Venture Targeting China`s US$20 Billion Market

The Parties Reach Binding Legal Agreement Subject to Final Approval Of Respective Boards

IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- PharmaPrint Inc. (Nasdaq: PPRT - news), a leader in the development of health products from natural plant extracts,
announced today the successful completion of a binding legal agreement with ShenZhen ZeGu Venture Capital Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of China New
Industries Investment Co., Ltd. The companies will form a joint business entity that will sell a wide range of herbal-based health products in China and the Asia
Pacific region utilizing the proprietary PharmaPrint(TM) Process.

Under the terms of the agreement, PharmaPrint owns 51% of the new entity, principally by contributing exclusive rights to its proprietary technology. China New
Industries will contribute $6 million in cash and receive in return 49% of the joint venture equity shares. China New Industries` initial contribution is $1.5 million in
cash; the remaining capital contributions will be provided in installments over a two-year period in accordance with relevant laws. PharmaPrint will pay a nominal
administrative fee at the time of distribution. PharmaPrint will transfer use rights to its technology with respect to manufacturing, testing and quality control of
herbal-based health products; provide necessary technical assistance and services; and grant an exclusive license for the use of the PharmaPrint patents, trade
secrets and trademarks in China and the Asia Pacific regions, while retaining title to these technologies.

The initial stage of the of the joint venture will focus on promotion and marketing of PharmaPrint`s herbal-based health products produced from raw materials and/or
semi-finished products. Once the initial stage is completed, the focus of the joint venture entity may also include certain phases of the production process.

This agreement is subject to approval by both parties` governing boards. The Company anticipates that a formal joint venture contract and articles of association will
be completed within the first quarter of 2000.

Pharmaprint (PPRT:Nasdaq - news) cribbed a move from the Qualcomm
(QCOM:Nasdaq - news) play book. Today, the development stage company,
which makes pharmaceutical versions of herbal remedies, announced the
completion of a binding legal agreement with China New Industries
Investment.

During the day session, Pharmaprint rose 15/32 to 1 7/16, which in the land of
microcaps is a gain of 48.4%. Oh, yeah. And that move came on volume of 4.4
million shares. Usually, volume for the herbalist is low six-figures.

Tonight, that volume has spilled over into the night session, along with some
momentum. It was last up 3/16 to 1 21/32 on 1.4 million shares on Island.

The deal, which hasn`t been formally signed yet, creates a joint venture to
promote Pharmaprint`s products across the Pacific. China New Industries will put
$6 million in cash into the new venture over the next two years, with an initial
stake of $1.5 million. In exchange, it gets a 49% stake. Pharmaprint will own the
other 51% in exchange for providing exclusive rights to its products.

Company CEO Richard Piazza said that China New Industries approached
Pharmaprint with the funding.

"Let me explain the transaction," he said. "We were approached by China New
Industries. It`s a venture fund, depending on the money conversion, in the range of
$150 million, which is run by the Chinese government. A lot of the money in the
fund goes to support capitalist ventures. Their goal is to create business in China
that will create a business investment."

Piazza said that Chinese culture is more open to the concept of herbal medicine,
with a predilection towards self-directed healthcare. He said that Chinese herbal
market is $20 billion strong, opposed to in America, where the herbal market is
only $5 billion.

"Chinese people have a great interest in self-directed healthcare," Piazza said.
He then refuted the stereotype that Chinese dabble in strange forms of herbal
medicine, using ingredients that are strange to Western thought. "The
more-focused people are spending their money on packaged herbals. It`s (China
New Industries`) belief that we can capitalize on this and build a nice business in
China."

Per the terms of the deal, Piazza will remain CEO of the joint venture, but
management will be local. The first part of the deal focuses on marketing and
promoting Pharmaprint as a brand name and quality seal. He said the new
venture in the Far East wouldn`t distract the company from its efforts
domestically.

"I would not suggest the future of Pharmaprint is China, it is a component of it,"
he said. "We look for modest gains in the next two to three years."

follow the performance of the company. Honestly, I don`t follow the stock price."

