Canadian Metals – Strong Buy im Minengeschäft Das Unternehmen: Die Firma Canadian Metals Exploration Ltd. (WKN 936326, Symbol CEL) ist seit 1996 mit der Exploration von NICKEL, Kobalt, Platin, Palladium auf deren eigenem Besitz in Deaselake Northern British Columbia (Turnagain River / Kanada) beschäftigt.

Seit 1996 wurden über 15.000 Meter von Canadian Metals Exploration Ltd. auf diesem Grundstück in 48 Bohrlöcher gebohrt. Zusätzlich wurden intensive geophysische Untersuchungen durchgeführt, die zur Gewinnung einer 3-dimensionalen Erzlegende des Gebietes führten. Eine technische Meisterleistung, die bisher nur von den Topfirmen im Minenbereich angewendet werden konnte.

In Jahr 2003 wurden über 8.000 Meter von Canadian Metals in 22 Bohrlöchern gebohrt. Die ersten 14 Bohrungen wurden Ende Juli dieses Jahres abgeschlossen und diese Ergebnisse zusammen mit den Ergebnissen der Vorjahre führten dazu, dass Dr. Nick Carter (Victoria, BC, Canada) ein Polymetallvorkommen in Höhe von über 49 Mio. Tonnen attestierte. Der Wert des Metalls im Gestein hat einen Durchschnittswert von 40-45 US$ je Tonne. Die Produktionskosten für die Förderung sind zur Zeit noch nicht festzulegen.

Zur Zeit befinden sich noch 2.600 Meter Bohrkerne aus 8 Bohrlöchern, die seit Anfang Oktober gebohrt worden sind, im Labor zu Analyse.

Diese neuen acht Bohrlöcher wurden im August und September diesen Jahres geplant und im Zeitraum Oktober bis November gebohrt. Die Planungen wurden aufgrund der neuen geophysikalischen Vermessungen vereinfacht, da das Unternehmen aufgrund der 40 vorangegangengen Bohrungen und positiven Ergebnisse bereits viele Kenntnisse über das Gebiet und die Vorkommen hatte.

Anerkannte Experten zeigen sich sehr optimistisch, dass nach der Analyse der letzten 2.600 Meter Bohrkerne aus den jüngsten 8 Bohrlöchern die vorhandenen 50 Mio. Tonnen Ressourcen an Metall mindestens verdoppeln, sollten die Gesteine nun den gleichen prozentualen Metallanteil vorweisen können, die bei den ersten Bohrungen festgestellt werden konnten.

Sollte dieser Fakt eintreten, besitzt die Firma die Hälfte der 200 Mill. Tonnen Erz, die benötigt werden um die Infrastruktur einer Grossmine aufzubauen.

Da die Firma Canadian Metals Exploration Ldt. eine reine Explorationsfirma ist, wird das Bohrareal nach der Feststellung der geschäftlichen Rentabilität des Gesamtprojektes an eine multinationale Grossminengesellschaft extrem gewinnbringend verkauft.

Die Bohrergebnisse, die in den nächsten Wochen erwartet werden, könnten den Marktwert der Firma Canadian Metals Exploration Ltd. erheblich ansteigen lassen.

KEY FACTS zum Minenprojekt von Canadian Metals:

Nach 7 Jahre intensiver Forschung wurden bisher 38,8 Mio. Tonnen Nickelhaltiges Gestein mit einem Anteil von 0,32 % lokalisiert. Weiter 8,8 Mio. Tonnen sogar mit 0,42 %.

Daraus ergibt sich ein Verkaufspreis von ca. 40 US$ pro Tonne auf den Weltmarktkurs.

Highlight sind neuste Bodenmesseungen. Dadurch kann man sehr gut erkennen, dass trotz der bisherigen guten Fundergebnisse, nicht einmal ein Bruchteil des wahren Potentials dieser Nickelmine erforscht wurde. Erst die letzten Bohrungen fanden gezielt auf den sogennanten Hotspots statt, wo den Messergebnissen zufolge das grösste Vorkommen vermutet wird. Das Material dieser Bohrungen ist jetzt auf dem Weg ins Labor und die offiziellen Ergebnisse dieser Untersuchung wird in ca. 14 Tagen erwartet.

