Proxim Enters Eastern European Market Via Winncom Technologies Distribution Agreement


SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jul 8, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Proxim
Corporation (Nasdaq: PROX), a global leader in wireless networking equipment for
Wi-Fi and wide area networks, today announced that it anticipates entering the
Eastern European wireless networking market via a newly signed distribution
agreement with Winncom Technologies Corp., a subsidiary of ARC Wireless
Solutions.

Under the agreement, Winncom will become a Wireless Wizard Distributor of Proxim
products in Russia and other Eastern European countries. The title of Proxim
Wireless Wizard Distributor reflects Winncom`s receipt of the highest
certification available through Proxim`s new channel partner program, indicating
that Winncom has demonstrated a high level of wireless networking competence
during program testing. The title also reflects Winncom`s achievement of an
advanced understanding of the variety of wireless networking solutions Proxim
provides, as the partner program training focuses on solutions for various
target market segments -- including, corporate enterprise, wireless ISP,
government, education and last mile solutions for both LAN and WAN.

Through Proxim`s newly expanded distribution relationship with Winncom, Eastern
European resellers and service providers will have a reliable source of
first-class, award-winning wireless products, which will help them to take
advantage of a developing WLAN and WWAN market in Eastern Europe. Sourcing
