ergo?
vorsichtig erste Positionen aufbauen
Tschau

gut was danach kam kennen wir alle

We will see...

Vielleicht erfährt man ja da etwas.
Gruß Pteppic

News :
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Dec 21, 2000 (BW HealthWire) -- Curis, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRIS)
today announced that it has closed the private placement financing announced on
November 16, 2000, raising $46.8 million in gross proceeds from the sale of 5.2
million shares of newly issued Curis common stock placed with a group of
institutional investors.
"We are pleased to have concluded this transaction on a timely basis during a
period of volatility in the financial markets," said Doros Platika, M.D.,
president and chief executive officer of Curis. "This financing has
significantly increased the financial resources of the company and positions it
strongly as we look forward to multiple regulatory, clinical and manufacturing
milestones expected to take place beginning in early 2001."
Prudential Vector Healthcare Group, a unit of Prudential Securities, acted as
the placement agent for this transaction. Total shares outstanding of Curis
common stock following this transaction number approximately 31.3 million.
The Company plans to use the proceeds of the private placement to fund its
ongoing research and development, capital expenditures, sales and marketing
capability, potential acquisitions, working capital and general corporate
purposes. The Company`s most advanced products include OP-1 for non-union
fractures, developed in collaboration with Stryker Corporation and under
regulatory review in the U.S., Europe and Australia, and Chrondrogel, in Phase
III clinical trials for a pediatric urological disorder known as vesicoureteral
reflux.
The Company has filed a resale registration statement on Form S-1 with the
Securities and Exchange Commission related to the privately placed shares.
Copies of this statement will be available by contacting Investor Relations at
Curis, Inc., tel: 617-503-6506.
Curis, Inc. is developing products based on technologies in the emerging field
of regenerative medicine. The Company is combining insights gained through the
study of developmental biology with high-throughput screening capabilities,
proteins, cells and biocompatible materials to facilitate the development of new
regenerative medicine therapies. For more information, please visit the Curis

Prudential Securities kauft 5,2,mill neue Aktien für
46 Mill?

...mittelfristig gesehen...
Wer war eigentlich der Schlaumeier auf Xetra?

Stryker Reports OP-1 Receives Positive Opinion From European CPMP
KALAMAZOO, Mich., Jan. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- John W. Brown, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Stryker Corporation (NYSE: SYK) today announced that the Committee for Proprietary Medicinal Products (CPMP) adopted a unanimous positive opinion to recommend the granting of marketing authorization for OP-1 (Osteogenic Protein 1) in the European Union. The CPMP opinion will now be considered by The European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products (EMEA) on behalf of the European Commission, which is expected to make the final decision regarding marketing authorization in 3-4 months. Osteogenic Protein 1 is Stryker`s patented recombinant human protein which initiates bone formation. The product recommended for marketing authorization is a combination of the OP-1 protein and a collagen carrier in a wetted paste, which is surgically implanted into the bone defect. The recommended indication is for the treatment of nonunion of the tibia of at least 9 month duration, secondary to trauma, in skeletally mature patients, in cases where previous treatment with autograft has failed or use of autograft is unfeasible. Autograft, the current gold standard of care in treating nonunion fractures, is bone surgically removed from a patient`s own hip in a second painful procedure. The marketing authorization recommended by the CPMP would include the 15 member countries of the European Union plus Iceland and Norway. This marks the first recommendation for approval of a biotechnology product for use specifically in the field of orthopaedic medicine. Additional information regarding the CPMP opinion can be found at the following web site: www.eudra.org/humandocs/Humans/Opinion.htm
Stryker Corporation develops, manufactures and markets specialty surgical and medical products, including orthopaedic reconstructive, trauma, spinal and craniomaxillofacial implants, powered surgical instruments, endoscopic systems, patient care and handling equipment for the global market and provides outpatient physical therapy services in the United States.

Curis Comments On Report From Licensee
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BW HealthWire)--Jan. 3, 2001--Curis, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRIS - news) today commented on an announcement from Stryker Corporation regarding the unanimous positive recommendation of marketing authorization for OP-1 (Osteogenic Protein 1) in Europe by the Committee for Proprietary Medicinal Products (CPMP). Curis up 23 pct on European approval for bone growth drug
NEW YORK, Jan 3 (Reuters) - Shares of biotechnology company Curis Inc. (NasdaqNM:CRIS - news) jumped more than 20 percent on Wednesday following European regulatory approval of a drug that helps bones re-grow following an operation.
The Cambridge, Mass.-based company`s stock gained 23 percent, or $2, to $10-3/4 on the Nasdaq stock market. The move for Curis, which boasts Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen as its single largest shareholder, is well below the 52-week high of $27-1/4, but off lows of $6-7/8.
The drug, OP-1, or Osteogenic Protein 1, which is licensed by the Stryker Corp. (NYSE:SYK - news) in Europe and the United States, uses recombinant protein in a paste-like mixture that can be applied in and around a bone at the time of surgery to replace lost bone.
Curis discovered the signals that cells send to bones to make them grow, said Curis spokesman William Boni.
Shares of Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Stryker were up modestly 1.87 percent, or 91 cents, at $49.51 on news of the drug`s approval by Europe`s Committee for Proprietary Medicinal Products (CPMP) -- the first such approval by regulating authorities for the field of``regenerative`` medicine.
The drug will now be considered by the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products (EMEA) on behalf of the European Commission. Approval by the EMEA, expected in 3 to 4 months, will make OP-1 available for use in the 15 member countries of the European Union plus Iceland and Norway.

