Es kommt natürlich sehr darauf an, welche 10% hier das Team verlassen haben.

Zu vermuten ist aber, dass es genau die sind, die in Silicon Valley ihre Reputation nicht vergeuden wollen, wenn Tesla das selbst gesteckte Ziel nicht erreicht. Irgendwas bleibt da auch immer am Entwicklungsteam hängen selbst wenn die das Ziel ja nicht ausgegeben haben.

Ein Rätsel warum der Markt darauf nicht adäquat reagiert. Aber auch nicht ungewöhnlich.

Frank Havlak: a 5-year Autopilot veteran who led controls and path planning—
Nenad Uzunovic: a member of the path planning team for 2 and a half years
Drew Steedly: who led perception on Tesla’s Autopilot team
Ben Goldstein: a software engineer who led the simulation team at Tesla and he now took a similar role at GM’s Cruise

They also reported on some engineers who have been promoted or have taken over some of the responsibilities from the previously mentioned engineers who are no longer at Tesla.

As we previously reported, Kovac got the biggest promotion, but The Information also reported on:

Ashok Elluswamy: a 5-year Autopilot veteran who now leads the “perception” and computer vision teams
CJ Moore: also a 5-year Tesla Autopilot team veteran who took over the lead for the simulation program
Drew Baglino: a long time Tesla engineering executive with several different responsibilities took over path planning ...

As mentioned in our previous report about this situation, it sounds like Elon got rid of people who didn’t agree with his timeline of achieving fully autonomous vehicles by the end of next year.

It’s an extremely aggressive timeline that is doubted by the entire industry, but the CEO has been pushing hard for it over the last year.

Lately, the company even doubled down on the idea and made it the top selling point for Tesla vehicles; that they can be upgraded to fully self-driving capability.

It’s important for Tesla to deliver on the feature since Tesla is currently selling cars with the promise that their owners are going to be able to upgrade them with full self-driving capability through a simple software upgrade (for cars built since April 2019) and through a computer upgrade (for cars built since October 2016).

If Tesla doesn’t deliver the critical capability, which has regulatory and safety concerns, it will be in trouble with hundreds of thousands of owners.

A union alleges that Tesla fired some workers at its Buffalo solar products plant because of their pro-union stance and that the company in at least one case tried to interfere with a worker's efforts to find another job.

A few additional details were revealed in a document released by the National Labor Relations Board in response to a Freedom of Information Law request by The Buffalo News. The NLRB is investigating the charge, which was filed June 19.

The Pittsburgh-based United Steelworkers union, one of two unions attempting to organize workers at the South Buffalo plant, filed the charge last week. The two unions launched their drive last December.

A partially redacted document released by the NLRB omits the names of the workers who allegedly were fired in retaliation for supporting the union. It appears the allegation involves as many as six workers.

The document also says the union alleges that Tesla "intentionally interfered" with efforts by at least one person to secure another job, in "retaliation" for "outspoken union support." The document does not provide further details, nor does it identify how many workers were the target of the alleged interference in seeking another job.

Tesla has called the unfair labor practice charge "without merit" and said it will respond as part of the NLRB's process. The Steelworkers union did not respond to requests to comment on the case.

Tesla on Jan. 18 announced it would cut about 3,000 jobs companywide. It was believed Tesla cut nearly 50 jobs at the Buffalo plant. Tesla said last month that it had 329 full-time employees at the South Park Avenue factory, which was built and partially equipped with $750 million in state funding through the Buffalo Billion.

In denying the release of the names of workers and other documents related to the case, the NLRB cited exemptions to the Freedom of Information Law, including the release of records that would "constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy." The NLRB also said it withheld some records because they are part of an open investigation.

The Steelworkers union has said some Tesla workers approached the union about joining, which led the Steelworkers and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers to launch their joint campaign...