Unserer Meinung nach hat diese Mine ein Kurspotential von mehr als 2 US$, beim derzeitigen Fortschritt. Ein Sulfidfund jedoch könnte bewirken das die Aktie dieser Firma sogar in Regionen um 30 US$ bewertet wird, da der Nickelgehalt sofort expotentiell ansteigen würde.

Das Turnagain-Projekt:

Das Turnagainexploration Projekt enthält Nickel, Kobalt, Platin , Palladium in Sulfiden.

Der Turnagain Ultramafic Complex ist ca. 8km x 4km groß.

Die Claims befinden sich ca. 70 km östlich von der Stadt Deaselake, im Norden von British Columbia, Canada.

Das Ziel ist es, ein meherere hundert Millionen Tonnen Polymetallvorkommen zu lokalisieren, welches im Tagebau gefördert werden kann.

Bis zum heutigen Tag wurden über 3,5 Mio. $ für Prospecting, geologische Bohrungen und geophysiche Messungen sowie metallurgische Untersuchungen verwendet.

Minerologische und Metallurgische Untersuchungen wurden in Auftrag gegeben bei: Harris Exploration Services, Process Research Assoc., Billiton Process Research,+ Lakefield Research Ltd. & Cominco Engineering Services.

Die Laborergebnisse bestätigen die wirtschaftliche Verwertbarkeit der Metallgewinnung aus dem lokalisierten Gestein.

Weitere geologische Untersuchungen laufen zur Zeit noch an. Die Mineralfunde erstrecken sich auf eine Länge von 3.000 Metern und einer Breite von 800 Metern bei einer Tiefe des Gebietes von 500 Metern.

liegt am wenigen Handel. Mit dem Nächsten Kauf/Verkauf
korregiert sich das/ synchronisiert sich das mit Toronto.


Anscheinend sind die Leute in Deutschland blind,
sonst wäre längst mehr Handel hier.

Aber, was drüben in Toronto abgeht, sollte

Canadian Metals has released the results of the last three drill holes that were part of the 8,135-metre diamond drill campaign completed in 2003.

Two of the holes intersected sulphide nickel mineralization that is part of the Horsetrail zone. Hole 03-20 intersected the Cub zone horizon 150 metres southeast from the 03-18 intersection along the strike. Complete results of the fall drill program (phase II) are listed in the table below:

The analytical work was performed by Acme Laboratories Inc., in Vancouver. Analyses were done by dilute aqua-regia digestion and ICP-emission spectrometry. Randomly selected duplicate samples are being analyzed at SGS Lakefield Research Limited using the ammonium citrate-hydrogen peroxide technique.

The Company is pleased to announce that effective immediately Mr. Mark Jarvis has been appointed a director of the Company and has been appointed chief executive officer of the Company. Dr. Stewart Jackson has resigned as a director of the Company but will remain under contract as a geological consultant to the Company. The contract with Quorum Capital Inc., consultants to the Company, will be terminated effective January 31, 2004 by mutual consent. The Company would like to thank Quorum Capital Inc. and its principal, Mr. Wolf Wiese, for their efforts in supporting the Company since 1995, in bringing the Turnagain property to the Company and obtaining financing to bring the property to its present level of development.
The Company also announces a non-brokered private placement of 3,000,000 units or $1.2 million. The price per unit is $0.40 per unit.
2,000,000 units consist of one common share and one full share purchase warrant at a price of $0.50 per warrant exercisable for a period of two year from the date of the transaction.
1,000,000 units consist of one common share issued as a flow through share plus one half share purchase warrant. Each full warrant entitles the holder to purchase one additional common share for a period of two years from the date of closing of the transaction at a price of $0.50 per warrant share.
No finder`s fee will be paid in connection with the private placement.

