Aus dem Annual Report 2006 (veröffentlicht vergangenen Donnerstag) hier ein interessantes Statement von Tim Bushell:

"Since joining FOGL in January of this year
      I have become increasingly enthusiastic
about our chances of success as the
team continues to evaluate the latest
      seismic data.
There are a number of very attractive
features to FOGL’s assets. The licences
cover one of only a few large unexplored
‘passive margin’ basins that remain in
the world and there exists very strong
evidence for a working oil and gas
system. The work we have carried out
to date has given evidence of mature
oil prone source rocks, quality reservoir
rocks and multiple trap types. To give just
one example: the 2D seismic survey has
shown evidence of a number of oil and
gas chimneys. At the same time, satellite
images have indicated oil slicks on the
surface at roughly the same locations.
We plan to investigate this further by
taking some seabed cores in these
areas. Within our licences there are
      multiple hydrocarbon plays and we
have mapped over 100 prospects and
leads with at least ten each having the
potential to hold more than one billion
barrels. The combined potential of this
inventory is more than 60 billion barrels
of oil and gas reserves on an un-risked
      basis
. Just one discovery of a moderate
      size would transform FOGL.
      There are technical challenges in
      the form of environmental conditions
and remoteness, but these are all
      surmountable. Water depths above
      the identified prospects range from
      500 – 1500 metres and modern offshore
rigs are quite capable of drilling in these
depths. The weather is no worse than
the West of Shetlands or the Norwegian
North Sea, and the use of current
      technology, such as floating production
      vessels would be applicable under
      these conditions.
      Following a thorough technical review
and as a result of having considerably
more prospects and leads to evaluate
      than previously thought we have
      decided to significantly modify our
forward work programme. This will now
      comprise a combination of controlled
      source electromagnetic seabed logging
(CSEM) and infill 2D seismic to identify
and guide us to the most favourable
prospects for drilling. The use of CSEM
      technology in this environment is
      particularly appropriate and exciting,
as it has the potential to indicate which
of our many prospects and leads may
      contain hydrocarbons. Our strategy will
be to acquire CSEM data over many
of the larger prospects and leads.
Based on the results from this survey
infill 2D seismic will then be acquired on
the most prospective targets in order to
determine the best sites for exploration
wells. We expect to commence both
the CSEM and 2D seismic surveys before
      the end of 2006.
This revised work programme has been
      accepted by the Mineral Resources
      Committee, but requires formal
      ratification by the Falkland Islands
      Government. The amended licence
      conditions, if approved by the
Government, will also entail a 6 month
extension to the current phase of the
      2002 licences and a relinquishment
of 58 blocks within the 2002 licence area.
These blocks are considered by FOGL
to be un-prospective and all significant
leads and prospects, which we have
      identified, have been retained within
      the remaining 2002 licence area.
With this new programme in mind we are
      now planning to commence exploratory
drilling in 2008. To this end we are looking
at a number of ways to secure a drilling
rig. This could include a farminee that has
access to a rig, talking to rig owners with
a view to them participating directly in
the project or sharing a rig with the other
Falkland oil companies. We have in fact
      already begun preliminary discussions
with the other oil and gas companies
operating in the Falkland Islands with
a view to forming a consortium to share
a rig. Such a consortium would have
many benefits for FOGL. A larger number
of wells in the drilling programme is more
likely to attract the interest of a drilling
      contractor and significant savings
would be achieved by the sharing
of the mobilisation and logistics costs.
      Discussions will continue with regard
to all rig options in order that FOGL can
be in a position to commence drilling
      in 2008.
All the indications are that oil and gas
are present in the area covered by our
licences and that the prospects and
leads are big enough to hold significant
      volumes, which we are determined
      to ascertain with our forthcoming
      work programme.

Gerüchteweise steht ein anderer Falkland Explorer (Desire Petr.) vor einem Farm Out Agreement mit 'Woodside Petroleum' (Austr. Oil& Gas Company, bringt 17 Mrd.

Fingers crossed for activities in the Falkland area :)

      Headline Electro - Magnetic Survey
      Released 07:00 25-Jul-06
      Number 6581G

      Falkland Oil and Gas Limited

      (“FOGL” or “the Company”)

Falkland Oil and Gas to conduct electromagnetic survey

Falkland Oil and Gas Limited (“FOGL”) has signed a Letter of intent with Offshore Hydrocarbon Mapping plc (“OHM”) to undertake a Controlled Source Electro-Magnetic survey (“CSEM”) over the company’s licences in the South and East Falkland Basins.

The use of CSEM technology in this environment is particularly appropriate and exciting. CSEM is a method which investigates the electromagnetic properties of rocks and has a recognisable response when oil and gas is present. CSEM is an extremely cost effective method of high grading an extensive inventory of exploration prospects and leads. CSEM imaging works best under certain conditions, including deepwater (>500metres), simple sand & shale geological sequences, and large traps (prospects), all of which are prevalent within FOGL’s South & East Falkland Basins. This programme has the potential to indicate which of our numerous prospects may contain hydrocarbons. Our strategy will be to obtain CSEM data over many of the larger prospects and based on the results, infill 2D seismic will then be acquired in order to determine the best sites for exploration wells.

This is the first part of our revised forward exploration programme recently discussed with the Falkland Island Government. FOGL had already begun preparatory work which will enable rapid implementation of a CSEM survey, further demonstrating FOGL’s commitment to this exploration acreage.

We expect to commence both the CSEM and 2D seismic surveys before the end of 2006 and be in a position to announce the results early next year.

Tim Bushell, Chief Executive Officer commented:

“We are very excited by this new technology and its application in our licences. The use of CSEM imaging is an appropriate exploration tool given the large number of prospects and leads that we have identified. We believe that CSEM can help to significantly reduce risk, improve the chance of success and allow us to focus on the best prospects for drilling in 2008”.

      Note to Editors

Controlled Source Electro-Magnetic imaging (CSEM) is potentially the most important new technology in the field of offshore oil & gas exploration since the advent of 3D seismic some twenty years ago. CSEM is an innovative offshore geophysical technique, employing electromagnetic remote-sensing technology to detect the presence and extent of hydrocarbon accumulations below the seabed. The CSEM survey uses a dipole source that is towed just above the seafloor to transmit an electromagnetic field into the earth. This field is modified by the presence of subsurface resistive layers and these changes are detected and logged by an array of receivers placed on the seabed.

Because hydrocarbon-bearing formations are highly resistive compared with surrounding formations, a CSEM survey can indicate the presence of oil and gas in offshore situations. CSEM imaging can significantly reduce the risk of drilling dry exploration wells creating considerable value for oil & gas explorers.

The technique was first used offshore Angola in 2000 and has since become a key deepwater exploration tool for the major oil companies. Very high success rates have been quoted by these companies, particularly when the results of a CSEM survey have been integrated with seismic interpretation.

So, hab meine paar Stück heute wieder zu 1,60 gegeben.

Ist mir zu unsicher im Moement. Aktuelle Taxe London 105/110

Wenn die 100 fällt, kann man bei 90 höchstwahrscheinlich wieder die Hände aufhalten.

Wer hat im Anschluss noch bei 1,58 verkauft?

      Honey?
