Las Vegas - Der japanische Autobauer Toyota gibt tausende Patente für die Brennstoffzellen-Technologie frei und will damit die Entwicklung dieser neuen Antriebstechnik fördern. Das Angebot solle für die Einführungszeit des ersten Brennstofzellen-Serienmodells Mirai von Toyota voraussichtlich bis Ende 2020 gelten, sagte Konzernmanager Bob Carter auf der Technik-Messe CES in Las Vegas am Montag.


5680 Patente, darunter etwa 1970 auf Erfindungen zu Brennstoffzellen oder 290 zu Wasserstofftanks, stünden somit kostenfrei zur Verfügung, teilte Toyota am Dienstag mit. Die 170 Patente für Nachfüllstationen will Toyota sogar unbegrenzt gratis nutzen lassen. Damit wolle Toyota "einen Schritt weitergehen, die Nutzung von Brennstoffzellenautos fördern und aktiv zu einer Wasserstoff-basierten Gesellschaft beitragen", so Carter.

Während andere Autobauer in Las Vegas einen Schwerpunkt auf selbstfahrende und vernetzte Autos setzten, beschränkte Toyota die kurze CES-Präsentation fast ausschließlich auf das Brennstoffzellen-Auto. Es kommt in diesem Jahr auf den Markt. Man werde 2015 voraussichtlich nur 700 Mirai-Fahrzeuge bauen, sagte Carter. Im nächsten Jahrzehnt sollen es "Zehntausende" jährlich sein.

Toyota arbeitet seit rund 20 Jahren an der Brennstoffzellen-Technologie und nahm dafür hohe Investitionen in Kauf. Beim Rest der Branche wird die Technik, bei der Wasserstoff in Strom umgewandelt wird, größtenteils skeptisch gesehen. Mercedes befasst sich zwar seit vielen Jahren mit der Technik, doch die schon mehrfach angekündigt Serienreife wurde immer wieder verschoben. Derzeit heißt es, man werde im Verbund mit Ford und Renault-Nissan im Jahr 2017 so weit sein.

Es ist kein Einzelfall, dass ein Unternehmen seine Patente frei nutzen lässt, um einem Markt einen Schub zu geben. Einen ähnlichen Weg ging zum Beispiel auch der Elektroauto-Hersteller Tesla. Was auf den ersten Blick nach einer großzügigen Geste aussieht, hat Kalkül. Denn sowohl Elektro- als auch Brennstoffzellenautos gelten zwar als fortschrittlich, werden aber nach Expertenmeinung kaum aus dem Nischendasein herausfinden. Durch das Freigeben der Patente besteht zumindest die Chance, dass andere Hersteller auch auf die Technologie umsteigen und sich Kosten - etwa beim Aufbau der nötigen Infrastruktur - teilen lassen."

Bin auch wieder in das Baby investiert.
Denke Geely durch die Kooperation mit Volvo als auch BAIC (Daimler, BMW, Volkswagen etc.) und BYD (Daimler) haben die besten Chancen.

"Ukrainian car market halves in 2014 - Ukrautoprom

The Ukrainian new passenger car market in 2014 amounted to 97,020 units, 2.2 times less than in 2013, according to the Ukrautoprom association.

"Thus, as predicted earlier, the level of the realized effective demand for new cars in the past year was the lowest since 2002," reads a post on the association’s website.

According to its data, the most popular automotive brand on the Ukrainian market in 2014 was Toyota, whose primary registration amounted to 10,296 cars (in particular, at the expense of car supply to the Interior Ministry for Kyoto Protocol funds), which was however 33% less than a year earlier.

The second most popular brand among Ukrainians was China's Geely - 9,365 cars, of which more than 7,000 cars were assembled in Ukraine (at Kremenchuk car plant, which was halted by the owners). The fall in the sale of these cars in 2013 was 43%.

ZAZ ranks third with the sale of 7,908 cars (55% less) and a share of 8%.

According to Ukrautoprom, Ukraine for the last month of the year sold 7,629 cars - 12% more than in November, but 55% less than in December 2013."

In aller spätestens 4 Jahren, wird sich der Markt in den USA auch wieder für Volvo sehr positiv zeigen (meine persönliche Meinung), denn dann ist die gesamte Volvo-Flotte runderneuert und der jetzt z. Z. neue XC 90 dann das "älteste" Pferd im Stall ....

On October 22nd, the 1.3T turbo assisted engine equipped by Geely's New Emgrand was crowned as one of the top 10 Chinese Engines in 2014, a reputation known as the Oscars of Chinese automobile industry. With its excellent performance in power, efficiency and noise, the engine gained acknowledgement from the committee. The award also manifests Geely's improvement in core technologies of the cars.

