Ashburton Receives Encouraging Results on Teels Lithium Prospect in Nevada

      Last Update: 1/11/2010 2:17:39 PM

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jan 11, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX)

--ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (ABR) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleasedto announce results from its initial ground program on the Teels Marshlithium prospect claims (see PR dated November 9, 2009), locatedapproximately 50 miles northwest of Chemetall Foote's Clayton Valleylithium brine operation in western Nevada.

Water sampling along the northwest margin of the Teels Marsh playaconfirmed lithium anomalies detected in previous work in surveysconducted in the 1970s. Three follow-up samples from areas of anomalous1970s sampling contained 530, 540 and greater than 1000 micrograms perliter (ppb) Li. Geochemical analyses were performed by ALS-ChemexLaboratories of Reno, Nevada, and North Vancouver, BC.

The samples were collected from springs near the edge of the playa andare interpreted to reflect Li input into the playa from the hills tothe northwest. The hills are largely underlain by Tertiary volcanicrocks and Cretaceous granodiorite, either of which could be sourcerocks for lithium-bearing brines at depth in the playa.

The Teels Marsh claims cover approximately 2640 acres (1070 hectares)in the western two-thirds of the Teels Marsh playa, a closed, desertbasin.

Teels Marsh was first worked in the 1860's for salt needed inchlorination production plants at Aurora, Comstock, and Candelaria. Inapproximately 1872 borax was discovered and was produced steadily until1892 by U.S. Borax, which still holds the private ground to the east.Operations ceased when other borax resources were found in DeathValley.

The Clayton Valley, North America's largest lithium producer, has a similar history of salt and borax production in the 1800s.

The Company has discussed test drilling of the Teels Marsh brines withhydrologic consultants and prospective drill contractors and isassessing its options on the next phase of work.

Solitaire Minerals Corp. and Ashburton Ventures Inc. Mobilize Drillers to the Chukuni Property in Red Lake, Ontario

      9:02 AM ET, January 4, 2010

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jan 04, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX)

-- Solitaire Minerals Corp. (SLT) (Solitaire) and Ashburton Ventures Inc. (ABR) (Ashburton) are pleased to announce the mobilization of Kluane Drilling Ltd., from the Yukon Territory, to the Chukuni Property situated in the Red Lake Gold Camp, Ontario.

In approximately two weeks, weather permitting, a 1,000 meter drill program will commence. Drill locations have been selected using the combined data from the Induced Polarization (IP) survey and the recently completed Mobile Metal Ion (MMI) soil survey.
The target considered to be of the highest priority is an approximately 10 meter wide shear zone which has historically produced assays up to 16 g/t gold.

The 2009 summer exploration program on the Chukuni property involved an Induced Polarization (IP) survey with follow up field work and sampling of the accessible IP anomalies. Due to the lack of outcrop, MMI soil surveys were carried out over five of the six best IP anomalies. A strong IP response that is typical for gold mineralization was obtained over the northern contact of the Howey Bay Intrusive. Of the five sampled IP anomalies, three also returned weak to moderate gold responses.

"We are excited to be moving forward with our first drill program on the Chukuni property, especially with our primary target, the northern contact of the Howey Bay Intrusive where the strongest IP and geochemical anomalies are located." states Mike England, President of Ashburton.

The Chukuni property lies within the southern corridor of the Cochenour- Gullrock deformation zone and is of particular interest within the Red Lake Mining District as this zone hosts the well known Red Lake-Campbell Mine Complex.

Goldcorp's Red Lake-Campbell Mine Complex, approximately 3.5 km to the north of the Chukuni property, and currently one of Canada's largest and richest Archean gold deposits.

Goldcorp's Red Lake-Campbell Mine Complex produced 629,000 ounces of gold in 2008 (source: Goldcorp's website at the following link http://www.goldcorp.com/operations/red_lake_mine/.
      :eek::lick:

Ashburton has an option agreement with Solitaire to acquire a 60% interest in the Chukuni Property consisting of 3 claims, covering 2,035 acres in the Red Lake Mining District of Ontario.

Mr. Andrew Tims, P.Geo will be operating as the qualified person under National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Andrew Tims has reviewed the technical content of this news release and confirms its accuracy. Mr. Andrew Tims is independent of Ashburton.

Ashburton Ventures Commences Work Program on Deep Creek in Nevada
      marketwire

Press Release Source: Ashburton Ventures Inc. On Monday January 25, 2010, 1:52 pm

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 25, 2010) - ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR - News; "Ashburton" or the "Company") announces work has commenced on its recently acquired Deep Creek Property in northern Nevada. The Deep Creek claims are located approximately 112 kilometers north of Elko, Nevada, and 56 kilometers northeast of the Newmont-owned Midas mine, in the Independence segment of the prolific Carlin gold trend.

Gold at Deep Creek was first discovered by Franco-Nevada in the mid 1980's, when two large geochemical anomalies were found to contain visible gold in grab samples. Mineralization at surface appears to be associated with highly silicified breccias and sinters along a prominent range front structure in Paleozoic carbonate rocks. Over 70 surface rock chip samples previously collected mostly along the range front structure returned assays from below detection up to 68 grams per tonne gold (2.0 opt Au).

A more extensive geochemical sampling program will begin immediately, with up to 1,200 meters (4,000 feet) of drilling to be implemented in 2Q 2010. Drill hole selection will incorporate the new geochemical data, as well as confirm assay results of historical (non-NI 43-101 compliant) drilling. In particular, drilling across the range front structure, where most of the known mineralization occurs, will take precedence.

To earn 100% of Deep Creek Ashburton will make cash payments totaling $155,000 USD, issue 500,000 common shares and spend $135,000 USD over the 4 year term. A 2.5% NSR applies with 1.5% purchasable by the Company for $2,000,000 USD.

Tom E. McCandless, Ph.D, P.Geo, a director of Ashburton and Qualified Person as defined by N.I. 43-101, has approved the information in this press release. The Deep Creek property has not been the subject of a National Instrument 43-101 report and Dr. McCandless has not verified the technical data disclosed in this release.

The Company further announces it has arranged a private placement of up to three million units at a price of nine cents per unit for gross proceeds of up to $270,000. Each unit consists of one common share and one common share purchase warrant. Each warrant entitles the holder to purchase an additional share at a price of twelve cents per share for eighteen months.

The proceeds from the private placement will be used for work programs and general working capital.

A finder's fee may be payable on the private placement.

The private placement is subject to the acceptance for filing of the TSX Venture Exchange.

Ashburton Ventures is a junior exploration company actively seeking mineral and energy opportunities for the benefit of all its stakeholders. For more information please visit the Company's website located at www.ashburtonventures.com.

Ashburton Obtains Historical Data and Increases Its Land Position at the Deep Creek Gold Project, Nevada

      9:02 AM ET, March 11, 2010

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Mar 11, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (ABR) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") has obtained historical data which includes a resource estimate report compiled in the late 1980's on behalf of Corona Corporation based on drilling data on the Deep Creek property.

