Fission Discovers Uranium Boulder Train With "Off-Scale" Radioactivity at Patterson Lake South Property
KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 27, 2011) - FISSION ENERGY CORP. (TSX VENTURE:FIS)(OTCQX:FSSIF) ("Fission" or "the Company"), and its 50% Joint Venture partner ESO Uranium Corp. announce that recent field work on their Patterson Lake South Property, located in the south-west margin of Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, has resulted in the discovery of a significant 4 km long radioactive boulder train. Of the fifty-four radioactive boulders and hotspots in soils identified to date, twenty-nine or 54% produced "off-scale" (greater than 9,999 counts per second (cps)) radioactive readings, as measured by hand held Exploranium GR-110G total count gamma-ray scintillometers. Assays are pending. The ongoing field program, which includes a radon survey, soil sampling, and boulder prospecting, currently in progress, will prioritize locating and tracing the source and extent of the boulders. Investigation of radioactive boulder trains has led to the discovery of many uranium deposits in the Athabasca Basin, including the nearby former producing Cluff Lake Mine (greater than 60 million lbs produced).

Observations noted by the Joint Venture team in the field include:

-- Radioactive boulders were located on the first day of the current field
program, as directed by results of an airborne radiometric survey
carried out by Special Projects Inc in October 2009 (see news release
      dated April 12, 2010).
-- The more highly mineralized boulders and hotspots included crumbled
grains of pitchblende/uraninite with associated yellow oxide minerals
and full sized boulders, over 45 cm (1.47 feet) in their largest exposed
      dimension, containing mineralization.
-- The highly mineralized boulders are soft, friable and easily broken down
to cover small fragments and are associated, predominantly, with
basement metasedimentary boulders and suggest a significant bed rock
source in an area of pre-Athabasca basement rocks, having the potential
to host high grade mineralization. While there is no certainty that any
in situ uranium deposits will be discovered on the property, boulder
mineralization appears to be analogous to the Cluff Lake and Millennium
      deposits.
-- The boulder train is located only 1.5 km west of the all weather
Provincial Highway 955, which runs north to the former producing Cluff
      Lake Mine.
-- Overall, the project is easily accessible, which will allow for cost-
efficient exploration for identifying new shallow targets.

Ross McElroy, Fission's President & COO, on behalf of the Patterson Lake South Joint Venture, commented, "The team is excited by the discovery of this significant boulder train so early in our field program. The number and size of anomalous samples, in addition to the pattern of dispersion, lead us to believe we may be close to the source, well within our claim block."

A map highlighting the summer 2011 exploration program at Patterson Lake South can be found on the Company's website at http://www.fission-energy.com/s/PattersonLakeSouth.asp.

      Patterson Lake South Property

The Patterson Lake South Property is a 50%/50% Joint Venture held with ESO Uranium Corp. (ESO). The project covers 13,233 ha (more than 30,000 acres) in 8 mineral claims on the southwest margin of the Athabasca Basin in the Broach Lake - Patterson Lake area. The Patterson Lake South Property is accessible by road with primary access from all weather Highway 955, which runs north to the former Cluff Lake mine, (greater than 60M lbs of U3O8 produced), and passes through the nearby UEX-Areva Shea Creek discoveries located 50km to the north, currently under active exploration and development. The project is jointly operated by Fission and ESO.

      .....

Another company that we would like to talk about is Fission Energy Corp. (TSX.V:FIS; OTCQX:FSSIF). We have a speculative buy on that one, with no target price. Fission Energy has an enviable mix of location, high-grade resource potential and opportunity. It is located in the prolific Athabasca Basin, which has a 35-year history of uranium production and excellent infrastructure. Fission's Waterbury Lake property is located adjacent to Hathor Exploration’s Roughrider deposit and AREVA/Denison Mines' Midwest project—a uranium camp that already hosts over 110 Mlbs. of U3O8. Being adjacent to Hathor is part of this company's selling point. While it does not have an NI 43-101 compliant resource at the Waterbury Lake project, drilling results there have produced some fantastic assays of over 1% uranium and some as high as 6%.

Waterbury Lake itself has five targets, all apparently highly prospective, along the Discovery Bay Corridor, which is an east–west string of pearls of mineralization that includes all five of Fission's prospects, as well as the adjacent Roughrider and Roughrider East on Hathor's property. It looks like investors in Fission also get a free option on some other Fission properties that are highly prospective as well.

