PS: Kannst ruhig öfters posten, hier bekommt man doch immer Antworten.

Hallo soWhat,
Was hälst Du von PCCW (na klar...) China Online, Pacific Internet, Union Capital, Jumbomall und travelbyus?
Schöne Grüße

Guten Morgen amolinarie1,

Darstellung in Research-Report anbei).

Hi,
THX erstmal an SoWhat!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hallo,
IMAGIS AWARDED US$1.2 MILLION CONTRACT FROM ALAMEDA COUNTY SHERIFF`S OFFICE, CALIFORNIA

Vancouver, Canada, May 15, 2000; (OTCBB: IGSTF; FRANKFURT: IGY; CDNX: NAB): Mr. Iain Drummond, President & CEO, Imagis Technologies Inc. ("IMAGIS") is pleased to announce that IMAGIS, together with its business partner, ORION Scientific Systems, have been chosen to provide an integrated imaging-based law enforcement solution, by the Alameda County Sheriff`s Office, California, in a total contract award of US$2.65 million. "ORION has been working with law enforcement agencies like Alameda County for over a decade, helping them to find the right solutions that fit their specific requirements. By partnering with IMAGIS, we presented the best technical solution plus the experienced technical team necessary to be successful with this advanced project."
The Alameda project is planned to be installed this year and be fully operational during the 1st quarter of 2001.
"We are extremely pleased that our software technology has achieved such acknowledgement through this award, particularly as it`s in the technology rich Silicon Valley/Bay Area. It supports our Company`s continuing development of our technology solutions for the law enforcement, security and gaming industries. We are committed to continually developing solutions with our partners and have recently expanded our R&D department. We appointed more individuals to the IMAGIS research and development team with advanced expertise in Computer Science, specializing in vector graphics and three-dimensional geometry to the Biometric Active-X group as well as to the Product Alignment Group with specialties in recordset optimization and GUI design," reported Mr. Drummond.

Hallo aaahhh,

Press Release
INTACTA Demonstrates Biometric Security Capabilities
INTACTA.CODE Used in Access Control System
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2001--INTACTA Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:ITAC - news) announced today the successful integration of its INTACTA.CODE software with a biometric security application from Imagis Technologies Inc. When combined with contactless cards provided by Smart Card Technologies the three companies demonstrated a very secure and non-intrusive means of access control. The demo was featured at the CTST security show in Las Vegas, Nevada recently.
By combining facial recognition, contactless smartcards and secure encryption, the technologies provide a totally secure and totally passive solution. For example, as part of a secure facility entrance, a photo is taken as part of an employee`s security process and encoded using Imagis` ID-2000 facial recognition, and then stored using the INTACTA encryption methodology onto the specialized RFID SmartCard. When the employee subsequently walks into the building carrying the card anywhere on his person, he will pass by a reader at the entrance, which will read the ID from the SmartCard. This will trigger a video camera focused on the gate area to capture the facial image of the employee. The image will then be encoded in real-time and compared to the encoding of the individual stored in the database (or on the card). If it matches, the door will open. If not, the door will not open, and security personnel will be notified.
``Using INTACTA.CODE for biometric encoding adds yet another layer of security and functionality,`` said Noel Bambrough, CEO of INTACTA Technologies, Inc. ``Working with partners such as Imagis and Smart Card bring a total, integrated solution to security customers.``
About INTACTA.CODE
Originally developed for military use, INTACTA.CODE software uses 256-factoral encoding to secure virtually any data--from paper to mainframe. INTACTA.CODE not only secures information during transmission from backend systems to mobile computing devices such as PDAs or to PCs, but also continues to secure the information while it resides on any computing device. These security features solve the most vexing problems facing an enterprise considering the introduction or expanded use of mobile computing devices and applications, or for companies considering distribution of electronic information such as e-books or MP3 music files. In addition to its security features, INTACTA.CODE has robust error correction capability allowing it to transport and store data reliably in hostile environments.
The latest version of the INTACTA.CODE Enterprise Edition SDK supports C++, Java and Java Enterprise Beans, Visual Basic and WebSphere environments. A trial SDK for the Windows environment is available for developers at the INTACTA web site, www.intacta.com .
Applications Now Incorporating INTACTA.CODE
-- INTACTA.CODE Enterprise SDK is used by Intertek Testing
Services (ITS), the world`s largest import/export testing
service, to encode and transmit custom`s declaration
documentation simultaneously in electronic and printed
formats.
-- INTACTA has developed prototype microbrowsers for Palm and
Pocket PC OS devices, allowing completely secure, compressed
wireless transmission of data to hand held devices as well as
storage on these devices. These browsers now work seamlessly
with the INTACTA.CODE SDK.
-- INTACTA has developed an INTACTA.CODE transcoder for IBM`s
WebSphere Pervasive Computing platform, enabling an estimated
10 thousand developers to create applications that will
--safely and securely-- transmit strongly encrypted and highly
resilient data to handheld, wireless devices such as Palm
Pilots and WAP Phones.
-- In February Fujitsu, LTD of Japan launched an online ASP
service for the encoding/decoding of data using INTACTA.CODE
engines. The service is used by publishers, developers and
businesses seeking to transmit data securely over the Internet
or through email or fax.
-- INTACTA.CODE is used to create digital files from paper based
product registrations, streamlining the electronic
registration of products for companies such as
Hewlett-Packard.