The resource estimate of 1.1 million tons containing 1.7 grams (0.06 ounces) per ton of gold (70,000 ounces Au) was determined along a strike length of 457 meters (1500 feet) and a depth of 122 meters (400 feet). Reserves from the same report included approximately 477,000 ounces of gold in 7.5 million tons extending southward from the present property position. The company has expanded its property position southward to include this reserve estimate, which will increase to approximately 648 hectares (1,600 acres) the total land position for the Deep Creek property.

A surface program is currently underway at Deep Creek with results expected in the near future.

The Company emphasizes that both the resource and reserve estimates are historical, and a qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify either the historical estimate or the historical reserve estimate as current mineral resources, therefore these historical reserves should not be relied on and do not have currently demonstrated economic viability.

The technical contents of this release were approved by Ashburton director and qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, Dr. Tom McCandless, P.Geo. The property has not been the subject of a National Instrument 43-101 report, and Dr. McCandless has not verified the technical data disclosed in this release.

....uuuuuuuuups, DAS ging ja schnell - überraschend schnelllll:D:laugh:

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 16, 2010) - ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR - News; "Ashburton" or the "Company") has received positive results for its first phase of geologic mapping and sampling at the Deep Creek property, which encompasses 324 hectares (800 acres) located approximately 112 kilometers north of Elko, Nevada and 56 kilometers northeast of the Newmont-owned Midas mine in the Independence segment of the prolific Carlin gold trend.

Gold at Deep Creek was first discovered by Franco-Nevada in the mid 1980's, when two large geochemical anomalies were identified. As described in a previous news release, mineralization is believed to be associated with highly silicified breccias and sinters along a prominent range front structure (Ashburton News Release December 23, 2009).

In the present program, rock samples were collected along the range-front structure from hydrothermal veins, breccias, and sinters, and from the older sedimentary rocks that host them. A total of 46 float and outcrop samples were collected along a strike length of roughly 2.4 kilometers (1.5 miles), with the objective of sampling the lithologic variations observed along the range front structure. Gold was assayed for all samples at ALS Chemex (North Vancouver) using the AA-24 method, with a detection limit of 0.005 ppm Au. Gold contents range from 0.01-8.58 ppm for breccias (10 samples), 0.01-4.24 ppm for stockwork/veins (15 samples), and 0.02-3.07 ppm for sinters (5 samples). Sedimentary rocks collected up to 350 meters from the range front structure include argillite, quartzite, limestone, and shale (17 samples), with gold from below detection up to 1.44 ppm Au.

The results are encouraging as they demonstrate that gold is enhanced in both the hydrothermal features along the range front structure, and in the sedimentary rocks hosting the structure.

Ashburton Drilling Program Underway for Deep Creek, Nevada

      6:00 AM ET, June 17, 2010

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jun 17, 2010 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (ABR) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") has begun its 2010 drilling program for the Deep Creek property.

AK Drilling (Butte, Montana) is mobilizing and drilling scheduled to begin within seven days.

The objective of the first phase of drilling is to confirm the results of historical assays previously obtained for the property. The Company will complete 6-10 core holes with depths up to 200 meters along a prominent range front structure, where historical data from the earlier exploration period included a resource estimate of 1.1 million tons containing 70,000 ounces of gold along a strike length of 457 meters (1500 feet) and a depth of 122 meters (400 feet), with a reserve of approximately 477,000 ounces of gold in 7.5 million tons extending southward along the structure (see News Release May 6, 2010).

Deep Creek, which consists of contiguous claims covering roughly 648 hectares (1,600 acres) located approximately 112 kilometers north of Elko, Nevada and 56 kilometers northeast of the Newmont-owned Midas mine in the Carlin gold trend, was discovered by Franco-Nevada in the mid 1980's, and was the subject of sporadic exploration since that time. The Company emphasizes that the resource and reserve estimates are historical, and a qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify either the historical estimate or the historical reserve estimate as current mineral resources and therefore they should not be relied on.

To earn 100% of Deep Creek Ashburton will make cash payments totaling $155,000 USD, issue 500,000 common shares and spend $135,000 USD over the 4 year term. A 2.5% NSR applies with 1.5% purchasable by the Company for $2,000,000 USD.

The technical contents of this release were approved by Ashburton director and qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, Dr. Tom McCandless, P.Geo. Dr. McCandless has not verified the technical data disclosed in this release.

Gold prospecting in Nevada is my kinda game. It gives the little guys on a shoestring a shot at dinosaur hunting.
I watched as my associate, Scott Baxter turned his Tone Resources from an underfunded junior into a viable operation and was bought out by a major.Hurray for the little guy
You say lightening rarely strikes twice,(Scott is not involved here)…..but the rules are different in Nevada. If you throw out politics and the games played by the big guys….gambling, even on a potential mine comes with many advantages. There is no 97% payback like at the states tables…but the jackpots are there still to be won.

Some advantages of mining in Nevada that come to mind

Expertise and cost effectiveness is unparalleled and inexpensive as compared to hard rock mining and building camps, flying in work crews and accessing the property.
There is always a mill nearby that test bulk samples can be trucked to and processed in the exploration stage, and the technology to extract the valuables is unsurpassed…tried tested and true.

A lot of variables and x factors that blindside many juniors in other areas are not happening in this state. Not having to bare the cost of building a mill and contracting the ore, especially in the early stages is a deal maker in most cases

The other major factor is when it comes to removing the overburden…its easy….sand.

They just build a pit in the desert, no ecologically focussed concerns and get at er.

Ashburton management knows all this and has a very good prospect here at Deep Creek. It has excellent historical gold values and beginning next weekend, a six hole program commences.

Should significant values be encountered, access to capital is not such a teeth pulling project as it would be in other jurisdictions.
Expect speculators in the gold game to come into the market shortly . Seasoned players recognise the risk/reward ratio is in favor of the earlybirds. They get the advantager of an all time low and will be able to take profit all the way up as gold bugs join the game

Results could be expected to be in the 5 to 8 week range, which is a very short period for a looksie

Go to the website and check out the gold values and tonnage probable figures……use your noggin and you will stay afloat in the pennies game

Ashburton Ventures Inc.: Newmont Provides Historical Data for Deep Creek

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Sep. 7, 2010 (Marketwire) -- ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleased to announce it has completed an agreement with Newmont Mining Corporation (TSX:NEM), whereby Newmont will provide historical data pertaining to Ashburton's Deep Creek Property in northern Nevada. In exchange for this provision, Newmont has a Right of First Refusal whereby, should an offer be made by a third party to joint venture or otherwise purchase the Deep Creek project, or the Company itself, Newmont may match that offer. Additionally, Newmont will retain a one-half percent (0.5%) NSR at Deep Creek in the event that a mine is put into production on the property.

Formerly called Millionaria, the Deep Creek property was explored initially by Franco-Nevada in the mid-1980's, when two large geochemical anomalies were found to contain visible gold in grab samples. Drilling that followed produced an estimated reserve of 477,000 ounces of gold in 7.5 million tons, and resource of 70,000 ounces of gold in 1.1 million tons (see News Release March 11, 2010). Both the reserve and resource estimates are historical, and a qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify either the historical reserve or the historical resource estimate as current mineral resources, therefore these historical reserves should not be relied on and do not have currently demonstrated economic viability.

