Q Power erhält höhere Vorab-Zahlung über insgesamt 1,35 Mio. US-Dollar aus Korea

Die iQ POWER AG gibt die Erhöhung der am 10. Dezember 2004 gemeldeten Zahlung von 1,1 Mio. US-Dollar auf 1,35 Mio. US-Dollar bekannt. Bislang eingegangen sind hiervon 1,1 Mio. US-Dollar, davon 0,65 Mio. US-Dollar in 2004. Bei den zusätzlichen 250.000 US-Dollar handelt es sich um eine pauschale Lizenzgebühr, die durch einen erhöhten administrativen Aufwand begründet ist und noch in diesem Jahr fällig wird.

Die Zahlungen erfolgen auf Basis des im Dezember 2004 geschlossenen Lizenzvertrags zwischen der iQ Power Licensing AG, einer 100%igen Tochtergesellschaft der iQ POWER AG und der iQ Power Asia Inc. Unter diesem Lizenzvertrag zahlt die zwischenzeitlich gegründete iQ Power Asia Inc. zunächst eine Festvergütung von 1,35 Mio. US-Dollar. Diese Zahlung erfolgt zusätzlich zu den Lizenzgebühren, die vom künftigen Produktionsvolumen abhängig sind.

Dieser Lizenzvertrag ist Bestandteil einer Reihe von Verträgen mit dem koreanischen Konsortium. Die Verträge sehen unter anderem die Gründung eines Joint Ventures in Korea vor mit dem Ziel der Herstellung und Vermarktung von innovativen Produkten auf der Grundlage der von iQ Power entwickelten Technologie für den asiatischen Automot

in 10 Jahren kann ein Stückzahl-Anteil von 20 - 40 % der weltweit produzierten Autobatterien erreicht werden, zum größten Teil natürlich über Lizenzvergabe
dazu kommen ab den nächsten Jahren Batterien für Luft- und Schifffahrt u.a.

aber die Preisentwicklung lässt sich nicht abschätzen, somit können wir den zukünftigen Gewinn nicht errechnen

soviel steht imho fest: IQPower wird zum GlobalPlayer der Extraklasse

was sich diejenigen , die sich die Depots jetzt nicht bis zum Platzen vollstopfen, bereits in wenigen Monaten denken werden, sag ich lieber nicht, sonst heißt`s, ich würde pushen....

Foreign-exclusive Industrial Complexes were designated as a part of an intensified campaign to attract investment by foreign invested companies. The underlying concept is to provide low-cost plant sites to foreign-invested firms at inexpensive prices to advance the economic structure, promote high technology transfer and strengthen the competitiveness of domestic companies. The initiative is based on the view that industrial land prices in Korea are relatively higher than in competing countries and work as a barrier to investment attraction. In order to provide inexpensive plant sites, the central or local governments provide financial assistance by purchasing a certain portion of the land of an industrial complex under construction. Sites can then be sold or leased to locating foreign-invested firms at discounted rates.
The Korean government provides a range of incentives for tenant companies. Rental fees in the Foreign Exclusive Industrial Complexes are a mere 1% of market price of the lands, which can be even exempted for large scale investors with high-technology. In addition, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation(KICOX) provides all necessary administrative procedures ranging from investment notification, business registration, entry application, contract conclusion to factory registration for free.
To gain entry into a foreign-exclusive complex and access to the numerous benefits, a company must be at least 30-percent foreign owned (10% in case of Daebul and Pyeongdong) and, preferably, be in an industry based on a government-specified advanced technology.

South Korea has a total of six foreign-exclusive complexes: Gumi, Ochang, Daebul, Jinsa, Cheonan and Pyeongdong. Move-in into Cheonan and Pyeongdong complexes have been completed and Ochang, Jinsa, Gumi and Daebul are still availabe to any prospective tenant.

Opportunities through a Resurgent Kia

Infrastructure development in the region has been rapid. The four-lane Honam and Namhae Highways link the area to Seoul, Busan and Daegu. Local transportation conditions will be greatly enhanced when the close-by 353.4-kilometer long West Coast Highway is completed by the end of this year, since it will directly link the area with Incheon and Mokpo. Gwangju is situated on the Honam Railway that connects Daejeon and Mokpo. Through this latter terminal, Gwangju is connected by rail to the south coast port of Yeosu. Furthermore, the Honam Railway is scheduled to be double-tracked. Thus, access to Gwangyang Container Port, Mokpo, Incheon and Yeosu Ports will become easier. The flying time between Seoul and Gwangju is only 40 minutes. Muan International Airport, to be completed by the end of this year will soon complement Gwangju Airport. The area has also industrial water reserves of 880,000 tons, more than double the required 440,000 tons. Construction of a massive distribution center is under way at the Pungam area in Gwangju.

The improvements in local infrastructure have had a direct impact on Gwangju`s attractiveness to foreign companies. In fact, 70 percent of all foreign investment in the region was carried out since 1999 when work first began to upgrade local roads and rail links. In the first quarter of this year, three foreign-invested companies made new investments, reflecting improvements in the local investment condition.

Among the most promising areas of investment, Mr. Park cited Internet optical information and communication components, laser applications, optical materials, and optical resources. He also pointed to local success stories in automobile components, machinery and processed farm products. Boosting the investment prospects of companies in the optical industry is the offer of land at cheap prices and the supply of high quality human resources from the nearby Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology. Meanwhile, the staff at KOPTI is ready to lend assistance on technology development and commercialization to interested companies.

The various plants operated by a resurgent Kia Motor in the Gwangju area afford opportunity in the automobile parts and machinery industries since local auto parts suppliers are looking to attract foreign investment through joint ventures. The agri-businesses of nearby Jeonam and Jeonbuk provinces covering cultivation, storage, and processing are also a promising area for foreign participation.