Oh Jojack,
That´s it

Hi Itsch,
Imagis`s law enforcement products chosen by bioSecure
Tuesday Jul 31 2001 News Release
Mr. Iain Drummond reports
Imagis has signed a master distributor agreement with the biometric subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings (CKI) group of companies, one of the largest publicly listed companies in Hong Kong, of which the chairman is Li Ka-shing.
Under this agreement, CKI subsidiary bioSecure will promote, distribute and support Imagis`s line of law enforcement and biometric facial recognition products across Asia Pacific, both directly and through a number of subdistributors. These products, notably the CABS Computerized Arrest & Booking System and Imagis`s highly advanced ID-2000 facial recognition technology, are installed in numerous law enforcement agencies in the United States (particularly California), Canada (where it is the dominant such system in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police), Mexico and Europe.
The versatility and flexibility of ID-2000 allow software developers to easily incorporate the facial recognition technology into their applications, for uses such as physical access control, casino surveillance, identity verification system in checkpoints like airports, and even the facilitating of locating missing persons. As there is great demand for this type of technology for law enforcement agencies in Hong Kong and across the region, bioSecure intends to produce local language versions of the products.
H.L. Kam, group managing director of CKI, said: "CKI has always been actively developing infrastructure and infrastructure-related businesses, and has been looking for new grounds; electronic infrastructure is one of the new developments. To complement the rapid development of technology in the 21st century, the group has extended our business areas from traditional infrastructure to high-tech industries. Developing products and applications from biometric solutions fits in well with our strategy. The securing of this important partnership by bioSecure in a short span of time has given us testament that a right direction has been adopted."

Hallo zusammen,

Was läuft hier eigentlich ab?

