Mark: We`re back. Let`s get some market insight from a market expert in a segment designed just for that purpose. Time for "Word on the Street." Joining us is Michael Moe, this time from New York. He`s director of research for global growth stocks at Merrill Lynch. Hi Michael.


Hi, how are you?


Mark: Which global stocks do you think are going to show the best growth?


Well, looking at this new phase I think we are in the market today, a major trend and theme that we like is what`s going on in the global marketplace with corporations looking to obtain, train and retain employees. A company that I think is an absolute dominant player in this theme is TMP Worldwide, which is the owner of Monster. Monster truly is the category dominant company in the recruitment space with 3.4 million users on its network. The Internet is all about disproportionate gains to the leaders. And clearly TMP is the leader in the space. Another company that has huge upside is Saba Software. Looking at the information revolution, it really is the knowledge revolution. And e-commerce is to the knowledge revolution what the railroad was to the industrial revolution. Saba is laying the knowledge tracks for corporations and knowledge workers. I believe the stock could move from 18, where it is today, and to 45 or higher, I think, just on pure fundamentals and momentum.


Rich Schottenfeld: When you are looking for growth stocks, what are the most important independent? What are you really looking for?


First of all, it is revenue and earnings growth. That is what drives stock prices. That`s just fundamental. But there are four characteristics I believe that are paramount to what I call the four Ps for growth stocks. The first P being people. There is no shortage of interesting big ideas, but execution is the key. The second P is product. A company that truly has a claim to fame and is a leader in a category. The third P is potential, huge upside, huge markets, looking for mega trends, such as the Internet globalization, outsourcing brands, creating huge upside for these growth stocks. And the last P is predictability. What type of revenue visibility, what type of operating model and scalability does a company have?


Mark: Let`s go back to TMP Worldwide. If the economy is slowing down, does that not bode ill for their business?


Actually, if you look at what`s going on in the knowledge economy, even with unemployment rate going from 3.9 to 4.1%, 70% of the Fortune 1,000 CEOs say finding qualified skilled labor is one of the key issues for growth. TMP is absolutely dominant in that category, and it is an absolute issue even in a slowing economy.