In its present program, Ashburton implemented the drilling of six to ten core holes positioned as close as possible to historic drill results already in the possession of the Company (see News Release March 11, 2010). The more comprehensive historical data provided by Newmont will be reviewed along with new drilling results acquired by Ashburton in its present program, with the objective of developing a resource model that meets National Instrument 43-101 requirements.

The Company has completed four core holes to date, with assay results anticipated in the coming weeks.:eek:

      News bei Ashburton Ventures!

Wie in unserer gestrigen Ausgabe spekuliert, glänzt Ashburton Ventures gerade vor ein paar Minuten mit sehr guten News. Unser Informant, der uns noch am Sonntagabend eindringlich geraten hatte "put ABR on your watchlist immediately, big news to come" (also ungefähr "werft umgehend ein Auge auf ABR, hier kommen gute Nachrichten") hatte also Recht.

Ashburton Extends Yukon White Gold Agreement
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Sep 08, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. /quotes/comstock/11v!abr (CA:ABR 0.06, 0.00, 0.00%) (FRANKFURT: ABR) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") announces it has negotiated an extension on its agreement to acquire a 100% interest on the River Au prospect in the Yukon Territory immediately adjoining ground held by Kinross Gold Corporation after their acquisition of Underworld Resources in the White Gold District. In consideration for a one-year extension the Company will pay the vendor 300,000 common shares.

Two phases of soil sampling by Aurora Geosciences out of Whitehorse were conducted in 2009. The second phase at the River Au prospect by the Aurora crew tripled the sampling density to 50-meter centers on lines spaced 100 meters apart in the areas of the earlier anomalies. The in-fill sampling detected several new anomalies ranging up to 95 and 150 ppb Au and expanded the anomalous area to the north and south. A trend of gold anomalies ranging from 25 to 150 ppb Au has now been detected on most of ten parallel lines across some 1100 meters of northerly slope. Individual lines have gold anomalies across as much as 150 meters of sampling, suggesting that multiple structures may be responsible for the soil anomalies.

Information contained in this release has been approved by David Hedderly-Smith, Ph.D., P.Geo., an advisor to Ashburton and a Qualified Person as defined by N.I. 43-101.

Ashburton Ventures is a junior exploration company actively seeking mineral opportunities for the benefit of all its stakeholders. For more information visit the Company's website located at www.ashburtonventures.com.

Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 40.132.064 von donnerpower am 10.09.10 13:17:06Recent gold discoveries and where to look next

It’s a perfect storm for junior gold stocks.

Gold prices are climbing steadily, billions of new exploration dollars are being pumped into the ground, and years of exploration work are starting to pay off in big new discoveries.

From the Yukon Territory to Tanzania to a new zone in the prolific Abitibi Belt, junior gold stocks are on a tear and a few are living up to their 10-to-1 payoff potential.

But as the market continues to perform, it’s going to get a lot more expensive to get in. As a result, the risk/reward is steadily declining.

That’s why we’re glad to report that Andrew Mickey, Q1 Publishing’s Chief Investment Strategist, recently had the chance to sit down with Robert McLeod, someone who has had the “touch of gold” when it comes to discovering gold in places few people have had success.

Robert got his start in the industry as part of the team that discovered the 10 million ounce+ Hope Bay gold deposit in Nunavut and has worked closely with many major miners including Freeport-McMoRan, BHP, Kinross, and Antofagasta.

Then he turned his attention to other largely underexplored regions.

He most recently served as a founding director Underworld Resources, which went from discovery to takeover in less than two years and helped launch the current Yukon Gold Rush (he provides a real inside perspective on the Yukon now below).

But as Robert says, “If you want to make a discovery, you often have to look where no one else is.”

Right now, he’s looking for gold in an area that almost no one is (hint: in the Eastern United States) and his three basic rules for determining whether a deposit has real potential.

All the details and more are below:

Andrew Mickey: How did you get started in the exploration industry?

Robert McLeod: I grew up around the mining industry in Stewart B.C., a northern mining town. Both my father and grandfather were miners and the treasure hunt for gold has always been something I wanted to pursue.

After graduating as a geologist for 1993, I worked for major and junior companies throughout North America.

From 2000 to 2003, I worked for Miramar Mining in the Hope Bay Belt in Nunavut, and was part of a substantial discovery. I took my first executive roll at Atna Resources following this, teaming up with Michael Williams. We later formed Full Metal Minerals and Underworld Resources.

AM: How did your experiences there create the foundation for your success today?

RM: I worked with many mentors in different geological environments and honed my technical skills as one of the best in the business.

The most important skill that I developed is what indicators suggest an ore deposit. Every explorationist has different criteria, to me it includes three major criteria:

      1) Metal endowment: in the unglaciated areas of North America, I look at alluvial gold production, or past production from lode sources.

      2) Target large alteration footprints and geochemical anomalies

      3) Include the presence of localized high-grade samples or visible gold...this is very important in the economics of gold deposits (or base metal deposits)

I saw all three indicators at Underworld’s White Gold Project and convinced our board of directors to make a rich bid for the property from then-unknown prospectors, Shawn Ryan and Cathy Wood. Thankfully we outbid the competition.

AM: How did the takeover come into play? Underworld still seemed to be in the very early stages?

RM: Our exploration group has been tight with Kinross for many years. I admire them due to their faith and investment in junior companies, similar to Teck in the 1990’s. To me and many of my friends in the business, they are the partner of choice for junior companies. With Underworld, our partnership started in August of 2008 while the worldwide markets were starting their crash. Financing markets were closed for junior gold companies, and we had some hot holes from our first round of drilling at white gold. To keep the drilling going, I called my friend, Glen Masterman VP Exploration at Kinross to make a private placement in Underworld. That gave us the money to drill hole 21, which intersected 50 meters of 3 g/t gold, and helped us raise further money during the dark months of the fall of 2008 to finance the REAL discovery holes in the spring of 2009.
Underworld success (and the exciting area play) wouldn’t have happened without Kinross’ investment. However business supersedes friendship, and they gave their initial friendly takeover proposal just before Christmas 2009. We were trading at a seasonal low, and our board of directors was enjoying their holidays. Our board of directors, with guidance from our advisors, told them that it was too soon and too cheap.

At PDAC in March 2010, I was meeting with a team of geologists to discuss the resource estimate we recently completed for Underworld, as well as Full Metal Minerals/Kinross strategic alliance at Kinross’ office in Toronto. Tye Burt pokes his head into the meeting and asks to speak with me for a minute, and hands over a letter proposal with a very fair premium. We had a few hours to respond, otherwise there was a suggested alternative to ‘take it to the shareholders’ directly in the morning. At that time, President and CEO Adrian Fleming was giving a presentation at the conference, and the rest of our board was busy enjoying the show. We scrambled and convened, and felt that it was a very good value for our shareholders, and recommended approval. The rest is history.