As one of the three major global engine awards and the most authoritative engine award in China, the "Chinese Heart" Top 10 Engines of the Year has lasted for 10 years. With an impartial and comprehensive evaluation standard, the award is highly recognized by the automobile industry and market, and it has been regarded as a referential standard for consumers when they choose cars. While the rules for this year see some changes and the imported engines are also included in the competition, through which the self-developed engines could contest with the advanced engine in the world on a lager platform.

It has been learnt that 46 engines made by 28 manufacturers signed up for the competition. All cars involved must go through five technical evaluation processes including power index, technology advancement, market performance, energy conservation and emission reduction, and experience to stand out among their counterparts. Geely's 1.3T engine has received wide acknowledgement from the members of the committee and was included in the name list of the top 10 engines. The committee described the engine as "Geely's small-displacement turbo-assisted engine launched this time is on a par with the global major brands, and its performance of noise in idle speed could compare with some luxurious brands. Its evaluation data and performances are appreciative and embody Geely's great improvement in the development of engines".

As an important component directly influencing the performance of the whole vehicle, engines present more demands for the car makers. In order to meet the demands of the consumers, the small-displacement turbo-assisted engine has become a trend. After 6-year dedicated efforts, Geely has developed its first 1.3T turbo-assisted engine independently. The engine pools advanced turbo , VVT and timing-chain free-maintenance technologies together and is characterized by excellent performance like light weight, durability and fuel conservation. The engine produces 98kW of power and 185Nm of torque which can propel the car to a top speed of 195km/h. With a 5.7L fuel consumption per 100km, the 1.3T is also among the most fuel-efficient models in its class.

After the test, the Evaluation Director from Auto Moto und Sport EVO said that the Geely New Emgrand with a 1.3T engine functions well in acceleration and its power output is relatively fluent at medium speed. The engine operates smoothly in idle speed, and NVH performance is good as well. Although its overall performance in the power system still needs some improvement, its power system contains the advanced technologies and makes use of the concept of small-displacement turbo-assisted engine, which makes the engine's performance can match with the 1.8L engine.

As one of the most important index, the good market performance of New Emgrand with 1.3T engine also contributes to the final result. Since the launch of the car in Jinan this July, the sales of the car keep growing. Its sales climbed to 17,952 units in September from 10,572 units in August, increasing 19.12% month-on-month. It's worth mentioning that the domestic sales of the car hit 15,985 and increased 49.9% month-on-month, making it a best seller among the self-developed models and cementing its position in the top 11 list of the A-class cars.

Industry experts believe that the crown of the 1.3T turbo assisted engine is not a surprise and its efforts including acquisition of Volvo and DSI all contributed to this result."

Data released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) recently showed that the sales of Geely Emgrand hit record again in October by amounting to 19,008 units, of which the domestic sales reached 17,069 units, up 34.2 percent year-on-year. Contributed by its outstanding performance, the model not only continued topping the sales among indigenous brands, but also was included in the top 10 sedans nationwide. Thanks to its outstanding performance in power, quality, and cost-performance, the sales of the model have been rising since it was launched at the end of July. Quite a few honors including the award of the top 10 Chinese engines also indicate that its good sales come from the outstanding performance of the product.

Emgrand remains the top with good sales and reputation As the flagship model of Geely, Emgrand enjoys the most impressive performance among indigenous cars. Its sales in the past 5 years since its launch amounted to 600,000 units, showing the vigour and competitiveness of self-owned brands. The inspiration brought by the success of Emgrand is that self-owned brands should dedicate to the product attractiveness.

According to the statistics, the sales volume of the new Emgrand has risen to 17,952 units in September and reached 19,008 units in October from the 10,572 units in July when it was launched, enjoying a monthly growth of over 30%. Emgrand not only regains the sales champion, but also becomes the only self-owned brand among the 10 best-sold vehicle in October.

Insiders from Geely disclosed that the orders for Emgrand have already mounted to around 21,000 units in October, of which almost 10,000 orders have not been delivered to the dealers due to a lack of capacity. With the the price reduction and the rapid updates of the products from the joint venture brands, the market environment for the indigenous brands has become increasingly tough, amid which the indigenous brands can draw some inspirations from the success of Geely Emgrand.

The successful models of joint venture brands have proven that those models with sales volume of over 20,000 units usually rely on its outstanding product performance rather than marketing gimmicks. Geely's new Emgrand is a product with balanced product attractiveness as well.