PRIVATE PLACEMENT AMENDED

Further to its news release dated January 8, 2004 Canadian Metals Exploration Ltd. (the "Company") announces that the terms of the private placement previously announced are amended as follows:

§ 3,000,000 units at a price of $0.43 for total proceeds to the Company of $1,290,000;
§ 2,500,000 units will consist of one common share and one full share purchase warrant at a price of $0.54 per warrant for a period of two years from the close of the transaction; and
§ 500,000 units will consist of one common share issued as a flow through share plus one-half of one share purchase warrant. Each full warrant will be exercisable for a period of two years from the close of the transaction at a price of $0.54.

The private placement is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close the week of February 9, 2004

Canadian Metals Exploration has filed suit against German financier and long-time backer Wolf Wiese, seeking title to 34 claims adjacent to its Turnagain nickel property near Dease Lake in Northern B.C., which were registered in a four-day staking spree last May. In a statement of claim filed Feb. 25 in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canadian Metals claims Mr. Wiese used confidential information in breach of his fiduciary duty to the company.

The allegations in the suit, filed by Vancouver law firm Fasken Martineau DuMoulin, have not yet been heard or proven in court, and Mr. Wiese has not yet filed a statement of defence.

The suit claims that at all material times, Mr. Wiese provided consulting and management services to Canadian Metals, either personally or through his affiliated companies, and he owned shares of Canadian Metals either directly or indirectly. As such, Mr. Wiese was allegedly privy to confidential information about the nature and value of the company`s mineral claims and its "emerging corporate opportunity" to promote and develop its claims.

(Although not noted in the suit, Mr. Wiese appears to have been a major participant in the company`s history for over a decade. In an unrelated recent regulatory hearing, the panel heard that Mr. Wiese, through his former German brokerage Euro Pacific Securities Services Gmbh, was a significant backer of Canadian Metals and its predecessor Brenmar Resources dating back to about 1993.)

In its suit, Canadian Metals claims that last April or May, Mr. Wiese determined, based on his alleged inside information, that he could stake valuable claims adjacent to the company`s Turnagain property. Mr. Wiese then allegedly set out to appropriate the benefit of these claims for himself, with the intent of then selling these claims to an unidentified company in which he held a large number of shares and which he would promote for personal gain.

Canadian Metals claims that as a fiduciary, he owed it a duty of loyalty and utmost good faith not to capitalize on such confidential information. Instead, he allegedly usurped the adjacent claims by staking them himself. Last May, Mr. Wiese allegedly hired David Schussler, who in turn retained prospector Denis Jacob, to stake adjacent claims. Between May 26 and May 29, 34 such claims, numbered Bear 1 through 26 and Bobner 1 through 6, were staked and registered by the pair, although Mr. Wiese is said to be the beneficial owner of the claims.

Canadian Metals claims it demanded that Mr. Wiese convey the contested claims to the company, but he has refused. Mr. Wiese allegedly claimed he had the authority and consent of the company`s board for his staking campaign, but the company claims no board minutes reflect this and it never authorized or consented to his staking.

Mr. Wiese also allegedly said his staking was justified as Canadian Metals was insolvent, when in fact the company had sufficient funds to pay for the staking itself. Canadian Metals claims that in the month after Mr. Wiese`s staking campaign, he authorized and approved a $600,000 Canadian Metals drilling program, which it would not have been able to do if it was really insolvent.

Canadian Metals now seeks a court order transferring title to the adjacent claims, a declaration that Mr. Wiese acted in breach of his fiduciary obligations, a declaration that the claims are held in trust or a constructive trust for the company, and unspecified general damages.

PRESIDENT`S LETTER TO THE SHAREHOLDERS OF CANADIAN METALS EXPLORATION LTD.

The past year has been both challenging and exciting for the company.

On the exploration side, 2003 was a positive year. The company drilled 23 diamond drill holes into its 100-per-cent-owned Turnagain property for a total of 28,286 feet of drill core, resulting in an independent resource calculation that assigned an inferred mineral resource of 38.8 million tonnes grading 0.32 per cent nickel to the Horsetrail zone and 8.8 million tonnes grading 0.42 per cent nickel to the Cub zone. Results from an additional eight holes at the end of the season are currently being worked into a new resource model. Please note that an inferred mineral resource is a preliminary estimate of a geological resource with no evaluation of economic viability.