AM: You’re also involved in another company that’s looking in an “out there” region - Full Metal Minerals. How is Full Metal’s strategy different than others? What attracted you to develop a multi-project portfolio like that?

RM: Full Metal has a hybrid exploration strategy where we bring in joint venture partners for the majority of our projects, but drill a few with 100% ownership if we think they are particularly special.

Over the past few years, we’ve partnered with Freeport-McMoRan, BHP, Kinross, New Gold and Antofagasta, in addition to many juniors. The multi-project hybrid increases the probability for discovery. Mineral exploration is risky, so multiple projects increase an explorationist’s chances of success.

AM: You’ve had a lot of success in some of the hottest exploration regions in the world. Now that word’s out though, it’s getting kind of expensive.

Do you see any new, more “still-off-the-radar” regions, which have some big potential?

RM: The best explorers always need to be thinking about their next target. We all know the statistics of successful exploration, but also need to be creative about where to prospect.

I take great pride in surrounding myself with a team of young, aggressive and talented geologists.

One man, Lamont Leatherman, grew up in the Carolinas and had consulted for me for the past four years for both Underworld and Full Metal.

One day in Alaska while waiting for the weather to clear, he told me about the gold in the Carolinas and the opportunities there. I have faith in my men and kept it in the back of my mind.

I had gotten involved with Nuukfjord (recently announced name change to Revolution Resources), and saw that a southern property would be a good compliment to this company, and pursued the idea with Lamont. When I first visited the site, saw the historic mining and drill results, and extent of the mineral belt, I was sold on the concept.

AM: The Carolinas? That’s kind of new. But isn’t the U.S. a tough place to operate – well, anywhere outside of Nevada?

RM: Patience is often rare in the junior exploration company world.

In the Eastern U.S., most of the land is covered with private family owners, many of whom have owned the lands for many generations.

Revolution was fortunate enough to team up with Lamont, and another Carolina geologist, Dave Lown, who had previously drilled there for Noranda 20 years ago.

These men are local, and have the grace and patience to get the deals done with landowners and work with them as partners. Romarco had the same patience and they are working on a multi-million ounce discovery.

AM: What are you seeing from the historical results and alterations in the ground that has lured Revolution to acquire this land package?

RM: I mentioned earlier my three main criteria for discovery in a gold belt. Noranda drilled a 100 meter hole of 1.0 g/t Au, and many other holes that bottomed in mineralization. At the time, mining companies were looking for shallow, small resources that they could throw on a leach pad. At Champion hills, I see potential for a multi-million ounce deposit similar to the assets of Oskisko, Brett Resources, International Tower Hill and Detour Gold.

AM: It doesn't seem like a very prolific mining/exploration region?

RM: The Carolinas were home to America’s first gold rush in the 1880’s. I look at this as endowment again.

Nevada was (and still is called) the silver state...now miners call it the richest place in the world for gold, and most discoveries are only a generation or two old.

Just because an area has a lot of people living on it, doesn’t mean that there isn’t a lot of gold under it.

AM: How are locals looking at all this?

RM: Our project geologists have a lot of experience and respect for the culture of the Carolinas.

We have a very well-financed company so letting the landowners know that more money in drilling means more money in their pockets from a producing mine is the first step.

Revolution has had the patience to negotiate and get these deals done. We’re working in an area of America that values honesty and hard work...we’ve built that into our agreements. That way, most of our money can go into drilling out a deposit.

I grew up in a working class family surrounded by miners. I respect the values of our industry, the landowners and structure it into every deal that I make.

AM: What do you see there geologically? Is it something similar to other gold-producing parts of the world?

RM: I see an extensive belt of old mines, that produced gold during the Civil War and Great Depression. I see a series of volcanic rocks, some of which host hydrothermal gold mineralization and some that cap it.

I see long intervals of gold mineralization from the Noranda era of drilling with significant alteration.

I’ll leave it to academics to compare it with other mineral belts around the world since it doesn’t drive our exploration criteria. I just can’t wait to get out there and drill some deep holes.

AM: Any thoughts on size potential?

RM: My first trip out to the property was highlight by a piece of Romarco Minerals’ (TSX: V.R, Stock Forum) core samples against the core from Champion Hills – the property acquired by Revolution. The two pieces were indistinguishable, and are likely a similar mineralizing system.

Champion Hills definitely is in the same tectonic environment, and host’s the same mineralogy and alteration. We are looking for something similar or better. Romarco’s high grade discoveries at Haile have been awesome, and I’m sure we can find the same at depth.

AM: Why not go back to the Yukon? It seems like companies are falling into gold every couple of weeks? Is it too expensive and the upside potential isn't there because you have to pay too much for the properties or is it some other reason?

RM: If you want to make a discovery, you often have to look where no one else is. That’s why Revolution is in the Carolinas. With Underworld, we saw this potential in the Klondike gold fields. I love the discovery potential in the Yukon, and am so excited for Kaminak (TSX: V.KAM, Stock Forum) and ATAC’s (TSX: V.ATC, Stock Forum) discoveries recently. In 2009, I bought a lot of stock and shamelessly promoted Kaminak in the same breath as Underworld once I saw their outstanding soil results. To continue to participate in the play, I joined the board of directors of Silver Quest Resources (TSX: V.SQI, Stock Forum) due to their outstanding land package and exploration ability, and am confident we are next on the Yukon discovery train. On the easier side, with Full Metal Minerals, we staked the hottest areas on the Alaska side of the White Gold Belt, taking advantage of being the only active company on the east side of the border. I am confident that this will pay dividends to the Full Metal shareholders.

AM: What can we expect from the North Carolina's over the next few months, for results, news flow?

RM: What is remarkable about North Carolina, is that we don’t even need a permit to drill exploration holes. I will send my ex-Underworld/Full Metal/Revolution team down to North Carolina in late September to find more gold.

If any investor walks around the PDAC or Cambridge house show, you will see mostly grey or bald heads. At our booth, you see you will see young, talented, experienced and enthusiastic geologists in our group. These young men and women are the key to help us make further discoveries. They’ve been recruited by major mining companies but want to stay with our group. I’d gladly put our exploration team against any other company, major or junior and we’d come out ahead.

Ashburton Exposes Upper Vein Widths of One Meter Assaying 47.9 g/t Gold and Potential Additional Gold Zones at Deep Creek, Nevada

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Oct. 28, 2010 (Marketwire) -- ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR)(FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") announces further results from samples taken along the Upper Vein area of its Deep Creek Project located 112 kilometres north of Elko, Nevada.

The latest field program produced, among other very notable results, a channel sample over one meter in width along the furthest southern end of the Upper Vein assaying at 47.9 g/t gold which appears to penetrate the softer clastic sedimentary units of the Paleozoic Schoonover Formation. Numerous samples of vein material have been assayed as shown in the table below.

