Nuance Powers Advanced Speech Systems for Industry Leaders Japan Telecom and All Nippon Airways
First Japanese Language Voice Portal and Full-Service Airline Speech Recognition Systems Launched
MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2001-- Nuance (Nasdaq:NUAN - news), the leader in Voice Web software, today announced two speech-application deployments in Japan. Nuance, in conjunction with Omron Corporation, will power the first Japanese voice portal deployed by Japan Telecom, the country`s largest carrier. In addition, All Nippon Airways has launched Japan`s first full-service airline speech recognition system. These new services will use Nuance speech recognition to enhance customer service, reduce costs, drive revenue and improve customer acquisition and retention.
Japan Telecom`s voice portal will offer customers information including news, movies, weather, restaurants, sports, stock quotes and traffic, via wireline or wireless devices. This offering is part of the company`s effort to expand access to Internet-based information from any device, anytime. The voice portal will launch in the summer of 2001.
All Nippon Airways ``V Navi`` service provides domestic passengers with 24-hour access to real-time information on arrivals and departures, seat availability, fare prices and airport information. In addition, users can reserve and cancel tickets and confirm flights, using the automated system. This V-Commerce, or voice-enabled e-commerce, system was deployed on April 1, 2001 and is the first full-service airline speech recognition system in use within the country.
Both speech systems were deployed in conjunction with Omron Corporation, based in Kyoto, Japan. Omron is a member of the Nuance Partner Alliance and a leading provider of voice-enabled systems in Japan. Omron has worked with Nuance to deploy applications at several securities firms, and telemarketing, trust and communication companies.

Was hälst du von NUAN ?
PS: Schau dir mal Garmin GRMN an, die stellen Navigationssysteme her. Gewinn 96 Millionen
Umsatz 350 Millionen
KGV von 22 (ALLE ANGABEN LAUT KOSTOLANY4.DER WEIß EIGENTLICH JA WAS ER SCHREIBT!!!)
Die Aktie ist momentan sehr stabil!
