Biodata: Im 3. Quartal weiter auf Überholspur
6,8 Millionen Euro Umsatz und deutlich über Plan.
Lichtenfels, 23. Oktober 2000.
nordhessische Unternehmen kommende Woche bekannt geben.

Biodata in 3rd Quarter on the Fast Lane
Security specialist overachieves plans with 6.8 million Euro turnover.
Lichtenfels, October 23, 2000. Biodata Information Technology maintains
exponential growth rates in 3rd Quarter 2000. The best quarter in company
history led to a turnover of overall 6.8 million Euro between July to
September, the company entering the profit zone faster than expected.
This successful business development further strengthens Biodata`s position
as the international leader in network and communication security.
With 6.8 million Euro Biodata Information Technology AG more than tripled
sales compared to 3rd Quarter 1999 (2.2 million Euro). From July to
September alone, the security specialist achieved sales equivalent to the
first half of this year. At the same time, Biodata reached the breakeven
point with an operative result (EBIT) of 0.3 million Euro - considerably
earlier than estimated at the company`s IPO in February.
On a nine monthly basis Biodata`s sales add up to 13.6 million Euro, the
company overachieving its plans for 2000 by 50 percent. There was a loss
of 1.7 million Euro (EBIT) in the first half year of 2000 caused by IPO
costs, extension of the international presence, expenses for research and
development and new products, but Biodata profited from strong
international growth in 3rd Quarter 2000 and from SPHINX sales, a new
software firewall for every PC. Next week, Biodata will publish the
detailed report of 3rd Quarter 2000.

Biodata übernimmt Glück & Kanja
Mit Sicherheit auf Wachstumskurs.
Lichtenfels, 23. Oktober 2000. Die Biodata Information
Technology AG übernimmt den Softwarespezialisten Glück & Kanja
aus Offenbach am Main. Das neue Tochterunternehmen hat sich auf
elektronische Sicherheit an PC-Arbeitsplätzen spezialisiert,
darunter einzigartige Technologie zur Verschlüsselung von E-
Mails.
Produkt macht "CryptoEx" die Verfahren Open PGP (Pretty Good
& Kanja somit sensible Unternehmensdaten gegen
Wirtschaftsspionage gesichert.
Verhandlung.
auszubauen.

High growth rates with leading security technology.
Lichtenfels, 23 October 2000. - Biodata Information Technology,
global leader in network and communication security, today
announced the acquisition of Glück & Kanja, a software
specialist based in Germany. The software company specializes
in electronic security applications for PCs, its core product
securing e-mail transactions. Glück & Kanja recently received
the Microsoft award 2000 for leading high-security solutions
for encryption and digital signature on the Windows platform.
With this acquisition Biodata moves its position on the
worldwide IT security market yet to another level.
With its "CryptoEx" product, the software company provides high-
end security for applications running on the PC like Microsoft
Office. Core technologies of Glück & Kanja`s platform are
public key infrastructures and easy-to-use, strongest available
cryptography for e-mail transmissions on the Internet.
"CryptoEx" provides companies with the necessary tools to
flexibly determine their e-mail security policies while
benefiting of the two most common encryption technologies for
electronic mail. Users are not limited to one crypto standard,
but can choose from a wide range of encryption technologies
which can be used simultaneously, including Open PGP (Pretty
Good Privacy) and S/MIME, the world`s widest available e-mail
cryptography. Glück & Kanja technologies provide system
independent protection against industrial espionage for
sensitive company data.
Some of the company`s customers include Siemens and GZS,
Germany`s leading processing company, handling 270 million
transactions in 1999. Currently Glück & Kanja is in
negotiations with other large customers and leading banks.
Moreover, the company is already developing new products for
desktop encryption and security for wireless technologies. The
company`s software can be integrated into Biodata`s security
management platform BALI, the hardware firewall BIGfire+ and
the software firewall SPHINX.
Under the terms of the agreement Biodata will acquire 100
percent of Glück & Kanja in exchange for approximately 80,000 Biodata
ordinary shares that will be issued from previously authorized capital.
Effective on the beginning 2000, Glück & Kanja retrospectively has been
incorporated into the affiliated group. With a staff number of
35 employees and turnover to 2.5 million Euro this year, the
company is already profitable. For 2001 revenues are estimated to grow