This new set of results has extended the Upper Vein southward for a total length of approximately 640 meters. The data has also revealed that the Upper Vein is actually a network of veins occurring dominantly in the Precambrian McCoy Group metasediments (see news release dated October 14, 2010), but also extending southward into Paleozoic sedimentary rocks identified as the Schoonover Formation................

Premier Gold Mines to Acquire Stake in Ashburton
      12/9/2010 9:00:02 AM - Market Wire

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Dec 9, 2010 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --

ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR) (FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") has signed a letter agreement with Premier Gold Mines Ltd. (PG-TSX) whereby Premier will participate in a private placement financing that will be completed by Ashburton. The majority of this financing will fund further exploration at Ashburton's Deep Creek gold property located near Elko, Nevada.

Ashburton has made several significant discoveries at Deep Creek including the Upper Vein that has been traced over a strike length of over 640 meters with surface sampling returning assays up to 1,180 g/t Au with width of up to over one meter widths in some areas. Additional undiscovered gold-bearing veins are also indicated by a float sample of vein material collected upslope of the Upper Vein, which assayed at 28.90 g/t gold. The Upper Vein area represents only 10% of the Deep Creek property, much of which has not been systematically explored since the early 1990's.

"Ashburton is pleased to have Premier as a significant shareholder," stated Michael England, President and CEO of the company. "We look forward to continuing our exploration at Deep Creek, now in collaboration with Premier's experience and resources. A well-funded comprehensive exploration program is what the project deserves."

"The Deep Creek discovery shares similarities with the nearby Midas (Newmont) and Hollister (Great Basin) gold mines, both being high-grade narrow vein deposits," stated Ewan Downie, President and CEO of Premier. "Our investment in Ashburton gives us a foothold in this significantly undervalued Company and provides for Premier to assist in implementing the next phase of exploration at Deep Creek."

Premier will invest $600,000 in Ashburton through the purchase of 7,500,000 units at $0.08. The financing is to close on or about December 22, 2010. Each unit consists of one common share in the capital of the company and one-half a common share purchase warrant. Each full warrant entitles the holder to purchase one additional share at a price of $0.13 cents per share for a period of 18 months from the date of issuance. An additional 2,500,000 units may be sold on a non brokered basis with the same terms.

The initial share purchase will result in Premier owning approximately 14 per cent of Ashburton's current outstanding shares.

This agreement and private placement are subject to the acceptance for filing by the TSX Venture Exchange.

The technical contents of this release were approved by Ashburton director and qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, Dr. Tom McCandless, P.Geo.

Ashburton Identifies a New Vein System With Visible Gold Sampling Up to 20 g/t at Deep Creek, Nevada
      12/13/2010 11:03:29 AM - Market Wire

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Dec 13, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX News Network) --

ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE: ABR)(FRANKFURT: ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleased to announce it has identified a new vein system with visible gold on its Deep Creek Project located 112 kilometres north of Elko, Nevada. The Waterfall Vein system is located in Waterfall Canyon, roughly 700 meters south of Catscat Canyon where the Upper Vein system was previously confirmed to have gold contents as high as 1,180 grams per tonne (see news releases October 14th and 28th, 2010).

The Waterfall Vein system includes the Waterfall Vein, which strikes north-northwest with an approximate length of roughly 200 meters. Visible gold was noted in the southernmost extension of the vein, and an assay of a 2.98 kg sample of the outcrop has returned 20.5 grams per tonne gold. The 'Thirteen-Five' vein is 60 meters west of the Waterfall Vein with a 2.35 kg sample returning an assay of 13.5 g/t gold. True vein widths at both sample locations were roughly 0.5 meters. The veins widen to over 1.5 meters in highly silicified carbonate rocks, with two samples of mixed vein and country rock each assaying at 0.28 g/t Au.

The samples were collected as rock chip grab samples of quartz vein material in highly silicified carbonates of the Proterozoic McCoy group. Details of the samples assayed to date are summarized in the table below, and a map showing the location of the Waterfall Vein system can be viewed at www.ashburtonventures.com.

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We are very excited that the gold story at Ashburton's Deep Creek project in Nevada continues to grow. Assessment of the Waterfall Vein system is in its early stages, but so far is 200 meters long and is clearly separate from the Upper Vein system, which itself extends over 640 meters and carries high gold grades," states Mike England, Company president. "We are very pleased that our prediction that additional gold-bearing veins would be identified at Deep Creek is becoming a reality."

The Waterfall Vein system is at lower elevations on the property, so further sampling and mapping will be possible during the winter season.

Samples from Deep Creek have been analyzed for gold by ALS Chemex Laboratories, North Vancouver, British Columbia, using the fire assay protocols Au-AA24, Au-AA25, and Au-GRA22 that provide detection ranges of 0.005-10, 0.01-100 and 0.05-1000 ppm gold, respectively. Silver values are obtained through acid leach protocols Ag-AA64 and Ag-AA62, with detection limits of 0.07 ppm and 1-1,500 ppm silver respectively. In sampling the Waterfall Vein system, care has been undertaken to collect unbiased representative samples, but investors should note that samples containing coarse gold can have an inherent nugget effect.

The technical contents of this release were approved by Ashburton director and qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, Dr. Tom McCandless, P.Geo.

Ashburton Provides Update for the Deep Creek Gold Project, Nevada
      1/18/2011 8:00:07 AM - Market Wire

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jan 18, 2011 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --

ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR)(FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleased to provide an update of activities for its Deep Creek Project located 112 kilometres north of Elko, Nevada. The Range Front, Upper Vein, and Waterfall Vein areas were the focus of exploration for 2010, with highlights over the past year that include the following:

-- Discovery of the Waterfall Vein, with 200 meters of strike length
delineated to date and 20.5 g/t Au, and the Thirteen-Five Vein with 13.5
      g/t Au assayed to date.

-- Discovery and delineation of the Upper Vein, with over 640 meters of
strike length, assays up to 1,180 g/t Au, and vein widths up to 1.5
      meters.

-- Completion of 716 meters of drilling on the Range Front Structure; the
Company is planning to drill southward on the RFS based on new mapping
that suggests zones of hydrothermal brecciation on surface that can be
used to target mineralization at depth.

-- Recognition of hydrothermal breccia zones along the Range Front
Structure, south of previous drilling, that will aid in the selection of
      future drilling targets.

-- Quadrupling of initial Deep Creek land position to over 970 hectares
(2,400 acres), to include two areas of historic rock and soil anomalies
that have seen little prior exploration.

Further mapping, sampling, and reviewing of historic data is continuing, and geophysics will be implemented to identify targets for drilling in Q2 of 2011. Details of the Company's past activity for each of the three areas are provided below.

      Waterfall Vein Area

The Waterfall Vein system is the latest discovery in the Deep Creek Project, and is located 700 meters south of the Upper Vein. The Waterfall Vein strikes north-northwest with an approximate length of 200 meters, with quartz vein material assaying at 20.5 grams per tonne gold. The 'Thirteen-Five' vein is located 60 meters west of the Waterfall Vein with an assay of 13.5 g/t gold. Samples of mixed vein and country rock from each vein assayed at 0.28 g/t Au. Vein widths are roughly 0.5 meters, widening to over 1.5 meters in highly silicified carbonate rocks of the Proterozoic McCoy group. Assays to date for samples collected in the Waterfall canyon area are summarized in the table below.