The dominant mineralization in the above noted resource is disseminated to net textured sulphides. However, at the end of the 2003 drilling season the company intersected higher grade, semimassive to massive sulphide mineralization across significant widths in two holes. Hole No. 03-18 intersected 25 metres grading 1.00 per cent nickel including eight metres grading 2.27 per cent nickel. Hole No. 03-16 intersected an 81.8-metre zone grading .45 per cent nickel including six metres grading 1.1 per cent nickel. Follow-up drilling on both these zones is planned for early in the new drilling season, expected to start in late April or early May.

On the corporate side, the company was the subject of a cease trade order for seven weeks during last summer, and the British Columbia Securities Commission announced an investigation into the company and three individuals that were directors at that time. Two of these directors are no longer on the board. The investigation is continuing. The company intends to co-operate fully with the investigators.

The company is now under new management and has welcomed three new board members. On Jan. 9, 2004, Mark Jarvis became chief executive officer and joined the board. Through participation in private placements and open market purchases, he now owns approximately 13 per cent of the issued and outstanding shares of Canadian Metals. My mandate is to ensure that this company meets the highest standards of corporate governance and public disclosure. The company has undertaken a review of internal corporate governance and financial control procedures to ensure that these standards will be achieved.

As of today`s date, the company has approximately $1.5-million (unaudited) in working capital. It is planning a comprehensive and systematic evaluation of the entire Turnagain property, starting with the basics. Approximately $200,000 is budgeted for a helicopter-borne EM survey. Another $350,000 is budgeted for mapping, prospecting, biogeochem and soil geochem surveys. These activities are intended to allow the company to evaluate and prioritize drill targets across the entire ultramafic intrusive, which has dimensions of approximately eight kilometres by 3.5 kilometres.

Approximately $200,000 is budgeted for metallurgical studies of the various rock types present on the property. This is important work that feeds back into the exploration program. Preliminary metallurgical testing done to date indicates reasonable to good recoveries of nickel in sulphides. Low-grade nickel is also present in silicates in some areas of the property. It is very likely that these areas of silicate nickel mineralization are of no economic interest, so the exploration emphasis will be focused on the sulphide-rich zones.

Current estimates are that the company will require an additional $2-million for drilling this year, which it plans to raise from the equity markets. One rig, which is at present stored on the property, will be drilling in the Horsetrail and Cub zones early in the season. It will test the continuity of the higher grade zones discovered at the end of last year and also attempt to expand the current inferred resource in order to explore the potential for a large tonnage resource amenable to open pit mining.

The company plans to add a second, track-mounted prospecting rig to drill test various geochemical and geophysical targets that are spread for eight kilometres along the ultramafic intrusive. Beyond that, drilling and budgeting decisions will be driven by results.

Mark Jarvis, President of Canadian Metals Exploration Ltd., announced that the company has received a revised resource calculation which estimates an inferred mineral resource of 48.3 million tonnes averaging 0.34% nickel at the Turnagain Nickel Project in northern British Columbia. The resource is contained in two mineralized zones termed the Horsetrail and Cub zones within an 8 km by 3.5 km ultramafic complex. The Horsetrail zone has an inferred mineral resource of 43.3 million tonnes at a grade of 0.32% nickel. The Cub zone has an inferred mineral resource of 5.0 million tonnes at a grade of 0.55% nickel. Calculations of the resource were carried out by C. Baldys, P.Eng., a Qualified Person and reviewed by N.C. Carter, Ph.D., P. Eng., an Independent Qualified Person consistent with NI 43-101.

`Nickel mineralization is widespread and pervasive in the areas drilled so far,`said Mr. Jarvis. `Depending on the rock type, the nickel can be present in sulfides or within silicates. This is an important distinction, since the sulfide nickel responds well to concentration in metallurgical test work conducted to date, whereas the silicate nickel is difficult to recover and is considered waste rock. We have used the best analytical techniques available to us to exclude silicate nickel from the inferred mineral resource.`

For the calculations, 13 drill holes from the 2003 program, 4 holes from the 2002 program and 3 holes from the 1998 program were used. The mineralized zones are sub-parallel, steeply dipping and are open along strike and up- and down-dip.

