season. The other, larger, gold mining attraction reports a record attendance of 120,000 one summer. However, there has been nothing available that demonstrates what modern gold mining is like and its significant contribution to the Alaskan economy.

As the largest operating gold mine in Alaska, Fort Knox has a unique opportunity to showcase the results of today’s gold mining. Consequently, after due consideration, Fort Knox is expanding and developing its mine tour program. The initiative is seen as a communications tool, helping the public to learn about today’s mining operations and reclamation processes. It will enhance the outreach programs already in place with local schools and youth organizations. Moreover, by charging for the improved tours, it provides an opportunity to generate revenue to pay for the program’s expenses.

On 2-3-03, KGC will start trading on NYSE; it will be world`s 7th largest gold producer with 65% of its production in N. America, highest among any major, senior producers. Its cost will be below $200/oz. It will produce 2 million oz of gold a year. It will have 314 million shares outstanding.

      1) KGC has the highest leverage to the price of gold of any North American producer. Each $ 25 increase in the price of gold will increase KGC cash flow by 30%. 2) If the price of gold averages $ 350 for the first 6 months of 2003, Kinross could pay off all their debt.

      Heads Up
      When Gold Closes Above $371.50
$400 Will Promptly Be Taken Out On The Upside
First Two Weeks of February Have Super Bullish Potential Implications

Well, you have done it. I hear from my broker friends and off the trading floor that many millions of gold share certificates have been ordered for delivery. It appears as if some of the big investors have had it with the disinformation that has been a tool of the bearish interest. Disinformation because it has been the short sellers and ratio spreaders who have caused the gold shares to under perform. Then the same traders called attention to that manufactured under-performance as proof that gold has had it at $372 due to technical non-confirmation by the gold shares of the gold move. Did you notice all the gold share downgrades done recently on gold shares by the major investment banks that are the owners of cartel by common interest gold banks. Lets see if the under-performance of gold shares case holds over the next few days. I doubt it. It looks to me as if gold and gold shares and silver changed their personality today. I hear there are some very uncomfortable shorts out there. Guess what their only defense is now since they have shorted well over the average daily trading volume of the listed gold shares. They are also shorted gold and silver juniors which I think is total lunacy. Their only defense is to buy gold to offset the short in the shares. When gold closes over $371.50, the shorts in gold shares will be screaming into gold for protection and if they can will be screaming out of their short of gold share and silver share positions.

Gold is headed over $400 now, IMO. I believe that I know exactly where it is going and will post the community individually on my web site registration for emails after thoroughly combing the list for ringers. I will not post the price on my web site. Each member that gets the post should inform those people they know but not post it on the web. I told you I am good but not that good. We are being watched by the opposition and the 1/3 sell point now after we held tight at $324.50 & $330 & $354.50 belongs to us. It is your property in my mind. I want it for you and I am going to everything I can to get it for you. Go to www.tanrange.com and register for the email list which now is my private email list since it is automated registry. There will be no company promotion coming to you. You have my word on that. Soon I will be up on www.JSMineset.com where you will get 24 hour commentary from me since so many of our community are in different parts of the planet. Those that are trading gold may want to have account that can trade gold 24 hours a day as I do. I want to be of service to you all. Your success is my reward. I want this for you more than I want it for me. We have waited 22 years for this. I can get all the sleep I need after gold is remonetized. During the last great gold market, I never slept more than 4 hours a night. I didn`t want to miss anything. This is my life and outside of this and my family, I neither have nor want anything else. I truly love markets and gold is my thing. I will soon post the advertisement for and press comment of the first Gold seminar that was sponsored by Harry Schultz when gold was at $68 per ounce under "War Stories"

I THINK "KGC" AND K.TO for NY and Toronto, rspectively.
Shareholders of both Echo Bay and TVX will become common shareholders of

Kinross based on the exchange ratios of 0.1733 and 2.1667, respectively. On

Monday, February 3, 2003 Kinross will begin trading on both the Toronto Stock

Exchange ("TSX") and the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE") reflecting the

three-for-one common share consolidation approved earlier by Kinross

shareholders. To profile its newly acquired senior status, Kinross will begin

trading on the NYSE and to mark the occasion, President and CEO, Robert (Bob)

Buchan, joined by members of Kinross management, will ring The Opening

Bell(TM) on February 3, 2003. Bob Buchan, stated: "Although the primary market

for Kinross common shares remains the TSX, the shifting of our U.S. listing to

the NYSE is expected to increase the profile of Kinross for American and

international investors. The American Stock Exchange has served Kinross and

our U.S.-based shareholders very well and will continue to be the marketplace

for the Echo Bay warrants that have now become exercisable into Kinross common

shares on the terms described in the Kinross` Management Information Circular

      and Supplement."

... ich auch nicht. Entweder hat`s damit zu tun:

"TORONTO -- Shareholders of Echo Bay Mines Ltd. (ECO) and TVX Gold Inc. and an Ontario court have approved the proposed merger of Kinross Gold Corp. (KGC), Echo Bay and TVX.

In a news release, Kinross said that, as a result of the completion today of the combination of Kinross, Echo Bay and TVX and the acquisition of the 49.9% interest in the TVX Newmont Americas joint venture from Newmont Mining Corp. ( NEM), Kinross has become the seventh largest primary gold producer in the world.