NOTE: Samples were chiseled from country rock as channel samples roughly 15
cm in width to achieve a sample weight of 1.5 kg or greater.

Assays for additional samples collected from the Waterfall Vein area prior to snowfall are anticipated in the coming weeks.

      Upper Vein Area

The Upper Vein Area was identified in Q3 2010 and is located 300 meters east of the Range Front Structure. The Upper Vein has a strike length of over 640 meters, with samples assaying as high as 1,180 g/t Au, and some over a meter in width as high as 47.9 g/t Au. Additional undiscovered gold-bearing veins are also indicated by a vein float sample collected upslope of the Upper Vein that assayed at 28.90 g/t gold. Elevated silver has also been noted in the system, and highlights for both metals are summarized in the table below.

NOTE: Where possible, vein material was chiseled from vein exposures to
their contact with country rock, and along strike to obtain a sample weight
      exceeding 1.5 kg.

The Upper Vein system is hosted in sedimentary and metasedimentary rocks of the Paleozoic Schoonover Formation and Proterozoic McCoy Group. Country rock samples collected along the southward extension of the Upper Vein also exhibit elevated gold contents, including a composite sample in highly variable lithologies of the Schoonover Formation that are capped by Tertiary volcanics. The composite channel sample returned a 0.1 g/t Au result, suggesting that enhanced gold values may extend beneath the volcanics. Highlights of the country rock assays are provided in the table below.

      Range Front Structure

Drilling on the Range Front Structure in the mid-1980's by Franco-Nevada produced an estimated reserve of 477,000 ounces of gold in 7.5 million tons and resource of 70,000 ounces of gold in 1.1 million tons. Both the reserve and resource estimates are historical and a qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify either the historical reserve or the historical resource estimate as current mineral resources, therefore these historical reserves should not be relied on and do not have currently demonstrated economic viability.

In summer 2010, the Company launched a drill program on the Range Front Structure and collared each hole at an orientation to reproduce nearby historic drill hole assays. The holes were drilled at roughly 45 degrees inclination such that drill intercepts would be roughly perpendicular to the Range Front fault, which is the primary host for gold mineralization. Five inclined drill holes were completed for a total of 716 meters, and three intercepted elevated gold at similar depths to that encountered historically, but not over similar depth intervals. All of the HQ core was half-split and assayed over roughly 1.2 meter (approx. 4 ft) intervals from the intersection of basement to the end of the hole, and the best assays from the 2010 drilling program are summarized below.

Significant Drill Intersections from the Range Front Structure 2010
      Drilling Program

      Interval,
Drill Hole from, m to, m meters Au (g/t)

      DC-10-C-1 26.2 29.3 3.0 0.90
      including 27.7 29.3 1.5 1.53
      DC-10-C-2(i) 69.8 72.2 2.4 1.03
      DC-10-C-4 67.1 76.2 9.1 0.88
      including 67.1 68.6 1.5 3.92
      including 75.0 76.2 1.2 2.01
      DC-10-C-4 102.7 103.9 1.2 1.46

Note: Ashburton implemented quality control (QA/QC) during the drilling
program that included the use of standards and blanks. Samples of split
HQ core were transported by Company personnel to ALS Chemex Laboratories
in Reno, Nevada for sample preparation. The remaining half is stored at
a secure facility in Utah. The core samples are analyzed using 30-gram
or 50-gram standard fire assay methods. Repeat assays testing for coarse
gold performed on selected samples did not produce significant differences.
(i)Visible gold was also observed in DC-10-C-2 at 77 meters.

In Q3 2010, Ashburton also launched a mapping exercise that incorporates structural mapping similar to that implemented in open pit mining operations. During the course of mapping, it was determined that the Range Front fault has an undulating surface that experienced lateral as well as normal movement during mineralization. Movement on the undulating fault surface caused hydrothermal fault breccias to form, which are similar to features described in the historic drill logs where greater gold contents were noted. These widened areas of hydrothermal mineralization are identified on the surface by the abundance of quartz and quartz-breccia float, which will aid in targeting future drilling along the Range Front Structure in Q2 2011.

It was noted during core logging that the 45 degree drilling inclination paralleled the apparent bedding in altered sedimentary and igneous rocks adjacent to the range front structure, meaning that all rock types were not completely sampled. As the sedimentary and igneous rocks on the Range Front Structure have assayed up to 1.44 g/t Au, future drilling will also test the country rock adjacent to the Range Front Structure for potential low grade mineralization.

The 2011 Program at Deep Creek

The 2011 exploration program at Deep Creek will continue to focus on the Range Front Structure, Upper Vein, and Waterfall Vein areas. Concurrent structural mapping and outcrop sampling will continue in all three areas to identify the mineralizing structures for gold. Airborne magnetic/EM surveys are planned for the entire property to better define lithologic contacts and identify potential target areas of alteration and mineralization, with high resolution ground surveys to help prioritize drilling locations. Two drilling programs are planned, one to test the southward extent of gold mineralization along the Range Front Structure, and a second program to test the extent of vein mineralization in the Upper Vein and Waterfall Vein areas. Drilling on the Range Front structure may start as early as February, depending on snow cover at lower elevations. However, nearly all historic exploration has been in these three areas, which represent less than 25% of the total land position at Deep Creek. The Company recently increased its land position to encompass two new areas of historical rock and soil gold anomalies that are similar in surface area to those in which the Range Front Structure, Upper Vein and Waterfall Vein areas are located. Ashburton now has over 971 contiguous hectares (2,400 acres) under claim, and will carry out detailed sampling and mapping over these areas in 2011.

The technical contents of this release were approved by Dr. Tom McCandless, P.Geo., Vice President, Exploration for Ashburton and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

The Company is also pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Tom McCandless to the position of Vice President, Exploration. Dr. McCandless brings many years of experience in the exploration and assessment of mineral properties throughout the world, and has served as a Director for Ashburton since its incorporation in 2008. Ashburton Receives Additional High Gold Assays Up to 148 g/t for the Deep Creek Gold Project, Nevada
      1/20/2011 8:00:03 AM - Market Wire

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jan 20, 2011 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --

ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR) (FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleased to provide additional assays for its Deep Creek Project located 112 kilometres north of Elko, Nevada. New samples from the Upper Vein have assayed 148 g/t and 68.4 g/t gold, which extend the higher gold content zone (greater than 10 g/t Au) five meters southward along strike, for a total extent of 35 meters. Considered with previous assays, the results indicate continuity in gold content along select portions of both veins that will be targeted for follow-up sampling and drilling in the 2011 exploration program. The Waterfall Vein, with an outcrop length of over 200 meters, has returned a second assay of 25.5 g/t Au, which with a previous assay of 20.5 g/t Au extends the higher gold content zone to roughly three meters along strike.