Curis Enters Into $25 Million, Three-year Stem Cell Licensing Agreement With Aegera
Therapeutics; Broad Collaboration Will Focus On Stem Cells Taken From Adult Skin
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. and MONTREAL--(BW HealthWire)--Jan. 5, 2001--Curis, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRIS)
and Aegera Therapeutics Inc. today announced that Curis has entered into a licensing and research
agreement with Aegera granting Curis an exclusive worldwide license of Aegera`s skin-derived, adult
stem cell technologies. The agreement is valued in excess of US$25 million in licensing fees,
research support and milestone payments, in addition to royalties on potential product sales.
The agreement establishes a broad collaboration to investigate the therapeutic potential of these
technologies in neurological, pancreatic and cardiovascular disorders. Research will be conducted at
Curis, Aegera and McGill University, Aegera`s academic collaborator.
"Stem cells are a critical component of the future of regenerative medicine," said Doros Platika, M.D.,
president and chief executive officer of Curis. "One of the challenges of stem cell-based therapeutics
is finding an easily accessible source of pluripotent stem cells. Aegera`s work in stem cell biology
suggests that stem cells present in adult skin may be able to give rise to a variety of cell types that go
beyond their tissue of origin.
"Curis` expertise with stem cells, growth factors and small molecules, combined with Aegera`s
technology, represents a dynamic development paradigm for innovative regenerative therapeutics,"
said Dr. Platika. "We also look forward to the opportunity provided under this collaboration to work
with Professor Freda Miller, who originated Aegera`s technology at McGill University`s Montreal
Neurological Institute. This alliance further consolidates Curis` leadership position in all aspects of
regenerative medicine."
"The past year has seen dramatic developments in reducing to practice the significant promise of
stem cells as human therapeutics," said Michael Atkin, president and chief executive officer of
Aegera. "We are confident that in partnership with Curis we will demonstrate the wide-spread utility of
human adult skin-derived stem cells, in addition to their safety and societal advantages."

product development capacity," said Dr. Platika.
"We believe the marketing, sales and distribution capabilities of Stryker will
help ensure the delivery of this innovative new therapy to patients whose bone
fractures have not healed properly," said Dr. Platika. "Curis will receive up to
mid-teen royalties on sales for all orthopaedic and periodontal indications,
therefore, we look forward to the results of ongoing clinical trials conducted
by Stryker in a number of additional orthopaedic and periodontal indications."
The CPMP opinion will be considered by the European Agency for the Evaluation of
Medicinal Products (EMEA) on behalf of the European Commission, which is
expected to make the final decision regarding marketing authorization in three
to four months. OP-1 is also under review by regulatory agencies in the U.S. and
Australia.
The product recommended for marketing authorization is a combination of the OP-1
protein and a collagen carrier in a wetted paste, which is surgically implanted
into the bone defect. The recommended indication is for the treatment of
non-union of the tibia of at least nine-month duration, secondary to trauma, in
skeletally mature patients, in cases where previous treatment with autograft has
failed or use of autograft is not feasible. Autograft, the current standard of
care in treating nonunion fractures, consists of bone surgically removed from a
patient`s own hip in a second painful procedure.

First Biotech Product for Orthopaedic Medicine Recommended for Approval in Europe; Curis Comments On Report From Licensee
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Jan 3, 2001 (BW HealthWire) -- Curis, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRIS)
today commented on an announcement from Stryker Corporation regarding the
unanimous positive recommendation of marketing authorization for OP-1
(Osteogenic Protein 1) in Europe by the Committee for Proprietary Medicinal
Products (CPMP). OP-1, under license by Curis to Stryker Corporation for
orthopaedic and periodontal indications in exchange for royalty payments as a
percentage of sales, is the first biotechnology product recommended for use
specifically in the field of orthopaedic medicine.
"We are delighted that Curis` first product, which is also the first in the
field of regenerative medicine, has been recommended for regulatory agency
approval," said Doros Platika, M.D., president and chief executive officer of
Curis. "OP-1 is based on Curis` expertise in key developmental biology pathways
that will allow us to generate additional products which activate these pathways
to restore normal function. OP-1 represents the first of many products from
Curis` pipeline that has the potential to change the way medicine is practiced
by reactivating the body`s own ability to repair and regenerate.
"The recommendation by the CPMP validates the formation of Curis, which has
resulted in the creation of a company with near-term product revenue
opportunities, a rich pipeline, a productive research engine and an effective
product development capacity," said Dr. Platika.

weiter abschmiert.Jedenfalls ist das Ding seit Creative Biomolecules Umtausch
ein reiner Flopp -
Was soll ich tun?