Bei dem Chart wird mir tatsächlich schlecht- zumindest für bisherige Anleger- aber da ja in den meisten Fällen irgendwann einmal der Boden gefunden ist und es dann auch wieder aufwärts geht (vor allem wenn auch noch eine gute Nachricht dahintersteckt). Daher glaube ich auch, das man hier durchaus eine gute Ausbruchchance nach oben hat und viele Prozente machen könnt

Bin bei 1,6 Euro eingestiegen !
Momentan stehen sie bei 2 Euro.

In Amerika momentan bei 2.125 US$ bei einem Volumen von fast schon
5 Millionen gehandelten Aktien.

Im Board bei Ragingbull geht man von einem kurzfristigen Potential
von 5 - 7 US$ aus.

Wenn PPRT das was sie gepostet haben nur teilweise umsetzen, sind Kurse
von 15 - 20 US$ auf 12-Monatssicht locker drin. Denn die Firma ist auf-
grund der schlechteren Meldungen in letzter Zeit enorm niedrig bewertet.

Gute Nachrichten für Pharmaprint !!

Den Wert beobachte ich schon seit einigen Wochen.

Aber Achtung: Die haben noch ein Gerichtsverfahren am Hals , da das Management Bilanzen... geschönt hat. Pharmaprint droht ein delisting von der Nasdaq und ein listing im Bulletin Board, falsch es nicht gut läuft. Das Gerichtsverfahren bzw. das Urteil wird aller Wahrscheinlichkeit am 11.02.2000 veröffentlicht.

Die Frage: Warum werden kurz vor diesem Termin so gute Nachrichten gestreut ? Damit Insider vielleicht ihre Aktein loswerden können ?

könntest du das mit dem gerichtsverfahren bzw. den ungereimtheiten etwas genauer erläutern.
denn bei dem hearing am 11.2. nicht um irgendetwas gerichtliches oder irgendwelche bilanzmanipulationen, sondern darum, daß pprt mit der aktuellen marktkapitalisierung eigentlich nicht mehr in die nasdaq passt und pprt sich deshalb erklären muß, wie die zukunft aussieht.

Bin ja gespannt was hier abgeht, wenn das Gerichtsurteil positiv ausfällt und sie weiter an der Nasdaq gehandelt werden.

Der Kurs hat sich momentan wieder etwas abgekühlt, aber es müssen ja auch nicht gleich +40% sein...
Wenn wir die nächsten Tage immer +20% (pro Tag) sehe ist es doch auch o.k.!

Also: An alle, die noch nicht dabei sind: Montag ist nocheinmal eine gute Chance für den Einstieg. Wer diese verpennen sollte, dem kann keiner mehr helfen!

hallo raging bull,
das stimmt, dass die aktie bei 15 $ stand. aber frage dich einmal, warum sie dies nicht mehr tut. sie haben ihren hauptkunden (home depot) verloren und sind danach aus der gewinnzone kräftig in die verlustzone gekommen. ich persönlich bin zwar gestern noch gut reingekommen (danke an harry), aber von meinen ganzen investments habe ich bei pprt das mit abstand schlechteste gefühl und wenn der china deal nicht schnell und deutlich etwas bringt, so wird es auch sehr schnell wieder bergab gehen (was ich nicht hoffe, denn ich bin kein zocker und will lieber 1000 % in 1-2 jahren als 50 % in 2 tagen).
denk mal genau drüber nach, und du wirst erkennen, daß pprt sehr riskant ist und falls ein nasdaq delisting kommen sollte, wird der kurs in amerika ins bodenlose fallen und wir werden am folgetag in deutschland nicht mehr rauskommen.

ps: was mich etwas beruhigt, ist
a)die investors list,
b)wenig insider verkäufe
c)ein personeller wechsel in der führung
d)daß die analysten die aktie auf hold eingestuft haben (nachzulesen bei multex) und - unabhängig von dem china deal - ab dem fiskaljahr 2001 wieder mit einem gewinn rechnen.