      Upper Vein Area

The Upper Vein Area is located 700 meters north of the Waterfall Vein, with a north-northwest strike length of over 640 meters. Several previous assays of the Waterfall Vein indicate a high gold content zone (greater than 10 g/t Au) of roughly 30 meters. Two new vein samples have assayed at 148 g/t and 68.4 g/t gold, and extend the high gold zone five meters southward for a total extent of 35 meters. Three samples of breccia located 375 meters north of the higher gold content zone and offset on north-south structures assayed at 0.10-0.19 g/t Au.

      Waterfall Vein Area

The Waterfall Vein system strikes north-northwest with an approximate length of 200 meters (see news release, January 18th, 2011). A previous sample of the Waterfall Vein assayed at 20.5 grams per tonne gold over a 0.5 meter interval, and a new sample collected three meters north along the vein has assayed at 25.5 g/t Au over a 1.5 meter width. Together, the samples define a strike length of roughly three meters for higher gold content (greater than 10 g/t Au) in the Waterfall Vein. Two samples of breccia located 80 meters north and offset from the Waterfall vein were also assayed at 0.37 and 0.44 g/t gold.

Assays for the Upper Vein and Waterfall Vein areas are summarized in the table below, and images of their distribution can be viewed at the Ashburton website www.ashburtonventures.com.

Ashburton Begins 2011 Work Program at Deep Creek, Nevada

      Mar. 8, 2011 (Marketwire Canada) --

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR)(FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the 2011 work program has begun for its Deep Creek Project, located 112 kilometres north of Elko, Nevada. The $1.4M budget includes expansion of the claim position, detailed structural mapping, airborne geophysics, and drilling sixteen core holes for a total of 2,900 meters (9,600 ft.). The objectives of the program are to locate additional zones of gold mineralization southward along the Range Front Structure, and to test the depth extent of high grade gold veins in the Upper Vein and Waterfall Vein areas (see news release, January 18, 2010).

Claim staking activities were conducted in February to cover additional areas of interest that were identified through review of historical data, and have now been concluded. A total of 150 claims have been staked, bringing the total land position to roughly 1,214 contiguous hectares (~3,000 acres).

Additional structure cell mapping was also conducted in February, though outcrop exposure was limited by variable snow cover. Structure cell mapping was implemented to identify areas along the Range Front Structure where greater zones of hydrothermal alteration may be encountered, as well as areas where the structure may intersect the gold-bearing veins to the east. The Range Front Structure has received the bulk of historical drilling on the property, with an estimated reserve of 477,000 ounces of gold in 7.5 million tons and resource of 70,000 ounces of gold in 1.1 million tons (at a weighted average grade 0.06 ounces per ton with a 0.02 ounce per ton cutoff). Both the reserve and resource estimates are historical and a qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify either the historical reserve or the historical resource estimate as current mineral resources, therefore these historical reserves should not be relied on and do not have currently demonstrated economic viability (see news release, January 18, 2010).

Surface outcrop sampling continues for the Upper Vein and Waterfall Vein areas, to assess the gold carrying capacity of the veins along strike. With over 640 meters of strike length, only 200 meters of the Upper Vein has been sampled continuously on surface, with 35 meters of length consistently over 10 g/t of gold to date. Sampling is still early stage at the recently discovered Waterfall Vein, with a length of 200 meters but only three samples collected to date, with two assaying at 25.5 and 20.5 g/t Au. The 'Thirteen-Five' vein located 60 meters west of the Waterfall Vein is of undetermined length has only one assay of 13.5 g/t Au collected to date (see news release, January 18, 2011).

Permitting for road and pad construction for the drilling program has been filed with the BLM, with 16 core drill holes planned for a total of 2,900 meters (~9,600 ft). In addition to the Range Front Structure, drilling for 2011 will emphasize the Upper Vein and Waterfall Vein Areas, proving out the known veins at depth, and testing for additional veins not seen at surface including potential northeast-trending structures. Drilling will also test for the extension of the vein systems beneath Tertiary volcanics to the southeast. Bids from several drilling companies are being received with drilling to start early in Q2, or sooner if weather permits.

Bids have also been received for an airborne magnetic/electromagnetic survey of the property. Roughly 1,600 line kilometers are planned, with the objective to identify regional structures, lithologic contacts, and areas of alteration and mineralization beneath volcanics and alluvial cover.

Ashburton Begins Drilling Program at Deep Creek, Nevada
      4/19/2011 8:00:14 AM - Market Wire

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Apr 19, 2011 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --

ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR)(FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the drilling program has commenced at its Deep Creek Project, located 112 kilometres north of Elko, Nevada. Rocky Peak Drilling (Twin Falls, Idaho) has been engaged to drill up to sixteen core holes for a total of 2,900 meters (9,600 ft.). The objectives of the program are to locate additional zones of gold mineralization southward along the Range Front Structure, and to test the extent of high grade gold veins in the Upper Vein and Waterfall Vein areas.

The 2011 work program at Deep Creek began several weeks ago, and in spite of late heavy snows the road and drill pad construction is nearly complete. The remaining construction will be undertaken while drilling begins at lower elevations along the Range Front Structure, where zones of potentially greater hydrothermal alteration have been identified through structure cell mapping (see news release, March 3, 2011). As weather improves, drilling will move to the Upper Vein and Waterfall Vein Areas, to test for extension of the known veins at depth and under Tertiary volcanics to the southeast, and for additional veins not seen at surface but suggested to exist by the presence of gold-bearing float above the known veins.

Drilling will be accomplished through the use of an EF-50 skid mounted drill, operating two, twelve (12-hour) shifts per day. To expedite assay results, core logging and splitting will be undertaken on-site, with sample splits delivered to the ALS-Chemex Laboratories in Elko, Nevada. The drilling campaign is anticipated to take 60-90 days to complete.

Exploration on the property is also ramping up as the snow recedes, with a primary focus on an area north-northeast of the present drilling program, where historical soil and rock assays returned values up to 1.71 ppm Au and 4.66 ppm Au, respectively.

Ashburton Update on Drilling Program at Deep Creek, Nevada

      May 20, 2011 (Marketwire Canada) --

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR)(FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") reports that the drilling program at its Deep Creek Project, located 112 kilometres north of Elko, Nevada is proceeding very well. Six drill holes were collared in the Waterfall Vein Area to test the sub crop and down dip extent of the Waterfall and 13-5 veins, and to test for mineralization between the veins and the Range Front Structure to the west, with a total of 900 meters (2,954 feet) of core recovered (>95% recovery). Intervals of veining and brecciation have been intersected in all of the holes, and the core is being cut and prepped for gold assay at the ALS Chemex Laboratories in North Vancouver, B.C.

The drill has now been moved to begin a series of holes to test the extent of high grade gold veins discovered last fall in the Upper Vein area (see news release October 14, 2010). During pad preparation, the Upper Vein was intersected, with up to a meter thickness of continuous quartz veining, and an additional two meters of stockwork veining. A few tons of the vein material and adjacent country rock were collected and stockpiled on one of the pads. Visible gold was commonly noted in the vein material during separation of the vein and country rock. Pictures of the vein exposure activity can be viewed at www.ashburtonventures.com.