Individual lenses within the mineralized zones vary in thickness from 10m to over 100m, trend NW-SE and have been traced on surface for a continuous length of over 500m. The Turnagain ultrabasic body is currently interpreted as a fault bounded intrusive complex comprising multiple dunite to wehrlite cumulus zones around a central dunite core.

Since October 2002, the Company has drilled 10,357 meters (33,979 feet) on the property. Drilling will start again in early May with a minimum of 10,000 meters planned before year-end. Metallurgical test work, under the direction of F. Wright, P.Eng., is in progress on composite core samples from the 2002 and 2003 drill programmes and will build on metallurgical data from 1998 metallurgical programs. The inferred mineral resource is summarized below:

Key Assumptions, Parameters, Estimate Methods and Analytical Techniques.

1. The estimates of resources were completed using the sectional method with a minimum thickness of 10 meters and a cut-off grade of 0.25% nickel. The calculation incorporates assumptions with respect to the limits of mineralization. Each drill hole was given an area of influence halfway to the nearest neighbouring drill hole. Where the nearest neighbouring hole was more than 100 meters distant, the area of influence was limited to a 50 meters radius. An assumed Specific Gravity of 3.0 was used for calculation purposes; a number of specific gravity determinations completed to date are in the range of 3.10 to 3.20.

2. The mineral resource estimates were prepared pursuant to CIM Standards on Mineral Resources and Reserves, prepared by the CIM Standing Committee on Reserve Definitions and adopted by CIM Council August 20, 2000 and published in the CIM Bulletin of October, 2000. In view of the widely-spaced drilling completed to date, these preliminary estimates are categorized as Inferred Mineral Resources, defined by the CIM Standing Committee as being `that part of a Mineral Resource for which quantity and grade or quality can be estimated on the basis of geological evidence and limited sampling and reasonably assumed, but not verified, geological and grade continuity. The estimate is based on limited information and sampling, gathered through appropriate techniques from locations such as outcrops, trenches, pits, workings and drill holes`.

3. At the current stage of investigation, the mineral resource cannot be considered to have economic viability.

4. Several factors, including recovery factors and economic cutoff grades will affect the mineral resources that may ultimately be processed.

5. Analyses were performed at Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd. in Vancouver, B.C., using ICP emission spectrometry after aqua regia digestion.

6. For verification purposes an alternative method was used to leach and calculate metals contained in sulfides. It is referred to as the ammonium citrate - hydrogen peroxide leach method. Every 10th sample was processed with this method.

7. For quality assurance purposes CanMet-MMSL reference samples were inserted into each batch of 30 samples.

8. Comparative check analyses were performed by International Plasma Laboratory Ltd. and the results displayed less than a +/-5% variation from those performed by Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd. (VANCOUVER) - Mark Jarvis, President of Canadian Metals Exploration Ltd. announced today that Lyle Davis, P.Eng., MBA, has rejoined the board of the Company. Mr. Davis previously worked in the corporate finance practices of Ernst & Young, an accountancy, and in a similar capacity at C.M. Oliver, a brokerage firm. Before that, Mr. Davis was with the Vancouver Stock Exchange where he was responsible for trading operations during the transition from floor based to screen based trading, prior to which he was a senior member of the VSE`s corporate finance division.

Mr. Davis has been a board member of Canadian Metals before, albeit briefly. He joined the board November 13, 2003 and resigned November 28, 2003.

"Mr. Davis has considerable knowledge of modern corporate governance practices," said Mr. Jarvis. "He will be a strong independent director and has also consented to chair the Audit Committee. I am delighted that he has decided to join us as a director at this time. I think it validates current management and indicates that we are on the right track in terms of corporate governance."

(VANCOUVER) - As contemplated in the Notice of Meeting and other material mailed to all registered shareholders of record for the Annual General and Special Meeting held on June 11, 2004, the shareholders at that meeting approved a special resolution to change the name of the Company.

Following the Meeting, the necessary documents were filed with the Registrar of Companies and effective June 28, 2004, the name of the company was changed to HARD CREEK NICKEL CORPORATION.
