NOTE - Hikari Tsushin is an Internet investment company and
also manufactures batteries, semi-finished and finished
electronic products.
To comply with the accounting requirement of its holding
company, Hikari Tsushin, Inc, the company has changed its
financial year-end date to July 31 from March 31. The financial
information of the current period presented in this results
announcement form covers a period of sixteen months from April 1, 2000 to July 31, 2001. Comparative figures were period of twelve months from April 1, 1999 to March 31, 2000.
The calculation of loss per share for the sixteen-month is
based on the weighted average of 4,663.78 million shares vs
1,267.74 million shares for year ended March 31, 2000 in issue,adjusted to reflect the sub-division of shares in April 200.
In accordance with newly adopted SSAP No. 1 "Presentation of Financial Statements" and No. 2 "Net Profit or Loss for the Period, Fundamental Errors and Changes in Accounting Policies",certain comparative figures have been reclassified and separately disclosed.