Ashburton Signs Option Agreement for the Golden Edge Property and Begins Strategic Alliance With Premier Gold Mines
January 13, 2012 - 08:00:00 AM VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 13, 2012) - ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR)(FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Premier Gold Mines (TSX:PG) ('Premier') to option the Golden Edge property, located 50 kilometers east of Winnemucca, Nevada. The 2012 exploration program for Golden Edge will emphasize drilling for a concealed bulk minable gold target ideally positioned on a north-south structure 26 kilometers south of the Turquoise Ridge Mine (operated by Barrick Gold Corporation) and eight kilometers north of the Lone Tree Mine (operated by Newmont Mining Corporation). All of the gold and base metals deposits in this area are intimately associated with structures, with the Lone Tree Mine focused on a 90m-wide structure called the Valmy fault zone that is believed to extend northward onto the western portion of the Golden Edge property based on regional magnetics.

Golden Edge was acquired by Premier after review of historical activity on or near the property, most of which was completed in the late 1990's. Based on historical geophysics and drilling completed over six drill holes, mineralization is believed to lie beneath 200-500m of cover in Paleozoic-aged detrital and carbonate rocks of the Antler orogenic belt.

Ashburton may establish a 50%-50% joint venture agreement with Premier by completing a $750,000 year-one work commitment that includes at least $500,000 directed toward drilling. An additional $2,250,000 in exploration expenditures is required over year two and three to complete the 50% interest in the property.

As announced previously (see news release November 3rd, 2011), the Company has also entered into an alliance with Premier, in which Ashburton will assess new gold exploration opportunities in North America exclusive of Premier's Red Lake and Saddle project areas.

The technical contents of this release were approved by Dr. Tom McCandless, P.Geo., Vice President, Exploration for Ashburton and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

Ashburton to Be Granted Option by Eurasian Minerals on Cathedral Well Gold Property, Nevada
February 9, 2012 - 12:19:01 PM VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 9, 2012) - ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR)(FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Eurasian Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:EMX)(NYSE Amex:EMXX) has agreed to grant, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Bronco Creek Exploration, Inc., an option to Ashburton on Bronco Creek's Cathedral Well property. The property is located about 60 km southwest of Ely, Nevada, and south of the historic White Pine Mining District and consists of 167 unpatented federal lode mining claims (1,237 ha) on lands administered by the National Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management.

Gold mineralization was discovered in the area in 1986 by USMX, which processed 1.1M tonnes of ore with an average grade of 2.1 g/t Au in a heap leach operation from 1988-1990 (Wilson et al., 1991, in Geology and Ore Deposits of the Great Basin, Geol. Soc. Nevada, Symposium Proceedings v.2, p. 687-700). The production is historical in nature and Ashburton has not verified the figures, and therefore it should not be relied upon. Mapping and sampling by Eurasian geologists indicate that alteration and gold mineralization extend beyond the historic workings, onto the western claims of the Cathedral Well property.

The bulk of identified gold mineralization and historical production in the area has been found in the Chainman Shale, near its contact with the underlying Joana Limestone. New mapping and sampling by Eurasian geologists led to the identification of additional targets in the lower Chainman formation host rocks across the property. A CSAMT survey on the western claims identified anomalies under cover, and several vertical holes drilled late in 2010 encountered favourable host rocks from roughly 40-300m depth before drilling was halted.

On the eastern claims, mapping combined with soil and stream sediment sampling has also identified gold anomalous areas with jasperoid development along the Joana-Chainman contact, several of which have currently permitted drill holes. Additional work in the 2012 field season is focused on identifying other targets for drilling later in the program. The Company will review geophysical and geochemical data, and new mapping around the currently permitted drill sites, to prioritize drill-ready targets for late 2012.

Regionally, the Pilot Shale that underlies the Joana Limestone has also been found to host economic gold mineralization such as at Alligator Ridge (operated by Barrick Gold Corp.) and the Pan project (held by Midway Gold Corp.). Locally on ground adjacent to the property, the Pilot shale hosts mineralization in a deposit discovered, but not mined, by USMX. The Eurasian geologists found similar alteration in the Pilot shale on the property, leading to additional drill targets that have been permitted for initial drill testing.

Ashburton President Michael England states, "Cathedral Well possesses several gold-favourable lithologic domains with the potential to host significant new discoveries. We look forward to working with Eurasian Minerals on the property and anticipate great results."

Subject to execution of a formal agreement, Ashburton may earn an initial 65% of Cathedral Well by paying Eurasian $40,163 on signing, incurring $5 million on exploration of the property, issuing Eurasian 1.45 million Ashburton shares over seven years and delivering a feasibility study, together with additional cash and share payments, in year seven of the agreement (all dollar amounts in USD).

The technical contents of this release were approved by Dr. Tom McCandless, P.Geo., Vice President, Exploration for Ashburton and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

Ashburton Completes Gravity Program on the Golden Edge Gold Property, Nevada
February 27, 2012 - 10:53:59 AM VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 27, 2012) - ASHBURTON VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE:ABR)(FRANKFURT:ARB) ("Ashburton" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has completed its gravity survey of the Golden Edge property, located 50 kilometers east of Winnemucca, Nevada. A north-south structure was previously identified through review of historical gravity and magnetic data to extend onto the Golden Edge property from the Lone Tree Mine, located eight kilometers to the south and operated by Newmont Mining Corporation (see news release, January 31st, 2012). The Company engaged Magee Geophysical Services LLC (Reno, Nevada) to collect high resolution gravity data to better define the structure and depths to potential mineralization over roughly 400 gravity stations with a resolution on the order of 0.01 mGal. The data collection phase has been completed and results will be interpreted by an independent geophysical consultant in the coming weeks.

In January 2012, a review of historical gravity data revealed a gradient extending northward from the Lonetree Mine into the property, with several possible right lateral shifts or bends indicating structural complexity. The historic CSAMT and magnetic data mapped out layered units under cover on the property that include a basalt layer of variable thickness between layers of alluvium and tuff (see news release, January 31st, 2012). An additional CSAMT survey may be required to best resolve the drill hole locations, with the line length and orientation of that survey dependent on the interpretation of the gravity results.

Golden Edge was optioned from Premier Gold Mines Limited (TSX:PG) in 2011, with Ashburton establishing a 50%-50% joint venture agreement with Premier by completing a $750,000 year-one work commitment that includes at least $500,000 directed toward drilling. An additional $2,250,000 in exploration expenditures is required over year two and three to complete the 50% interest in the property.

Ashburton is also pleased to announce that it has engaged geologist Brion Theriault to oversee the Golden Edge project. Mr. Theriault has over 20 years of gold exploration, development and production, including two years on the Saddle Gold Project for Premier Gold Mines, and who brought the Golden Edge project to the attention of that company. Mr. Theriault is a Certified Professional Geologist and qualified person as defined by NI 43-101, and will oversee all of the technical aspects of the project.