Kinross said it`s the only senior North American-based gold producer with both a strict nonhedging policy and less than 5% of reserves hedged.

Under the plan of arrangement between the three companies, shareholders of Echo Bay and TVX will become common shareholders of Kinross based on the exchange ratios of 0.1733 and 2.1667, respectively. On Monday, Kinross will begin trading on both the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange reflecting the one-for-three common share consolidation approved earlier by Kinross shareholders. After the consolidation, Kinross will have 314, 238,627 common shares outstanding.

As a result of its prior ownership of shares of Echo Bay and TVX, Newmont will become Kinross` largest shareholder, holding 43,238,427 common shares, or 13.8%.

      Reuters
Bema Gold sees Refugio mine decision in December
Wednesday November 26, 4:17 pm ET

VANCOUVER, British Columbia , Nov 26 (Reuters) - Bema Gold Corp. (Toronto:BGO.TO - News), co-owner of the Refugio gold mine with Kinross Gold Corp. (Toronto:K.TO - News), said on Wednesday it was confident the market would be told in December that the stalled operation in Chile would be put back into production.

Clive Johnson, Bema`s chairman and chief executive, said the open pit mine was expected to restart production late next year. Refugio is one of a number of idled mining operations being given a new lease of life by stronger metal prices.

" We are fully expecting to announce within the next month the decision to go back into production," Johnson told a conference in Toronto. His presentation was made via the Internet.

Johnson said he had had a meeting with Kinross, the world`s seventh biggest gold miner, in Toronto on Wednesday morning. Bema is a junior gold producer based in Vancouver.

New drilling at Refugio, put on care and maintenance 2-1/2 years ago when gold prices sank to near $250 an ounce, had found new resources able to double the mine`s life to between eight and 10 years, Johnson said.

The mine in northern Chile is expected to produce about 220,000 ounces of gold a year at an operating cash cost of $151 an ounce.

Kinross`s chief executive has also made enthusiastic statements about reopening Refugio.

Responding to market rumors of a possible takeover of Bema, whose Kupol gold project in Russia has attracted considerable market interest, Johnson said the growing junior was not for sale.

" We don`t want a joint venture partner. We don`t want a big brother and I don`t want to work for a major," he said.

Bema shares closed up 24 Canadian cents at C$5.35 on the Toronto Stock Exchange (News - Websites) . Kinross closed up 67 Canadian cents at C$11.58

      News Release

Bema and Kinross Plan to Recommence Gold Mining at Refugio

      December 4, 2003

Bema Gold Corporation (TSX, AMEX-BGO, AIM-BAU) (“Bema”) and Kinross Gold Corporation (TSX-K; NYSE-KGC) (" Kinross" ) are pleased to announce that their respective boards of directors have approved the recommencement of gold operations at the Refugio heap leach mine located near Copiapo, Chile.

Compania Minera Maricunga (“CMM”) owns the Refugio mine and is owned 50% by Bema and 50% by Kinross. The Refugio mine had been placed on care and maintenance in May 2001 due to low gold prices and has produced declining amounts of gold from residual leaching of existing heaps since that time. During the past year, a 56,000 metre drill program was successful in expanding reserves to justify a greater than 25% expansion of daily throughput compared to historic production levels. Initially the Verde pits are scheduled to produce 40,000 tonnes of ore per day which will be crushed and placed on the leach pads. Subsequently the new Pancho pit, expected to be mined at 35,000 tonnes of ore per day, will extend the mine-life to approximately 10 years at an assumed gold price $350 per ounce. Life-of-mine annual gold production is expected to range from 230,000 to 260,000 ounces on a 100% basis at total cash costs averaging approximately $225 per ounce.

Production is expected to recommence late in the fourth quarter of 2004. Initial capital costs on a 100% basis for the expanded project are estimated at approximately $71 million to repair and replace critical components of the existing infrastructure, increase reliability, improve serviceability and provide a safe and efficient work environment. In addition, a new mining fleet will be purchased and is anticipated to be financed through a capital lease of approximately $30 million. Major capital items include plant modifications and upgrades, a modest pre-stripping program and 110-kilometre power line, connected to the Chilean grid, which will replace the previous diesel generated power. Bema is currently evaluating various financing options including project debt and convertible debentures for its 50% of capital requirements.

The combination of improved gold prices and expanded reserves have resulted in robust economics for the expanded project. At the base case gold price of $350 per ounce, the proven and probable reserves (100% basis) are estimated at 124,054,000 tonnes at a grade of 0.86 grams of gold per tonne for 3,433,000 ounces of gold. The base case project economics indicate a pre-tax internal rate of return (“IRR”) of almost 22% and a payback of approximately 3.8 years. The sensitivity analysis of the project economics yields an IRR of approximately 34% and a payback of 2.6 years at the current gold price of $400 per ounce.

The Qualified Persons under National Mining Instrument 43-101 are W. Hanson, P.Geo and R. Cooper, P.Eng, both of Kinross. For further information on Bema please email investor@bemagold.com or visit our web site at www.bema.com.
