Connetics Corporation (CNCT) Release: Phase III Data On A Low-Residue Clobetasol Propionate Foam Used In The Treatment Of Scalp Psoriasis Is Presented At American Academy of Dermatology 58th Annual Meeting
Phase III clinical trial data, on OLUX(TM) (clobetasol propionate) Foam, 0.05%, an investigational low-residue foam formulation used to treat scalp psoriasis, were presented today at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology. Scalp psoriasis, a difficult-to-treat condition affecting more than 3.2 million Americans, is marked by redness and scaling of the scalp, severe itching and irritation. A new drug application for OLUX for the treatment of corticosteroid-responsive scalp dermatoses is pending review by the Food and Drug Administration.

Dermatology Business

These technologies may offer improved efficacy by enhancing the rate of absorption to the skin and, we believe, may offer patients a more desirable mode of application based on a variety of cosmetically pleasing attributes.

In April 1999, Connetics launched its first dermatology product, Luxíq, which uses an innovative quick-break foam delivery technology. In a Phase III clinical study, the product showed superior efficacy over the current therapy and, because of its quick-drying, non-staining, and easy-to-apply attributes, the majority of patients surveyed preferred Luxíq over other formulations. In 2000, Connetics anticipates launching a second product, OLUX (clobetasol propionate) Foam, 0.05% and intends on continuing development in the dermatology area, potentially launching several new products over the next five years.

Relaxin Development Program
Connetics is also focused in a number of other specialty medical markets with the development of recombinant human relaxin, a natural human hormone that may potentially treat a variety of indications. We are initially developing relaxin (ConXn®) for the treatment of scleroderma and infertility, and are investigating its use for other vascular and fibrotic diseases. Connetics is currently conducting a pivotal study with relaxin for the treatment of scleroderma and recently initiated clinical trials with relaxin for the treatment of infertility.

wenn relaxin funzt, gehts richtig ab, ansonsten steht man trotzdem gut da.
die kooperatioen bzgl. relaxin haben die erwartungen steigen lassen.
