WORKING CAPITAL of $24.6 million
DAVYHURST GOLD PROJECT
agreement reached to acquire a 100% interest in the Davyhurst Gold
project from NM Rothschild & Sons.
This 560km2 project has gold resources of approximately 400,000
ounces and the acquisition includes a 1.3mtpa gold treatment plant
and associated infrastructure.
FORT WILLIAM mineral resource has been increased and now totals
2.50Mt at 2.25g/t Au for 179,000 ounces. Drilling continues along
strike and down dip where mineralisation remains open.
COWARNA ROCKS - Croesus has reached agreement with Ramsgate
Resources, where Croesus may earn up to a 80% interest in Cowarna
Rocks project located 110km east of Kalgoorlie.
GOLD FORWARDS
10,414 ounces @ $472 and
16,500 ounces @ $470-$510.
CROESUS ACQUIRES 100% INTEREST IN DAVYHURST GOLD PROJECT
Croesus Mining has agreed to acquire a 100% interest in the Davyhurst
Gold project from NM Rothschild and Sons. This 560sqkm project has
gold resources of approximately 400,000 ounces and the acquisition
includes a 1.3mtpa gold treatment plant and associated infrastructure.
Project tenements consist predominantly of granted mining leases
providing maximum benefit for exploration and mine development.
CONSIDERATION FOR THE PROJECT IS
* Three million dollars cash - payable in 3 equal 6 monthly
instalments of $1 million each.
* One million fully paid ordinary Croesus Mining NL shares.
* Two million 35 cent, five year options.
The project is located 120 kilometres NW of Kalgoorlie. The previous
owners of the project put together a comprehensive land package in
the area in the mid 1990`s consolidating the holdings of numerous
parties including the Davyhurst assets of WMC and Aberfoyle.
This consolidation of tenements that covers over 50 kilometres of the
Kalgoorlie greenstone sequence is one of the key attractions of the
property.
The purchase allows Croesus the opportunity to undertake systematic
exploration and realise the advantages of having a very large and
contiguous ground holding that was previously held by numerous
parties.
The project represents an excellent addition to Croesus` current land
holdings and the possibility of a second mining operation for the
Company, utilising plant and infrastructure at well below
replacement cost.
The Davyhurst project hosts significant portions of several regional
scale gold structures, including the Zuleika and Kunanalling Shears
and the Mt Ida Fault. The Zuleika Shear is interpreted to control the
position of the Kundana Gold deposits, located south of Davyhurst.
Numerous exploration targets exist, due to the lack of exploration
work completed outside of the direct mine areas.
This potential is illustrated by the area north of the 500,000 ounce
Waihi and Lights of Israel open pits, where there is only one line of
drilling for the next 12 kilometres.
Croesus propose to spend over $2 million in the next 12-18 months to
aggressively test the Davyhurst area.
Most of the historic open pits require on-strike and depth-extension
testing and recent regional exploration work by Rothschild has
identified significant grass-roots anomalies that require immediate
testing.
It is anticipated that formal sale documentation will be concluded in
the next few weeks with drilling proposed to commence shortly after.
GOLD PRODUCTION & BINDULI OPERATIONS
Gold production from Binduli totalled 10,325 ounces at a cash
operating cost of $302 per ounce for the quarter. Mill feed was
sourced from the remainder of the Beaver pit stockpiles and the
recently commenced Navajo North and Navajo West pits. Open pit
operations were not adversely affected by approximately 300mm of rain
that fell during the quarter.
The Navajo South pit which contains an estimated 175,000 tonnes @
2.74g/t gold (16,400 ounces) is proposed to commence in May 2000.
Completion of treatment of Beaver pit ore showed that both the grade
and tonnage exceeded reserve estimates with 209,548t @ 2.73g/t gold
recovered compared to a budget of 186,191t @ 2.60g/t gold.
Metallurgical extraction was also above budget at 92.7%. These
improvements resulted an additional 2,712 ounces being recovered.

TAKEOVER BID FOR GILT-EDGED MINING
Croesus` bid for Gilt-Edged Mining lapsed on 18 April 2000. Croesus
acquired a total of 1,464,187 shares in Gilt Edged and these have
been sold via acceptance into the Goldfields bid.
A profit of $257,000 was made on the sale which will offset the costs
involved in making the bid.
LAKE WELLS PROJECT
The Lake Wells Project located 100km north of Laverton on the NE
margin of the Yilgarn Craton, covers over 50km of the poorly explored
Ulrich Range and Mt Gill greenstone belts that me concealed by sand
plain and shallow Permian cover.
Recent aeromagnetic data acquired by AGSO has allowed the definition
of a more extensive greenstone sequence than previously thought and
confirmed the presence of major regional structures which are very
similar to other structures, which control the position of major gold
deposits in the Eastern Goldfields.
Lake Wells represent an excellent under explored, large acreage
project capable of hosting Laverton style gold mineralisation.
A substantial drill program is planned to commence in the September
2000 quarter.
COWARNA ROCKS - JOINT VENTURE SIGNED WITH RAMSGATE RESOURCES LIMITED
Croesus has reached agreement with Ramsgate Resources, where Croesus
may earn up to a 80% interest in Ramsgates Cowarna Rocks project
located 110 km east of Kalgoorlie.
The Cowarna Rocks project, covers a number of very poorly tested but
extensive gold in soil anomalies. These soil anomalies are up to 6
kilometres long and require immediate drill testing.
Croesus is required to spend $700,000 over 5 years to earn 80%, with
a minimum commitment of $130,000 in the first year.

estimate for Fort William was completed in September 1999. Since that
time RC and diamond drilling has discovered and partially delineated
a new zone of high-grade mineralisation within the northern portion
of the resource area. A summary of the current resource is shown
below. Initial pit optimisation studies indicate that approximately
251,000 t @ 2.62 g/t Au is recoverable at current gold prices.
Further drilling is required to close gaps within the optimized area
with the likelihood of adding to the optimal pit reserve.

WALLBROOK HILL JV - CRUSADER AND KINGSLEY DRILL RESULTS
CRUSADER PROSPECT
Twelve PC holes were drilled at Crusader with infill drilling now
completed on 100m line spacings along the 700m long main zone.
Drilling intersected mineralized extensions as predicted however the
width and tenor of the results in most cases, showed that earlier
high grade intercepts have less than 100m strike influence and a more
complex structural setting than previously interpreted.

ppb Au values were returned from the RAB drilling. Follow up drilling
is planned to take place during the next quarter.

Final Assay results from 1m splits, 2m maximum internal dilution,
1 g/t Au lower cut, no upper cut, Fire Assay Method.
Fifty nine RAB and sixteen aircore holes were drilled at the Kingsley
prospect during the quarter. Drilling targeted areas where
gold-in-soil anomalies up to 100 ppb Au remained untested.
KINGSLEY PROSPECT
Kingsley drilling included one traverse of ten holes south of
existing gold anomalism in a structurally complex zone on the
southern extremity of the project. Encouraging results were returned
including 10m @ 0.22g/tAu intersected in weathered, hematite altered
intermediate volcanics. Further south a 1.26 g/t Au repeat was
returned in a one metre interval in basal sands. Several other +500
ppb Au values were returned from the RAB drilling. Follow up drilling
is planned to take place during the next quarter.