Fission also has Dieter Lake in Quebec, with an NI 43-101 compliant resource of 24.4 Mlb., and a very prospective piece of property in Macusani, Peru, a uranium district that is heating up right now.

TER: You have no target price assigned to Fission yet, but a speculative buy would imply multiples at the current market price. Have you avoided assigning a target price because there's no NI 43-101 on it?

RC: Yes, that's the primary reason. We made an estimate, and in our research report, we note a valuation halfway that would give it around $0.90 if we used a base case assumption. Assuming they have 17 Mlb. of uranium, if we use some relative valuation metrics and add the other pieces of the company together, it comes to around $0.90. However, that estimate would be unfair because we don't know if 17 Mlb. is accurate. On top of that, that resource estimate would only be for J–Zone, one of the five targets within Waterbury Lake. Four other prospective areas could have mineralization that would add further value. In addition, an estimate wouldn't assign value to any of the other projects outside of Dieter Lake, which we did add to the number because it has an NI 43-101 resource estimate. There are multiple moving parts—too many assumptions—for us to settle on a number we think would be fair.

TER: So your growth hypothesis is based on the string of pearls extending from the Hathor mines projects?

RC: The five Fission properties look almost exactly in line with Hathor's Roughrider and Roughrider East; they are dots along that line. All five could potentially be something. The fifth, J-Zone East, is likely to be an extension of Roughrider, as it shares the border. The other four appear to be highly prospective and, like J-Zone, each could potentially be 17 Mlb. or more. However, it's too early to say. But looking at the mineralization of J-Zone, J-Zone East, Roughrider and Roughrider East, the latter for which Hathor recently came out with some really impressive numbers, it seems there is an entire string of pearls formation of perhaps 20–30 Mlb. pods within hundreds of meters of each other.

Fission to Commence Two Drill $3.6 Million Summer Exploration Program at Waterbury Lake, Athabasca Basin
KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 13, 2011) - FISSION ENERGY CORP. ("Fission" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:FIS)(OTCQX:FSSIF) and its Limited Partner, the Korea Waterbury Uranium Limited Partnership ("the Waterbury Consortium"), are pleased to announce that a $3.6 million summer exploration program, including 7,400m of drilling with two drills, at its flagship 40,256 ha Waterbury Lake uranium project, located in the eastern part of the Athabasca Basin, will commence by mid-June. Last winter's drill program confirmed the presence of multiple mineralized occurrences along a 1.5km east-west trend within the Discovery Bay Corridor. To date, five areas of uranium mineralization have been identified within the Corridor; the largest being the J Zone high grade uranium occurrence, which was successfully expanded to an east-west strike length of 370m and remains open laterally in all directions.

The primary focus of this summer's program will be to continue delineating the J Zone's high grade unconformity mineralization, in addition to the newly discovered basement mineralization found in the western part of the J Zone, extending west to the PKB area (see press release dated April 27th, 2011). A second drill will target uranium discoveries made in the vicinity of Hole WAT11-153, further to the west, and continue testing the prospective Oban area to the north. New regional targets at the highly prospective Murphy Lake area, located in the northwest part of the property, which were identified from last winter's geophysical surveys, will also be drill tested. Finally, ground geophysical programs, including an 83 line-km IP survey and a 47 line-km MLTDEM survey will be completed in the Oban North and Chiva areas.

The following summary outlines Fission's summer's 2011 exploration program:

-- C $3.6 million budget approved by the Limited Partnership.

-- Utilizing two drill rigs, twenty-one (21) drill holes totalling an
estimated 7,400m are planned. Twelve (12) holes are planned at the J
Zone high grade uranium discovery and the PKB extension to the west, and
three (3) holes will be drilled in the vicinity of Hole WAT11-153A, the
mineralized discovery farthest to the west of the J Zone.

-- Three (3) drill holes are planned at Oban, located 4.0 km north of the J
Zone, in addition to (3) drill holes at Murphy Lake, in the northwest
      part of the property.

-- Geophysical work including Time Domain Electromagnetic (TDEM) and
Induced Polarization (IP) surveys will commence at the Oban North and
      Chiva areas.

Fission is the Operator of the program, which is expected to be completed by late August. Results will be announced when available. An updated map highlighting the summer 2011 program can be found on the Company's website at http://www.fission-energy.com/s/WaterburyLake.asp.