Hallo Canadafreak,
schön mal wieder was von Dir zu hören
Mit UK steht in den anderen Threads. Behördenwege sind lange Wege
Hier hab ich noch was für Dich:
Face Scan Touches Down At Super Bowl
Amid Privacy Debate, Facial Recognition Systems Come of Age
Kevin Baxter
Controversy over a surveillance system at Super Bowl XXXV has focused the media spotlight on an infant technology that is poised to revolutionize video security. As some 100,000 people passed through the turnstiles of the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL, for the big game, Veltek cameras focused on the crowd of anonymous faces. Many of those faces were then digitized and compared against a database of about 1,700 suspect photos from FBI and state police files.
Though no arrests resulted from the surveillance, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has demanded that Tampa city officials hold public hearings to discuss what it is calling "unreasonable search and seizure." The Tampa Police Department refutes the claim, arguing that the courts have ruled there is no expectation of privacy in public areas. "It`s just another high-tech tool that is available," Tampa police spokesman Joe Durkin told the Los Angeles Times. "We used it for a week to test it, evaluate it, and see if we liked it. And yes, we did like it."
The system was installed by Graphco Technologies, Inc., a Newtown, PA, firm that offered the system to Tampa police as a free "test project." The facial recognition component, called FaceTrac, is powered with biometrics technology created by Viisage Technology, Inc. of Littleton, MA.
The Biometrics Connection
"This is absolutely cutting-edge," said Iain Drummond, president and CEO of biometrics developer Imagis Technologies, Inc., Vancouver, BC. "It`s only fairly recently that facial recognition has been of an acceptable [accuracy]."
Indeed, facial recognition technology is quite new to forensics. Only a handful of companies are selling software specifically designed for law enforcement and security applications. The early market leaders include Viisage, Imagis, Jersey City, NJ-based Visionics Corp, and ImageWare Systems, Inc. of San Diego, CA. In general, these and other facial recognition developers are active in the science of biometrics, which also encompasses speaker verification, finger scan, signature verification, hand geometry, and eye scan.
Although the competing facial recognition (or "facial scan") systems vary in method, they share certain commonalties. The programs make comparisons based on facial characteristics that are relatively immutable, namely bone structure. Similarly, the systems ignore characteristics that can be altered, such as facial expressions and hair.
Positive ID
While the Super Bowl system did not turn up any of the FBI`s Most Wanted, facial recognition technology has a number of successes under its biometrics belt. This fall, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police of North Vancouver successfully identified - and convicted - several criminals using Imagis software.
In one instance, the software helped local forensic scientists identify an offender who was in their database under three aliases. In a department that maintains the records of more than 8,000 offenders, that discovery would have been next to impossible without such a sophisticated search engine.
"If you`ve got a composite drawing in New York, for example, you`ll be running that against hundreds of thousands of criminal records," said Drummond. "You`d never be able to narrow it down [without a facial recognition system]."
Visionic`s system, for example, starts from the premise that there are up to 80 landmarks on a human face. From there, the software`s engine locates 14 points that are alike to compute a match. The algorithm allows a single face to be compared to thousands of others in a photo database or on videotape.
Recognition techniques can include identification (one-to-many searching), verification (one-to-one matching), monitoring (following a person in a field-of-view), compositing (automatically merging different views into a single, complex 3-D image), and surveillance (matching a known face against a watch list).
On the commercial side, facial recognition technologies are making huge strides, especially in the areas of transactional, employee, and traveler identification. But law enforcement presents a unique challenge to these systems for a simple reason: Most criminals do not want to be identified. Disguises, bad lighting, and distance limit the effectiveness of such systems.
For example, offered Drummond, the technology in its current state of development cannot handle an image taken at an angle over 30 degrees from full frontal. But he added that the biometrics industry has made giant leaps in facial recognition in the past year. Dr. Joseph Atrick, CEO of Visionics, described the technology in an interview that aired Feb. 2 on NBC`s Today.
"Your face, with all its beauty and all its charm, ultimately can be reduced to a mathematical equation that`s unique to you," Atrick told Today. "As long as we can see the tip of ... one eye, and the other eye is full, we can handle the recognition."
Market Acceptance
The software is beginning to appear in law enforcement agencies throughout the United States and Canada. Kent County, MI, Los Angeles County, Hennepin County, MN, and agencies in Arizona and Texas have integrated Visionic`s FaceIt system into their mug shot imaging networks.
Los Angeles County and Illinois have installed FaceEXPLORER, a product developed by Viisage. Besides the Mounted Police of North Vancouver, 32 police departments in Alameda County, CA, have turned Imagis` ID-2000 into the "largest digital system on the West Coast," boasted Drummond. Law enforcement agencies in Nevada County, CA, Florida, and Connecticut are installing the Imagis system as well.
Drummond said the technology is ready for widespread use by the law enforcement community. "It`s very, very easy to use because almost all of the process is automatic," he said.
The early success and promising technology of facial recognition has earned the attention of the Department of Justice. The department`s technology research and evaluation arm has retained the International Biometric Group to perform an in-depth evaluation of facial recognition technology in the law enforcement market.
The study is examining one system in particular, a 3-D program known as Integrated Law Enforcement Face-Identification System (ILEFIS). The technology was developed through National Institute of Justice funding by the Office of Law Enforcement Technology Commercialization.

PS: Schau mal in die andern Thread rein
Hallo Sowhat,
habs gelesen, danke..
